Got a call sayin’ my old flame’s on the run—with a baby on her hip and danger on her heels. In my world, that don’t fly.
Four years ago, back in Afghanistan, Christina was the one who got away. We burned hot and fast before hell broke loose. I gave her my seat on the last flight out. Thought I’d never see her again.
Now she’s back—terrified and carryin’ secrets. She says she’s runnin’ from an ex, but the truth cuts deeper. She’s got powerful enemies. And that baby? Mine.
I’m Slate—VP of the Sons of Rage MC. No one threatens what’s mine. Not the bastards who put a price on her head, not the bounty hunter stalkin’ her, and sure as hell not the empire that thinks it’s untouchable. She protected our daughter alone. Now it’s my turn.
“Slate” is the heart-pounding second installment in the Sons of Rage MC series. Each book in the series is a standalone with its own guaranteed happily ever after, featuring dark secrets, redemption, and the kind of fierce, protective love only a true outlaw can give. For the wildest ride, read the Sons of Rage MC books in order and follow the brotherhood as they fight for loyalty, justice, and the women who tame their chaos.
Aria Ray writes suspenseful, hot, and intense romance stories featuring powerful alpha-men and witty heroines, full of sacrifice, love, and happily-ever-afters. Like the heroines of her novels, Aria has always had a crush on sinfully sexy bad boys - dark, controlling, irresistible, but tender and loving.
When she is not writing or daydreaming about new stories, she loves to spend time with her own gang of alpha males - a husband and twin boys. But the real mob boss of the family is Don Corleone - the cat.

Mfc is an idiot, plot mistakes, and spelling mistakes. Didn’t enjoy it.
Well that was disappointing to say the least. I ended up skimming pages because I really didn’t like Christina. She hides Slate’s daughter from him for nearly FOUR YEARS!!! She wouldn’t have even told him about her till she had no choice. 😡😡😡😡 I hate women who do that! Not only does she not tell him about their daughter but she’s constantly on the run and hiding from really bad men that chase her for FOUR YEARS!!! 😂😂😂😂 I’m not sure if they’re totally inept or she’s just amazing at running. I’M SORRY BUT IT’S RIDICULOUS!!
Christina met and (Supposedly.) fell in love with Slate when she was a reporter and he was in the army in Afghanistan. Years later one of his team calls him to say he had seen Christina and she’s obviously on the run from someone. Slate immediately goes to rescue her and her daughter. He takes them both back to the Mc compound and they’re soon madly in love and having s*x. Yet Christina is still hiding that he’s the father of her daughter. Even though his parents both guessed it straight away as she looks like him. Slate is justifiably angry and hurt that she hid it from him. Meanwhile the baddies are still after Christina as she found something in Afghanistan but can’t remember what as she nearly died in an explosion. 😂😂😂😂
There are parts of this book that are good and I liked Slate but I hated Christina. There are a lot of mistakes as well: 🔵 Slate tells Christina he’s now the VP of the Sons of Rage and Christina is shocked he’s in an Mc. As her memory was affected after she was badly injured. Yet later on she said she didn’t go to him as he’s in a 1% club and she was afraid. At the beginning she said she looked for him but couldn’t find him as she had forgotten about the Mc. 🔵 She’s badly injured and has to have brain surgery and is in a coma yet her baby is fine. Really doubtful. 😢 🔵 The baddies have put a contract out on Christina, yet it takes their expert team FOUR YEARS AND THEY STILL DON’T GET HER!! 😂😂😂😂 🔵 There’s no explanation how she managed to get data and steal it from Afghanistan. 🔵 Christina breaks into a secure area in the baddies company and the door has a hand scanner that HER PALM OPENS!! I can’t take it anymore. 😂😂😂😂
Slate is the VP for the Sons of Rage MC and all it took was one phone call from a buddy that sent his life in a totally different direction. The call was about a woman from his past that was on the run from a stalker with a child in her arms. Slate and some of his brothers showed up just in time and took Christina and her little girl back to the clubhouse to keep them safe. Those old feelings never went away and now they were trying to find their way back to each other.
Christina’s life is still on the line and old secrets are coming to the surface. There is plenty of suspense, secrets coming to life and a road to finding an HEA. Another awesome MC read by this author.
Slate by Aria Ray is the kind of MC romance that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t loosen its grip until the very last page.
From the moment Slate learns that the woman he never stopped loving is on the run—with a baby and enemies closing in—the story shifts into high gear. Christina isn’t just an old flame; she’s unfinished business, buried feelings, and a future he never knew existed. The reveal that the child she’s been protecting alone is his hits hard, instantly raising the stakes and the emotional weight of every choice that follows.
What makes this story so powerful is the balance between action and heart. The danger is real—bounty hunters, secrets, and powerful enemies keep the tension razor sharp—but it’s the emotional fallout that lingers. Christina has carried fear, guilt, and responsibility on her own for years, and watching her slowly learn to trust Slate again is deeply satisfying. Slate, in turn, is fierce, protective, and unwavering, the kind of man who doesn’t hesitate when it comes to claiming what’s his and keeping it safe.
Aria Ray shines in giving Slate its own identity within the Sons of Rage MC series. While it fits seamlessly into the larger world, this book feels personal, raw, and emotionally grounded. The found family element adds depth and warmth, reminding us that beneath the leather and violence is loyalty, brotherhood, and a place to belong.
Intense, explosive, and emotionally charged, Slate delivers second-chance romance, high-stakes danger, and a love that refuses to stay buried. If you love MC romances with heart, grit, and characters who fight just as hard for family as they do for love, this one is impossible to put down.

Aria Ray knows how to deliver the kind of MC romance that hits fast, burns hot, and still gives you real stakes. Slate (Book 2 in the Sons of Rage MC series) absolutely keeps that momentum going.
While you could read this as a standalone, I honestly recommend reading in order. The relationships, loyalties, and tension inside this club build book-to-book, and despite this being only the second book in the series, Slate hits harder when you already understand the history and dynamics behind the brotherhood.
This time around, Slate’s past doesn’t stay in the rearview mirror. It rolls back into his life in the form of Christina, a former lover who brings old emotions, unresolved business, and fresh complications. From there, the story turns into a true page-turner: the kind where you’re flying through chapters because you need to know what happens next.
Expect everything I come to Aria Ray for: club loyalty, betrayal that stings, love that refuses to quit, suspense and action that keep the pressure on, and romance that’s equal parts tender and spicy. And yes, there are a couple of moments where one particular female character had me thinking, “Ma’am… please. Don't do it!” But even that added to the drama and made the payoff more satisfying.
If you want MC brotherhood, high emotion, protective intensity, twists, heat, and ride-or-die vibes, Slate delivers.

Slate is an impressive and explosive second installment in the Sons of Rage MC series. Aria Ray once again proves how incredibly talented she is at creating intense characters, gripping storylines, and emotional depth that pulls you in from the very first page.
Slate and Christina share a past, and when their paths cross again, the attraction and past emotions between them resurface instantly. Their journey is anything but smooth — filled with danger, secrets, guilt, forgiveness, and hard choices. The plot is layered with mystery and tension, and I was completely hooked, eager to uncover the truth alongside them.
What I loved most is how different this book feels from the first one. Even though it’s part of the same series, Aria Ray gives each story its own identity, tone, and emotional core. That’s one of the reasons I love her writing so much — every book feels fresh and unpredictable.
The found family trope is also beautifully done here and adds real emotional weight to the story. It’s refreshing to see this aspect of MC life explored with such care, especially since it’s often overlooked in biker romances.
With intense characters, explosive action, and a fast-paced, engaging storyline, Slate is a wild, addictive ride and a fantastic continuation of the series. I’m absolutely loving the Sons of Rage MC, and I can’t wait to see what Aria Ray has in store next.
"Slate" is the second book in the Sons of Rage MC series. Slate hasn’t seen Christina in four years, but when he learns that she needs help, he and his MC brothers rush to rescue her and her sweet little girl just in time. While they work to uncover who has been stalking Christina and her daughter for the past three years, Slate decides to bring them back to the clubhouse for protection.
During their time together, Slate and Christina reconnect and realize that the feelings they once had for each other have never truly faded. However, Christina carries a secret she knows she must share with Slate, but she isn’t sure how he will react when he learns the truth.
I absolutely loved this new series! I couldn’t put down Slate and Christina’s second-chance love story—it was filled with drama, suspense, and action from the very beginning that pulled me in. The characters, along with the side characters, made it easy to immerse myself in the story, and I read it in one sitting. I particularly enjoyed the portrayal of the MC brotherhood and the family and found-family support; it was heartwarming to see them come together to help one another. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series!

Christina is on the run, but this is not your typical running-from-the-Ebil-ex MC Romance. No, she is running from sinister forces and they are getting closer and closer until her former flame, Slate, steps in. He thinks she’s running from the father of her child, but she is running TO the father of her child, because unbeknownst to him, Slate is her baby daddy. This caught my attention immediately, and kept it through the last page. I’m happy to say that the pacing was excellent and the book was never a torturous read. I liked Slate a lot and I think that the MC Ray built is warm, wonderful, and just the kind of people I’d like to vibe with. The world building here is excellent. The only thing that I would have liked would have been a little bit more weight given to Christina’s TBI. I think that it certainly affected her decision making and should have been given more than a mention. An enjoyable read from start to finish. Cat’s Stats Book is SAFE. Heat is EXPLICIT. TRIGGERS include violence, stalking, PTSD, language, and possible tooth rot because of how sweet the little girl is. TROPES include Adorable Moppet, Single Mom, Secret Baby, Second Chance, Investigative Journalist, MC Prince, And They Call It Puppy Love, Former Military.

When he gets the phone call that his ex flame was spotted on the run with a baby on her hip. He knows he has to go. She is the one that got away and the one he can’t stop thinking about. If she’s in danger, he’s going to protect her. She was a former reporter who met him in a war zone. He gave up his seat on the plane to save her once and when he rides to her rescue once again, it’s like fate. Only she has a secret she never told him about and it could change everything. She needs his protection but fear she’s going to have to break his heart again. These two have chemistry from the beginning, they were clearly always meant to be together. This is part of a series while each couple has their own standalone story. The other characters in the story do appear as the series unfolds. You don’t have to read them in order, but I would suggest you do as some of the backstory builds upon each story. I have enjoyed all of these characters and the club life. A hot biker who will do anything for his family and his woman, and a sassy fierce woman who will stand up to him and stand beside him. A lot of steam, some tenderness, some humor, and a happily ever after.

Slate is second book in series, great character and a plot that held me captivated throughout Slate is the Vice President “VP” of the Sons Of Rage MC and is the type of character that his brothers mostly respect. Slate has never forgotten Christina and when he discovers that she has been in danger, it hurts him that he had to discover this via a friend and directly from her. When Christina and her beautiful daughter come to the MC and they once again begin to build on their relationship it is obvious that they are still in love with each other and have never forgotten each other and I have to say I thought the secret she was hiding was not doing her any good at all. Christina has been struggling by herself and trying to keep her little girl safe for so long it is hard to keep them both safe and trusting Slate and him wanting to help her, I found this to be an enjoyable read and am sure that other readers will feel the same. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

This is the second in the Sons of Rage MC series, a spin off of the Savage Legion. Slate is the VP of the club, now that his brother has ascended to the Pres, since their father has stepped back. He still has memories of the one who got a way, a reporter he knew in Afghanistan, when he was in the military.
When he finds out she seems to be on the run and with a small child, he cannot stop from helping out. What he does not know is the child is his daughter but she does not dispel the idea of a stalking ex.
There is so much to this story, I do not want to spoil anything. There is a lot of drama, scorching heat and plenty of action. I loved Slate, he was not afraid to put his heart out there, Christina on the other had made several stupid missteps. Cannot wait for Onyx.

Overall I enjoyed this book, but just felt it was lacking something which keeps me from giving it 5*. I liked that the fmc wasn’t just running from an abusive ex (which happens so often in this sort of trope) she was an investigative journalist who was determined to expose injustices but then following an accident where she receives a traumatic brain injury and discovers she’s pregnant when she wakes from a coma, she goes on the run to keep her and her baby safe from whoever is actually after her.
It was an enjoyable read I just felt there were parts of the story that dragged and didn’t quite flow as well.

Slate, club VP, reconnects with Christina through Rivera. She is being stalked, with a child and Rivera recognised her. They all met in Afghanistan. Life has moved on, but being an inventive reporter means danger and threats followed her. Sons of Rage are ex military and family, so capable of dealing with the enemy. Things kept hidden come to light. Things hidden also bear secrets and not all good. Trust is broken and redemption hard earned. Decisions may be made with good intentions but always successful. Truth will come out and the fallout can be huge, depending on where you stand. A lot going on, emotional and physical.

I've enjoyed this series so far. It's action-packed from the beginning. The club and family are the most important to the Alpha males in the MC. When someone threatens their woman, they don't stand idly by and let them; they take the fight to them, and they make sure they come out the victors. But the course of true love never runs smoothly; they are set back along the way, truths that come out. Is their relationship strong enough to overcome these hurdles?
Love, family, and loyalty are the strengths behind this MC.

The history that Christina and Slate had is what made this one interesting. It also made it easy to understand why Slate would leave and jump to help her, despite not seeing her for 4 years. I knew the secret that Christina was keeping would come back to bite her, just didn't expect Slate to react the way he did, especially when she explained things. I mean a coma should get a person a free pass, especially one that goes on for months.
It was nice to see how things were resolved on both fronts. The threat against Christina taken care of in a spectacular way and Slate and her worked things out, leaving them to just live their lives happy.

Loved the story. Slate had thing for Christina when he was in Kabul and hasn't seen her for three years, when an old friend phones him. He is the VP of the MC, and he comes when he hears that she is in trouble with a child. Christina is saved just in time by Slate and his friends and he takes her to the compound to keep her safe. The book is full of drama, danger, assumptions that aren't corrected, trust issues even when emotions get mixed in and ends with a happy ending. I enjoyed reading this story.

Oh man, I am loving this series! Slate is the second book of the Sons of Rage saga and the stories just keep getting better. Aria Ray writes books that suck you in right from the first and this one is no exception. Exciting, wild, humorous, with just a touch of mystery and you’ve got the total package. I really am enjoying this series and can’t wait for the Onyx’s book, I have no doubt it’ll be brilliant!.

As VP of the Sons of Rage MC, Slate is a take charge character that doesn't hesitate to go all in when needed. He has never forgotten Christina and races to her rescue when an old friend tells him she is in danger. I liked the hierarchy within the MC and how Christina and her daughter fit. What I had a hard time with was the secrets she was keeping. She has trust issues, but they seemed out of place after all Slate had done for her both in the past and present. It is still an enjoyable read, but Christina's mistrust was a bit too much for me.
Aria has hooked me in again with wonderful characters, danger, sizzle and so much more. The second book of the Sons of Rage, hooked me in immediately. A phone call brings a second chance for Slate, the VP for the Sons of Rage MC. Christina is on the run trying to protect her child from evil. Old feelings that never went away bring the tension and tenderness. Can Slate and his brotherhood keep Christina safe? Great read. Excited to see where this series takes me next!.

Four years ago, back in Afghanistan, Christina was the one who got away. Now here we are I get a call from Rivera, old team mate to say he's seen Christina and she's on the run from an abusive ex. I'm Slate VP of the Sons of Rage MC and my mission is to find her and protect her. She's the one I've never forgotten and no one is going to hurt her when I'm around. Good story, mystery to be solved, action and a little helping of romance added in.

Book 2 of the Sons of Rage series. Can be read as a standalone. The protective biker the woman who got away and their child. Now she's in trouble and he's ready to protect them both.
The characters were well written and developed and complex and complicated and perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Having just finished Jasper, I wasn't sure what to expect with Slate (the second book in the series). I felt the characters were more realistic and believable, as was the storyline. It was a fast, easy read with sporadic spice. There were missed opportunities and, like with book 1), the inclusion of things that didn't make sense. I'm giving leeway that the next book will have the reason for the scenes with a side character that wasn't needed. Overall, I enjoyed this one more so I'm giving it 4 stars.
I am loving this series so far! Slate is the second book of the Sons of Rage saga, and the stories just keep getting better. Ok i dont like when the females have a kid know who the dad is and feel the need to not tell them but when it comes out they are so sorry. And put in the fact that you have a stalker and have allowed the situation to be around your kid and make it their norm as they grow just isn't right. Yet you managed to run off and find a set of balls in the end cos said partner was pissed at you. Was not happy with Rock or Queenie they were definitely very soft when I thought they were supposed to be hard character's.
From beginning to end Aria proves she is at the top of her game. This book was like watching a movie - non-stop entertainment. I just need to go get my popcorn and soda. Slate and Christina's story hits all the feels. Aria weaves a tale of intrigue and suspense, then knocks you side ways with each turn. Family, love and redemption bring it all together to create a great story. Do not miss out on this five star must read. Peace out.
Slate is book 2 of the Sons Of Rage MC. It's Slate, the VP of the Sons story. Slates past unintentionally comes back into his life and stirs things up. With her comes trouble and him and the club are just the ones to handle it. Slate and Christine's story is fast paced, intense and dramatic. It has lots of danger, twists, turns and surprises that keeps your interest from start to finish.
Slate ad Christina are great characters and I enjoyed the interaction between them. It takes a while for Christina to trust Slate but deep down she knows he's one of the best. IT was great seeing The Sons of Rage riding to the rescue.

One call changes everything for Slate, hearing the woman he never forgot about is on the run with a little girl, he goes full protection mode. Christina maybe on the run and now with a staker, theres only one man who turns up for her, but can she keep her secrets guarded? Well written engaging steamy desires drama second chances and more
Slate comes to the aide of the woman who got away when she returns with enemies on her heels not to mention a child that turns out to be Slate's. This action-packed story kept me glued to the pages and all caught up in the main characters.
