Julia thinks her Christmas week can't get any worse until she nearly dies when a truck spins out on the icy highway, totaling her car. She wakes up miraculously unharmed and face-to-face with Clark, the high school boyfriend who vanished without explanation twelve years ago.
Except his name isn't Clark. It's Clarix, and he's an alien from the planet Prouv.
When they were both teenagers, Clarix accidentally fluid-bonded Julia, tying them together with a mate bond. However, after his diplomat mother discovered the bond, she dragged him back to Prouv. Meanwhile, Julia has spent over a decade unable to have a normal romantic relationship with anyone.
Now that they're reunited, Julia's body is demanding what it's been missing: regular doses of Clarix's bonding fluid. As the biological urgency intensifies, she's forced to choose between her normal life on Earth or a life among the stars with the guy... alien who got away.
But first, they have to survive Christmas with her family.
Rachel lives at the bottom of a wishing well somewhere in Canada and vacations on Jupiter during the long winters. When she's not busy writing about alien book boyfriends, she spends her free time wrangling her two dogs and one genetic clone. She is incredibly grateful that you've taken the time to stop by, and would love to hear from you through any communication method of your choosing! Her telepathy remains out of order for the foreseeable future.

This funny and spicy Christmas novella was fantastic. You're thrown right into the action when Julia is driving in a winter storm and crashes her car, she is rescued by her Ex...and he has some explaining to do. This novella has some of my favorite microtropes in sci fi/alien romance. Bonding fluids, secret identities, intergalactic politics, and drunk grandmas. Okay that last one isn't a classic trope in sci fi/alien romances, but I love it just the same.
If you like your dessert before dinner this one is for you. This holiday novella is sweet and spicy. Clarix and Julia have such great chemistry and banter.
Each character in the story is unique and relatable.
Julia was on her way to visit her Grandma when she ends up in accident and when she wakes up she been abducted and on an alien spaceship.🛸
It’s her ex boyfriend Clark, he’s actual name is Clarix who rescues her,an ex boyfriend she hasn’t seen in over 10 years after breaking up with her. He’s also the reason why she couldn’t be intimate with anyone, the last time she was when she lost her virginity to Clarix not realising that he fluid bond with her. This basically means she reliant on him for all her needs no one else can satisfy her.
Julia thought there was something wrong with her body but she was actually bonded to an alien without knowing it. She’s not going to easily forgive him for what he did to her.
When she sees Clarix again she’s going through bonding withdrawal, her body is reacting to him she needs him. She can’t get enough of him.
When Clarix left she was heartbroken even depressed and he missed her just as much. He kept thinking about her the whole time he was away from her. He’s hoping they won’t be separated again.
“I’m yours Julia”.
She matters to him, he won’t abandon her again. He won’t lose her again. Julia is willing to give him a second chance. She’s is bondmate ❤️
I really enjoyed reading this book , it’s short and spicy and sweet and the chemistry between Julia and Clarix 🥵

When your life is turned on its head in a single car crash - no wait, it was your ex-sweetheart from school who did that when he schtupped you 12 years ago...
My girl Julia has a lot to be upset about, but she doesn't dwell on it too long because she's now addicted to alien Christmas stocking stuffing (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, cough, sputter) as her ex-boyfriend makes a hard left turn back into her life. Oh, and reveals he's an alien. And they catch up about past betrayals and physiological complications over a visit to Julia's family for the holidays.
This book is not so much fake dating as it is 'hi mom, you remember my ex-boyfriend who broke my heart all those years ago, well, he's back and I'm keeping him because he's a simp' kind of dating.
Snarky and tongue-in-cheek (as well as other places) this is a quick read for the holidays, like having your Christmas pudding before dinner. Funnily enough, I could have used more smut despite the couple being on a literal timer for a repeat performance, but I'm a slow burn girly (and known as maximalist in some circles) so we're not gonna unpack that dichotomy at this late hour.
A short, but so sweet (and spicy) holiday romance! This was really cute and despite the length, Rachel was able to cram a lot of life into the story. I absolutely hated the tw@t mothers, but everyone else was perfectly lovely. Yes, at least Jules' mom has a bit of redemption, but I'm a salty one and hold grudges 🤣 It was fun how normal Clarix was, despite the fact that he was an alien-- and I love me a simp, so he was adorable. The side characters (not you Jules' mom, you suck) were so fun and brought a lot to the story! Overall this was a super cute little holiday read!
When a snowstorm causes Julia to wreck on her way to a family holiday get-together, the last person she expects to come to her rescue is a past love who ghosted her after their first time together. But now Clark’s back in his…spaceship?!
If you like your aliens to grovel a bit and your spice to come with holiday cheer, this bite-sized sci-fi romance novella is for you!
The fluid bonding addiction definitely created a lot of opportunities for sexy chaos! I definitely wanted her to be a little more upset for a little longer, but I know a LOT of people will be super happy about the clear and simple communication between the FMC & MC. It's definitely refreshing!
I'm not a Christmas novella gal. But this one? Oh, this one delivers. It's short, it's spicy, it's hilarious, and it even makes you feel emotional. All boxes checked.
This book was so fun!! Just a short, cute, sm×tty, holiday read! If you like a green MMC who is devoted to the FMC and a crazy Christmas with the family to remember, you don't want to miss this one!
