Rate this book
After witnessing a brutal crime, Jared Paluwiki finds himself tucked away in the quiet town of Avonbury, Massachusetts, under the watchful eye of the U.S. Marshals. His temporary home? The legendary Storyteller’s Cottage, famous for sparking love in all who stay there.

But Jared isn’t here for romance. He’s here because he has no choice. The question is… does the cottage care?

Makayla Quinn has built her life around the Marshal’s badge, dedicating every ounce of herself to the job. But after a tragic accident shakes her confidence, she’s no longer sure where she belongs. Now, her latest assignment has her guarding Jared in the very cottage she knows has a mischievous reputation for matters of the heart. And she’s not in the mood for love. At least, that’s what she tells herself.

Yet as the days pass, their banter and Jared’s easy going charm stirs something in Makayla. Sparks of attraction grow hotter, until resisting becomes impossible and the pull between them, undeniable.

Perhaps the cottage knows exactly what it’s doing.Because sometimes love doesn’t wait for the perfect moment, it creates one.

This was much more theatric and mysterious than others of this series, so it felt fresh to be at the Storyteller's Cottage again. I did not enjoy this one as much plot wise because it was a bit triggering for me in spots, but the characters are great and the healing that takes place is as always wonderfully written. 😊 ❤️
