Reviving Bloom
Bloom was abandoned by her mother at birth, but thanks to her dad she never once felt unloved. When he is killed in a car wreck, leaving her without any close family, she spends a year mourning him. She feels as if her heart has been cut out of her chest and nothing is left but an empty hole that she doesn’t think will ever heal. Then one night after work she finds a wounded dog in the woods behind her house and takes him in, not realizing he’s more than just some stray dog but a wolf shifter, who happens to be her mate. Pike is getting over the loss of his father by running full force away from his responsibilities. He’s getting ready to go back to face his new position as the Alpha of his pack when he catches the scent that can only belong to his mate. No, no, no.
What did I just read? The book was plagued with typos, incorrect grammar usage, and phrases like, "Darlin" – OMG. Help. I'm surprised I actually finished the whole book...I usually enjoy shifter/mating stories, but this one was just horrible. No story whatsoever. If there was, what the hell was it? Can someone fill me in, because I was just waiting for something remotely interesting to happen? Something unique, original, inventive?
The narrative was straight-up confusing, and I was extremely annoyed at how the author kept summarizing everything. I was constantly being told, not shown. I was painfully aware that I was reading. And again, I was BORED. There were chunks of paragraphs of useless info/descriptions, and the dialogue...Oh god. Let's not even go there. The writing style was blasé, uninspired, and amateurish.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH yay! I started this at 11 pm and now just finished at 3:30 am. Good Gracious i am glad i don't need to wake up early tomorrow! Let me start off by saying again, YAY! I absolutely loved this. I have been looking for a really good Werewolf book that wasn't all sex! So YAY again! So now as i have officially had my little freak out on HOW GOOD THIS BOOK IS! i will do my review. oh before i do that though, if you are Prince of Wolves lover or if you haven't read them but read this you will love this series...going for both directions. i think that they are a good match together, and i think that people who read Prince of Wolves would really appreciate this series as well!
Bloom Michael something, her full name is in there a lot but give me some credit it's very late and i just read this within a few hours! Anywhos, Bloom is in a bad place, hell i don't blame her one bit, the only real, blood, family she had left that she knew loved her died a year ago. I can't pretend i know what it feels like to lose a parent from either abandonment which has to be the worst, or death, which Bloom had the pleasure of both! I don't hate her for being sad, i don't, but i do hate her just a tiny, itty, bit for pushing away her other family, her adoptive Uncle Billy, and her best friend - who i love and hope to see more of in the next one - Bonnie (Bon). So back to Bloom, when we are introduced to her she is very lonely, and again like i said before i don't blame her, not really, and when she meets Pike, the unnaturally large dog that is more like a miniature horse, and has absolutely no fear but instead love for it is when we start to get a change in our main character. I am glad that she grows out of this funk and we start to see who she really is and i would hope who she is growing into. But there is something that bothered me, and still is bothering me at the moment, and this is sort of a tiny little bit of a spoiler but not really either, so skip this part if you don't want to know it......did you skip or are you still debating if not here we go! ..... So she has feelings, like gut feelings about people but they don't develop til more than half way through the book.....? okay so now that is settled moving on
Pike...we are introduced to him in his wolf form, and i mean who doesn't love a huge ass black wolf of 25? Cause i know this girl does... oh and that Southern twang? YES PLEASE!!! Only i enjoy it when the twang is also influenced when the chapter is in his point of view, and in all of his thoughts, not just in his speech...if that makes sense...its a small thing really but i wanted it there...anywhos. Pike is the new Alpha of a werewolf pack because a wolf cannot live a healthy sane life without his mate...so Pike had to kill his father...don't worry its not really a spoiler he tells us about it in like his first pov chapter.... so anyways... there is that. He is fiercely protective of Bloom when he first meets her, and call me swoony but i love a werewolf who is! But more than that do i love in a man is his easy charming self which Pike had sometimes, he was very kind of airy and easy about this commands and not being all demand-y but being demanding which i loved. i think it was my favorite thing about him, but when he needed to get down to business he could...though we got very little of that. So Pike...tall, handsome, black-haired beauty (did we ever get his eye color? i don't remember....) anyways and werewolf who could want anymore?
So the smaller side characters! Bonnie: the best friend... i am assuming smaller than Bloom (Blu), but she don't get a description of what she looks like i don't think... anyways she seems very sassy which apparently is opposite of how she normally is but we never see the "normal" her according to Blu and i was waiting for the "real" Bon but i liked the sassy Bon too. She seems very against commitment which seems strange to me because she is beyond loyal to Blu...but hey she is an interesting read, and as i said before i hope there is more of her in the next book..if there is a next book... but i kinda secretly hope that Bon will get POV chapters in the next book.
Tucker: The Beta, and who doesn't love the 7 foot, brown hair, brown eyed beauties? i know i do! from what we get from him - which isn't a whole lot because he is mostly in it at the end but he is easy going, almost laid back but seems a lot older than the age of 20, and i like that about him but his age keeps putting me off but whatever, age is a number. But i can tell he is possessive and God that is sexy....
Emily: um she is in the middle of the book, sister to Pike and seems like she is going to be Blu's new Werewolf BFF but then disappears for the last half of the book... so sad. But she is the advice giver to Pike even though she is four years younger, but us younger children are always the smartest as i like to think ;) but not the point there isn't much to say about her.
This really is the story of Blu and Pike (once mentioned as Ike). I didn't mind being introduced to these characters that is for sure, but i do hope in the next one we get more about the other smaller characters, they have a lot of potential and i think could offer a lot more to the story then the little pieces they offer now. Anyways moving onto the plot
PLOT: So obviously it was a pretty well paced book otherwise i wouldn't be saying up until 4 o clock in the morning to be writing this review that probably next to no one will read. We learn a lot about the past of Blu's parents and their um...separation. There isn't really a good way to put this without giving stuff away but i will say this. The pacing is well done, when you think you might be getting bored, nah Michelle Turner won't disappoint something exciting is around the bend.
Now for the pest-y ending... its a bit of a cliff-hanger... not well i don't want to say not so horrible you will be totally and utterly pissed off but i cannot confirm that for you. i am satisfied enough at the moment but there are lose ends, and i am excitedly waiting for the next one that i will say honestly.

I stumbled across Reviving Bloom and after reading the description, I was ecstatic. It's been so long since I have read a good werewolf/shifter book and this looked like the perfect book for me to read. Even better, it was reasonably priced! a mere $0.99! It didn't take long after starting it to understand why it was priced so low. Reviving Bloom was probably one of the most painful books I have ever read through. I couldn't even finish it, it was that bad. I made it just past three quarters of the way down and I physically couldn't handle it any more.
I wrote a review on a book called Morrigan by Lauren Deluca in the past. In said review I mentioned how she had such great potential with her plot, but it was destroyed by its writing. This was another case of this. Michelle Turner had everything she needed to make this a great book. The characters were amazing, the plot line was sound, conflict was a bit lacking, but there, and she just threw it all away the second her fingers touched that keyboard.
In the novel, Turner assumes her audience is stupid, going into complete detail and history about trivial things that could have been left implied. She would use PAGES to describe what mating was, or how depressed the main character is after her fathers death. In addition, she writes her characters as if they were some what omniscient. The characters seemed to just throw in information when it was needed to further the plot line without any motivation, knowledge, or build up. I was so confused.
The last thing I wanted to address is more directed at the actual writing in a format matter. Almost the entire novel was dialogue. Whether the main characters were mentally speaking through their mate bond or talking out loud, the book was 90% conversational. There were almost no descriptive paragraphs, and a lot of the dialogue used could have been summarized in a few paragraphs instead. The worst part for me? My BIGGEST pet peeve ever... NO INDENTATION! there was no indentation at the beginning of a paragraph so I had to just guess when a new paragraph started. I commend my patience in getting as far as I did.
This book gets a 1/10 and that is being GENEROUS. There was almost nothing going for this book. Hardly any conflict, and the conflict that did arise was sudden and had no build up what so ever. There was almost no tension between characters and I just found the whole novel completely unrealistic. Thats saying something because, after all, it is a book about werewolves... I do NOT suggest you read this book. It is a waste of time and money. I returned this book, wasn't worth the space in my library.

The book's beginning was sad but intriguing; a year after her dad’s death, Bloom is still grieving. That is until Pike arrives, smelling Bloom’s strawberry and cedar scent and thereby changing Bloom's entire life. It was very entertaining to find Bloom happy with this dog/wolf, when in fact the animal was a shifter, who also happened to be Bloom’s mate.
Chapter’s alternated between Bloom and Pikes’ thoughts and perspectives, which I found useful because it allowed us to hear not just Bloom’s thoughts, but also the wolf’s too. This was most helpful when Pike was in his wolf form and had not yet shifted so was acting as Bloom's 'pet'.
Once Pike shifts into his human form they are both already in love. I found their constant ‘darlings’ a bit too mushy, but I know that’s just me, anyone else would find it sweet!
The story has quite a few interesting surprises, particularly when we realise that Bloom has the shifter gene but for an unknown reason Bloom has not yet shifted. In addition, Bloom has another gift of 'gut instincts' and knowing things intuitively, without a logical explanation. Since this is a series, I believe we will find out more about Bloom’s gifts when she meets her great-aunt in the next book.
My favourite character had to be Bloom’s best friend; Bonnie. Fiercely loyal, and incredibly sweet, she made me laugh at the way she mocked Pike and his shifters by calling them dogs, rather than shifters. AT the end of the book it appears that the pack’s Beta has mated with Bonnie, but the feelings are one-sided since Bonnie is appalled by the news. I look forward to seeing how long before she gives in to the mating bond!
Overall, a fun read, which gave me much more insight to shifters than I had before. The addition of a psycho stalker, evil brother and unknown gifts, makes this book a recommended read.

It had a promising start but it stayed there. I have started to believe that I probably have an issue with mating and this book was the joy of mating. People were finding their mates at first sight. It was ridiculous at least. All this melting cheese (mate in danger, keep mate in safety and mate odors) is overrated. I'll admit I enyoyed the script until Pike shifted to his human form. He'd better stay as wolf dog all through the story.

Despite the bad reviews I came across, I decided to pick up this book anyway. Right off the bat, I have to say the spelling and grammar were absolutely atrocious, which is why I rated it three stars. That being said, I finished it almost in one sitting—it had me hooked from the start.
I found a lot of the dialogue cringey, and I could not stand how many times Pike said “darlin’.” The story gave me major fanfiction vibes, where you just have to overlook the flaws and mentally correct them as you go. Despite its issues, I didn’t hate it, and I’ll probably read the second book, hoping the grammar and spelling have improved.
As for the story itself, the pacing felt way too rushed—Bloom moving to Tennessee happened way too fast! Plus, there was almost no backstory on Trace or Kyran. Why does Kyran outright hate Bloom? And Tucker constantly calling her “sis” when they just met felt forced.
Did I devour this book anyway? Yes. Do I know why? Not really, lol. 😂

After her father’s death, Bloom has no reason to feel alive again. Even if she still has some friends near her, the black hole in her heart is too deep. Not mentioning the fact that she hates her mother who abandoned her at birth. But then, something changed in her life.
When she finds a a wounded dog in the woods she has no idea who he is. Pike isn’t a dog, he is a wolf shifter and he also is Bloom’s mate. I can add the fact that Pike is a black wolf with blue eyes and a strong personality. No doubt that Bloom likes him.
The connection between them was undeniable S-W-E-E-T and I totally loved it. No fights, just funny and romantic moments which made me giggle so many times. They even had nicknames: Pike’s was Tennessee and Bloom’s was Darlin’ . Cute, isn’t it?
Alright, now Bloom has to join her mate and go to Tennessee. But they can’t go without Bonnie. Bonnie is Bloom’s friend and she is like the funniest character in the book. I really want to know more about her in the second book.
Here, in Tennessee, things aren’t so easy as it seems. Bloom doesn’t know that Rose, her mother, makes part from her mate’s pack. Yep, that’s right fellas, Rose is a shifter which means that Bloom has to be a shifer as well. But she never changed her shape and she must find why. So many questions, so little time to find the answers.
The characters were amazing and the plot was very interesting. Michelle Turner really knows how to please her readers.
Overall, ‘’Reviving Bloom’’ is a great book and you can’t get bored when you read it. Michelle’s first YA book completely entertained me and I’m dying to read the sequel. Also, if you like books with shifters (let’s not say werewolves) you really have to read it.

Reviving Bloom intrigued me from the blurb. I just had to read it after I read that. So I did. And wow, it was awesome.
It's about Bloom a young woman who doesn't have a mother because she left her right after she was born, and now she doesn't have a father because he died a year ago. The only people she has left now are a few friends she's always considered family. Since her father died Bloom has been very depressed. She feels like there is a huge dark cloud hanging over her. But then one day she stumbles upon a hurt "dog" outside of her house. She takes this "dog" into her home, and takes care of him. As the days continue Bloom feels a change come over her, she's feeling happy again, and she's even smiled now.
Pike, is a alpha werewolf who just had to kill his father for basically going crazy without his mate. Now Pike is just wondering around trying to figure out who to do. Something has led him to this strange town in Ohio. And as soon has he gets the scent of "strawberries, and ceder" he knows he has found his mate. And once he finally got the scent of her he literally ran to her, but while running he fell into a trap just outside of her house. Little did he know fate would help lead his mate to him just because of that trap.
Now all of that right there is very unique to this book. I've never read a shifter/werewolf book where anything like that has happened before. And let me tell you, it was freaking hilarious! I laughed a lot during this book. Both of these two people have faced lots of heartache, and now they have each other to help them through that, and through there continued troubles.
Overall this book was very good. I love how unique it is. It has an alpha male, brave female, sarcastic, and funny friends, drama, romance, and lots of laughs. I couldn't ask for more in this book, because it was perfect just he way it was. Kudos to the author. I know I can't wait to read the next book!

The only people she has left now are a few friends she's always considered family. Since her father died Bloom has been very depressed. She feels like there is a huge dark cloud hanging over her. But then one day she stumbles upon a hurt "dog" outside of her house. She takes this "dog" into her home, and takes care of him. As the days continue Bloom feels a change come over her, she's feeling happy again, and she's even smiled now.
Pike, is a alpha werewolf who just had to kill his father for basically going crazy without his mate. Now Pike is just wondering around trying to figure out who to do. Something has led him to this strange town in Ohio. And as soon has he gets the scent of "strawberries, and ceder" he knows he has found his mate. And once he finally got the scent of her he literally ran to her, but while running he fell into a trap just outside of her house. Little did he know fate would help lead his mate to him just because of that trap.
Now all of that right there is very unique to this book. I've never read a shifter/werewolf book where anything like that has happened before. And let me tell you, it was freaking hilarious! I laughed a lot during this book. Both of these two people have faced lots of heartache, and now they have each other to help them through that, and through there continued troubles.
Overall this book was very good. I love how unique it is. It has an alpha male, brave female, sarcastic, and funny friends, drama, romance, and lots of laughs. I couldn't ask for more in this book, because it was perfect just he way it was. Kudos to the author. I know I can't wait to read the next book!

I have mixed emotions about this book. On one hand, I feel like it got me out of the reading slump I've been in for the past couple days where I've been starting books and then abandoning them four chapters in. On the other hand, there was so much in this book that I felt was a little... unbelievable. It was a good book, definitely a quick read, but you really had to stretch your reality beliefs for this one.

Here are some of the things I thought were pretty unbelievable:
1- When Bonnie's dad starts talking to Pike, I was thoroughly surprised. He knew a lot about them. Why would a "shifter" tell him a lot about their people? We do later learn that it was Bloom's mother that revealed this, but when we meet her, I wouldn't peg her as someone who would tell so much about her people. And how did she get into multiple situations where she showed people who she is. There are no specifics on what happened with Bonnie's dad, but with Billy, she could've just ran away! He had a gun, yes, but obviously it wouldn't do much to her, thanks to Pike's demonstration. So why would she shift, and not even tell her husband, who she loved until she found her mate?
2- Why does Bloom's wolf just show up. She says she thinks it's because of Pike, and the Elders seem to agree, but that just seems a little too convenient for my taste. She's never gotten sick in her life, and her dad didn't bother to look into it, and her wolf had to have been the one who was healing her, so how did she not sense anything at all before?
3- Where's Pike's heartbreak over his father? I know, I know, the whole reason he ran away was because of killing his father, but it wasn't the grief, it was the responsibility he was running from. He cried about his father maybe once out of about five or six of the crying sessions they had. I did like how genuine Bloom's grief was portrayed to be, though. In the beginning.
4- Bloom just snapped out of everything that was wrong with her, and took on everything about being shifter! No questions asked, really! Except how the mating process worked. She didn't argue over him moving her multiple states away, she hardly argued with him at all! It was like she was happy to just bend over backwards to suit Pike, and she had no strong will. Very disappointing, too.
5- Are there other supernatural beings in this world that Ms. Turner has created? Rose talks of there being something about Bloom's grandmother having a gut feeling like Bloom, but nobody says anything about other things being real, nor hinting at it- unless you count Pike describing someone as looking as though they'd be called a vampire instead of a shifter- or anything! I guess that's part of the premise for the second book, though.
Now that I've whined about a few things in the book, here are a few things that were pretty cool:
1- They got to shift. How freaking cool is that? What person reading this book wouldn't think that's cool? Because if did read this book for pleasure and you don't think it's even marginally cool, why did you read this book? Anyway, they got to shift into giant wolves!!!
2- Mates! I love when books have, essentially, soul mates. The one person you're supposed to be with for your entire life and nobody can get between that bond, blah, blah, blah. You know what I'm talking about. I think it's awesome.
3- Bonnie was an awesome best friend. She cares for Bloom passionately, and her sense of humor is wonderful. (Although part of her stuff was kinda unbelievable, but that's not the point).
4- The romance. It wasn't overly graphic, but was definitely enjoyable.
5- Emily. She was awesome, so bubbly without being too bubbly, and she got a mate, and she was wonderful. Love her, almost as much as Bonnie
All in all, this was a good book, but not something I'd obsess over

Wooooow This book rocked. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because the feminist in me wanted to burn this book down every other chapter... The insta love (which I normally hate and find kinda boring) was totally perfect for advancing the plot and considering the whole werewolf-mate situation, it was understandable.
I felt like the ending was a bit ‘in the middle of a chapter’ as one would say, but it made me buy the second book so good marketing, I guess?
The changing POV was really fitting for this book, it let’s us readers see how both Pike and Bloom develop and come to terms with the situation.
Now, I’m only rating the STORY 4 stars and not the book as a whole, bc boy oh boy did the editors suck.
Misspelling, missing punctuation and sentences that made absolutely no sense littered the pages.
I certainly hope that the second book has some improvements regarding the editing.

It was...okay! I mean...it was the typical...'I know what's coming next' kind of book... Though there were parts that were good. All in all, I have read it once and that should be enough... I mean... seriously... I know the true mates and shifter business is expected but still...it could have been more gripping... I felt that this one missed out on the essential part because the transition from 'I have a true mate' to oh! I can read her mind was like...instant... That was weird to say the least...

Pleasantly Suprising
This book is a great read! Read it all in one sitting. The characters are very distinctive and the development so far isn't bad at all. Left plenty of room for growth with excellent pacing so nothing seems oddly placed. Absolutely love the romance and quick wit with a female lead who can hold her own. Excited to see what's next!!!

Loved it! If you like this particular trope then you would love this book. The story was really well done, if a tad bit cliche, and the writing was phenominal.

I received this book from the author to give an honest review.
I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters. There was one character in the book that reminded me of my best friend not only by them both having the same name but the way they acted. My best friend's name is Bonnie and the way the character Bonnie (in the book) was written out, it sounded just like my best friend. The sweetness, and attitude sounds just like my best friend, I would think the author knew my best friend if I didn't know better lol.
There were many parts in the book that had me laughing and one part that had me cringe.
The giggly parts are as followed:
1.When bloom is in the bathroom having a conversation with herself about laying in the same bed as Pike, she realises that maybe he is listening. To find out why he would be listening you have to start reading.
2. Another giggly moment was on page 138, and the conversation is between Bloom and Bonnie.
"And Bloom if you even get a tingle in your gut about me, being mated to anyone, take some pepto and get rid of that tingle fast."
"I can't take pepto to get rid of a gut feeling Bon."
"Have you ever tried?" She asks with her hand on her hip as she watches me seriously.
Well no, I admit.
"Then you can't say it won't work. Pepto helps with a lot of stomach issues, gut instincts might be another to add to the list."
3. At the end with the two characters Bonnie and Tucker and the start of their story. I can definitely see a lot of them in book 2!
I loved how Bloom and Pike had nicknames for each other. Pike's being Tennessee and Bloom's being Darlin' it is just sooooooo cute!
Now I was a little skeptical on Bloom's full reaction to the news Pike told her. She seemed to take it all in stride, and I didn't expect that, nor did I expect her to freak out like in other books, so that was a plus. I guess I expected her to be more surprised and ask a lot more questions. That was the only thing out of the whole book that kind of bothered me.
I love reading about shifters, and Reviving Bloom was a wonderful read. Great story, great and lovable characters, humor, romance, action and of course hot shifters. All put together made an amazing story. I can not wait for book 2. Where this book left off has me really wondering what is going to happen next. I know it will be just as amazing as this one.

To say I was disappointment is an understatement which is a darn shame, because I was quite looking forward to seeing what this delicious looking cover book promised to show.
Front Cover: Love the front cover, a mysterious looking wolf in the background behind a beautiful looking woman with strange eyes promises secrets, protectiveness, action and love!
Storyline: This is where things went completely ass over tits here. The plotline for this story has so much room for potential which unfortunately wasn't shown.
There were quite a few typos which didn't help for a start. Surely these should have been picked up if the story is to be published?? Clearly this didn't happen! The story was pretty told, not shown nor explained through the detail it should have been. It was like this happened and then this happened next?!
I didn't appreciate the fact that the whole fact that this was supposed to be a grieveing young woman who all of a sudden found her 'mate' Pike (weird name, why Pike?!)and all of a sudden its like 'oh don't worry, everything fine now I've found a boy and I'm all his and I bow to his every wish'. Grow a backbone for goodness sake! The fact that she accepted everything that happened to her all of a sudden without truly questioning herself and what she really wanted out of her life made it for me seem unrealistic. Heck if what happened to her happened to me in real life I can assure you now that it would be completely different to say the least. Who the heck just accepts a random guy and moves away hundreds of miles from everything she's knows to be with a guy she knows absolutely nothing about?! Bloom apparently! Oh and add the fact she is suddenly all accepting and with one with her inner she wolf...well...says it all really. Unrealistic, unbelievable and hard to accept. One minute she's just herself and the next she's saying she's always known something was different and the she wolf being there. EHHH since when!? Because I completely missed that for the best part of the book.
Overall a shoddy attempt to tell a tale of love and wolves. Holds plenty of potential that wasn't accessed. For this I won't be buying the next book in the series.

I would like to thank Michelle Turner and Juniper Grove Book Solutions for allowing me to be apart of this tour! I had the pleasure of reviewing Reviving Bloom and have to say right now I rather enjoyed it!
Bloom is trying to get by, day by day, as the loss of her father still weighs heavy on her heart, but she has her close friend Bonnie, Bonnie’s father and her father’s friend, the closest person she has to family, Billy. One day however, she encounters an injured wolf and for the first time it is like something has changed in Bloom…
More like awaken something within her, something she didn’t know was there….
Pike just wanted to get away for a while, he had defeated his father in a challenge and has now become the Alpha of his pack, it was all too much to take, while running he comes across a scent, a scent that he knows will lead him to his mate, while staying close he gets his paw stuck in a trap and is released by Bloom. He soon realizes that Bloom isn’t just any normal girl, but not wanting to alarm her he treads carefully on how he will go about revealing himself to her.
But danger lurks close by and is after Bloom, HIS Bloom, and Pike is determined to keep her safe.
I rather liked the story, right now we are seeing a lot of vampires and werewolves being written about but thankfully this was something not overdone; that is what made the story enjoyable. Though the plot was intriguing, I found myself wanting a bit more build up in some of the characters, I just felt like there was something missing to give each character that extra “humph” but regardless that didn’t keep me from reading through the book in a matter of hours.
I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book (there is a next book right? question to Michelle Turner) because if there isn’t I think I would be left with too many questions! Especially the ending, which I wont say anything but it is rather amusing how Bloom and Pike both try to get the two together…(oooooo now you are probably wondering “Two? Two who?”) It is all part of my evil plan to lure you to pick a copy up of this book!
I give this book 4/5 crescents!
