Technical Advances: An Age-Gap Gay Romance

Rate this book
Benji
The Anson Day stands before me. The founder of a billion dollar tech company, the man I've idolized since I was a kid. The man whose picture may have helped clued me in to my sexuality. The Anson Day is interviewing me, about-to-be Doctor Benjamin Warren for a job at New Day Technologies. If I wasn't so jazzed, and confused, and ... attracted, I may have wondered why the head of a famous international company was interviewing an entry level employee.

Anson
It's the smartest work to cross my desk, well, possibly ever. A project so close to my own that my business team was worried about espionage. But, no, I can tell this work is unique and I can tell that the author and I are are barreling toward the same conclusions. Bu when Benji looks me directly in the eye, not with hero-worship, or scientific interest, but with something deeper, more intense, more real, are those conclusions work related, or something more?

Technical Advances is an age-gap, workplace, forbidden romance, with a hint of dad's old friend thrown in. Join Anson and Benji in the private lab where they are supposed to be working on a technical advancement that will rock the medical world, if they can stop staring into each other's eyes long enough to finish the project.

Benji has been following the career of Anson Day since the passing of his mother, finding commodity in a man hes never met. When Anson sees the application for Benjamin he cannot help but be intrigued by the young man and how similarly his mind works to his own. Upon their first meeting you feel the connection you understand they are two halves of one being. It was fun to see their connection go throughout the story and appreciated they found a way to make their relationship work before things became to physical. Appreciated the authors neurospicy representation on how this brilliant man needs help in his day to day until he finds someone who truly gets and is able to help both thrive. Overall an enjoyable read with a promise for more fun reads in the future.

This is a short, easy read. I enjoyed the development of Benji and Anson's relationship, but it happened so fast! I didn't like that Benji called Anson 'baby' almost from the beginning, which was completely inappropriate since he is his employee (directly reporting to him, even!). The author did a good job of making it seem like the characters really clicked while they were working.

This is a pretty short book and not much really happened. Most of what did happen was endless arguments over Benji joining the company. There was so much back-and-forth between Beck and Anson, Ben and Benji, and then everyone arguing together about the problems they thought could arise by bringing Benji into the company. Those parts made it repetitive and it was all just too much.

Technical Advances is the first book in the new New Day Sparks series by Madalyn George. This is a forbidden, age gap, boss/employee read about Benji and Anson. I enjoyed this storyline and the characters, looking forward to seeing what comes in the series.
