Luna Hart plans weddings for a living. She just doesn’t believe in them. After one broken engagement and a lifetime of watching relationships unravel, she’s built a career out of orchestrating perfect love stories—while quietly avoiding one of her own. Then Reef Rodman kisses her. Reef is saltwater and sin. A grumpy charter captain with rough hands, wicked dimples, and a reputation for catching everything he hooks. But Luna doesn’t want to be caught. Their no-strings arrangement is a fun distraction. Nothing more. But in the Florida Keys, buried secrets and whispers of danger can make even the biggest cynics catch feels.
Macy is a foul-mouthed tennis addict whose sweet side comes out with her two teenage sons. She loves to write about sassy women who like their men Alpha in the bedroom and Beta at the breakfast table. Strong, smart heroines inspire her as much as hard-bodied heroes with hearts of gold.
Her passion is writing erotic stories that appeal to smart women, and men. She loves to show that happily-ever-after can come in many forms and can keep getting better, through characters ballsy enough to push their own boundaries to cross the line from fantasy to reality. She hopes to inspire readers to think outside the confines of social norms.
Luna is nervously doing last-minute checks for the wedding, which is scheduled to start in two hours. She knows from experience as a wedding planner that even though everything seems to be perfect, it is the first sign that something is going to go wrong.
And as Cara heads her way, she can tell that there is a huge problem. The bride is having a meltdown about the bouquets and is demanding that the florist redo them because the orchids aren't the exact same shade. Two hours before the wedding.
When the bride tells her that the groom's fishing excursion the day before had been a nightmare, it didn't calm Luna's nerves since she would now be looking for another vendor. She had a full schedule and checking out charter services was the last thing she wanted to do.
After several definite, clear passes on her list, she is approaching the next bait shop and her hopes are up until the gorgeous man opens his mouth. She didn't care how good their boats looked; she wouldn't be suggesting this rude jerk to anyone.
Reef took one look at the wedding planner and lost it. He had just come back from an excursion dealing with drunk men who blamed him for their line breaking, he didn't need her and her attitude that they might not rate high enough to be referred to her clients.
I love this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the first time I have read anything by this writer and even though this book can be read as a standalone, this series should be read in order; there is back history that I would like more information on and can't wait to read the previous brother's books to fill in the blanks.
This book is action-packed and full of angst. Shocked to hear that their mother's death may not have been a heart attack, these siblings start digging for answers that they aren't sure they want.
I highly recommend this romantic suspense story. I truly felt like I was in the Keys with the balmy breeze on my skin and the smell of brine in the air. Can't wait to catch up on this series and read more by this author.
Luna Hart is a wedding planner that doesn’t believe in marriage or relationships, after her almost one didn’t work out. So Luna relocated to the Florida Keys to start over there making people’s dreams come true, even when hers didn’t. Reef Rodman is a grumpy fishing charter captain that has been wondering where his forever person could be and when he will meet her. Dating apps aren’t working for him. While trying to find out what is being withheld by his father and the sheriff, about his mother’s and almost sister in laws death and work, he doesn’t have time for relationships.. Luna’s assistant Cara has been given the job of finding a charter company for a request from a wedding party. They want half the group fishing with the other half a party on a sandbar. Rodman Reels say they can do it but Luna is skeptical and goes over to verify the information herself. Of course grumpy Reef is the one she deals with, and the chemistry between them has them both confused. If you like romance, suspense and insta chemistry, you should try this book and series. Thanks Macy, for the opportunity to read it early.
I am so hooked on this series that when the release date for the next book in the series is announced, it goes on my calendar and I not so patiently wait its release. That is exactly how I was with Reef's story. All the characters are interesting and visiting returning "cast members" from previous books is welcomed. Now...let's talk about Reef, the grumpy twin who wants someone to love and has struck out. Luna's description of him is swoonworthy - "a 6'3" fisherman built like living temptation". Reef proves himself to be a first-class kisser and when he makes love, Luna is one satisfied lady. If s*x were an art form, Reef's picture would be in the dictionary. When he finds the woman he has been hoping for, he proves to be quite the lover. Those scenes are well written and will make you warm and swoon. Luna has a tough shell and very focused on her career. Reef is good for her. Together they make a perfect couple. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. Great job, Macy Butler!
Luna and Reef were a perfect match! Even if their first meet was a little rocky. We get to see all the Rodman siblings, and the dad again, as well as their partners. I love getting the little glimpses of characters from previous books, and was glad Faith had a little bit more in this one, as well as the update from the case. This book had a ton of sweet moments, like when Reef and Luna start to realize their feelings. Low drama, but just enough to keep it interesting, as well as some suspense with what really happened to the Rodman matriarch. Cara is one of my favorite side characters, and I hope she gets a book! Great read, cannot wait to see what comes next!
Luna and Reef both had commitment issues but she was worse than him. Their first encounter didnt go so well she thought he was an arrogant grump and he thought she was uptight and judgemental basically. When they finally start a casual physical relationship things get blurry because she doesn't want to admit it is more. The side story of the mystery involving the death of his mother was interesting too. I loved her assistant Cara she added some real humor and wasn't shy about calling Luna out. Good story.
Great story about two young people who are determined not to commit to a relationship. Yet, from the time they meet, instant attraction, yet they ignore it best they can. Enjoy their journey to see what and how they reach their own place to find their feelings for each other.
I have loved this family and how the mystery of their mom continues to grow. Reef and Luna have been my favorite couple so far. I think thos was Macy's best book so far and can't wait to read the next book in the series!!
