Emily has had a crush on Onyx for years, Onyx has always wanted more with Emily but neither took their shot. When Emily is held hostage in her home, Onyx rescues her but when the man is released and Emily is not protected Onyx pulls her close. As they grow closer their feelings for one another become harder to hide. Once they begin their relationship, they both know they will never let the other go. Problem is danger is still out there and keeping Emily safe is the focus but will the Sons of Rage MC be able to?

Probably my favorite so far in this series. I am most curious about Mica but Onyx is right up there on favorites. Entertaining series.

I liked this one, yet there seemed to be something about it that seemed lacking to me. Part of it might be how Emily kept saying how she grew up with the Rage boys, spent time over there, her grandpa was BFF's with the Pres, yet how was she so clueless about the MC and how things worked. You would think that she would have picked up things along the way and I know she mentioned how once she turned 14 her grandpa kept her away, but still. It seemed off to me.

I did like how both Emily and Onyx had crushes on each other and how given the opportunity both of them were happy to be stuck in the situation they were in and took advantage of it.

The whole bad guy things ended up being very underwhelming to me. I kinda didn't care by the time it all came out.

Onyx is another powerful, emotionally charged installment in the Sons of Rage MC series, and Aria Ray once again proves she knows exactly how to pull readers straight into the story from the very first page.

There’s no slow buildup here — you’re immediately immersed in the world, the danger, and the emotional tension. Onyx and Emily’s connection is rooted in years of shared history, unspoken feelings, and quiet protection. Childhood neighbors, silent longing, unacted emotions — all of it creates a deep emotional foundation that makes their story feel intense and meaningful before the romance even truly begins.

When Emily’s life is threatened, everything shifts. Onyx’s instinct to protect her feels raw, instinctive, and inevitable. Their journey from childhood bond to forced proximity, fake relationship, and finally confronting their real feelings is filled with tension, vulnerability, action, and angst. It’s emotional without being overwhelming, intense without losing balance — which is something Aria Ray does extremely well.

Emily was a character I genuinely enjoyed. Even though she grew up close to the MC world, she doesn’t fully understand all its implications — but she doesn’t judge it either. Instead, she adapts, learns, and finds her place beside Onyx and within the club in a very natural way. Her strength feels quiet but real, and her growth throughout the story is subtle and believable.

What I appreciate most in this series is the balance: romance, emotions, character development, action, tension, and plot are all woven together smoothly. Nothing feels overdone, nothing feels rushed. Aria Ray knows how to pace a story so that every element has its space to breathe while still keeping the tension high.

One of the biggest strengths of the Sons of Rage MC series is that even though all the stories take place within the same MC, each book feels emotionally different. Each couple has its own dynamic, its own tone, its own emotional identity. The relationships are all intense, but never repetitive — and that’s something I truly appreciate in MC romance series.

Onyx delivers emotion, protection, loyalty, found family, and intensity in a way that feels natural, engaging, and deeply immersive.
Another strong entry in the series, and a story that stays with you after the last page.

2.5* I did enjoy it but there’s a huge amount of missing information. There’s also a lot of mistakes.

I did enjoy it eventually, as I’m not a massive fan of two people being in love but never admitting it for years. If events hadn’t pushed them together they would still be apart. Onyx is Jasper and Slates brother, okay but how old is he? What did he do in the army? Emily is even worse. No idea what she looks like, apart from one really vague description that she looks exactly like her GRANDFATHER. So now I’m envisioning an elderly man’s face. 😂😂😂 How old is Emily? It briefly mentions her having two friends at the beginning but then they’re never mentioned again. There’s no details about them either so no idea how she met them, or who they are.

Emily’s grandfather was best friends with Rock, father of Onyx, Jasper, Slate and Mica. Emily lived with her grandfather her whole life, so spent a lot of time at the Mc. Why did that all stop? Why when she she was so close to Queenie growing up, do they act like strangers now? Where are her parents?? Emily and Onyx have had feelings for each for years but never do anything about it. Yawn. When a stranger takes Emily hostage in her house it pushes them together, finally. At the beginning it’s only a ‘fake’ relationship so he can protect her. Why is it only fake? Why can’t he just tell her how he feels? Emily and Onyx are sleeping in his apartment, in HIS BED and nothing happens between them. 🙄🙄😂😂 Yeah right. The man who took Emily hostage is suspected in the disappearance of his girlfriend. That whole plot could have been really exciting but was boring. Sadly.

Emily at the beginning is a hermit who works from home, sees no one but her cat, and Onyx occasionally, moves into the clubhouse and is suddenly okay with all those people. 🤔 Rock was best friends with her grandfather and was with him a lot. Was her grandfather in the Mc? What did her grandfather do? What happened to her grandmother? If Rock was so close to her grandfather, why does he never go round to Emily’s? Check if she’s okay? It’s bizarre.

Too many details are missing sadly. It could have been really good, but isn’t. I did still enjoy it though and will read the next one.

Onyx and Emily’s story is rooted in history — childhood neighbors, unspoken feelings, and a lifetime of silent protection. He’s always been watching out for her, always keeping her safe from the shadows, believing distance was the only way to protect her from his world. Until it isn’t. When Emily’s safety is threatened and the system fails her, Onyx steps in without hesitation — and once he does, there’s no turning back.

What really makes this book shine is the emotional foundation. Their relationship doesn’t feel rushed or forced; it feels inevitable. Years of restraint, longing, and loyalty explode into something intense and consuming once Emily is under Onyx’s protection. The forced proximity, the MC family dynamic, and the slow unraveling of their real feelings create a romance that’s protective, passionate, and deeply satisfying.

Emily is a standout heroine. She’s gentle but strong, adaptable without losing herself, and never judgmental of Onyx’s world — even when she doesn’t fully understand it. Watching her find her place within the Sons of Rage MC, surrounded by people who would lay down their lives for her, adds a warm found-family layer that balances the danger and tension beautifully.

Aria Ray excels at pacing here. The story moves steadily, blending romance, action, emotional growth, and suspense without overwhelming the reader. It’s intense without being gritty, emotional without being exhausting — and the twists keep you invested all the way through.

Onyx delivers protection, loyalty, obsession, and love in a way that feels raw and real. If you love MC romances with childhood connections, fierce devotion, and a family that closes ranks when one of their own is threatened, this one is absolutely worth the ride.

Onyx is the third book in the Sons of Rage MC series, and as someone who genuinely loves this world and this author’s style, this installment felt like coming home. Yes, it can be read as a standalone, but reading the earlier books adds so much richness, those layers of club history, the brotherhood dynamics, and the quiet moments you realize were building toward this story all along.

At the heart of Onyx is something I’ll never get tired of in MC romance: that delicious, long-simmering, “it’s always been you” kind of love. Onyx and Emily have history, loyalty, and a friendship that’s been holding steady while feelings grew louder in the background. Watching them finally stop dancing around what’s been true for a long time is deeply satisfying, especially in a series where love has to fight its way through danger, duty, and the weight of the patch.

The book delivers what fans come for: MC drama, a thread of suspense, unshakable loyalty, and that powerful found-family energy that makes the club feel like more than a setting. It’s a living, breathing force. And the romance itself is both passionate and sweet, the kind that hits harder because it’s earned.

If I had one small wish, it’s that a bit more time had been spent smoothing out the emotional transition once Onyx and Emily finally cross the line into “more.” Because they’ve cared about each other for so long, a couple of the insecurity beats didn’t fully land for me. That said, it’s a minor hiccup in an otherwise strong, feel-good ride.

Bottom line: Onyx is another win for the Sons of Rage, and it left me happy, entertained, and even more invested in what’s coming next. I’m absolutely ready for Mica.

Emily lives by herself in the cabin her grandfather built since he passed away. She has so many good memories of her time here, especially when she was younger and ran around with the brothers from the MC compound, which is close by. Of the four brothers, she was closest to Onyx, and as she got older, her feelings went from friendship to attraction, but then she went away to college.

Onyx has always had a soft spot for Emily and, even if she doesn't know it, has always looked out for her, doing little jobs here and there to make things easier.

When Emily finds herself in trouble, Onyx won't stand by; he'll make sure she is okay, and the only way is to have her under his protection. From there, the attraction pulls them toward one another. Onyx knows that Emily is his, but will she stay once it's safe to leave?

Emily loves being around the family, and as usual, they have accepted her with open arms, making her feel like she belongs, like they did when she was a child. The full club takes her under their wing; they will all protect her with their lives. They will hunt down Brennan to make sure he pays for his actions. But when the accused comes from money, does their money do the talking instead of justice?.

**Childhood Friends!**

"Onyx" is the third book in the “Sons of Rage MC” series, and I can’t wait to share why it's such a delightful read! Emily, the girl next door, grew up surrounded by the Sons of Rage MC, and she and Onyx were childhood best friends. As many friends do, they drifted apart as they got older, but the memories of their friendship never really faded. In fact, Onyx has been quietly watching over Emily from the shadows for years!

When danger unexpectedly knocks on Emily’s door, it’s Onyx and his MC brothers who rush in to save the day. Realizing that the system can’t keep her safe, Onyx brings her to their clubhouse, where he can protect her while he and his brothers deal with the threat for good—no holds barred.

The slow-burning romance between Onyx and Emily is just beautiful, filled with such great chemistry and just the right touch of intensity and passion as they finally open up about their feelings for each other. I’m really enjoying this series! Ray has done an amazing job creating a vibrant world full of strong characters and true brotherhood. This MC is always there for one another, ready to show fierce loyalty and protect anyone they love when they’re in danger. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series!

Emily and Onyx have known each other since children. Now grown he is a MC member, living in the club building, practically next door. She lives alone in a cabin close by like a hermit., in the middle of nowehere.hey each have a crush on the other and an unfortunate incident brings it to the fore, when the start a fake relationship.
Emily lets a dangerous man into her home, by opening her door to stranger, who turns up at her door asking to be let in after being chased by a bear, which she knows that is not possible. An encounter in the clubhouse with a club girl is weak and fades into nothing. The club and police are searching for Brennan, running around in circles chasing the wrong killer, but still a bad guy. The characters are well matched, ying and yang, but the MC extended family willingly accept the relationship which develops immediately with the purchase of her cut.
It seems off in places and does not gel well, as if the author got distracted. The bones of the storyline is good but stumbles around, as it seems rushed to get from one thing to another.

Love always

Onyx is the third book in the Sons of Rage MC series. I will say that it is better if you read the books in order as there is character and story-line crossovers. But you can also get into the story of Emily and Onyx on it's own. These two were always meant to be together, even as their worlds diverged. They grew up living next door to each other, her in her grandfather's cabin and him in the MC compound. They had always been friends and he had always protected her from anyone who wanted to hurt her in any way. Now his is the Secretary of the SoRMC and she is back living in the cabin by herself. Even now Onyx is looking out for Emily and making sure she is safe and protected, but from a distance. That all changes when a a man breaks into the cabin and Onyx has to rescue her. When the law does not deal with the dangerous situation it is up to Onyx to keep Emily safe and alive. This means moving her into the compound and into his life. What Onyx never realized but will soon is just how Emily has felt about him all these years as he has loved her.

The FMC Emily had great growth during this book but she did start the book as a bit nieve and she was hiding from her feelings and hiding from people. Though the book never really explained why. There were times in this book I was missing more of her back story and there were times that statements did not need to stated. She was a sweet girl but she kept jumping back and forth between a strong women and someone who was a mousey book worm

Onyx the MMC was great and he knew what he wanted but he kept his distance. He started out as someone taking care of Emily but then he would throw almost a tantrum if she did not contact him back. He was a fun read because of his growth and how he took care of his women but he kept calling her his old lady more then was necessary.

I enjoyed this book and it was a fun read but there were times that I did not enjoy the repeated statements in the book.

Onyx grew up in the Sons of Rage MC, son of Rock and Queenie. He has been love with the girl next door since she came home from college, they had been friends their whole lives. When he goes to visit her one day and she is acting weird, he knows she is in trouble. There is a man who is a fugitive holding her cat hostage. He rescues her and the police take him away, where he is put under house arrest.

When the man is released from house arrest, Onyx convinces her to stay at the clubhouse so he can protect her. She has been in love with Onyx, so it is no hardship to go with him. He tells her that she needs to wear his cut, pretending to be his for protection. He has no intention of letting her go when the man is caught.

This is a slow burn, high action MC romance. All of Rock and Queenie’s boys are enough to make a woman swoon.

Onyx and Emily have a long history back to when they were kids. When her life is threatened everything begins to change between them. This 3rd book in the series is such a great addition. Their story is emotionally charged from lingering feelings between the two that have never gone away to a new dynamic that is not rushed. This book is a friends to lovers, close proximity romance that offers so much more. Aria Ray brings a great balance to all the many facets in this book. The characters are well written and easy to connect with. The book grabs you at page one has a steady flow from danger, suspense, MC life and realizing their feelings. This has been such a well written series and this book just adds to it. I really loved this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series.

Onyx and Emily were friends growing up, but then they grew a little more distant when he went into the military and she went to college. But when Emily is held captive in her own home by a fugitive, Onyx is there for her.
My favorite trope is friends to lovers, and it’s especially good when it’s childhood friends to lovers. Onyx and Emily have a believable bond that develops into more very organically. Plus there’s a cat, who was held hostage, but the cat lives so all is right with the world.
Book is SAFE.
Heat is EXPLICIT.
TRIGGERS include violence, kidnapping, animal endangerment.
TROPES include Friends to Lovers, Childhood Friends, A Bad Day for the Cat, A Good Day for the Cat, Found Family, Corrupt Justice, Fake Relationship, Surprise Pregnancy.

Onyx and Emily knew each for years. When younger Emily used to stay with her grandfather and play with Onyx and his brothers, who lived near by in the MC compound. Years pass Emily went to college but since her grandfather died she now lives in his cabin.
Onyx has always liked Emily and since she has moved back he can’t help but help her. When trouble comes knocking Onyx needs her near and is under his protection.
Oh trust me there is drama, strong male and female characters. Loved Onyx’s protective streak. Emily is independent. Oh the chemistry is strong, loved the MC family. The twist at the end is brilliant.

Onyx, Secretary of the Sons of Rage MC has been secretly looking out for Emily, his next-door neighbour ever since her grandfather died.

Emily lives a very quiet life with just her cat Frisky for company.

That changes one night when her safe world is upended by Charles Brennan forcing his way into her home.

Onyx and his brothers are there for her and after the rescue Onyx steps up and decides that Emily should live with him until things are safe again.

However the danger is still out there and Onyx won't rest until the threat against his Emily is gone.

Good story, good characters and well worth a read.

This is the third book in this impressive series, and this is Onyx and Emily’s story.
Onyx has always been protective of Emily, the girl next door. Emily chose a quiet life and heads off to college, while Onyx joins the Son of Rage MC. When Onyx catches a dangerous man in Emily’s home, he moves her to the club for protection.
This is a well written action packed, easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, danger, suspense, intrigue, drama, tension, friends / lovers, redemption, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining addictive page turner.

Friends to Lovers MC

Onyx and his family have claim to land and for years it’s where the Sons of Rage MC resided…except for one little parcel that Emily’s grandfather lived on. Emily grew up with Onyx and his brothers but now she’s back after going away to school. It took one crazy guy who broke into her cabin that was the start of Onyx and Emily. He was going to protect her no matter what.

It was great watching their friendship turn into something so much more. The suspense in this book was edge of your seat good as well. I highly recommend this book by Aria Ray.

Oh wow! I’m really loving this series. Who knew when we met Rock and Queenie, in the Savage Legion’s series, we’d get such great stories out of their family. In typical Aria Ray fashion, this story hits the ground running and doesn’t let up until “The End”. Great characters, Onyx and his Emily, are so sweet. We also get to hang with Rock and Queenie, Jasper and Tessa and Slate and Christina. Oh, and catch a glimpse of books to come…I’m waiting patiently…not…for Mica! Great story, Ms. Ray, I expected nothing less from you. Thanks for sharing your incredible imagination with us.

Onyx and Emily

Loved all 3 books so far and can’t wait till Mica’s book comes out. The Sons of Rage MC is a tamer MC than is usually written about. Onyx saves a childhood friend from an intruder and it begins their road to love and family. There’s plenty of mystery and angst but Onyx and Emily stay true to each other. Plenty of spice but not too much. Mild violence. An HEA. Just wish I didn’t have to wait so long for last book. Hoping Aria Ray takes pity on us and keeps writing more stories about the Sons of Rage MC

Onyx is sweet and holy hell does he fight for Emily.
The poor girl ends up in a situation that is just crazy and the hunt is on for the guy once he seems to get bail. Definitely didn't see the twists that had you second guessing is he really guilty or just scared and trying to protect himself at any cost.
Emily really comes out of her shell and realises she has to fight to get answers and stay alive she cant go back to being a hermit in her little cottage if she wants to be with Onyx.
Great Read and can't wait for the next.

Having always lived next door to the Sons of Rage, Emily has always known the family, but not the inner workings of the MC. When her life is threatened by a deranged man, she is taken in and protected by the family and especially Onyx. Meanwhile the search is on for her attacker and the romance builds. The story continues at a steady pace, until the unexpected twist you don't see coming. Not a gritty as some MC romances, but more family oriented and an enjoyable read.

Onyx and Emily’s story has them childhood neighbors/friends, then as they get older they have unacted feeling and non-spoken feeling for the other. But it all come out when she’s threatened. He is there protective and strong and she stands beside him and adapts to the MC life with him. Another good danger filled, action packed, smoldering chemistry induced story by Aria.

Shines Bright in Darkness

Aria Ray brilliantly sets the stage for suspense and danger right from the start. While Onyx an Emily's childhood connection burns bright, embers of their hidden emotions begin to spark to life. It was this combination that made for a well balanced plot with characters that shined. I could not put it down.

Okay this is my first time reading Aria Ray’s book and tbh I’m surprised with this book. Like how she wrote about Onyx and Emily. Their story and everything they went through. How they love each other and be there for. I really enjoyed this book. I finished this book in a go without putting it down.
