Everyone Vanishes Eventually

Rate this book
Everyone Vanishes Eventually is a collection of six unsettling short stories where the familiar slips into something darker. Here, the ordinary grows untrustworthy: flowers sprout in unexpected places, shadows gather a little too long, and even the most loyal companions cannot keep the strange at bay. From crooked streets to lonely coasts, these tales explore how loss refuses to stay quiet. These are small stories, but they carry long shadows.

This hauntingly wonderful short story collection leaves you with goosebumps, tears and the warmth of a mug of tea in your hands when the world around you grows increasingly colder. I love every single one of the stories (if I had to pick a favourite I'd say it's The Dog who Saw the Sea, that one ripped my heart into shreds) and the beautiful art supports the eerie feeling the stories leave you with. Big recommendation!

"Everyone Vanishes Eventually" is a rare and beautiful book, a quiet masterpiece.
Each story feels like a modern fable: tender, melancholic, and sharply observed. Mrs Geisterblum writes calmly, but deeply.
Her characters (whether human, animal, or object) carry memory, loss, and love within them. Every line feels patient and honest. Nothing is exaggerated; everything has weight. The book is beautifully typeset and designed, and the illustrations match perfectly. You can tell this work was created by someone who not only writes but also shapes, thinks, and feels.
I have rarely read a debut collection that feels so complete and mature. The book is self-published, and I am glad for that. She deserves a major publisher, but the industry would likely destroy the quiet magic she bound into this book.
This book stays with me and has earned a special place in my library.

I am not usually one for short stories, but every single one in this collection captured my attention immediately. Each one is filled with subtle magic, meaningful characters, and a poignancy you don’t expect from a short story. They will rip your heart out in the best possible way.
Also, the book itself is beautiful with amazing illustrations for each story. I know I’ll be rereading this many times and gifting to all my reader friends.

A simply beautiful collection from one of my absolute favourite writers!

These stories will honestly never leave me. Each one is dark, deeply emotional, and filled with wonder and whimsy. I don't think I'll ever get over The Dog Who Saw The Sea!

10/10 — a wonderful book from start to finish! ❤️

Dark and whimsical, this is a book for anyone who enjoys a quick, captivating read. Geisterblum has a way of drawing a reader into her world with mystery and magic. Additionally, the art is quite lovely throughout. I'd give this book 10/5 stars if such a thing were feasible.
