I’ve read this author before, and I enjoyed the last book by them. This book felt like it was written by somebody completely different. The whole story felt rushed and sloppily put together. It was really disappointing.

I received an advanced copy of "A Nanny For The Bratva Boss" by Imani Jay and will share my honest opinion of the book.
Well, this was sadly not as entertaining as other works by Ms. Imani Jay. I'm well aware that these books are over the top and have a possessive male lead and an innocent female lead, and we were also warned by the author herself, "Fun, unhinged smut, with a sprinkling of trope", but I still had issues with the plot, execution, and inconsistencies especially regarding our MMC.
**Spoilers ahead**
Our leads are Maya and Mikhail. Maya has financial troubles and hence has to stay at the pool house of her helping friend, who happens to be married to a Bratva man. For the last three weeks our FMC has been crushing on a very handsome man, Mikhail, who also is a part of the Russian Mafia, is the cousin of said friend's husband, and runs past Maya's place at **s crack of dawn, but our little Maya happens to be watering plants at the exact same time with very "casual" slutty clothing to get Mikhail's attention. She doesn't stop there and also stalks him when he is at home or on his balcony having his coffee, of course "shirtless", because obviously, common 😅. Doing so, Maya thinks Mikhail doesn't notice her or know she exists. But of course not!! Mikhail is very much aware and is lusting over her as well but doesn't do anything about it and ignores her completely, which is so hot and attractive and makes Maya's panties melt.
Very early on in the story, Mikhail has to babysit his niece because the mother can't afford a nanny or anything else, and Mikhail, being a Bratva man, doesn't do anything relating to that (I'm not looking for action, plot, or long description here; just mentioning him going to work and doing his Mafia duties would give us at least the impression that he belongs to the organization, because it's in the title of the book and of the book series) and accepts.
As we find out, he did in fact babysit his niece countless other times "by himself" but can't do it this time around. So he uses this opportunity to knock on Maya's door, tell her to come and take care of his niece all caveman-style (not asking, which is very important), and take her with him.
How did we get here? Why this huge leap!? Honey, you're not a nanny, nor did you apply for the job. Why aren't you even thinking once about this? I know I shouldn't be trying to make much sense of these novellas, but still, there has to be some sort of weak link between plots and actions.
And the very reason why Mikhail ignored her for three weeks while flaunting his muscles was because she was his cousin's guest (very noble 😇), but taking her without convincing consent from the pool house into his own makes it ok to make a move on her? So your problem was with location ??😂 If your love or attraction or lust or whatever is forbidden because this person is the best friend of your cousin's wife, then the nanny version of her should be uber-forbidden.
Maya, of course, who finds his attitude and "grunts" very hot and the niece super-cute 😍 just tags along. She "takes care" of the child (sleeps through her morning where she goes to school), and the uncle takes care of her. The END
I can't stress enough that I understand the concept and format of these shorts, but as I mentioned above, the plotlines still have to make a little sense. This shouldn't be too difficult given the fact that these books are very short (hence the name) and there isn't a very complicated plot to work through.
I give it three stars because it delivers on the smut and its unhinged nature, but even that feels a little forced, since there is no push and pull and thus no build-up. So sadly not a reread for me.

A Nanny For The Bratva Boss de Imani Jay serie Holidays with the Bratva libro 1
Argumento:
Él no preguntó. Él tomó.
Llevo semanas deseando a mi vecino, guapísimo y gruñón.
Maya has been quietly lusting after her best friend’s sinfully gorgeous, older neighbor for weeks. Who could blame her? Every morning, he jogs by, shirtless and glistening, like some kind of Olympian god. Honestly, what woman wouldn’t sneak a peek at those carved-from-stone abs? The only problem is that Mikhail doesn’t seem to notice her at all. Not even when she stages a totally casual, definitely-not-planned moment watering the plants in her cutest, borderline scandalous outfit. He just jogs past as if she’s literally part of the landscape. What Maya doesn’t know is that Mikhail is very aware of the curvy beauty living in his neighbor’s pool house. And when he suddenly needs help looking after his niece, Sophia, he seizes the perfect excuse to get Maya under his roof. Subtlety? Please. As if these mafia men were wired for that sort of thing. His invitation is more “You’re coming with us” than “I could use your help.” Sophia’s innocent reprimand of “Uncle Misha, you’re supposed to ask nicely” was pure gold, especially when he grunts like a caveman and she follows it up with, “He does that a lot,” like it was just an accepted fact of nature. I loved the way Mikhail stood in the doorway of the pool house as Maya packed. Hovering. Watching. Practically vibrating with impatience to get her into his bed. If only Maya knew that everything about her drives him wild and that once she’s in his house, she may be staying for a while. Mikhail is gloriously over-the-top in every possible way, and that’s exactly why we love him. The chemistry snaps, the tension sizzles, and this fast-paced novella is loaded with enough steam to fog up your Kindle. Sure, everything unfolds at lightning speed—but honestly? This is the kind of delicious, no-brakes escapism romance readers devour in one sitting. If you love a possessive, growly mafia hero who can’t keep his hands (or eyes) off the juicy next-door neighbor turned accidental nanny, this little firecracker of a book is calling your name. A Nanny for the Bratva is an absolute must-read for anyone who loves their romance heroes protective, their heroines spirited, and their happily-ever-afters guaranteed. This book takes the delicious heat of a Bratva romance and blends it seamlessly with the charming, low-stakes tension of a neighbor-crush-turned-forced-proximity story.
The premise is instantly captivating: Maya has been nursing a crush on her gorgeous, intimidating neighbor, Mikhail, who has been expertly playing it cool. That quiet neighborly tension explodes when a family crisis leaves Mikhail—the powerful, decisive man who seemingly notices nothing—in unexpected need of a nanny for his young niece. Enter Maya, the perfect solution and the woman he’s been secretly craving.
From the moment Maya and Mikhail are thrown together, the sparks are undeniable. The author has crafted two characters who are perfectly matched.
Maya is relatable and warm, but the real star of this show is Mikhail. He embodies the best of the protective hero archetype. This is a man who knows what he wants, and as the reader quickly learns, he wants Maya. There is no frustrating back-and-forth or miscommunication drama; Mikhail is decisive, dominant, and focused.
This book is a breath of fresh air—a pure, unadulterated escapism. It delivers all the possessive, sweeping romance you crave while allowing the characters (and the reader!) to simply fall in love without navigating unnecessary historical drama or trauma. If you’re looking for a book that focuses purely on the undeniable chemistry and the journey to a mutual, joyful happily-ever-after, this is it.

This Mafia romance tested my patience in every possible way. Let’s start with the female main character: she accomplishes nothing throughout the entire book. She gets pushed around from scene to scene, nodding, smiling, and apparently fine with everyone deciding her life for her. Zero backbone, zero agency, zero sense.
And the male main character? He communicates exclusively in grunts. Full sentences seem to be beyond his abilities. Honestly, the six-year-old niece—who is the reason the “nanny” plot exists in the first place—holds better, more coherent conversations than both adults combined. That alone should tell you something.
But let’s continue with the inconsistencies. The niece is staying with her uncle because her parents are ill, and she’s not supposed to catch that illness… yet everyone kisses her goodbye. As if germs take a holiday during emotional moments. They’re all living in the same house (more a mansion than a house), so the “protect the child from germs” argument goes out the window anyway.
Then there’s the meddling best friend, who is off on her honeymoon while our FMC is supposed to house-sit. Except she isn’t house-sitting anymore—she’s too busy playing nanny to her grunting neighbor. Logic? None. Continuity? Missing. My frustration? Sky high.
I honestly don’t know how the heroine survived long enough to become an adult, given the way she thinks and behaves. And I have even less idea what the author was thinking while writing all these contradictions into the story.
If you enjoy coherent characters, consistent decisions, or a plot that respects basic logic, this book is… not it.

*A Nanny for the Bratva Boss* by Imani Jay is the fourth book in the fun *Holiday with the Bratva* series! I absolutely loved this delightful, short instalove story featuring Maya and Mikhail. It’s the perfect quick read for a cozy afternoon.
Maya is enjoying some time at her best friend's pool house while her friend is off on her honeymoon. She’s been admiring the handsome neighbor, Mikhail, who seems to be clueless about her feelings! But everything changes when Mikhail gets a call from his sister, who says she’s unwell and needs him to take care of his adorable niece. Suddenly, he remembers Maya and thinks she'd be the ideal nanny!
Once Mikhail sees how wonderful Maya is with his niece, he realizes she’s meant to be in his life forever, and he’s not going to let her slip away. That’s when the romance really starts to heat up!
So, grab your favorite snack, snuggle up, and get ready to enjoy this charming, spicy age gap story. With no cheating and no drama, it’s an easy, fun read that you can finish in no time!

Suspend reality and get ready for all the steam! This book delivered on the OTT possessive MC in Bratva boss Mikhail, although I’m not really sure how the whole Bratva thing came into play or where he really was in the hierarchy there. All we know is he doesn’t talk much, doesn’t let anyone close, and is huge…in all the ways. Maya is broke, living in her best friends pool house and lightly stalking Mikhail for weeks. How he wrangles her to come home with him and stay is adorable and from there the steamy times commence! A lot of it didn’t make sense for real life, but that’s the fun of these books sometimes! Not a big fan of when MC’s talk/think about past intimate times with woman, but it wasn’t much in this one. Also kind of wanted him to lean into the Daddy thing. He said it once, I got all excited because he was giving major Daddy vibes before that too, and then that was it. Nothing else was mentioned and she didn’t even mention that time. No cheating or OM/OW drama, virgin FMC, dual POV, lite breeding kink, HEA and an epilogue in the future. I haven’t read Dmitry’s book yet, so that’ll be on my list!
Maya has hit a low in life. She is looking for employment, staying at her friend’s house, and entertaining herself every morning lusting after her neighbor Mikhail during his morning run. This interaction will give you a good laugh reading about Maya’s antics. Little does she know, Mikhail knows that she is watching and he is hanging on by a thread every morning not making a move on her. That all ends when he has to care for his neice and needs help. This book has a little bit of it all. Grumpy/sunshine, Holiday Antics, Instalove, Super Cute Kid, Super Spicy 🥵, Humor, and an Obsessive/Possessive-Alpha male. The chemistry between Maya and Mikhail is 🔥and there are plenty of doses of it in this book. Mikhail is that grump w/ everyone else but a sweetheart w/ his niece and shows adoration and sweetness w/ Maya. He’s a downright softy for the women in his life. When Mikhail makes Maya his, there is no turning back. He shows it in every single way. Loved this quick holiday read and I think you will too. Check it out.

Maya is house sitting for Ana, but not really consider who Ana’s husband is and who lives next door. What she is doing is trying to get herself back on her feet and find her way to stability despite the ever growing pile of rejection letters she is accumulating. Mikhail lives next door, he jogs past where Maya is staying every day. He doesn’t stop, doesn’t talk but he wants to and would is Maya wasn’t off limits. Off limits until his sister gets sick and he needs someone other than him to help take care of his niece. Maya agrees to help not fully realizing that once she’s in his house, his life, she’s never leaving. Mikhail has a plan, get his woman and keep her with him. Told from dual POV this is a spicy short with humor and heat. It’s part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

I loved everything about this book. Maya has tried for weeks to get Mikhail's attention as he lived next door to her best friend. She had been staying there while trying to find a job. She did everything she could think of to catch this sexy man's attention, and he didn't even flicker a look or give any indication he knew she was even there. Unknown to her Mikhail was fighting an attraction to her but he was warned off of her by her best friends husband. Mikhail's sister calls him and needs help in him taking care of his niece so her and her husband can get over being so sick. Mikhail goes over and grabs Maya to help him look after his niece. I laughed so hard at how Mikhail just decides that Maya is his now and he grunts his answers lol and the girls interpret what he means. The chemistry is off the charts and I enjoyed every moment of this book. This is a must read!!!
This book is a total must-read, seriously delicious!
Imani Jay totally nailed it again with another amazing book in her Bratva series. The blurb just gives you a little peek, but once I started, I was totally hooked and couldn't put it down until I finished.
Maya and Mikhail took me on such an emotional ride. Maya's antics at the start almost made me lose it, if you know what I mean. But Mikhail's crazy side? That's what I loved most. He didn't mess around when it came to Maya, claiming her and loving her. And Mikhail's niece, Sofia, is such a sweetie and, low-key, a total matchmaker.
Nanny for the Bratva Boss was such a good read. It's why Imani Jay is one of my go-to authors. I'd totally recommend this book if you're into instalove stories about a grumpy Bratva boss and his sassy, sunny nanny.
Mafia romance. Maya is a young woman who has come to house-sit for her best friend and her husband during their honeymoon, giving her a break from her life and a chance to reflect on things. She certainly didn't expect to fall for the handsome neighbor. Even less did she expect that after ignoring her for days, he would invite her to his mansion to babysit his niece. Mikhail is a cold and distant mafia boss, but his new neighbor has awakened something within him. So when he has to babysit his niece, one of the people he loves most, he decides he's had enough and brings Maya to his mansion to babysit and take the opportunity to get closer to her. Will Maya and Mikhail have a beautiful love story, or will Maya return to her life after her friend comes back….

A Nanny for the Bratva Boss is a steamy romance whose MFC Maya is staying in her best friend Ana’s pool house while she and husband are away on their honeymoon, and she can get back on her feet. Just so happens the next door neighbor is the husbands cousin, Grumpy Bratva boss Mikhail Maksimov, and Maya has the hots for him in a BIG way! Every morning trying to snag his attention as he jogs by, but he never takes notice of her, at least that is what she thinks. A little short term baby sitting job for his niece brings them together and the script is soon flipped. Enjoyed this little holiday story which was steamy, nicely written with engaging characters delivering a very entertaining read. HEA.

Maya and Mikhail light up the page from the second he yanks her into his world. Mikhail is brooding, overprotective, and a Bratva boss. He doesn’t ask; he just takes. Maya is sweet, soft, and pure sunshine. She knows she should keep her distance from a man like him, but she can’t help falling, and the innocence she brings only makes their spark burn hotter.
Trapped together in his mansion, it’s all heat and tension, with a few surprising moments of tenderness especially when his six-year-old niece gets involved and tugs them closer. The instant love is bold, the obsession is addictive, and the wild holiday atmosphere has just the right amount of chaos and charm.

Lol. Did i like this? Yeah kinda. Was it the best thing written? Definitely not.
First book from this author so didn't know what to expect. This is definitely insta insta lust/love. However, she was not a nanny and what kind of Bratva Boss was he? (No guards ntn lol) How old was he? I couldn't even imagine the fmc, but one statement where he said her skin was darker against his (tan) I’m to believe she’s black? Though 97 pages is really short, we could’ve gotten a bit more background of both characters but i guess this was just for the spice.
If this was a longer book I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed it.
For Maya, it was lust at first sight. For Mikhail, he played it cool. Had this girl thinking she was thirsty. But little did she know he had been watching her all along. When he had to look after his little niece because her parents were sick, he made his move. The way he captured Maya’s and treated her is what dreams are made of. I love instant attraction. I love Insta love. These two for me are couple goals. He knew what he wanted and he didn’t stop until he got her. She knew what she wanted and she let it happen. I love this story. You will not be disappointed when you read this one.

This was 94 pages of a whirlwind romance. Fast paced and everything happens quick, it is definitely an insta… everything. No slow burn. Maya (23) is hooked on Mikhail from the beginning add in his adorable chatty six year old niece and it is ovary explosion. Well written and I really enjoyed Maya stakeouts and her pep talks.
You will not get any real Bratva or mafia anything in the story. The holiday aspect is minimal but it is in there.
Grumpy/sunshine • Forced proximity • Holiday chaos • This man doesn’t do slow burns, he does claiming - Short, steamy instalove everything romance.
Imani Jay's: A Nanny for the Bratva Boss: Holidays with the Bratva was enjoyable and exactly what you anticipate with an instalove romance! A good premise and consistent story, with not too much detail that you get caught up. Loved the way that Mikhail and Maya communicated, seemed that less was just enough. This titles was a standalone but is certainly part of a series with other Bratva appearances, which really adds to the plot of this quick and dirty read! Looking forward to what else I'll see from Imani Jay!

This is Mikhail and Maya's story. Maya is house sitting and drooling over the neighbor. When we first meet Maya, she's a wimpy girl who's crushing on the neighbor. We later find out that Mikhail returns the attraction but because she's off limits staying at Dmitri's house. He ends up taking care of his niece because his sister and hubby are under the weather. That didn't really add up but this one moved super-fast so suspend belief. He decides he needs help and gets Maya to help. Things take off really quickly from there. It was a great brain break. This was a fun and OTT romance between Bratva boss, Mikail/Misha and financially strapped Maya. She's been staying at her friends house while looking for work and drooling over the hot neighbour as he jogs by every morning. She thinks he doesn't notice her but he's very much aware of her eyes on him, every day ;P He's not much for talking so when he finds himself needing someone to help watch his beloved niece, he basically grabs her. Lol! She was so there for it but even she, in her wildest dreams, never expected her crush to be made real and in such a hot way. Definitely spicy, this was a fun fast read :D
This book was such an easy page turner I blew threw it in a day! The initial dynamic was very sexy. A shy girl who is pining for this untouchable man's attention, this trope will always reel me in. The spicy scenes were perfect, it never felt corny or over the top. Definitely will be moments to make you clutch your pearls. The writing is easily digestible and makes for a pleasurable read. I would have loved for this book to be a little longer, but I know Imani Jay has plenty of books to satiate many readers for weeks.

Maya is broke and looking for a job, she is staying at her best friend's pool house while she is on her honeymoon. She is out there watering flowers to get her daily dose of eye candy, in the form of Mikhail Maksimov on his daily run. She greets him but he just seems to look past her. What she does not know is that he is very aware of her but it is not until he has to watch his niece that he makes it know. He moves her into his house with the little girl.
She has no idea he is never letting her leave. This is a steamy read with plenty of amusement thanks to Maya and Sofia.

Maya and Mikhail are like that one candy brand that melts in your mouth and not your hand. He's possessive and obsessive as any Bratva book boyfriend with his hard candy shell and all the grunts instead of words, but he has a soft spot for his girl and his niece. Maya is sweet and a little awkward trying to get his attention but it makes her so endearing because a lot of us can relate. Their chemistry outside of the bedroom is great and inside it, it's off the charts. I enjoyed it.

I’ve read some of Imani Jay’s other books and I’m obsessed!
Maya and Misha’s story is no different! This book had me laughing right from the start! I relate to Maya so much and will definitely be taking a page out of her book on how to get your crush’s attention!
Their mutual attraction when they interact is instantaneous and I got so lost in their story, I couldn’t put this book down! Throw in the cuteness overload that is Misha’s niece and this was a short, sweet and spicy holiday read! My favorite!
Look, its either in or out with these Bratva guys! And Maya gave me a bit of a tickle with her you-gone-see-me antics.
Mikhail... I mean, expect nothing else other than a focused over-the-top alpha who doesn't have an off switch when he settles on the "target" of his affections. Once that happens, she ends up loving it. Right on-brand.
They guys are so out of line, and we probably shouldn't, but we can't help but love them in the end.
