You’d think defeating a soul-eating wraith would earn me a break, right?
Yeah. No.

Turns out, dying once wasn’t enough. Neither was saving the afterlife.

I thought destroying the wraith would finally complete Death’s little assignment. That I’d get to rest. But apparently, Death forgot to mention a teeny-tiny there’s more than one wraith. And they’re all ticking time bombs waiting to go off.

Oh, and remember my missing raven? Not so missing after all. He’s walking around in a human form now, wielding my powers better than I ever could.

Everything’s falling apart. Again. But at least this time, I’m not alone. Cassian, Nathaniel, and Talon are teaching me how to live, how to fight, and how not to lose myself in the chaos.

I may be unstable. I may be cursed.
But I’m done being powerless.

Death might have more monsters in store for me, but I’ve got unfinished business, starting with the man who killed me.
Mark, I’m coming for you.
And believe me, I will not play nice.

Sundered is the third book in The Soulbound Series, a dark paranormal Reverse Harem romance brimming with twisted devotion, cosmic consequences, and one unkillable heroine hellbent on taking back her power. And, of course, let's not forget the revenge.

If I were a quote, I’d probably fall somewhere between “Ars longa, vita brevis” and “I couldn’t help but wonder... was I addicted to the drama? Or was I just hopelessly romantic?”
Ideally, something right in the middle—ambitious, a little chaotic, and deeply in my feelings.

I’m someone constantly caught between daydreaming, trying to improve at everything I do, and being mildly awkward (online and off). If you tell me you love my stories, I probably won’t know what to say—even though I’ll be absolutely thrilled inside.

Genre-wise, I go wherever inspiration takes me: Reverse Harem, dark romance, horror, standalones, series—I love exploring it all. If it makes me feel something, I want to write it.

So maybe, just maybe, there’s a story on my backlist with your name on it. And if it’s not there yet, chances are it’s brewing in my head.

Come hang out in my Facebook group, The Hideout, or check out my website for updates, new releases, and whatever weird little world I’m building next.

I'd be lying if I said this series couldn't get any better. It totally does! Skye finds better bird, little sh*t is in human form and weilding her powers like he was born with them. and mark. mark mark mark. finally found that jerk. karma!
this book is fast paced with twists and forms, constant chaos but totally awesome!
the guys OMG... you couldn't have made them any hotter. Skye has a great thing going with them, but what a mess with everything else lol.
Pen, you have easily become my fave new author.
I'll be impatiently waiting for what's next 😈

Tbh i don’t even know how to explain this series anymore. There’s so much going on, yet somehow absolutely nothing happening at the same time.

Like—end of Book 2, we find out the FMC’s powers/soul are splitting or glitching or whatever, and her raven/crow (idk I forgot which bird too) is suddenly an angsty teenager. The whole grouo gets assigned to hunt down the other wraiths. So obviously you’d think Book 3 would focus on… you know… that.

Wrong.

We get basically none of that. Halfway through they finally capture Mark—the ex-husband, literal core of her trauma arc—and the torture stuff happens OFF-SCREEN?? Why?? Her entire backstory is how this man murdered her and she became a grim so she could torture him when he died. And when we finally get to that moment… nothing. No action. No payoff. Just more talking and more sex.

Also why is she suddenly terrified of Pain (the bird)? They’ve been together for five years. He’s literally her other half. If my kid/bird/whatever had all my powers AND understood the afterlife better than me, I’d be glued to him 24/7.

So yeah—nothing really happens, and then at the end the author just drops a brand new plot.

I do like the author’s writing style — she’s not confusing at all. I just wish she’d either make the books longer or cut down on the endless talking, because the pacing deserves better than this

Sundered (The Soulbound Series, Book 3)
Rating: 5/5 Stars (Exceptional)
Sundered, the third installment in The Soulbound Series, is an exceptionally executed piece of dark paranormal romance. The author has crafted a plot that moves with perfect pacing, seamlessly integrating high-stakes cosmic conflict with deep character development.
The narrative picks up with a compelling premise: the protagonist, having saved the afterlife, finds her hard-won peace shattered. The discovery that "Death forgot to mention" there are multiple ticking-time-bomb wraiths immediately elevates the tension. This instability is further complicated by the appearance of her missing raven in a potent human form, wielding her powers with startling proficiency.
While the heroine grapples with feeling "unstable" and "cursed," her journey from powerlessness to resolve is the novel's core strength. Her dynamic with Cassian, Nathaniel, and Talon—integral to the Reverse Harem element—provides both grounding and a powerful support structure as she refocuses on her ultimate goal: revenge against the man who killed her.
This book successfully delivers on the promise of the genre, offering a well-written, dark paranormal Reverse Harem romance brimming with twisted devotion and cosmic consequences. It is a fantastic, deeply satisfying read that expertly sets the stage for the next phase of the conflict.

"Finally, after all these years, it seems right. I’ve risen from my ashes, stronger, and better, and finally treated right."
Little Grim has come so far on her journey 🖤🖤 she's such an amazing, and strong FMC 🖤

the witty sarcastic banter continues. Love love love it! This book was 🔥🔥🔥 the whole premise just keeps getting better as you continue to unpack everything.

I love how the author incorporated the raven into this. As much as I love Cassian and Skye's bond I'm so glad we got to see a different one this book! I always thought Cassian would remain my favorite but now I just don't know 😂 I really like all of them but for different reasons.

This time we get more of someones past! I won't say who.. don't want to spoil it 🤭 I don't know what I was expecting from this person's past but it wasn't all of that 😭. Like damn. 🥺 How the author organized this series is just incredible. It's well paced and the entire layout and focus of certain characters each book is perfect. She gives you just enough to satisfy yet also leaves you wanting more. Im definitely left with needing more! 🖤 ESP afrer that WTF ending!!!! 😳🤯Such a great series! Highly reccomend!

This book was intense!
There are so many emotions, revelations and awakenings in this book and they all took me on a roller coaster ride. Throughout the series the characters have really started growing on me, especially the FMC and I feel for her in the many impossible situations she is thrust into.
She is experiencing the feeling of finally being in her villain era, but she just can't catch a break and it really feels like someone or something is trying to teach her a lesson - but which one?
This book is also written in a dual POV style, alternating with another of the three MMCs (like in book 2) and we get to relive his past and experience his present and the back story is just heartbreaking.
The group dynamics have again shifted and the spice is off the charts 🔥🔥🔥
The story ends on a major cliff hanger and I am expecting soooo much action and drama in the next book. I can't wait!

3.5/5

i liked it and yet i feel like it dragged in some parts.

the beginning and the end were pretty good.

the middle was harder to enjoy, although i did like the sex scenes and group scenes.

also the pace with nathaniel was quite quick and i dont get how he went from the cold mf to a man calling her baby just bc she let him fuck her once or twice.

anyway… i hope next book is the final one.

I fell in love with this book. The story line follows the first and second book so well, you can pick up where you left off. You can read it as a stand alone as well as with the series. I recommend you read them all together. Penn is a fantastic writer.

the author promised us dark entertainment and what I read was even better, a dark sexy romance. This time we got to know the background of how Talon lived and the ending left me so torn that I can't wait for the sequel.. I would watch this book as a movie..

I think was a great addition to the series!
It picks after the previous book and held my attention throughout. With so much going on in this book, with a few twists and turns, and learning more!
I continue to love our FMC and her guys.
I cant wait for the next book!
