Big Top Pizzeria is a notorious mall pizzeria known for its smiling employees dressed in classic clown attire and hot pies topped with the most delicious and freshest meats. A true one-of-a-kind experience customers of all ages can appreciate… as long as you don’t mind the occasional rat or two.
The best part of Big Top is its top-notch employees, including Crissa, the green-haired social outcast who possesses a truly dangerous appetite, hungry for more than just pizza. While she may struggle to find a true friend, finding herself abandoned by her once friend group, she realizes it’s never too late to make one…especially if said friend has all the best parts of her old ones.
What better dish to serve those who turned their backs on her than a hot, cheesy slice of revenge.
Clowns, Pizza, Revenge. Will they survive?
The Nightshift is a dark, classic 80's horror with gore, erotic horror, and numerous dark themes. Please check triggers prior to reading.
Ab. Cynthe is an International Best Selling author who decided to create this specific pen name to showcase her darker, spicier, more horrific works. She is known for her retellings and monsters and has close to a dozen published works in total, with many more set to release within the next year.
If you're in search of a short read packed with triggering chaos, look no further.
That... holy shit. When Ab said horror, she absolutely meant it. Her and Aimee did such an amazing job with this story! The amount of times I had to step back and be like holy shit did that just happen? I got hooked in from the beginning and if I wasn't so tired last night I would have finished it in one night because they definitely keep you intrigued.
Pizza 🍕 rats 🐀 clowns 🤡 revenge 🔪 What more could you ask for? Ab. Cynthe and Aimee-Jo Hunter DID NOT disappoint with this 80s horror. The authors created such a phenomenal story with the attention to details it made you feel like you were watching the story instead reading it. The main character Crissa experiences so much that any one of us would feel the same way she did. She meets Zeth who helps those who hurt Crissa get what they deserved.
This book does come with content/ trigger warnings which are clearly stated at the begging and little alerts from our demon friend Zeth throughout the book, highly recommend making sure you read them as your mental health matters. I would 1000% recommend this book.
What you can expect when reading: - 1980s - Horror - Cannibalism - Torture - Gore - Unexpected friends - Cat and mouse And more.
The sane part of my brain tells me that I shouldn't be as obsessed with this book as I am. But the part of me that needs to be checked in for a straight jacket vacay literally could not get enough of this book.
I can't say that I've ever said I'm obsessed with a demon.. but here I am (mom if you see this please stop reading and keep scrolling). Zeth is my absolute favorite being to have ever existed. Love him. LOVE.
It was so hard to not devour this book in one sitting, @kaayybe sorry for speeding past you babe 😂
This book gave a whole new meaning to pepperoni nipples ( IYKYK @misreadmissi ) and I honestly don't know if I'll be able to eat pizza any time soon.
This book ATE! Absolutely wild! You have got to be an actual horror/slasher lover if you're going to read this, and extra brownie points if you've seen the movie May. Our FMC Crissa has this "great" friend group and guy she's always wanted. Cut to a year later and she's alone, stuck working in a clown pizzeria, and those so called "friends" ditched her for some insanely mean girl, who bullies her relentlessly. The rage I felt on Crissa's behalf was intense. Check your trigger warnings! She gets her ✨️delicious✨️ revenge with the help of a Demon named Zeth and some very helpful rats. That's when things get really dark, gross and crazy. I literally set my kindle down a couple times while reading to chuckle at the absurd disgustingness of it. Absolutely horrific. There is "spice" sprinkled about, but it's not romantic. It's not horror romance...I mean maybe the ending is romantic in a way 👀
A brutal tale of bullying, revenge and friendship.
The Nightshift was a violent read that does not hold back, especially in the second half of the story. The brutality and gore was absolutely fantastic, the use of a pizza cutter and that specialised pizza was *chefs kiss*.
For me, the first half of this novel was very slow placed and it struggled to keep my attention. When we got around two thirds in, this was when shit hit the fan and all hell broke loose, leaving me hooked!
I wish we got more backstory and chatacter depth regarding the bullies. However, the author did write them exceptionally well as I don't think I've ever despised characters as much as I did them.
I resonated alot with our protagonist Crissa as I too would rather be friends with rats over humans.
A brutally bloody book with a questionable happy and wholesome ending! (Also, justice for Tawny, she deserved better!!!)
Thank you so much to the authors for an advanced copt of The Nightshift, all views and opinions are my and have been left voluntarily.
“Memories of those now distant happy times flooded my thoughts. But those don’t exist anymore. They’re nothing more than breathless memories painted across my soul, constantly reminding me of what I once had and can never get back. Just painful ghosts that forever haunt me and remind me of what I lost.”
📗 The Nightshift ✍🏻 AB Cynthe ✍🏻 Aimee-Jo Hunter
This book was so incredibly unhinged on a level that I would only expect from these two. There were truly so many “WTF?!” moments, I lost count. This book gave me Jennifer’s Body vibes, mixes with the nostalgia of the 80s. If you’re looking to be entertained and a little (or a lot) grossed out- look no further.
📖 What’s in the book? 🍕Er0tïc horror 🐀80s horror 🍕Demonic possession 🐀Revenge 🍕Body horror 🐀People eater

I can't stress this enough. Make sure to check those triggers before diving in because AB Cynthe & Aimee-Jo Hunter takes us on one twisted ride where revenge and horror reigns supreme. And I mean heavy on the horror and gore.
So eating some pizza while reading this may not be the best move. 😬
“Mmm. Revenge really is the sweetest meal of all.”
Keep your friends close... and eat those friends if they betray you. I think that's how the saying goes. At least I think that's what Zeth would say.
This was everything my Goosebumps-loving heart as a kid needed as an adult. Think 80s slasher meets demon horror and I was completely hooked. I’m big into campy horror and this did not disappoint. The setting alone was wild, a creepy mall pizzeria staffed by clown-costumed employees, and the story fully leaned into that chaotic campy horror energy.
It had that nostalgic, slightly unhinged 80s horror vibe with plenty of gore, dark humor, and moments that made me cringe and want to look away while being completely unable to. Crissa was such a fascinating character too, equal parts unsettling and oddly sympathetic.
Fuck a fake friend, where your real friends at? energy at its FINEST.
Carissa have been abandoned by her friend group and one new member does all to make her life a living hell. That’s a big mistake. Carissa is hungry for more than just pizza and revenge.
The Nightshift is an gory erotic horror where we follow Carissa who is working at a clown themed pizzaria called Big Top Pizzaria. She’s alone, a social outcast, and longing for a friend. It dosn’t help that her old friend group have frozen her out and the new group member is making sure to make her life a living hell.
Remember that this is an gory horror erotica. Read you triggers before reading.
Is it weird that I’m craving pizza after finishing this? I absolutely loved Crissa (my autocorrect wanted to make her name crisis and I feel that fitting to include here) and Zeth is actually such a sweet demon 🫶🏼 the ending really surprised me and I lowkey hope we get a sequel!
Please make sure you check your trigger and content warnings before reading this
I'm going to start this by saying that wow! I am speechless because I loved it! I can't say too much because I don't want to give anything away.
Crissa and her friends are hanging out at a pizza place and they are playing 7 minutes in heaven. It goes from her hanging out with her friends to her working at Big Top pizza. One night she is working and those very same "friends" from the beginning of the book come into the pizza place and things aren't the same. She doesn't understand what happened between all of them and why they are no longer friends. Ever since they stopped being friends all they have done is bully her and treat her terribly.
When one night Crissa is ready to end it all because she can't take it much longer. She summons a demon named Zeth and things take a very unexpected turn. He is ready to help her get revenge on all of them.
Revenge Never Sleeps… and Neither Will You After This
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️
The Nightshift wastes absolutely no time—and honestly? I’m not mad about it. Starting off with a sex scene immediately told me this book was going to be right up my alley, and it definitely delivers on that dark, addictive energy.
As the story unfolds, I couldn’t help but get vibes similar to the Nightmares on Lull Lane series, especially with that eerie, creeping sense of possession. Watching the main character fall under Zeth’s influence was equal parts unsettling and fascinating. This isn’t just a possession story—it’s a full-on transformation fueled by pain, anger, and the need for revenge.
And let me just say: I love a good revenge plot, especially when it’s rooted in something as heavy as betrayal and assault. There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing her take her power back, even as things spiral into darker territory. Zeth’s role in helping her exact that revenge adds this chilling, almost seductive layer to the chaos.
One line that really stuck with me:
“Women were created to fix the original design of man, which had many, many flaws. And these men before you, are the sad truth that even a god can make a mistake.”
That quote alone perfectly captures the tone of the story—sharp, haunting, and unapologetically brutal. The writing is incredibly descriptive in the best way. You don’t just read what’s happening—you feel like you’re right there in the middle of it, walking those same dark passages. It makes every moment hit harder, especially as things get more intense (and unsettling).
And I have to mention… the body parts. I’m very curious (and slightly horrified) to see what Zeth is planning with everything he’s collecting. There’s clearly something bigger building beneath the surface, and I’m equal parts excited and nervous to find out where it’s going.
Overall, The Nightshift is dark, gripping, and not afraid to push boundaries. If you love revenge-driven plots, possession themes, and stories that blur the line between justice and something far more sinister—this one is absolutely worth the read.

Thank you so much for the gifted digital copy of The Nightshift @ab.cynthe and Aimee-Jo Hunter! I was absolutely enthralled with this horror erotica! It was so amazingly gruesome that I wanted to throw up but still managed to eat my spicy noodles. lol!
This book gave death note and Frankenstein vibes with creepy clowns and demons. The nightshift starts off with our fmc, Crissa, hanging out with her group of friends where we get the deets on Crissa and Monty. However, new girl, Sybil, shows up and everything goes to shit. She convinces Crissa’s friends to drop her and in comes all the bullying. The bullying gets really intense and excessive to the point where Crissa gets assaulted/sexually assaulted, and so much more awful things done to her.
One day on her break at work she goes into this bookshop and finds a blank journal that catches her eye. She takes it home and starts writing in it. Little does she know this journal has a big secret an in comes her revenge on her old friend group.
Zeth, not Seth, is our Mmc who also happens to be a demon who helps Crissa exact her revenge. Zeth is so damn hilarious. The funniest demon I’ve ever read. He was an absolute hoot!
It you like horror erotica, I would absolutely recommend The Nightshift. Maybe don’t eat while reading it though. As always please read the TW/CW before diving in!
Erotic horror with clowns, pizza, rats and revenge. Please check the TW/CW before reading! Your mental health matters.
This was a fun, wild ride. I loved the little intermissions from Zeth and how he warned the reader about what’s happening. The beginning was great, the first chapter about what happened last summer immediately had me hooked. And I loved how long that chapter was! It really showed the dynamic and friendship between the characters.
I really liked Crissa as a main character and I loved how she got her revenge. Her rat friends were a cute addition and I loved how they also played a part in the story.
The characters got exactly what they deserved and the ending (or the visual of Crissa, Zeth & rats at the end) made me laugh.
“We always just sit down here, get high, and eat. Can’t we mix things up? I’m fucking bored.” “Friends don’t let friends starve.” “Alright now remember, just smile and pretend you don’t hate your fucking life right now. Put on a show and it’ll be over before you know it.” “Mmm. I’d almost forgotten how delicious human blood tasted. Especially when it’s filled with such a hunger for revenge.” “So…which of you would like to die first? Oh! But a fair warning…none of your deaths will be swift or easy. I shall make sure of it.” “Mmm. Revenge really is the sweetest meal of all.” “I stand corrected. You did have a heart after all.”
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
I devoured this bad boy late last night and my god, it was the perfect midnight treat. Dark, twisted, and completely addictive.
It's 1986, and Crissa just wants to be left alone. Cast out by the friends who once meant everything to her, she's become their favorite target... someone to mock, torment, and push until there's nothing left. But when Crissa stumbles across a ritual of retribution, she decides she's done being the one who suffers.
Enter Zeth.
Bound to a demonic entity who promises power, protection, and something that almost feels like loyalty, Crissa finally has the means to fight back. Revenge has never looked so tempting... or tasted so good. What follows is bloody, satisfying chaos as Crissa learns just how far she's willing to go and how much darkness she's willing to embrace.
Zeth might be a demon, but there's something strangely comforting about him too. Watching their dynamic unfold was one of my favourite parts of the story. The whispers, the promises, the hunger for vengeance... it all feels deliciously dangerous.
"Humans do taste so delicious. Especially when they are knocking on death's door."
And honestly, one line kept echoing in my head the entire time:
"I am your friend. Forever."
Dark, sharp, and wickedly fun, The Nightshift is the kind of story you start "just for a chapter" and suddenly it's 2 a.m. and you've finished the whole thing.
If you like revenge stories, demons with personality, and horror that bites back, you'll want this one on your shelf.
Thank you to the authors for this arc. All the thoughts expressed above for my own!
I read this as an arc read. It did not disappoint. I loved everything about this book. For someone who is squeamish. Not to mention I fucking hate rats. I survived this book was happy I did. If I didn’t have to work I would have read it faster.
This is a lot of triggers in this book. There is no romance, this is no love. All our FMC friends got what they deserved. Crissa is our main character. Who has her friends just turn their backs on her for no reason. Except this bitch Sybil. Who just has so much hate for our dear Crissa
After having enough and her ex friends pull a “prank” which ends up being literally horrific. Crissa as enough.
The book that found her at the bookstore is here to help her. Where she summons the demon Zeth. Who infact gets her revenge. It’s extremely insane, bloody and chaotic. At the pizzeria she works at Big Top. She also gets to dresses as a clown. One by one her friends are in for a surprise. Have fun reading about a possessed girl dressed as a clown. With some rad friends.
Oh did I mention her new friends are rats. They come in very handy.
Ohhh the ending was WILD. You will have to read it to find out how it ends, what went down. How they all got there.
Will your survive? Will you be able to stomach it?

I am actually concerned for myself after this book because WHAT WAS THAT
This was chaotic gross unhinged and somehow still addictive and I could not stop reading it. Like I needed to know what was going to happen next even when I was side eyeing the page like why am I enjoying this
First of all the vibes pizza clowns rats demons revenge ??? say less
Crissa had me feeling everything. The anger the frustration the rage I was ready to fight for her. Watching her go from being treated like absolute trash to getting her revenge was so satisfying I was literally cheering. Justice was served and it was messy
And Zeth I am not even going to pretend to be normal about him this demon was everything chaotic helpful terrifying and somehow likable like why am I rooting for this
The story is DARK dark like you need to check your triggers because this does not hold back at all it is gory disturbing and straight up wild but that is also what made it impossible to put down
There were multiple times I had to pause and just sit there like did that really just happen because it just keeps escalating and getting more insane
Also the fact that it feels like you are watching a movie instead of reading the writing pulls you all the way in and does not let go
The plot the revenge the chaos the characters everything just worked I finished this like hello ??? what did I just experience and why do I kind of love it
If you like horror that is unhinged messy and will make you question yourself this is for you
I am disturbed obsessed and fully entertained all at once
The Nightshift was everything I wanted it to be and so much more. From the very second this story started being teased I was so excited for it, and it did not disappoint!
The Nightshift has horror, gore, rats, clowns, lots of pizza, and more if you'll believe it! The aesthetic of this book is very nostalgic with Big Top Pizzeria.
The Nightshift focuses on Crissa and her group of friends, the group of friends that ends up backstabbing her - all for some new mean girl. Every single time Sybil is mentioned in this book my eye twitches. I could not stand her, and I definitely could not stand that Crissas "friends" let her in so easily; abandoning someone that had been there for such a long time like they were nothing. I'm going to say it, everything that happens to that group of friends is deserved.
This story was really unique to me; summoning a demon to help get revenge on the group of friends who wronged you. The control the demon has, the switch outs, all of it was really interesting! I like Zeth a lot, such a fun character. I wonder how different things would have gone for me if I had my own Zeth...
If you love horror (80's and analog), possession, interesting friendships with rats, and some deliciously cheesy revenge, the nightshift is the book for you! Remember to grab a napkin, things might get a lil messy!
I absolutely loved this book and devoured it whole, I even went in for some seconds! Ab Cynthe and Aimee-Jo are an incredible writing duo and I can't wait to read the next project they have planned together.
This one hurt my feelings. I don't think I've ever read an Aimee-Jo Hunter special, and this collaboration seemed to flow really well. This was more of a horror than anything erotic or really smutty. There was very minimal spice and mostly only in a slasher style scene and not really in an attractive or hot fashion. This is really just a revenge plot. Friends and lovers hurt the girl, the girl gets herself a demon to help her enact her revenge. Her fury loveable side character is a hoard of rats. So yeah, has a lot of great horror elements, female rage, and a very surprising cast of found family. Check your twists trigger warnings for sure because this one checks a lot of boxes. I don't have those but one part that disturbed me was the hurting of an innocent person. That felt unnecessary and unwarranted as far as the plot went. Hurt all the bad guys... but not the good guys! I also had two assumptions for how the story would go, and it did not! I'm still processing my feelings on it... because it is a HEA in its own right... and I do love to see the FMC grow strong and take down those that hurt her... but I'm also a toxically positive person that wants karma to handle everything and not get my girls hands dirty. I don't want the world to change her... I want her to change the world. But hey... it made me think and process much harder than I usually do for a book this size and of this nature. I love a book that can challenge me to change my mind.
“I suggest you all run, for if I catch you, I will eat you.”
THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING I WANTED & MORE (clown lover + erotic horror = happy girl 😂) - I absolutely devoured this book. Given that this is an erotic horror I didn’t expect to feel EVERY emotion in such depth. From dropping a few tears, to rage, skepticism, loneliness, disgust, unease, excitement. — You literally feel the depravity seeping off of the page — I didn’t want it to end 😮💨
This read made me really feel for the FMC. As a girls girl, it absolutely killed me to see her be treated so poorly but that made it so much easier to support the FMC in her decisions throughout the book and to really feel connected to her emotionally.
I’ve read several of Ab. Cynthe’s books before and loved them but this one absolutely stepped up the gore and the horror aspect. At one point I was eating while reading and I had to put down the book because my stomach had been turned in the best way. As I progress through her works I’m riveted by the story telling, the utter creativity, and her growth. She’s easily become a go to author for me!
Ab. Cynthe & Aimee Jo Hunter, I’d like to go ahead and inject this book in my veins. Idk what you did to it but I’M IN LOVE.
This has easily become a new fav of mine 🤡

“There is no god here, human. And your pathetic pleas mean nothing to a demon.”
You guyssss. I was one bad decision away from starting a riot for Carissa. Like grab-a-chair, WWE style, full send on this group of absolute clowns. Carissa might be the one in makeup but this group are the ones acting like fools.
And Zeth?? Daddy demon!! Ready to go to town on some revenge. They had me sitting there like: can you smell what Carissa and Zeth are cooking? Because something GOOD was simmering and I was fully invested.
AB. Cynthe and Aimee‑Jo Hunter absolutely ate with this book. I was only 18% in when it hit me like a drug straight to the veins. Suddenly I’m pacing around my house, emotionally unwell, and actively volunteering to smack Sybil with a folding chair.
The emotional rollercoaster in this one?? I cannot even properly explain it. I was stressed, invested, yelling internally, and living for every second of the chaos.
It releases March 10th and if this is not what you’re reading that day… I truly don’t know what’s wrong with you (Respectfully)

HUGE thank you to the AB CYNTHE & AIMEE-JO HUNTER for allowing me to get an ARC on this badass book.
Reading The Nightshift by A.N. Cynethe & Aimee-Jo Hunter was an emotional ride from beginning to end. One of the things that stood out the most to me was how much Crissa endured throughout the story. She went through so much pain and betrayal, yet she continued to push forward. Watching the shift in dynamics between her and the people who were once her best friends was heartbreaking. Their treatment of her was frustrating, and there were moments where I honestly wished I could jump into the pages and confront them myself. Monty’s betrayal was one of the most upsetting parts of the book for me. His actions felt like a deep stab in the back, especially considering the history and trust that had been built. Lavender’s behavior was just as disappointing. Seeing people who were supposed to be close to Crissa turn against her made the emotional weight of the story even heavier. Despite all of that, one of the highlights of the novel was Zeth. I fell in love with his character almost instantly. He brought a sense of balance and hope to the story, especially when Crissa needed someone in her corner the most. The way his character developed—and what he ultimately did at the end—was incredibly satisfying and honestly made my heart feel whole. It was the kind of moment that reminds you why you kept reading through all the tension and heartbreak.
If you’re thinking about picking up The Nightshift, do yourself a favour and read the trigger warnings first, because this one goes dark.
I have to say though, I appreciated that multiple times throughout the story the author (and even our demon) practically pauses to give the reader a moment to back out. Like… last chance to leave before things get wild.
I genuinely felt for our FMC, Crissa. She’s been through some serious shit, and while her coping mechanisms are… let’s say questionable, it was easy to understand the pain driving her.
What really pulled me in was the 80s nostalgia. The whole setting had that gritty, retro horror vibe that felt like something straight out of an old slasher film. Think mall horror, creepy clowns, and buckets of gore with a paranormal twist.
The book is also short, which honestly worked perfectly given how intense and chaotic the story gets. It doesn’t drag things out and instead delivers a quick, bloody ride.
Overall, this felt like slasher horror meets paranormal romance, and it definitely pushed past the boundaries of what I normally read. It’s dark, messy, and absolutely not for everyone—but if you like your horror a little wild and a lot unhinged, this might be one to check out.
Thank you to the author for an early copy. All opinions are my own.
The Nightshift was amazing. Everything I could’ve expected and more. The entire premise, aesthetic , tropes, everything is so up my alley and I was so damn excited I was able to receive this arc! 💚
I did NOT expect to feel allll the emotions I felt while reading this erotic horror. Crissa, our FMC who deserved all the “good for her” moments. Bloody disgusting and all.
The Nightshift gave the best fucking vibes and I felt like I was living in an 80s fever dream. I never wanted to come out of it. I LOVED this. So damn much. And I eat up a revenge story every time and this one was perfection. In every way. The plot and dynamic between our demon friend and crissa was entertaining and depraved as hell. I enjoyed every second of it and would love to see this duo again 😈 “𝖄𝖔𝖚 𝕮𝖗𝖎𝖘𝖘𝖆, 𝖞𝖔𝖚 𝖆𝖗𝖊 𝖒𝖞 𝖍𝖚𝖒𝖆𝖓, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕴 𝖆𝖒 𝖞𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖋𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖓𝖉. 𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗."
This was not what I expected… and I mean that in the best way.
On the surface, you’ve got clowns, pizza, and revenge—like full-on unhinged, slightly feral energy set inside a creepy mall pizzeria. But underneath all of that?? There’s something way deeper going on.
This story really touches on mental health and that very real, very heavy need for someone—anyone—to talk to. To feel seen. To not feel so alone in your own head.
And that contrast?? Between the chaos and the vulnerability?? It works so well.
Crissa is… a lot. In a good way. She’s unsettling, raw, and honestly kind of heartbreaking when you really look at her. You can feel the isolation, the abandonment, and how badly she just wants connection—even if it comes out in the most twisted ways.
And Zeth?? Perfect balance to her.
Their dynamic feels strange, intense, and weirdly grounding all at once. It shouldn’t work—but it does. And I loved them for it.
What I appreciated most is how different this story is. It doesn’t follow the usual rules. It leans into the weird. The dark. The uncomfortable.
But it still manages to say something real.
Clowns. Pizza. Revenge. … and somehow also loneliness, connection, and what happens when people are pushed too far.
Yeah. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while.
This was such a wild ride. Perfect setting was reading this in my throw back to time basement with disco balls and neons everywhere. This felt like I was in the mall setting from Fear Street on Netflix. It gave me those exact vibes. The FMC was legit just trying to navigate life and continued to get screwed over and over again. Until finally…she’s able to conjure up some courage and of course a little demon help. Because let’s be honest revenge is always better with a demon right?
This book gave me every 80s trope I could want. Cursed object. Mall aesthetic. 80s characters with 80s attitudes. It even gave me the exact vibe of most 80s movies where the plot is a little loose but in that typical 80s horror way. Where it was more about the atmosphere and the revenge. It wasn’t a psychological horror like modern day. No it’s 80s horror in the most delicious way.
Also why is it always a red head? 😅Either way hated her!
The body horror was top notch and in such a subtle way. It wasn’t over the top going you 10 page details. It was subtlety thrown in that you might miss it. That was magical because it made it feel as though with Zeth (not Seth) in control this was an average Tuesday.
The Nightshift by Ab. Cynthe and Aimee-Jo Hunter was intense. But I do 100% got to admit, my brain fried when I saw there was a whole page dedicated to 'She got what she deserved'. Aside from that, this was a fantastic read, and honestly, I whole-heartedly dove signed up for this book thinking it was a zombie book, and it was not. Nope. Which, ngl, I'm glad it wasn't, because some of the triggers had be concerned on what I was getting myself into, until I realized what it was. Lol. Demonic Possession. However, with the way things turned out, it could have been a zombie book too and I'd have been fine.
Either way, there was a crazy amount of intensity to this book. Triggers should not be taken lightly, by no means. It was like if Carrie had friends, you took them all away, intensified her bullying to pitch black pranks, and then dressed her up as a clown as her inner demon got it's revenge, and threw in some rats. That is.. the best way to describe this book.
I loved it, however, thank you Ab. Cynthe and Aimee-Jo and their PR team for letting me read this book. I'd love to see a comeback for Lavender or shoot, see what happens and becomes of Crissa and Zeth after this. Lol.
Wow... Well, The Nightshift certainly is an unexpected gem of a read. If you like splatter, gore, 80's horror with a sprinkle of demon possession. You will most certainly love this. It’s a fast faced read, action and gore packed that will have you checking why and how you found yourself here. In a good way. Honestly. 🤣
I mean what’s better than a demon hosting a revenge tour for you? Zeth, the demon, made me giggle numerous times. Sure, he loves a bit of human flesh, but still... He’s the life of this party. He can also be pretty creative in his ways of taking Crissa’s revenge. Crissa, sweet Crissa... before she summons Zeth, all of her friend group had completely turned their backs on her. She was left the outcast, working hard to make her way through life at Big Top Pizza, while they continuously bullied and lied to her. Often moving past the point of childhood bullying and into physically hurting territory. I felt for her, but when she finds Zeth, she is given something more than just her revenge.
A big thank you to Ab Cynthe & Amiee -Jo Hunter for this ARC, as always I appreciate you both.
