Formerly FAT / Toxic Skeptic Now Healthy 9 Years & Counting

February 27, 2013

My Doctor recommended diet failed! Why? It lost patience with it. It cost way too much. It lacked a detox component. (That's the short list.)

Peter Greenlaw invites you to explore WHY diets fail. His decade worth of research combined with clear, simple examples provide insights on why most diets (including mine) - leave much to be desired.

WARNING! Greenlaw's solution - a program known as Isagenix - requires readers to explore (versus judge) a healthy, proven technology as part of a successful health and wellness program. When I first learned of Greenlaw's solution, I balked - big time. Thankfully, I got past my ignorance. Results?

I'm one of Isagenix's original 100 pound club members (2004). I shed 125 pounds. I maintain a healthy weight with ease thanks to this program. I saved well over $3200 in food costs in addition to professional fees (gym trainer, nutritionist, doctors) this year alone.

Skeptics? Do your research before closing your mind. You'll be delighted and surprised with your results!

Good luck on your journey to gain and maintain good health!

I read this book and then lived it's principles for 2+ years. A good message about the importance of taking control of your health, and changing your lifestyle for good, and how to do it.

I picked up this book because a friend was saying that Peter Greenlaw was working on an interesting space, and I should take a look as an obesity researcher. That seemed interesting to me, but this book quickly becomes promotional material for a company that's already been charged with breaching multi-level marketing and Ponzi scheme standards, making it a complete waste of time.

I know that there is a way to reduce the weight gain that is happening all over the world and I'm been doing my own research into what is happening to make it so hard to lose weight without going to the extremes. So when I was contacted to review, "Why Diets Are Failing Us!" by Peter Greenlaw, Dr. Dennis Harper, and Drew Greenlaw, I was hopeful this one might fill in the missing answers for me. At first the book has some great information that really draws the reader in, about the levels of toxins that we are introducing into our bodies through pollution, pesticides and additives in our food. In fact if you consider it, our food has fallen so far from what God originally intended. In fact, I would hardly call what most of us eat anymore as food, and it's no wonder our bodies are constantly craving more unable to satisfy the hunger within us.

Yet I can honestly say despite what this book claims on the back cover, it is not what you will receive once you read this in its entirety. I was hoping for what most would expect upon getting this and reading it, the answers we all seek to what is happening to our bodies, our food and what we can do to counter the effects. Yet in fact, all this book is is an ad for Isagenix products and testimonies from people who have been successful on it's diet and cleansing program. While I do not argue the claims as to whether or not this program works, the fact remains that the book is misleading.

If you're like most of us, you expect to get a book that defines how to sleep better, how to gain more energy, experience less stress and how to safely lose weight fast. I truly believe that we are a generation spiraling out of control with the fact we are doing more than we were 50 years ago, technology is enabling us to be more sedentary in lives and we are too busy to sit down and simply eat right anymore. Not only that, I think Peter has hit on the proverbial nail, that were are simply ingesting too many chemicals, toxins and additives that our bodies simply can't keep up with. Not only that the fast food industry and convenience foods are not helping for families that are looking for a way to save time, yet still eat.

If you are looking for answers like I am, this book does offer some insight I hadn't considered before but the fact remains that this book is strictly a glorified ad for Isagenix products and program. However if you are looking for a program that might work for you to help you might want to check out the companies website first before looking at this book to provide the answers based on what it promises. I received this book compliments of Peter Greenlaw for my honest review and based on the feedback I have provided I would rate this book a 2 out of 5 stars.

HIGHLIGHTS:
1. Excess of sugar in the diet hinders the body’s ability to burn fat.

2. The brain requires four grams of sugar every three hours to function properly.

3. Humans are consuming more calories in order to compensate for nutritionally barren food.

4. The body’s ability to self-cleanse is critical for true health and weight loss.

5. Food can be metabolized more efficiently.

6. The body needs vitamins and minerals, as well as certain amounts of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
- All of these elements are useless unless they can be efficiently absorbed into the body.

7. The total energy expenditure over 5.5 hours was greater after consuming the whey protein meal versus the other proteins.

8. Organic eggs from hens allowed to feed on insects and green plants can contain omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids in the beneficial ratio of approximately one-to-one, but commercial supermarket eggs can contain as much as nineteen times more omega-6 than omega-3! Trans
omega-3 helps to reduce weight by increasing fat burning and decreasing the amount of fat we store.

9. The easiest way to burn fat is to stimulate the body’s metabolism.
- To increase metabolism over time, the body needs highly nutritious sources of calories.

10. It is enzymes that ultimately push the body to function properly and actively cleanse itself.
