I lived on rural, rustic Shikoku for a year, and a vivid memory is the white pilgrims walking the sacred 88 temple pilgrimage passing through my town of Nankoku. A neat enough guide giving a temple by temple account of the route. On my travel bucket list, would LOVE to do this one day.

Wonderful Flashbacks to a city break in Matsuyama, incl Dogo Onsen, hiking weekend in the Iya Valley incl scarecrow village, Takamatsu mini break including Ritsurin koen, Shikoku village and the Yakaura cable car, stunning art island Naoshima, the awe of kochi - jo, weekends at shimanto - gawa, yosakoi! induction, a sunny Saturday at katsurahama and of course katsuo tataki at hirome ichiba.

Take me back !
