This is great! I'm really looking forward to promoting it :) The mix of text and comic-style illustrations make it supportive to young graphic novel readers you want to extend into chapter books, or early chapter book readers who would like to appreciate graphic novels.
Children familiar with Funny Kid will flock to it, but it's also for:
- readers of graphic novels like Ducky the Spy: Expect the Unexpected or Unlikely Friends.
- readers you want to get into humour like A Clue for Clara but they need a few gateway books to get there.
- anyone who likes animals (especially ducks).
Ideal for ages 7-10, but my 11 y.o. wants the full story after reading the ARC.

i think this book is a wonderful idea to get kids engaged with reading! the small comics between paragraphs will definitely draw them in and get them to pick up the book!

This book is so funny the characters in it is really good! I love everything in this book I give it a five star review.

July 6, 2026Just a fun book we had on in the car while going on a bit of a drive with the kids. They enjoyed it and look forward to hearing more of king ducks adventures.
