Finding love in the Highlands

Keira Maccain delivers a stirring Scottish historical romance in Corrupted by the Ruthless Highlander. The story follows Margaret, an English lass fleeing a ruthless duke determined to destroy her family to claim her. Seeking refuge in the Highlands, Margaret proposes a marriage of convenience to Ryan, a brooding laird whose position depends on taking a wife.

What begins as a strategic arrangement soon deepens into something far more powerful. When danger strikes and Margaret is captured, Ryan’s protective instincts awaken with ferocity—revealing the depth of his devotion and the beast within.

A gripping tale of love forged in adversity, this novel blends passion, danger, and emotional growth in a way that lingers long after the final page.

Highly recommended for lovers of intense, romantic journeys set against the wild beauty of Scotland.

Margaret, a young english woman runs from her home to avoid a marriage to the cruel Duke Cunningham. She travels to Scotland and makes her way to Castle McGhee where she makes a proposition to Laird McGhee. She will be his fake fiancé to get the council to back off demanding he wed if he will provide protection to her. A deal is struck and Ryan, Laird McGhee moves her into his home. As they traverse the ins and outs of this fake relationship true feelings emerge, a very real wedding occurs, and life is good. Duke Cunningham eventually finds her and forcibly kidnaps Margaret, planning to return to England with her. Ryan hunts them down in the forest and teaches the Duke a deadly lesson.
If you enjoy a strong willed FMC, an equally determined MMC, a slow burn and an easy read, this is the book for you!

Corrupted by the Ruthless Highlander: A Medieval Historical Romance Novel (British Brides of the Highlands Book 2), my third read from author Keira McCain, 345-pages of Scottish Highlander historical romance. There are so many Scottish historical romances out there, but they're popular and I read my share of them. McCain is in good company along with Jayne Castel & Glynnis Campbell. I look forward to reading more from this this author with The Highlander's Silent Wife: A Medieval Historical Romance Novel already on my TBR list. “I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Margaret must flee her home to stop a betrothal and possible blackmail of her family.

She soon finds herself in the highlands of Scotland and with her she has brought every assumption she's ever heard about Scots with her.

To secure her safety she must do the unthinkable and make a deal with Laird Ryan, a Scotsman, in need af a bride.

I enjoyed this story, the bravery of Margaret and the fearlessness of Ryan were a good match.

However, Margaret's insistence that Ryan was acting beastly when he was trying to protect his clan was annoying. Other than that it was an enjoyable story and I recommend it to fans of the genre or author.

Book 2 of British Brides of the Highlands is awesome, now waiting on #3.

Margarette ran to protect her family. Ryan, a new Laird had his hands full and then this English Lass appears and needs his help. Their story is full of troubles but oh how well they take care of them. Keira is an awesome Highland author and this series is great!

Great book

This adventure was really interesting and exciting to read! She was so brave to travel to the highlands by herself! The characters were awesome especially the maids. It's always them that know everything!!! I love the way the story unfolded. When the Duke came I believe he made the worst mistake of his life! Thanks for sharing your story!!!

a Scottish Romance

Forced to flee from England into the Highlands to protect her family, Margaret makes a proposal to the first Laird she meets. The story that ensues is romantically lovely.

Very Good

I like the strong scotsman that is eager to put out the lies. And the Laird that can be tender too and goofy if that makes sense
