I picked this up hoping for something practical about working with large language models, and it ended up being way more useful than I expected. A lot of AI books either stay super high level or go so deep into theory that you can’t actually build anything. This one hits a really nice middle ground.
What I liked most is how clearly things are explained. Concepts like prompt design, model behavior, and building real applications with LLMs are broken down in a way that makes sense, even if you’re not coming from a hardcore research background. At the same time, it doesn’t feel watered down there’s enough depth to actually understand what you’re doing and why.
The practical examples are a big plus. Instead of just talking about what’s possible, the book walks through how to create things like AI assistants and text-based tools step by step. It helped me connect the dots between “cool AI idea” and “this is how you’d actually build and deploy it.
I also appreciated that it touches on limitations and responsible use, not just the exciting parts. That made it feel more realistic and grounded in how AI is used in the real world.
