Demi Alder has never been quiet about what she wants, and she wanted Maddox Chen from the moment she saw him. Beautiful, brilliant, and unapologetically bold, Demi is earning her PhD in Bioengineering while building a FemTech empire with her billionaire twin sister. She has never needed a man to feel powerful. Then she walks into the Saddle Bar, and the mysterious owner with the quiet voice and impossible stare becomes the one thing she cannot ignore. She shoots her shot. He shuts her down cold.
Maddox takes one look at her heels, her confidence, her attention-seeking smile, and decides he knows exactly who she spoiled, reckless, trouble. He dismisses her like she is nothing more than a distraction.
He has never been more wrong in his life.
When Maddox finally lets his walls down, the connection between them hits fast and real and dangerously deep. Which is exactly why he runs. Demi’s world is full of genius and innovation and people changing the future. Maddox believes he is just a bartender with a tragic past and a future made of nothing but work and survival. So he disappears before she can realize she deserves more than him.
Demi refuses to fall apart. She has research to finish, a company to build, and a future that does not involve the man who ghosted her.
But the universe is not done with them.
Secrets surface. Lies collide. Sapphire, Maddox’s newest rooftop club, becomes the center of something far more dangerous than anyone realizes. When Demi walks through its doors, one choice will change everything. Maddox has spent his entire life trying to keep the people he loves safe. This time, safety may cost him the only woman he ever cared for.
A woman who refuses to dim her light. A man who finally learns he was always enough. A love powerful enough to survive any storm.
Ghosted is a high-heat romantic suspense filled with second chances, obsession, and a quiet man who would burn down the world for the woman he once underestimated.
Book 3 in The Saddle Bar Encounters Series. Can be read as a standalone, but readers of Canceled and Deleted will catch every hidden thread, familiar face, and explosive twist in the Alder family world.
My first time reading Jill Chandler and it was definitely a joy. This is the 3rd book in the 3 book series The Saddle Bar Encounters. These two main characters had to have been mentioned in the previous books in the series as side characters and now are getting to tell their own story. Demi and Maddox are explosive in the best ways. Demi is a beautiful, intelligent, girl boss who knows what she wants and is determined to get it and she wants Maddox. Maddox is a serious, mysterious, hard working man with a stone cold stare that locks you in. The only problem...... Maddox takes a look at her and shoots her down flat. Possibly due to some miscommunication, probably due to a lot of assumptions on his part. Either way this leads to some tension and verbal battle royale for everyone to enjoy. It is a stand alone book, however I feel this book would be better read in the series order. It would definitely benefit the reader to have the background of the other characters and maybe some more details about Demi and Maddox that have been previously mentioned. The book definitely skips around in the time line a lot and that made it a little bit hard for me to resolve all the questions I had. I definitely am going to be going back and reading the first two books of the series! This book series is like pringles. You can't just stop at 1.
This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I jumped into the story line in the 3rd book, but I don’t feel like I missed out on anything that would relate to this storyline. I loved the dual POV of each character. We really got a feel of what they were feeling throughout the story. The interactions between Maddox and Demi had me laughing on many parts and they had a wonderful relationship that they built. I look forward to many other opportunities to read these stories.
I received this ARC through the author and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.
Demi and Maddox may just be one of my favourite couples. Individually they have everything going for themselves but together…. They are everything strong, happy, their lives just go together like a puzzle piece.
There is a story and having both point of views gives you an insight to both their feelings and emotions.
I really really enjoyed Ghosted and am looking forward to reading more of Jill’s writing 🥰
Thank you for the amazing opportunity of reading this ✨
I loved the initial banter between Demi and Maddox. They just could not get on the same page leading to giggle worthy material. It was fun to watch their relationship evolve. I enjoyed the story, the switch from one POV to the other, the characters, the laughter and the spice. ❤️🔥📚
