About the author

The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1884 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. It is used by Jehovah’s Witnesses to support their worldwide work, which includes publishing Bibles and Bible-based literature.

According to its charter, the corporation’s purposes are “religious, educational, and charitable,” in particular, to “preach and teach the gospel of God’s Kingdom under Christ Jesus.” Membership in the corporation is by invitation only and is not based on how much a person has donated. The corporation members and directors assist the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

I just read highlights from the country of Dominican Republic and enjoyed the encouraging experiences from around the world.

I always get excited at the end of each year waiting for the new yearbook. It arrived on jw.org website this past week, and what a thrill reading it and all the encouraging experiences of our spiritual Brothers and Sisters throughout the world. Again I was not disappointed. Although sometimes it brought tears to my eyes reading about our friends in this country where the work of Jehovah's Witnesses was under ban and all they suffered because of it. How brave they were risking their lives each day, as they went out to preach the Good News of God's Kingdom.

It really makes me set back and think about how easy we have it here in the U.S. The bros and sisters in those countries under ban had to be so careful while out talking to people about all the wonderful things God's Kingdom will do for mankind in the future. Which I am sure was not an easy thing to do. Just put yourself in their place, to be thrown into prison, just because you are a Jehovah's Witness. Sometimes it is just heartbreaking. But in the end they rely on Jehovah and come out of the situations happy and alive.

There are also many wonderful experiences of ones who found the truth and how it changed their lives how happy they were. So hang in there and read it to the end.

Yes I agree that some of the statistics, esp. the facts and figures and numerical data can become slow with action, but in the end we come to appreciate how the organization has grown over the last 100 years

If you haven't read it yet I encourage you to read it as soon as possible.

Loved his so much. The Dominican Republic is a place we've visited and this made our experiences live so much more. The interviews of people are so encouraging. The pictures and graphs give you a real sense of the climate, scenery, and language groups.

I love all of our yearbooks but this one was just wonderful. I loved seeing the pictures of Warwick and I can't wait to visit it when it's finished. Also learning about how Jehovah's Kingdom message came to the people of Dominican Republic, that was amazing. Their many trials they had to endure only shows they had Jehovah's backing. Just loved this yearbook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely fantastic! I was so gripped the whole time and fascinated and amazed by the power of Jehovah to help our brothers and sisters during the ban. Definitely has a lot to say about our upcoming future and what to expect and ties a lot with this months broadcast. Definitely helps me to keep in mind "to remain 'strong in faith'" Romans 4:29 King James Version (Page 175)

And it keeps getting better and better every year :) I didn't know anything about the brothers and sisters in Dominican Republic and what they been through while Trujillo was in charge. They are really modern examples of faith.

At first I didn't feel confident about going to the DR to serve where the need is greater, but I've just finished reading this yearbook & I'm extremely encouraged to go even for a little while! I really enjoyed reading the news of the continued progress at the new world HQ at Warwick, NY. It was nice to read about the Worldwide Design and Construction Group and to hear some details about the 2013 revised Bible translation.
