What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
Chad When I suggested my best friend, Blake, sign up for a reality dating show, I never imagined we’d end up here in Vegas, celebrating his upcoming wedding to another man. I’m thrilled for them. Two grooms means twice as many guys for us to party with this weekend and I know it’ll be the best bachelor party ever! I’ve seen how happy Liam makes Blake, and I hope that I can find a love like that one day.
The Reality of Ever After is a 55k word novella set after the events of books one and two of the Love Without Labels series. It included seven POVs: Blake, Liam, Kieran, and Jace from season one, and introduces Chad, John, and Ash, who will have upcoming books. This cannot be read as a standalone. It takes place over one weekend in Vegas for Blake and Liam’s bachelor party.
Lexi is an American author who is obsessed with queer happily ever afters. Most of her time is spent with her two kids, but if they’re asleep then she is either reading, writing, or watching hockey.
Professionally trained as a nurse, Lexi decided to start writing when she became a stay at home mom and the characters in her head haven’t stopped talking since.
Lexi also loves Diet Coke, traveling, and Halloween. Her house is probably obnoxiously decorated for whatever holiday is next because she thinks that little things that make people smile are important.
You can find her attempting to stay up to date with all social media under the name Lexi Amber.
How dare you make me love a character named Chad! I really loved this book because we got to see the guys from the first two books again, and I absolutely love them. Also, getting to see Chad be his absolute sunshiney self was perfect. I am now even more excited than I originally was for Chad's upcoming book and Ash in the next season. I love this series so much. This was short and sweet and gave attention to every character which was really nice as well.
This novella brings back the first two couples from the Love Without Labels series—Blake and Liam, along with Kieran and Jace—while also giving readers some juicy foreshadowing for the next couple in the series, John and Chad. There’s even a small peek at the possibilities for Ash, whose story is planned as the fourth book in the series (coming in 2027).
You’ll definitely want to read the first two books before jumping into this one so everything makes sense. The story follows Blake and Liam’s Vegas bachelor party with their closest friends, and a lot of the chaos centers around Chad—Blake’s lifelong best friend. Chad is an adorable, lovable, completely clueless (and supposedly straight) himbo who reminded me so much of Brad Bradley from 10 Ways to Accidentally Fall in Love by Emmy Sanders- one of my favorite book characters.
I especially loved how Chad and John kept getting thrown together throughout the trip. John—the quiet, grumpy, tattooed best friend of Liam—was the perfect contrast to Chad’s chaotic energy. Their interactions were adorable, and Chad’s antics had me laughing.
Overall, this novella felt like both an extended epilogue for the first two couples and an exciting preview of what’s coming next in the series. It was such a fun read, and it definitely made me even more excited for John and Chad’s book later this year! ***I was gifted an ARC of this book***
So much fun packed into this! Love getting to see Blake & Liam and Jace & Kieran again and hanging out with their friends. I really enjoyed the Chad and John and how Chad was just irresistible to grumpy John -it was hilarious how he just couldn't tell Chad no, no matter what. :) I can't wait to read their book, the ending left so many questions! I also enjoyed getting to know Ash and am excited to learn more about his story. I have a hunch where his book is going to go and I'm excited to see that also! Overall, this was a fun interlude in the lives of all these guys while we wait for the next main characters. :) I wish more series did something like this. Fun!!
I received this novella from the authors as a Beta Reader and an ARC Reader of the finished work. I have gave my feedback straight to the writers after I beta read the first draft. Below is my review from the final ARC.
THE REALITY OF EVER AFTER: Volume One By Lexi Amber & Bec Benson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received an E-book ARC edition of this novel directly from the authors in exchange for an honest review. It is Available NOW at Lexiamber.com & In Paperback on Amazon. It’s dropping on Kindle Unlimited on March 13th.
This is a 186-page Fast Paced, Multi-POV (7), Grumpy/Sunshine, Established Couples, Bi-Awakening, Vegas Chaos MM Romance. This is a Novella that acts as a Bonus Epilogue to THE REALITY OF WANTING HIM and THE REALITY OF WANTING MY BULLY. It also sets up two more books, coming soon! A Spinoff titled WANTING MY HUSBAND and Book 1 of Season 2 of Love Without Labels, THE REALITY OF WANTING THEM. ***NOTE: If you haven’t read the first 2 books in the Love Without Labels Series, GO DO THAT FIRST, as not only will this give away big spoilers to those books, but you won’t understand most of what is happening, creating plot holes for yourself. Plus, you won’t regret it, THEY ARE PHENOMENAL!
Written in 1st person POV x7, this novella mostly takes place in Vegas, after a quick update at Blake and Liam’s farm. Our friend group is converging to celebrate their upcoming wedding by throwing a joint bachelor party in Vegas. What could go wrong?
This was a really fun, quick read. I had the pleasure of beta/sensitivity reading this in it’s first draft, as well as ARC reading it. The humor is next level and has a Hangover movie/Katy Perry song vibe. The plot is very simple, just like any trip to Vegas, overly complicated details only creates a tense situation in a fun environment. It will leave you with WANTING MORE, as this is mostly a HFN ending. You are even going to crave more of our established couples, which also isn’t a bad thing. The pacing is good, bouncing from POV to POV, group activities and spice moments on and off page to help break up the unhinged Chad & John Show. The authors wrote our characters in a style so we could have fun with them, while learning to minor details that help set up what is to come in future novels without being too deep, saving those details for later. There are also 2 extra scenes at the end to enjoy from Jace’s uncle’s POV, one where they meet another one of our individual’s in the group in the past. The other take place in Vegas during this Timeline.
With seven personalities thrown together in a very loud environment, with alcohol, adventures are had! especially with an uncontrollable hyper Chad & grumpy baddie John. Most of the novella is from their POVs. Chad is Blake’s straight bestie, who is even louder than Blake. Chad planned the trip and dropped money to make sure it was perfect for his best friend, but secretly is lonely and only one person notices and it’s the person that doesn’t want anything to do with him. JOHN, Liam’s bestie, who is closed off, quiet, with a grumpy exterior. From the moment they get to the airport, Chad is on him like white on rice, wanting him to open up and have fun. Outside of those two, Ash who has only come out as Bi to this group and lives in hiding in his everyday life, observes everyone and their love for each other as friends or partners and just wants to experience being Bi without the hangups and fear, and goes on his own adventure. We get a small update on Jace and Kieran and how their married life is progressing, with some nice honest and healthy conversations, future planning, and some sexy time that Chad just wanted to know more details about, like it was his business what they do behind closed doors. Blake and Liam’s farm is building nicely, but Blake really wants to let loose, and his patience is constantly on edge, leading to him and Liam disappearing randomly and often to rectify that.
Go Read Season One of this universe if you haven’t yet. If you have, set yourself up for success and read this novella before the spinoff and Season Two drops!
This novella was such a fun read to follow up the first 2 books of the Love Without Labels series. The 7 different POVs were a great way to show how a raucous bachelor weekend in Vegas can really take off.
Drinking, dancing, gambling, and 1 straight man that wants to ask allllll the questions about the queer lifestyle? Hell yes! And of course some fun sexy times 😏
I loved that we got to re-visit Liam & Blake and Jace & Kieran's relationships, their books were so good, so getting extra followup into their HEAs and their fun spicy couple times? Perfection 🤌🏼 Chad and John really steal the show as Blake and Liam's best friends with their sunshine/grumpy dynamic, and the funny chaos that is Chad, makes me super excited for the next book. Getting to know Ash a bit more was also fun, he definitely had a fun weekend for himself 😏 and I can't wait to see him come out of his shell more.
The novella is a bridge between the LWL series and the upcoming spinoff books, the Reality of Wanting My Husband and the Reality of Wanting Them, and shouldn't be read as a standalone (unless you like to be really confused).
A Vegas bachelor party! Whatever could go wrong ?!
Multi POV
As much as I love Blake and Liam and Kieran and Jace. I was so excited for Chad and John. And learning more about Ash at the end I loved. It made me more excited for Ash’s book.
But right now I can’t wait for John and Chad!! John protecting our Chad!! Love! And I knew I liked Chad in Blake’s book, but I love him even more now! He’s such a lovable ditz!
He better not be breaking Johns heart after all of that!!!
Can’t wait for the next ones!!!
Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to arc read this novella !
This was such a fun read! It was so entertaining and had me laughing throughout. I absolutely loved all the different POVs .Vegas has never sounded better. I adored Chad and John. John is such a grumpy but caring man, while Chad is like a golden retriever puppy. Their relationship development was so fun to read. Getting to revisit both Liam and Blake’s relationship, as well as Kieran and Jace’s, was something special. I loved that we got to see more of their sexy times too. Ash was a lot of fun,he really entertained himself, and I loved it. I can’t wait for Chad and John’s book. I’m so excited for it!
-established couples x2 -bachelor party shenanigans -forced proximity -what happens in vegas does not, in fact, stay in vegas -found family
ahhhhhh shut up shut up shut up!! this was sooo cute & hilarious & has me so excited for the rest of these guys stories & istgaaaawwddd lexi & bec if ash doesn't end up with the uncles i will cry!! haha
ARC Review The reality of Ever After By Lexi Amber and Bec Benson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This novella was such a fun and spicy package I absolutely loved all the couples and characters. I haven't read any of the previous books in the series, but I'm definitely going to now!
Novellas like this are some of my favorites because you get to see more of some of your favorites. Plus we get to know more about upcoming books and couples!
I loved getting to see more of Chad, he’s such a fun character. I cannot wait for his and John’s book! We even get to a little more of Ash and possibilities for his book 👀
This novella cannot be read without reading the first two books!
This was so good. After Wanting Him and Wanting My Bully getting to see Blake/Liam and Jace/Kieren a couple months later and getting to know people we already met who will be in the next ones was great. The chemistry was good and it was well written.
Such a cute novella and i definitely need more of Chad & John can’t wait for their story. I need to go back and read Blake & Liam’s story but man I love them all! Can’t wait to see where Ash’s story goes. I love this whole series and i definitely need more
This is a pretty short novella packed with loads of POV’s. I’m sure this is repeated across most other reviews but this book is DEFINITELY not a standalone. I have read all the other books in the series and still had to make myself a little name chart to remember who was who (I am an idiot with terrible memory though so that is probably on me).
It was so lovely to check in with the couples from the previous books. This also made me incredibly excited for Chad and John’s book. I loooved the grumpy/sunshine bits in this. Chad as the loveable, oblivious himbo is on of my all time favourite character types. That man does not give up and I absolutely love that for him.
However, I will also say that I very much resented being made to root for a man named Chad. In this book that features a some pretty crazy vegas shenanigans, the endearingly sweet man named Chad was definitely the most unrealistic aspect of the plot (apologies to any Chads that might be reading this, you can’t argue with facts though).
This book kind of ends on a cliffhanger so I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Well this little novella was a hell of a ride! I loved every second of the antics and can't wait for more from Lexi Amber and Bec Benson! These are auto buy authors for me!
I received an ARC of this novella and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
“This really was the best bachelor party weekend ever.”
Well, I’m 100% with this quote because I absolutely loved this novella.
Just to start out, I’m so glad that we get to revisit the main characters from book one and two. We see Blake and Liam from book one, and their relationship is still going great after all the drama they had to endure toward the end of that book. Everything seems to be going great with them and the farm.
Then we get to see Kieran and Jace from book two, who at this point are already married.
I love that we get this contrast where, in book one, we got to see the couple have their issues, work through them, and then get married. For book two it wasn’t the same. They fixed their issues from early on when they first met in high school, but we never got to fully see them relearn each other as adults.
So even though they are now married, we still see some growing pains, which feels very realistic for a real couple, especially with it involving money.
I do 100% feel like where Jace is coming from is also due to how we saw his parents treat him in his book, but I’m glad we got the conclusion of them working it out together in the novella. I’m just glad to see that they are both still happy together and still going strong together.
But beyond that, this novella also sets up the next couples.
We have already met Chad, and from what we already knew about him I did not think he was going to be this crazy, but I am absolutely obsessed with him in every way. I cannot wait to see this man get his happily ever after.
Then we get John, and all I can say about him is that my heart is already breaking for him. I know we’re not even going to truly find out the depth of it until their book, but I feel like these two deserve everything together. I cannot wait to see what happened the night after and where their relationship goes in their book.
And then lastly there’s Ash. He was our last POV. We didn’t see him as much, but I do feel like that was deliberate because his book is going to be the farthest out.
I’m glad we’re not left on a bigger cliffhanger. We get to learn a little bit more about him and his struggles, and I feel like we can kind of see at this point who he’s going to end up with. Even if it’s not who I think, I am so here for knowing that he is going to have an MMM book.
I just can’t wait to see him come out of his shell more and see where their story ends up.
This was the best merging of two interconnected stories and the beginning of two more that I could have ever imagined!!
First and foremost, whoever would have imagined that I'd be giving any kind of love credit to a character named Chad 😂 OR that I'd be rooting for a character named Chad period!! 😱 BUT, Chad is the man of the hour, the star of this book, the comic relief and had me laughing and giggling throughout this entire book. Oh, my goodness I just couldn't help the uncontrollable laughter that burst out of me every single time Chad, or thoughts of Chad, were on the page. My sides seriously hurt. 😂😂 I'm truly looking forward to reading more about what comes next for the constantly happy, outgoing, non-filtered Chad and the grumpy man, John that Chad considers his new bestie-in-law. 😏
As for the other couples; Blake and Liam, Kieran and Jace it was the best of both worlds in revisiting old friends and catching up on some extremely hot times. 🥵 Let me tell you...married life does not make these men dull in any way shape or form. They are spicier than ever 🔥 and I loved every moment of how much they wanted and loved each other. Any and everywhere.❤️
Lastly, but certainly not least, is their friend, Ash, who is still partly in the closet. Ash is a bit quieter, only having admitted that to Blake that he was Bi when Blake himself came out. So coming on this trip was a huge step for Ash as he doesn’t have other friends in the community since he's just stepping a toe out into the rainbow light. His story is just unfolding and this Vegas trip is the tip of the iceberg for what's to come in his future and I can't wait to see how deep he goes all in once he finally allows himself to be who he truly is.
Told from all seven POVs the novella was seamless as their Vegas weekend unfolds from the moment they leave for the trip as they all board the plane to head back to reality. It's a bachelor party to celebrate the pending nuptials between Liam and Blake and it includes their best friends, but it's all planned by the always happy Chad. It's fun, it's steamy, and it's all about friendship with love at the heart of each interaction. Execution 💯 perfection of this entire novella!

The Reality of Ever After is a 52k word novella set after the events of books one and two of the Love Without Labels series. It included seven POVs: Blake, Liam, Kieran, and Jace from season one, and introduces Chad, John, and Ash, who will have upcoming books. This is not intended to be read as a standalone.
It serves two purposes: Extended epilogue content for readers of Season One of Love Without Labels (Him + Bully) to show you Blake and Liam's bachelor weekend in Vegas, and... A prequel establishing the foundation for a future couple (Wanting My Husband)
This novella ends with a HFN for the main men of Wanting My Husband, and helps you get to know a main character in The Reality of Wanting Them a little better. We promise, they will ALL get their happily ever afters. This is just a piece of their journey to get there!
MY THOUGHTS Check in with our couples from Love Without Labels and get set up for Chad and John’s story. Everybody’s hilarious here, and there’s enough steam and romance to keep you satisfied on that front. Plus, lots of laughs! Chad is 50% himbo, 50% naive sunshine, and 100% adorable. John is... well, helloooooo, daddy. You get a feel for their dynamic and can see why they’ll fall for each other. They’re opposites who fill in each others’ empty spaces.

Thanks to Lexi Amber and Bec Benson for an eARC of this book. All opinions are mine. Reviews posted regularly on StoryGraph, Goodreads, Amazon, Instagram, BlueSky, BookBub, and Fable.
When I finally got this ARC today, I honestly thought it would be a cozy, steady read like the previous books in the series. But this thing is more like a crazy Vegas ride 🎢 that kept accelerating toward the end.
Like what the hell just happened 🙃 It’s a hilarious, emotional weekend full of drinking, gambling, chaos, and partying 🕺 Fast, spicy, fun, light, ridiculous, so obviously I couldn’t stop reading. The multiple POVs didn’t make it confusing, they made it addictive. And somehow, despite all that, the story still feels smooth and easy to follow.
But can we talk about this for a second: 7 POVs. SEVEN. In a novella. Under 200 pages. That shouldn’t work. And yet it does?? Somehow??
We know 4 of the MMCs quite well, but 3 are new, and they’re still well-formed, distinct, and instantly lovable. Like how!
I loved seeing Liam & Blake and Jace & Kieran again, confirming that our babies are still very happy, very kinky 🤤 and deeply in love 🥰
But CHAD. I mean, we all need a Chad. End of discussion. No wonder John was.. let’s just say, he didn't stand a chance 😋 Chad is this adorable chaotic whirlwind who steals every scene, and then there’s John with his mysterious broody energy like what the hell am I doing???
And I did NOT expect to be so anxious about their story. I knew it would be HFN, but suddenly it’s the end and I’m just like: no wait WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM I NEED ANSWERS 🫨
And Ash 🥺 Such a pure and innocent soul that must be protected at all costs 💙 We don’t see much of him, but I already need his story because I need confirmation that this man is loved properly and cherished like he deserves ♥️
Still my favourite thing is how Lexi and Bec make you fall in love with all these men in basically two days 🙃 That’s insane storytelling control.
I expected a “nice little novella.” I got a bit of drunken chaos, many feelings, a ton of laughter, great energy and even one Elvis 😆 but.. it is Vegas, right? 😁✨
ARC Review – The Reality of Ever After (A Love Without Labels Novella) by Bec Benson & Lexi Amber
I received an ARC from the authors and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
It was so much fun jumping back into the world of Love Without Labels and catching up with two of the series’ favourite couples, Blake & Liam and Kieran & Jace. This novella takes the gang to Las Vegas for Blake and Liam’s bucks weekend, and what follows is a chaotic, hilarious, and heart-warming adventure with plenty of familiar faces and a few intriguing new ones.
One of the things this novella does really well is expand the world and introduce readers to potential new couples in the series. We meet Chad, Blake’s best friend — the stereotypical golden boy who firmly believes he’s straight but secretly wants the kind of love his best friend has found. Then there’s John, Liam’s best friend — a broody, tattooed loner who’s convinced relationships aren’t for him. Their dynamic screams grumpy vs sunshine, and the sparks between them hint at what could be a fantastic future story.
Another great addition is Ash, another of Blake’s friends, who joins the trip after recently making a surprising discovery about his own sexuality. Watching him tentatively step into a whole new world of self-discovery adds another layer of warmth and excitement to the story.
As always, Bec Benson and Lexi Amber deliver exactly what readers of the series love — sharp banter, laugh-out-loud humour, heartfelt friendship, and a generous dose of smexy moments. Even though it’s a novella, it feels like a meaningful bridge in the series, setting up new stories while giving readers more time with characters we already adore.
Overall, The Reality of Ever After is a fun, flirty, and entertaining addition to the Love Without Labels world and a perfect teaser for what’s coming next. I’m definitely excited to see where these new character dynamics lead.
A fantastic, feel-good read that leaves you eager for the next chapter in the series.
🎰 The Reality of Ever After by Lexi Amber and Bec Benson 🎰
“Vegaaas!”
im still trying to stop cheesing like a fool after reading this. seriously. i think Chads energy is contagious. 🤭
this Love Without Labels novella includes Blake, Liam, Jace, Kieran, John, Chad, and Ash (with a teeny bit of Patrick and Joey)! i wasn’t sure how it was going to work, being a novella with so many different POVs, but everything flowed PERFECTLY. the whole story is about Blake and Liam’s bachelor party, which takes place in none other than VEGAS BABYYYY! 🎲 i just *knew* this was going to be a fun time, and i wasn’t wrong!
Kieran and Jace were great as always, ya know, sneaking off to bang as usual.
🐓 can i take a moment to say how proud i am of Blake for doing the nearly impossible and leaving his babies at home for a bit to go celebrate in Vegas? i know that must’ve been so hard for him 🐓
between couples massages, casinos, clubs and an unexpected appearance from Elvis (😉), i was never bored while reading this. in fact, I WANT MORE. seriously can’t wait for the next books to come out!
speaking of… CHAD. CHAD STOLE THE WHOLE SHOW FOR ME!! i mean, ive always liked him, but seeing the way he interacted with John just made me LOVE him. meanwhile, John’s over here trying to be a grumpy asshole, and Chad is like ‘uhhh nope. you’re gonna be my bestie. thanks. 😇’
🖤 another shout out to Ash for becoming more open and exploring himself while in Vegas. you go, Ash baby. 🖤 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
some tidbits: 🎲 found family 🎲 bachelor partyyyy 🎲 love me tender package 💒🤭 🎲 established couples gettin their freak on (but Liam told me to tell you NO ORGIES) 🎲 forced proximity 🎲 flip f*cking (don’t ask Chad what that is) 🎲 sexy baddie biker with … piercings 😏🍆 🎲 i HAVE to add the most accurate quote to describe the casino ever:
“Uh… baby? It says you won ten dollars.” Blake pumps his fist anyway. “Hell yes! And I only had to spend, like, fifty.”
Review for The Reality Of Ever After by Lexi Amber & Bec Benson
This novella took place at one time and in one place (Liam & Blake's bachelor party in Vegas) but was split into seven different POV's. Which was super fun & it flowed beautifully. But I'm going to review it in parts, by couple, because that makes the most sense to me.
Liam & Blake - Everything starts with them on their farm and right from chapter one things get extremely steamy, super sweet & funny. It brings back all the feelings I had while reading their book but also pushes their love story father along. They were my second favorite couple to read during the bachelor party weekend.
Kieran & Jace - It was lovely to see them again & know they are still very happy together. They had one pretty hot scene that I think everyone who loves smut will enjoy. But the story didn't really move them forward. Which makes sense for the time, place and occasion but it would have been nice to hear them vocalize a little more about their future together.
Ash - Poor sweet baby Ash was the single guy on this trip even if the trip started with three single men 😉 He is adorable & I loved a solid half of his Vegas story. I cannot wait to read his book. But there was a scene towards the end of the novella that made me cringe with secondhand embarrassment so hard I had to stop reading his chapter & skip ahead to the next part.
Chad & John - Separately, Chad & John are both really entertaining & engaging characters to read about. Together they are something almost magical. I have a strong feeling that they will try to win the title of my favorite couple in the Love Without Labels universe. Very grumpy/sunshine, black cat/golden retriever vibes. Mix in a bi-awakening & past trauma and you get this explosive chemistry that you can't help but love.
This is a Novella featuring all our beloved characters from the previous books in the „Love without Labels Series“ and their friends who will get their own book soon.
The group of friends is about to fly to Las Vegas to celebrate Liam & Blake‘s upcoming wedding. A bachelor party in Vegas… what could possible go wrong?
Chad, Blake‘s best man and our main character, planned the whole thing… It‘s going to be epic!
Chad is an extraordinary sunshiny, happy character who is very oblivious to how the things he says might sound to other people. He has no filter at all and is so innocent and pure…
He also is excited about everything… he blurts out loud questions on a plane, is eager to know everything and is determined to make John (Liam’s best man) his next BFF…
He loves all people and tries to make everyone happy.. deep down he is shy and lonely though…
So cuddling is on his agenda, for sure. Who best to do it with? His roommate and new BFF - it doesn’t matter to Chad that he himself is straight.. or is he? Cuddling with a guy, holding hands, hugging - all absolutely normal… right? Absolutely…!!! John - a lot annoyed in the beginning and always grumpy has no chance at all than to fall for him in the end.
Oh Chad… my newest obsession and favorite character! He stole my heart for sure. One wants to embrace him so badly and stroke over his hair and tell him „good boy“ and „everything is all right“…
I had soo much fun reading this Novella! Next to Chad and John we get to read chapters from Blake & Liam (book 1) Jace & Kieran (book 2) and Ash, their friend, who is yet to meet his forever guy in an upcoming book!
Next though is Chad & John‘s book „Wanting my husband“ coming later this year… I can’t wait!!! 💗💗💗
The boys are back! Bec and Lexi’s Love Without Labels series was one of my fave new series of 2025, and I was delighted to see our first two couples back together for a bachelor party trip. Not only does this novella serve as an extended epilogue for Liam, Blake, Jace, and Kieran, but it also sets the stage for the upcoming spinoff book. Plus we get more insight into Ash before his eventual book in Season 2 of the series. We even get a bit of Jace’s uncles and what they get up to in Vegas.
This was such a fun read! I loved getting to see more of our first two couples and getting more insight into what their lives look like after the show. It was so fun to see the different friend groups converge on this trip and all the shenanigans that ensued! Expect lots of alcohol, d*ck necklaces, some steamy time for the couples, and some self-discovery for a few of our friends.
For me, the star of this story was Chad and his infatuation with John. Their golden retriever x black cat dynamic is so fun, and I love how our grumpy John slowly thawed for Chad and his antics throughout the weekend’s activities. Chad being the token “straight guy” of this group but having absolutely zero chill the whole time had me cackling the whole book. This story was a perfect set-up for Chad and John’s upcoming book, Wanting My Husband. I’m already (im)patiently waiting to read more of this chaotic duo!
Overall, I adored this novella. I binged the whole thing in one day, laughing and smiling the whole time. It was one of my top reads in February! If you haven’t already, make sure you’ve read the first two books (The Reality of Wanting Him and The Reality of Wanting My Bully) before you start this one.
What an absolute blast reading this book was!! These guys made Vegas seem like so much fun. And I loved all the different POVs. It warmed my heart seeing Kieran and Jace again (Bully) and seeing where they are now in their relationship. And while I didn’t read the first book (Him) I did feel like I had enough insight between this book and Bully to not feel totally lost in Liam and Blake’s relationship. But I highly recommend reading The Reality Of Wanting Him & The Reality Of Wanting My Bully before picking this one up.
First we’ve got Chad, this guy had me in freaking stitches. I mean I laughed so hard at some of his antics and I couldn’t wait to hear what he was going to say next. There may have even been a few times I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. I just couldn’t get enough of this happy golden retriever. Next we have John, the quite grumpy friend who really didn’t want to be on the trip but did it for his bestie Liam. The way he tried to be so indifferent to Chad and ignore him but just couldn’t seem to follow through, so cute. No matter how hard he tried he just seemed to be drawn to Chad and dare I say wasn’t so grumpy or quite around him.
Last we Ash who’s a bit of anomaly for me, I can only assume there was more of him in book 1 as it read like we should know him. But I’m really very interested in his story. I mean it’s apparent where it’s going from what we see of him and his interactions and he definitely intrigued me.
The Reality Of Ever After was a great way to show us the couples after LWL and give us insight into the new couples books. I can’t wait for Chad and John’s book The Reality Of Wanting My Husband and Ash’s book The Reality Of Wanting Them.
WHAT TO EXPECT: 🔥MM romance 🎲 Established Couples (x2) 🔥Vegas Bachelor Party 🎲Grumpy x Sunshine 🔥Forced Proximity 🎲Found Family 🔥Bi-Awakening
It was so exciting to jump back into the Love Without Labels world! Catching up with our two established couples feels like such a privilege! I mean, how often do we get updated on beloved characters?
Seeing Blake and Liam and Kieran and Jace live out their happily ever afters is such a special treat! They’re all just as in love when we first left them, if not more so now. And holy moly that spice!! RIP Blake’s booty lol.
Our introduction to past side characters also kept the story new and interesting! Speaking of which, Chad and John stole my heart! I’m such a sucker for Grumpy x Sunshine and wow, do John and Chad DELIVER. I was already looking forward to their book (Wanting My Husband), but their scenes made the wait near impossible! Also, I need a Chad in my life. Everyone needs an adorable happy chaos gremlin in their life.
And last, but not least, Ash! My heart ached for him. I want him to get his HEA so badly. Honestly, I was a little worried about his book since I’m not usually a fan of polyamorous relationships, but Lexi Amber and Bec Benson may sway me yet because the set-up for Ash’s story is already compelling. Either way, I will be reading because Ash deserves double the love.
I can’t wait to see what happens next with all these guys! Their friendship is definitely one for the books, too!
**I received an ARC and this is my honest review.**
***This book contains spoilers and couples from The Reality of Wanting Him and The Reality of Wanting My Bully. You must read those before this.***
Liam and Blake are finally getting married, and to celebrate, they're having a bachelor party in Vegas! They've invited married couple Jace and Kieran, along with Blake's best friends Chad and Ash and Liam's best friend John. They've pulled out all the stops -- renting the penthouse at a hotel, having a private table at a bar, and even a private room at a restaurant. But all of our men have different goals.
Liam and Blake, of course, want to see how much they can hook up, Kieran and Jace are just happy to be traveling together, and Ash wants to finally explore his bisexuality...which leaves John and Chad, the perfect example of grumpy/sunshine.
John is tattooed, pierced, and looks and acts like an angry biker, and Chad is a human golden retriever. When Chad latches onto John, John has no idea why. But as they spend time together, John finds that he's actually beginning to have fun again for the first time in ages. But they have to remember that what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.
AHHHHHH I CAN'T WAIT FOR JOHN AND CHAD'S BOOK!! No spoilers, but I love them SO MUCH already. Chad is so funny and sweet and good and he deserves the world, and John is deeply hurt but so protective and sweet and he definitely needs that light in his life. So can you guys PLEASE write that book so fast so I can read it? lol other than that it was so fun to catch up with our couples. I love peeking in on established couples and I can't wait to find out what happens with Ash.
MY OPINION: I very much liked the two books in this series, and this is a great check-in and spin-off of the series. It is noted at the beginning of the book, but I will add a reminder here that you will want to read the two books prior to this one, or there will be a lot of confusion.
So much about this was great. Let’s begin with our check-in with the couples we met. We see how they are doing and what the relationships are like. This is a trip to Vegas for Liam and Blake’s couple’s bachelor party. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? I guess we will find out in the spin-off.
Primarily, we are watching Liam’s best friend and Blake’s best friend get to know each other. It leaves us hanging in the story, but the next book takes us through their relationship, and I can’t wait. There are some great spice scenes between couples, a little cuddling, and a moment where Ash visits a club for the first time. We get to know a few more people as well.
Generally, I loved the book and can’t wait for the next story. So much fun. It’s written in changing POV’s, but not just the MC’s; you get to see the story from each member of the group, even though Chad and John are the main focus. I loved that it was, as the story progressed, but you got a different way of seeing it.
Honestly, there is not much I can say other than this was great. It was a great part of the other two books and a wonderful setup—prologue—for the next one. Read all three before the next one releases you like them.
The Reality of Ever After by Lexi Amber and Bec Benson is a really fun follow-up to The Reality of Wanting Him and The Reality of Wanting My Bully. The Reality of Ever After should be read after reading the other 2 in the Love Without Labels series.
It's time to celebrate Liam and Blake from The Reality of Wanting Him. It is their bachelor party and everyone is going to Las Vegas. The group includes Kieran and Jace from The Reality of Wanting My Bully and several side characters from the other 2 books - Chad, John and Ash.
The group arrives in Vegas to celebrate and have fun. Chad has planned this trip and is so excited for it. There is gambling, great food, beverages, and so much more.
Throughout the book we see each of the characters also have their own experiences in Vegas. We get to learn more about Chad, John and Ash and see how they mesh with each other. The book is great set up for the spin-off series.
Chad is so lovable. I loved seeing him share his feelings with John. I know Chad can seem like a lot to take, but is genuinely a lovely guy. I was taken aback by his effervescence at first, but he quickly grew on me. John is a secret softie with a tough exterior that just wants to make Chad happy. Ash is a sweetheart opening up to new experiences.
I am eagerly awaiting the first spin-off book!
