You thought your chance of a happy-ever-after was gone forever. But then…
No longer a nerdy nobody, I’ve now been acclaimed Sovereign Emileia, ruler of the Martian colony Nuath, and in the nick of time. But at what cost? Life seems pointless without my soulmate Rigel, but everyone expects me to just shake off my heartbreak and assume my new responsibilities. I go through the motions, doing what I must, until an unexpected discovery brings me a glimmer of hope for the future. Now I’m determined to do whatever I can to salvage the happy ending I’d given up for lost—if it’s not already too late.

This was a decent conclusion to the series, and a vast improvement on the last book, in my opinion.
I really felt for M in this book as the full extent of her leadership role hits home. Thrust headfirst into the manipulative political world on Mars, she must keep her wits about her if she is to correctly separate those who are trustworthy from those who are power-hungry and who seek to use her for their own end. It's a tricky situation, especially for one so young. Betrayal abounds with heartbreaking consequences.
Separated from Rigel, she struggles to hold it all together. But M proves her resilience and demonstrates what a natural born leader she truly is.
The twist with Rigel was good and unexpected.
There is strength in numbers, and together, M and Rigel, are a force to be reckoned with.
One of the things I really liked about this series was how loyal both M and Rigel were to each other. M never wavered in her love of him, and though Sean was a genuine option, and he was more than happy to enter into a relationship with her, she stayed loyal to Rigel the entire time. Kudos to M.
I still felt so badly for Sean in this book. He definitely drew the shorter straw. The author attempted to give him his HEA at the end and I didn't like it - it was rushed and an ill fit.
Now that I've completed the series, I can say that it was enjoyable, but it didn't rock my world. If I was rating the entire series, I would rate it 3.5 stars. I can't ever see myself re-reading it, which is something I always do with series I love. That said, it's a well-written series that is suitable for tweens and up.
I so enjoyed this series even though it is meant for much younger readers. The story came to a very happy ending and left me wanting more. I so wish there would be a '5 years from now' book intended to a more mature audience because if just a touch could unravel such a power, I can't only imagine what would happen if Rigel and M really went all the way. :)
What a great conclusion to the series! I was appalled at the ending of book 3, because I was beginning to like Sean (I didn't want to like him, after all) and hope good things for him, and was infuriated that Rigel would willingly undergo memory erasure! Brenda did a great job of making everything work out in a very satisfying way, with plenty of excitement along the way.
In “Starfall” the last and best novel in the “Starstruck” series Sovereign Emileia (aka Marsha Truitt) swept up in the politics of Nuath has not only made contact with the Grentl; uncovered a power shortage that will mean the emigration of the Martians to Earth; but also learned of the conspiracy to steal Rigel’s memory and return him to his parents in Jewel, Indiana. Heartbroken but discovering a way to draw wisdom from her deceased grandfather through the royal scepter, Emileia (“M”) is prepared to fulfill her royal duty and appoint a Regent before she returns to Earth.
Returning to Jewel High School with his memory of the last year stolen, Rigel is quickly immersed in his studies, football, and Trina Squire’s flirtation until he notices the spark that flares whenever “M” accidently touches him. Drawn to her but shying away when he discovers his friend Sean is her royal Consort, Rigel questions the changes in his performance on the football field and his health, until they reignite their connection after the truth of their past is revealed.
Fast-paced and action-packed as the plot sweeps the reader from the politically volatile atmosphere of Nuath back to Jewel, Indiana where the Duchas (Earthlings) never suspect “M” is the Martians' monarch, intensity and suspense build with betrayals, intrigues and conflicts that include the Grentl plan for Earth. With twists like Rigel’s stolen memory and his breakup with M, Brenda Hiatt keeps the reader on the edge of their seat as the plot flows smoothly to an explosive confrontation near the end.
Determined to mend the damage that was done to her soulmate’s mind on Mars, M returns to Jewel High School only to have to deal with Trina’s flirtation, Rigel’s insecurities and fear of hurting his new friendship with Sean. Yet love prevails as their powers become even more enhanced. Sadly, Sean begins to realize that his obsession with M is hurting them both and that he must look elsewhere for love.
Brenda Hiatt does a remarkable job of developing the main characters throughout the series, and none more than Marsha (M) Truitt (the Martian Sovereign Emileia). She’s grown from a geeky, insecure and impulsive sixteen-year-old into a responsible, astute and resourceful leader.
I enjoyed " Starfall" a well-developed and exciting scify romance that will steal a lot of teenage girls’ hearts.
Please tell me Sean's father has not become like Sean's Uncle.... I don't think I could bare it if I learned that he did such a horrid thing to M. This is the last book in the series... I truly hope to finish it tonight to learn everything... and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING. This series has had it's up and downs, its drama, its tears, its anger, and so much more but the one thing this series gave me was an experience out of this world.
This series started off as a time passer and just something I didn't take seriously. But every book just annoyed me more and more and I'm not sure why I picked this one up after not reading the previous one. Anyways this one also sucked, anything that even remotely mentions Isreal, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't understand what's the need to mention something that doesn't exist. It's like the random isreal propaganda we see in old movies. Totally irrelevant and ridiculous. 🙄
The last book in this series and it summed up the series perfectly. Although the series is intended for a much younger reader it held my attention quite well. I had to set my thinking back many years to accept the social concepts of the main characters but the supporting characters did lend a bit of reality to the events of the series and allowed me to accept the books as I hope the author intended. I am glad I was able to have access to all four books. I now intend to start on a much different story on the cult started by a Science Fiction author whose books I found to be OK but not as engrossing as those of others of his time.
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 4th in the Starstruck series and ends in an HEA-ish way. Rigel and M prove their mate bond is real, using their “spark” to defeat the bad aliens. I loved seeing M and Rigel as a loving couple no longer in hiding. Sean has finally given up and I am glad to see it. There are still threats but seeing M and Rigel in high school vs. being royalty is hysterical.
>This book is appropriate for a young adult (16+) audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. There is a lot of politics and romance. The romance is very “G” rated.
This one finds M and Rigel back in Jewel and back in high school. Rigel doesn't remember anything that happened to him in the last year, which can cause all kinds of problems in High School. He recognizes M as the Sovereign Emileia, but doesn't remember the bond they share at first. Everyone is afraid to tell him too much, but it is M's touch that starts to repair the damage done to him. Can she jog his memory in time to have him help her solve the Grentl problem before it's too late? This one had a wonderful ending, but that's all I'm going to tell you.
What a conclusion to the series, or maybe! I remember being 16 and the author created a powerful character in Marsha Truitt that she is in my head. Even when I'm not reading, she's there. She began as someone I could identify with in high school. Then she began a journey of growth to become strong, brave, and wise, but never lost her humility and kindness.
Love love LOVED this book!! Without giving too much away, it was poignant, thrilling, satisfying, and overall delightful. It ran me through a range of strong emotions. When a book makes you feel that much, and ends with an uplifted feeling, you know it's a winner! So glad there appears to be more in the series. Definitely a new add to my 5 star books! :D
Really enjoyed this entire series! There were some clever twists and turns in the plot and interesting characters that actually had some morals. If you like ya sci-fi romance, this series is a must read. Five glittery stars.
I had to finish this series but I was checked out at book 3 which is probably why I didn’t like this one as much. I was at the point where I could have slapped all the main characters. They just annoyed me.
Wow, there were some good things that happened in this one. You can really see M mature. It is fun to see M and Rigel "meet again". Even though it has a somewhat conclusion, it is not really complete without the next short book. Even then, there is a lot that is left open for other books.
I am in complete awe with series and this book. I'm starstruck.
I've been marathon-ing the whole series. I never thought I could pull it off but I just did.
The four books: Starstruck, Starcrossed, Starbound, & Starfall respectively are insanely amazing books! I'm addicted.
As always and I have got to hand it to Brenda Hiatt, the writing, the plot the characters, EVERYTHING! is just perfect.
I love how M and Rigel's relationship have progressed and I just love reading about them!
In the end, the Starstruck series by Brenda Hiatt is one of the most amazing, captivating, and awesome books I've read in 2015. If I ever had a list of my most favorite series, this book would be there around the top and the list is pretty darn long.
I rate Starfall a 5 STARS out of 5! I love everything and I'll miss it now that everything has come to an end.
I went into this story with anxiety. The way that Ms. Hiatt left Rigel at the end of the last book was devastating to me. I appreciate the character growth shown by several characters but Sean's is my favorite. You can tell he's almost ready to accept the bond M and Rigel have and move on. The crap he has gone through has been hard, as well. M has also gone through the fire and come out stronger. So glad to see such excellent writing in a YA novel.
