FBI Special Agent Olympia Smith was only a child in foster care when the serial killer dubbed "the Dentist" began his reign of terror. Four Honolulu women. All sex workers. All strangled, each mouth robbed of a single tooth. Just when the island was about to panic, he vanished like a bad rumor.
Until now.
When the body of a young Oahu prostitute is found, Olympia is thrust into her second case as an agent—investigating the latest horror in a growing string of sex worker victims, each missing a single tooth.
The Dentist is back. But this time with a macabre twist.
A piece of tooth jewelry adorning each corpse is the killer’s grotesque new calling card...and clue. But why’s the Dentist adding a new signature so many years later? Or has a copycat learned the art of pain?
As Olympia probes beneath paradise’s surface, she uncovers fractures in the original cases, and a shocking connection between the past and present victims. This new spate of murders isn’t random. Someone’s carefully selecting their next victim. And Olympia must root out the killer before another young woman has an appointment with death.

THE COLLECTOR'S GAME is the second installment in Mary Stone's and Matt Giegerich's gripping Olympia Smith FBI Mystery Series. This new series is set in Hawaii and presents us with a whole new setting for this suspenseful thriller.
Olympia and Cody haven't had any time to rest before being thrown into a new murder investigation. Fifteen years ago, The Dentist was killing prostitutes and removing a tooth from them. Now, similar murders are showing up. There is something new, though. The new victims lose a tooth but gain a macabre piece of jewelry.
Is The Dentist back, or is this the work of a copycat? As Olympia and Clay work to stop the killings and arrest killer, we get a chance to learn a little about both of these Agents. We learn more about Olympia's background, her early life, and how she survived and joined the FBI. We even learn more about Clay and his family dynamics.
This story started a little slow, but then the clues began to evolve. The ending leaves us with a more personal twist for Olympia that ends in an explosive cliffhanger.
I'm looking forward to the third installment, The Vengeance Game. I received an advance copy of this book from the author, and the above is my voluntary and honest review.
The Collector’s Game by Mary Stone and Matt Giegerich delivers a compelling continuation of the Olympia Smith series, weaving together serial killer intensity with multi-layered drama that keeps the story constantly evolving.
This installment feels more immersive and dynamic, with engaging secondary characters and complex personalities that add depth to the investigation. The interplay between the main case and the surrounding subplots creates momentum and intrigue without losing focus on the central threat. The tension builds steadily, and the authors once again craft a conclusion that satisfies while leaving a strong, enticing promise for what’s to come.
A gripping, well-constructed thriller that deepens the series and makes it clear this storyline is only getting stronger. I’m already looking forward to the next book.
The Dentist, has he struck again or is it a copy cat?
Kia?? Was a young woman who was working the streets, for a room, some food or for a fix. She was a promising teen but her mother who was an alcoholic that excused her promising talent and her dreams. Now Kia had spiraled down and her dreams were gone.
Until she met a trick that was the wrong trick. Was he the dentist? Was he another cruel man who was out to hurt another girl? How many girls will this Dentist or Copycat get to before the Agents find him. Special Agent Olympia Smith and Special Agent Cody Madison are on the job and they are trying their best to find this killer.
Mary Stone and Matt Giegerich have co-Authored the FBI Olympia Smith Series, this book is the second in the series. I enjoyed it and I think you will too.
The second book in the new Olympia Smith series did not disappoint! Olympia and Cody have no time to reset before being thrown into a new murder investigation. They have to figure out if this is a case of a copy cat or has "The Dentist" returned after a several-year lapse since supposedly last victim. The new victims now have an anklet left on them with a tooth from a victim in the first killing spree. Through DNA, Olympia and Cody realize that each new victim is related to a past victim. In the middle of this intense investigation, Olympia is contacted by the Belarus Council regarding her parents' death. It is a fast-paced story that keeps the reader guessing until the end on whom The Dentist is.
I read this book as part of an ARC team. It was a little slow for me in the beginning, but it got progressively better as the clues begin to roll out. Basically, a serial killer has returned after a 15-year hiatus. But is it a copycat or is the original killer from 15 years earlier. And there is a twist as the new victims lose a tooth but gain one on a piece of macabre jewelry attached to their body. Plus, there is a connection between the victims found 15 years earlier and the ones that are currently being killed. That's a bit of a plot twist that you get sucked into. And now the FBI (aka Olympia and Cody) are no longer sure they found all the bodies from the murder spree 15 years earlier. See, it just gets better!
Agent Smith and Agent Madison have finally landed the serial killer case The Dentist. This serial killer has a routine of pulling one tooth from each female he kills. There was a time period of 15 years of no Dentist killings, now they've started back up again. There has been a change to his M.O. however. Today's current victims has a piece of jewelry added to them with a tooth on it. Besides having one of their own pulled as well. Who is this serial killer and what motivates him, what is it with the teeth angle anyway? How quickly can the Agents get to him before the bodies start piling up again? This was a very good read, very detailed with lots of action. Can't wait for the next installment to come out. A must read you should look into.

This mystery is set in Hawaii and features FBI Special Agent Olympia Smith. She is tasked with apprehending a serial killer dubbed, The Dentist. After abducting his victims he removed a tooth from the body. He preyed on Honolulu sex workers. Olympia must determine if this latest murder is a copycat or a reemergence of the earlier killer.
The plot of this book is engaging and it held my interest from the start. The lead character was interesting and the writing easy to follow. I enjoyed the read and would recommend it to others.
It seems that no sooner than Olympia has closed the museum case than she’s handed a new one - welcome to the FBI. it looks like “The Dentist” has returned after a long time away and is, again, picking up street girls & murdering them. The only catch this time is he’s added a small anklet to each victim’s leg with a tooth attached. What is the significance of the tooth? Will that lead to his downfall and can the find him fast enough. Another well thought out mystery in the lovely islands of Hawaii.
Olympia and Cody didn’t even have time to relax, when they are assigned the Dentist case. After 15 years, murders of sex workers start again. Police never found the motif or why the killer stopped 15 years ago. The case looks like it cannot be solved. But with each page we learn more and of course, we guess wrong. lol sometimes it’s infuriating . I love the new characters and the unique twists in this series. The investigation is tense. There is a more personal twist for Olympia , which ends in the awesome cliff hanger. Again this new series did not disappoint. Another page turner.
WOW...what a great read. Love these new characters, Olympia and Cody. Rookie Olympia is sure getting the experience with solving one case and jumping right into another. Lots of twists and turns. Also happy to learn more of the background of the characters. Really looking forward to the next book, especially after such an ending. Thank you, Mary, and Mat for another great series. I am an ARC member and this is my honest review.
Dead sex worker outside Honolulu….police want this murder solved quick and enlist the aid of the FBI, Olympia and Cody are assigned. They discover many similarities to a series of murders from years ago by the “dentist”. This isn’t going to be any quick solve as hoped… This case has an added detail that points to the “dentist” but why after all these years would he start up again. When more bodies are discovered it’s all hands on deck…but the “who done it” keeps evading them. Great read!
Without a doubt the Olympia Smith series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! In The Collector’s Game Mary Stone and Matt Giegerich have crafted a story that had me rapidly turning pages. The list of suspects is daunting but Olympia and her partner, Cody, with determination and grit uncover the killer and the mysterious Bloody Madam. The authors plotted a superb mystery thriller and I cannot wait for the next in this series, especially with that cliffhanger!
Though Book 1 "The Killing Game" was as very good debut for the new Olympia Smith series, IMHO (H=Honest) "The Collectors Game" is better. The Dentist is more dislikable/despicable. The peripheral villains have no redeeming qualities. The investigation is better. The camaraderie amongst the primary characters, Cody and Olympia, is more real. All that said, I think Mary and Matt have a very good new series to follow. Thank you Mary and Matt. NEXT!!!
The Collector's Game is the second book in the Olympia Smith series. In this book Olympia and her partner, Cody, are assigned to try and find a killer, known as the Dentist. The dentist is targeting prostitutes and his signature move is pulling a tooth from the victim.
The book is full of twists and turns and I can hardly wait for the next book in the series,
Special agent Olympia Smith is investigating a case that started 15 years ago. Is this a copycat or the murderer back again? As she & her partner, Cody, follow the bodies, the “Dentist” is leaving clues to connect the cases from the past. Not only is he pulling teeth from the victims, he is leaving tooth jewelry from past victims. A fast paced read that will not disappoint!
This was an interesting story. It was slow going at first but a lot of info to set up the story and ones to follow. But I liked the characters and their lives intertwined with the FBI positions. I didn't guess who the bad guy was and was surprised but that's an element of a good story, to keep us guessing.
Cody and Olympia were perfect partners. They fed off each other in their job to bring down a serial killer, The Dentist. They had a lot of suspects and working together they figured out who killer was and why he chose his victims. Good read for an FBI serial killer.
The Collector's Game (Olympia Smith FBI Mystery Series) By: Mary Stone and Matt Giegerich. Wow FBI Special Agent Olympia Smith amazing character. In this series nonstop bodies dropping. It’s a great second book. I love this series ..
This is the second book in the Olympia Smith FBI series. The FBI SA is investigating the case of murdered smex worker’s. The “Dentist” murders and takes one tooth from the victim. This plot was so entertaining! It kept me on the edge of my seat. A great page turner.
I was definitely not ready for this book to end. The setting was unusual as you think of Hawaii more of a vacation spot. The characters were interesting with great back stories. A lot of twists and turns and unexpected endings. A real page turner.
The importance of this book is learning more about Olympia. Yes, she's able to solve two major cases, but we learn more about her background, intelligence, and her thought patterns. This is a perfect bridge to book 3.
A killer that took a break and now is choosing victims again. Can Olympia and her partner stop the killer. These books are really good love the new series can't wait for book 3.
This book is just as good as the first book. Olympia and her FBI team work together to solve a case with a serial killer from the past.Danger is all around. The next book sounds good, too.
This a great story about Olympia trying to find out who is killing people and taking a their teeth and find out who is doing it with lots of suspense and action. Thank you for this excellent story.
Oh, why does this happen? Such a good read, but oh, the ending! Now one must suffer until the next installment. I adore the characters and like how they are coming together. This is a must-read.
