A bit clunky but still another well-rounded entry in a series that’s just getting better.
The fixing of the issues of this series that began a couple of books back continues in Book 10. Where most series start to stagnate, this series is actually getting better. That said, the clunkiness of the first part of this book I have to count off for.
I won’t go into too much detail about the issues being resolved so well by the author in the last three books now, I’ve gone into more detail on those prior two reviews, but I will say that fixing of the problems of this series continues in Book 10. MC even comments on cleaning up his stat sheet, so we know the author knows this is a problem and he’s slowly working on it.
I also feel like the shift to a new system in this book as a great way to sow seeds for the future of this series and even hint at the ending for the first time. However, the beginning of this book making the appearance in the new universe and new system along with the early interactions with a couple of new allies, being Clay and Tad, are super clunky. There’s a phrase in writing called “show don’t tell”, but there’s a lot of telling, basically exposition and lore dumping to frame up the situation for this book. The author should have spent more time cleaning this up. The trust between the MC, his team and these two new allies boils down to “I feel like I can trust you bro.” So instead of getting a realistic character arc for these new relationship, we just skip to the end.
Add to this the return of a crafting element to the story despite not touching on it for multiple books and not investing in any progression in it yet effortlessly having all the advanced new abilities with it, added to the clunkiness of the story.
But I appreciate this was one fully encapsulated story that also set up future stories. There’s a clear beginning and end to this book and a handful of interesting dungeon delves to go along with the host of interesting characters and systems and whatnot.
So in summary, another good entry in the series, better than most books. But I feel it was rather unpolished and the needed editing was pushed aside because it wasn’t recognized, which is a bad sign, or it didn’t seem worth the effort to the author. And if it’s the latter, he’s probably right, I doubt most readers would care. So a solid four star, good not great entry in a series that’s just getting better at the ten book mark unlike so many other series out there.

Need some better editing
The story is still engaging but it also feels like the author is pulling arcs out of his behind.
That being said, the editing needs some serious work. A character is basically a rogue/assassin, gets an artifact level dagger as a reward and is later on fighting with a hammer. Poorly, I might add. MC has a whole arc dedicated to fighting not only blind but deaf and later on in the story after significant growth is immediately blinded from an attack that should have done nothing. The worst offense is the repetitive padding by system notifications/status sheets. MC reads about his quest and status upgrades, then does it again the very next chapter and acknowledges that no changes took place. It's not like this is a small book that needs extra padding either. I feel like roughly 15% of this book is just repetitive excess. It would also be nice if female characters were capable of having conversations that didn't include just talking about their men folk.

Extremely cool cross-system elements
This book is a bit more disjointed than the previous books in the series. That's partly the cost of speed and partly the cost of introducing and expanding other magic systems to more deeply explore the role of a System Mediator. Ultimately, I think it was worth it. The cross-system elements are deeply integrated in this book in a way they previously haven't been and there are hints that it will be even more so in the next.
I'm looking forward to it.

Welcome new chapter
The fight for Earth has paused and the main threat seems to have passed but Silas also attracts trouble and so we find another system in need of help.
Nice new ideals and characters with another revealed deeper truth. Oswald excels at this series and each books just gives you more with every chapter. Love it and looking forward to what else has been hinted at for book 11

A slog to get through
The book was so difficult to get through. The stats are getting overwhelming. I know you can skip them, but I’m also afraid of missing some crucial. This book just went into too much detail on everything. Dungeon runs, golems then finding the path forward for everyone. For me, the story just didn’t keep my attention. I enjoyed the majority of this series, so I’m hoping the next book is more like the first couple of books in this series.

Silas just keeps getting more power ups!
New system who dis?
Yup Silas is gonna be adding fey powers to his roster! And we finally link up with some of Sean's other works! Very fun! We get some cool new crafting and power ups as well for existing abilities, and there's even more! This is a really busy 800+ pages!

Great series
This is a fun series as you would expect from the author. One of the best parts is the bringing in of characters from other series. I am excited to see the next book and how the author will mix the genres.

fun read

Very good read.
I enjoyed reading this book very much and I recommend this book to anyone who likes LitRPG and progression types of books with lots of action.
