I was hyped to get early access to the second volume of Maid to Skate because the first one was ingenious. Genuinely a mix of pride in skateboarding and working a job in a big house with a group of other girls as maids with the featured girl willing to get better at skateboarding and working.
It highlights the cool factor of skateboarding and in this one taking pride in your board and what it says about you as well as learning tricks and being supportive.
The positivity of girls supporting girls comes through loud and clear for this one and readers get to meet (briefly) the woman of the house who makes an appearance for the girl to do tricks in front of and have a good meal before disappearing again.
It highlights the cool factor of skateboarding and in this one taking pride in your board and what it says about you as well as learning tricks and being supportive.
