Can a child's simple understanding of love and friendship be what they need to bring them back together?
"One Promise" is a story of the heartache we suffer with life's painful twists and turns, the frailities of being human and the unparalleled joy that comes with letting love into our lives.
I finally understand what others mean when they write a review saying, "there's too much telling and not enough showing" 'cause that's how this felt in the first half or so of the book. When I read the book's description I thought this would really hit me in the feels, and while the story is good, it didn't really pack the punch I was expecting.
Roller coater of emotion. Teresa Parker and her nephew Brian doing the best they can with the support of friends, dealing with a life challenge neither of them expected. Madeline Geddes, caring and ready to do what is needed for her students and especially Brian. Both main characters are dealing with the aftermath of a relationship break-up. Enjoyed the humor and emotional charged one liner about love, caring, and promise. This read is a reminder to enjoy every minute of life surrounded by the people you love.
Brilliant storyline, realistic characters. Romance, humour and tragedy. Reminds us of the fragility of life. This book creates a lot of emotions but it's a journey worth taking. The author has an incredible ability to keep you interested from the first to the last word. I really enjoyed it.
