Silverveil Academy (A Dark, Spicy Reverse Harem Academy Romance): Claimed by Darkness

Rate this book
One night I’m a broke cocktail waitress serving entitled jerks. The next, I’m manifesting people’s worst nightmares and being dragged to a supernatural academy for magic I can’t control.

I’ve always been the outsider. Too poor for the rich kids, too weird for the normal ones. Working at my missing father’s nightclub wasn’t exactly a dream job, but it paid the bills... Until I accidentally turned a customer’s fear into something real. Now half the club is traumatized, and I’m being sent to Silverveil Academy, the elite school for supernatural royalty.

At Silverveil, they train heirs with powers that can destroy cities. I’m not one of them. I’m the nobody with unstable magic and a secret I don’t understand. But in a place where weakness gets you killed, I’ll have to learn fast.

The Academy’s Elite Circle already has plans for four dangerously powerful men who make my life complicated in every possible way.

Knox Sterling – an exiled alpha who’d burn the world for me.
Lucian Cross – a vampire lord whose forbidden blood bond ties us together.
Dante Crest – a dream walker who sees my nightmares and wants to protect me.
Felix Star – a chaos mage with deadly secrets and a sinful smile.

Between brutal combat classes, dark magic, and creatures stalking the halls, I’m starting to realize my father’s disappearance wasn’t random. And neither is what’s happening to me.

Silverveil Academy was such a fun, binge-worthy read. I loved the mix of magic, mystery, and romantic tension — it has that addictive academy vibe that keeps you turning pages without even realising. The characters are easy to follow, the plot moves quickly, and the worldbuilding feels exciting right from the start.

Just a heads-up: there are definitely some spicy scenes, so it’s not one for younger readers or anyone looking for a closed-door fantasy. But if you enjoy a bit of heat mixed into your magical drama, this one is a great pick. I really enjoyed it!

Continuity issues

While I enjoyed this story there are massive continuity issues and some proof reading issues that need to be addressed., since they definitely lessen the story and my enjoyment of it

Lots of potential, but it’s missing something. It was difficult to connect to the characters and needs another pass at editing—several inconsistencies within scenes, some writing prompts haven’t been taken out (either AI prompts or the writer’s original prompts for alternate scene possibilities).

Dark, Addictive, and Hard to Put Down

Silverveil Academy pulled me in fast. Broke waitress to manifesting literal nightmares is a wild opening, and it only escalates from there. I loved how the main character starts off completely out of her depth. No secret princess energy, no instant mastery, just chaos, fear, and trying to survive in a place that clearly was not built for her.

The academy setting is dark and tense, with real danger woven into everyday life. Training feels brutal, the stakes feel real, and the mystery around her father kept me turning pages. I also appreciated that her magic feels unstable and scary, not convenient.

And yes, the Elite Circle absolutely complicates everything. Each of the four men has a distinct presence and purpose, and their dynamics with her felt intentional rather than interchangeable. The why-choose romance builds alongside the plot instead of replacing it, which made the emotional connections more satisfying.

This was fun, intense, and bingeable. If you like supernatural academies with sharp edges, found family vibes, and romance layered into danger and secrets, this one is worth picking up.

DNF - 35% - i was willing to overlook the few minor grammatical errors and even the mistakes in the details, but the FMC becomes obnoxious. She gets bossy and insists she’s a strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man… I’m so tired of that plot line.

How often do you have someone actually apologize to you? When you do, do you keep poking them? Yes, you should insist that their actions will prove their apology, but why be mean and hateful if they are being sincere?

This is supposed to be like a college… for adults…. Why are there lockers and bells? Uniform? Why is there a jealous female bully?

Kane just appeared out of nowhere. No introduction. Kane who?

And then there’s the timeline issues…

She’s in her borrowed uniform that doesn’t fit right, but then in the next chapter (same morning) she’s suddenly in jeans????

And they just finished breakfast… But 8 hours later and it’s early morning????

Like i said, i can overlook minor plot errors, but i can’t overlook a FMC who is a brat. I can’t love the story if i can’t love her.

Silverveil Academy

First in series, pnr, Academy, reverse harem?, hidden heritage. Our heroine has been alone since her dad disappeared six years ago. Suddenly she bursts out a power that causes people to live their worst nightmare. So a magic Academy reaches out and draws her to the school. She must adjust to this unknown world and has a quirky but supportive roommate. Then all the power males start to fall for her. Her personality is quite abrasive imo, but some of them develop bonds of various types. There are mysteries and political intrigue and she turns out to be "save the world special" of course. Book one is rushed and superficial, with very little World building or character development. Correct grammar for the most part, but chapter 19 retains several editing notes that should not have been left in the published product.

it’s okay

The book is okay. Unfortunately there’s major holes and also ALOT of inconsistencies. For example, one of the gaps is Fliex and Dante. It’s hard to see how there is even a relationship, least of a a mate bond, with her since they aren’t frequently seen in like 70-80% of the book. As for inconsistencies, it’s mentioned that Lucien is centuries old yet he’s a student but has an office? Lucien and Knox have known each other for decades because they were put together as children, but how is that possible with Lucien’s age and Knox being 25?

The plot had promise but it’s not a well connected book and looses the reader interest by the end.

This is a new age thriller story with a female lead. I felt it was an easy and interesting and engaging read. There was a certain kind of tension in the whole story and I personally liked it. The end of the story was a thrilling experience it was really a suspense. As soon as i completed reading this I immediately went out to find if there are other parts of this book. And I was thrilled to find out that there are more to this story. The journey till now was completely well written and I am excited to see what comes in the next parts.

Loved it, but it needs work

Really loved the idea of this story. It was sadly a bit confusing at times. There were some details that didn't make sense, and I think there were some holes in the timeline. There also seem to be notes from the author that were not removed during editing? Overall, I enjoyed the story and will continue the series. A proper revision/edit would make this five stars.

Great read with so much action, spice, heartache, betrayals, and so much more. My heart was definitely hurting after reading this one. The ending was so tension filled and emotional

Good start but didn't care about the characters

Good start but didn't care about the characters. Won't read the next book in the series. I just didn't care what happens next.
