Vale
Forgive my trespasses, for I’m but a lowly mortal, a weak prey amongst gods who would seek the destruction of my soul by tainting it with their filth. Salvation isn’t what I seek in Oliver’s arms; it’s his darkness that calls to me, whipping my body into a frenzy. He exists to steal my heart, my soul. Oh, how I offer it so willingly, even when I know better.
I know he will destroy me, but unlike that unsuspecting moth, drawn into the light of a bright flame, I’m eager for my own demise. I yearn for his destruction. I want it, to be part of it, a part of him. Suddenly, Hell looks like an inviting, new neighbor.
Do I want to be a good girl, the one I’ve been conditioned to be, or do I want to writhe in the waves of his shadows for all eternity? Is my soul as filthy as his deeds?

Oliver
Vale radiates an unparalleled beauty that surpasses anything I’ve witnessed. I yearn for a mere taste of her innocence, for it's all I’m permitted—a single sip at the fountain of her joyous surrender. Yet I’m inexplicably drawn to her radiant fire, like a starving man, unable to satisfy my cravings. If I indulge in her offerings, I fear a single taste won’t be enough, and she’ll wither in my arms until her light fades away.
I long for her even though I know it’s wrong. I know she can never be mine, yet the darkness inside my soul whispers to me, begging to be one with her, to take her, to make her entirely, irrevocably mine. My obsession, my longing for her will end me. I know it will.
Will Vale be my greatest sin or my ultimate salvation?

This is a really well done angels/ demons vampires romance. The lore is so expertly added through out and the pacing and story grab you right in from start to finish. You can feel how stifled Vale’s childhood and life is and it’s so absolutely enjoyable to watch her unravel it and become her own person while also finding the person she is meant to be with. Oliver is enticing and I really enjoyed being able to see the story unfold from both points of view. And the smut is smutting 🔥 thanks so much to the author for an advanced copy 💜

It was giving (non why choose) Touched by Sin by Harleigh Beck. And well, I fucking loved that book so this was right up my street 😂🤌🏼

Very VERY spicy. I swear the scene when they first (and FINALLY) did ‘it’ must have been like 70 pages long 🤣

Don’t even get me started on when his thousands year old grandad came alive in a picture in his room when she was standing there naked AND STARTED FEELING HER UP. Sir what. Ate that shit up I did 😂🤝🏼

The sexual tension between them was off the charts and some of the foreplay scenes in the first half had me GASPING FOR AIR. Oh my god the scene in the car on the backseat? I simply cannot 🫠

First half is pretty much all romantic/lusty/spicy development, second half the plot starts to trickle in but this is a series and judging by how this ended, the plot will indeed be plotting in book 2 🤞🏼

Probs could have been like 100 pages less but I fucking enjoyed it nonetheless ❤️‍🔥 Book 2 is due out this year and you better believe I’ll be reading it.

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of Prince of Lust by@Dame_Rho and what a ride this debut turned out to be! It’s bold, beautifully descriptive, and filled with passion, lore, and heart. Thank you, Rho, for trusting me with your story. I loved being part of this world. 💜

PRINCE OF LUST by Dame Rho

Not for the faint of heart, this debut is a spicy, slow burn descent into desire and darkness.
Vampires, lilu, demons, and the pull between love and obsession… it’s a world that hums with heat and ache.
From the beginning, Oliver and Vale’s connection burns, fierce, vulnerable, and consuming. They are drawn together by pain, trust, and the surrender that comes with true intimacy.
I laughed. I cried. I even got a little frustrated (Vale’s drama, Oliver’s control but oh, that’s what made them real). The lore and worldbuilding are beautifully imagined, a rich undercurrent of myth and magic that deepens every page. And Grandpa Nick, what a gem. A quiet, grounding presence, the calm in Vale’s storm, her safe place amid the chaos. By the final quarter, I was completely pulled under. Descriptive. Bold. Emotional.
A story that’s spicy hot but filled with heart. I highly recommend, Available for preorder on Amazon.

Thank you @dame_rho for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

ARC review

This is a debut novel that burns with the certainty of fate - a story not driven by plot, but by the gravitational pull between two souls destined to collide. It’s an ode to soulmates, to the wild beauty of sexual desire, and to the kind of love that both redeems and ruins.

This isn’t a book you simply read; it’s one you feel humming under your skin. Dame Rho writes with the raw intensity of someone unafraid to let her characters ache, bruise, and burn for one another. The mythology of gods and demons forms a rich and intricate backdrop, yet the true power of the story lies in the intimacy between Vale and Oliver.

Vale is fierce, luminous, and often fragile - a young woman coming into her own power, still trembling at the edges of innocence. She falters, yes, but her vulnerability only sharpens her strength. Oliver, on the other hand, is obsessive, protective, and devastatingly devoted - the kind of man who loves as if it’s a sacred act of worship. His every word, every touch, reads like a vow carved into flesh.

Their love is the heartbeat of this novel. It’s love-driven, not plot-driven, and it thrives on
sensuality as a form of storytelling. The spice isn’t gratuitous - it’s the language of recognition between two halves of the same soul, the fire through which they both destroy and save each other.

At its core, Prince of Lust is about possession, surrender, and the cosmic weight of connection - the eternal push and pull between heaven and hell, body and spirit, love and ruin. And for a debut, it’s remarkably assured. Dame Rho writes with the confidence of someone who knows that sometimes, the truest stories are born not from perfection, but from need.

It’s not flawless - the pacing sways, and Vale’s youth occasionally blurs her strength - but it’s undeniably alive. The writing glows with sensual reverence, with passages that linger like a handprint on skin.

A haunting, passionate debut that reminds us: monsters aren’t scary - love is.

The FMC is 18. 🤢 *beleaguered sigh*

The world building was great, to be fair, and the writing wasn't bad. The author can certainly write yearning and sexual tension well.

One of the problems I had with this book was that it felt shallow. The connection between the MCs was glued together with lust and physical attraction. The FMC spent about 30 pages in the beginning waxing philosophical on how hot the MMC was. It didn't end there either, it continued ad infinitum. I get it, we get it. I wish there was more time spent actually making their connection be meaningful and soul deep (in addition to physical). The FMC didn't even know anything about the MMC. They spent plenty of time together and all they did was give each other orgasms.

Also, nothing at all happened in the book. They f*cked, that's about it. A lot of it was hot, she writes spice well. But, what else? There was a rich world the writer built with the FMC's burgeoning powers, the MMC and his inner demon, Asmodeus, Lilith, the MMC's mother and father and none of it was explored beyond explaining that these people exist in the book's world.

ARC Review - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m obsessed with this book — the tension, the danger, the chemistry… it’s everything.
Our FMC is trapped in a life that’s slowly suffocating her — until he moves in. The MMC is devastatingly beautiful, mysterious, and absolutely off-limits. Every glance, every touch, every secret between them had me holding my breath.
But this book is more than just spice (though, trust me, it delivers 😮‍💨). The story is compelling, layered, and full of emotion. There’s more at stake than either of them realizes — pain, secrets, and the risk of losing themselves in something that feels too big to survive.
It’s about finding love even when there’s darkness inside you, and realizing that sometimes, the most dangerous person in your world is also the one who sees you most clearly.
I devoured this in one sitting — passionate, haunting, and unforgettable. This story owns me. 💋

This book had me turning pages from the very beginning. The fated love story is at the heart of the novel, and what a love story it is! It's a slow burn, the gravitational pull was intense. I couldn't wait for them to be together. I really loved Vale's character arc, and how she found her inner fire. I loved to watch as she broke free from her limiting thoughts with the help of her Gramps and Oliver. It's going to be amazing to watch her become the woman she is meant to be as the series continues. I loved the love story, the characters and if you like spice...you will love those spicy scenes!! Highly recommend.

Prince of Lust absolutely delivered and then some. This book is very, very spicy, and I enjoyed every delicious, blush-inducing second of it. It’s unapologetically hot, but never shallow, which is a tricky balance and one Dame Rho pulls off with flair.

I adored Oliver, the embodiment of lust himself. Gorgeous? Yes. A genuinely kind, emotionally decent man? Also yes. Incredible in bed, extremely well endowed, wildly skilled, and blessed with magically enhanced bodily fluids that can both heal and pleasure a partner? Oh, absolutely yes. What really got me, though, is that Oliver always believed he’d never fall in love—until he meets Vale. Watching it slowly dawn on him that she’s his fated mate and that Vale truly loves him for him is immensely satisfying.

Vale’s story adds real emotional weight. She comes from a deeply troubled family life, having spent most of her childhood being physically assaulted by her father, who convinced her she was possessed by a demon and that lust was something evil. Because of that, falling for Oliver—the first man she’s ever truly had feelings for—is overwhelming and terrifying for her. Through their developing relationship, Vale begins to uncover her own inner strength and supernatural power, which makes her arc both empowering and cathartic.

We’re also introduced to Asmodeus, Oliver’s grandfather and the original embodiment of lust. It’s immediately clear that his role is going to become far more prominent as the series progresses and I am very intrigued. There’s a strong sense that something big is brewing among the immortals, which makes me suspect future books will feel quite different in scope and intensity.

In short: I loved this book, devoured it shamelessly, and cannot wait to read the next installment in the series.

If you like your romantasy spicy, myth-heavy, and emotionally satisfying, Prince of Lust should be at the top of your list. 🔥📖

The smut was excellent, absolutely top tier. Really great work, would’ve never guessed this was a debut author.

The dialogue just seemed repetitive at times, particularly at the end. Otherwise, I would highly recommend!

This Is An ARC Review

I need to start this by saying:
I’m a sapphic romance reader.
Like, exclusively when it comes to romance.
My TBR? Sapphic.
My heart? Also sapphic.

So.....The Prince of Lust was wildly out of character for me. Dark M/F romantasy is not usually my lane… but this book kept popping up on Instagram and then I connected with the author and I thought, “Fine, one chapter.”

And then suddenly it was 3 a.m. and I’d inhaled half the book!! Who am I?? But...

Vale was the first thing that hooked me. She has this quiet, wounded intensity that felt real. I connected with her more than I expected to, especially the way she questions her own desires and strength. Something about her softness becoming bravery hit me harder than I anticipated.

And Oliver, well.
Let’s just say I now understand why people have entire dissertations about morally gray men. He’s intense in a way that somehow manages to be both dark and deeply vulnerable. I didn’t think I’d care about a male love interest—at all—but here I am, mildly attached and slightly annoyed by it.

The connection between them?
Listen…the emotional gravity in this book surprised me. It’s slower, heavier, more mythic than the romances I usually reach for. The way their bond is written has this almost fated, magnetic ache that got under my skin more than I expected.

The worldbuilding?
Angels, demons, vampires, shadows—yet it never felt confusing or too much. Just immersive and atmospheric in a way that pulled me in despite myself.

My final thoughts,

Prince of Lust surprised me in the best way, Dame Rho hooked me fast. The world-building is rich without ever dragging, the chemistry is hot enough to fog up the pages, and the emotional undercurrent hits harder than expected. It’s sexy, sharp, a little wicked, and absolutely addictive. A strong debut that made me an instant fan!

My favorite prince

Prince of Lust took me by surprise in all the best ways. From the first chapter, it’s clear this is going to hit you with more than just spice, it’s layered, emotional, and humming with a slow-burn tension that never lets up.

We follow Vale, a girl raised under the weight of religious fear and control, who’s only just beginning to reclaim her voice. Her summers in Georgia are her escape, but this year everything shifts the moment Oliver moves in next door. And calling him temptation would be an understatement, he is lust, devotion, and danger wrapped into one devastatingly beautiful monster.

What absolutely sold me on this story is their chemistry. It’s magnetic, messy, tender, and explosive all at once. Oliver is a perfect mix of soft obsession and sinful charm, while Vale blooms from fragile to fierce right before our eyes. Their connection feels fated like two souls colliding long before either of them is ready for what it means.

Beyond the romance, Dame Rho builds a world thick with myth, demons, lore, and shadows, but never loses the intimacy of the story. The writing is bold and sensory, the kind that lingers like a handprint on your skin. It’s emotional, deeply vulnerable at times, and unapologetically sensual. The final stretch? I was fully submerged.

A stunning story with heart, heat, and beautifully raw character work. I’m already counting down to whatever comes next.

I can say I was so surprised by this book. It got me in a chokehold from the beginning. I really like that the book was set in modern times with its fantasy/romantasy/paranormal twist. It made it look more realistic in my opinion.

I don’t usually read books where the characters are young but this one was the exception. I like how the FMC, Vale, was introduced and how we got to see glimpses of her childhood. It was easy to understand her feelings and her journey. She’s a 18 years old human and of course she’s attracted to her new neighbor, the MMC, Oliver who’s a mysterious vampire.

I like how they tried fighting their attraction to each other but you can’t fight fate and what’s meant to be. The author knows her characters so well and it’s so easy to love them but this dual POV.

I like the characters developments and the smut was really smutting.

I really have to stop there because I will spoil the book for you but how it ends… can’t wait for the next one!

So if you like vampires, incubus, well developed characters, good romance story, I highly recommend this debut novel from this amazing author. You will not regret it!

I’ve been feeling the pull to step outside my usual gothic/horror terrain and intentionally explore themes of female sexual agency and bodily autonomy, subjects still treated as hush-hush in contemporary culture. So when I received an advance reader copy of The Prince of Lust by Dame Rho, it felt like the perfect place to start.

What I found is a darkly sensual, supernatural story that straddles (👀🫣) the line between paranormal romance and rich, character driven fantasy.

Rho’s writing is lush and confident. The heat rises steadily, as each erotic episode is layered, inventive, and distinct creating a kind of “spice curve” that keeps the tension sharp and the pages turning. The incubus/vampire male love interest and the heroine’s unfolding selfhood make for a compelling fusion of fantasy, desire, and “coming into one’s own”.

Prince of Lust releases on December 9th. It’s a good fit for anyone drawn to the dangerous allure of demonic, high heat forbidden romance. I give it 4 out of 5 stars (and 5 out of 5 🌶️s) and my enthusiastic recommendation.

I loved it!!! Proud to say it’s the first ARC I’ve ever read. I loved the push and pull and the devastating explosion when they finally came together. He’s supposed to be “awful ” but HE is the one who refuses to touch her or let himself feel for her because he thinks he’s protecting her and thinks he doesn’t deserve love or anything good. She shows him that she isn’t afraid of him and that’s she loves both sides of him and she wants ALL of him. All around a 5 star read.

Thank you to the author herself for providing me with a ARC copy.

Prince of Lust had me captivated by chapter one. I was giggling and kicking my feet from their banter to fully enjoying their hot and heavy moments… I must warn you it is spicy spicy, you’ll need to take a cold shower after reading these scenes.

So if you enjoy paranormal romance, vampires, angels/demons then this is an immediate must read for you.

Slow start. Struggled to be hooked for the first few chapters.

There was no build up to the attraction, she was annoyingly head over heels before she even saw his face. Spent several chapters repeating how much she wanted him but hated him (for no good reason) over and over again. MFC began to grate on me quite quickly.

Liked MFC from 20% of the way through till about 60%. I just can’t get my head around how she is sheltered, abused and indoctrinated with certain beliefs yet is unfathomably beggy. Feels like she lacks integrity.

80% of the book is Oliver and Vale just saying how much they love, crave and desire each other. I love, love but this was… a lot. Repetitive and tiresome in places. No action.

Ending is quite strange, too. Didn’t realise it was ending. Final chapter is between 2 characters, 1 of which we have never met before.

3/5 smut. 2/5 storyline. 2/5 character development.

3.75 ✨ This is one of the stories that forces you to LET GO. Allowing yourself the opportunity to ride the words and the feelings as a passenger. This is a story of self discovery as our heroine Vale sheds the oppressive weight of her religious upbringing, while embracing her true nature. Her first sparks of desires are whipped into an inferno by our MMC Oliver, lust incarnate. But don’t pity Vale her darkness was never meant for the mortal world. The journey these two take to claim one another is consuming. This is a HIGH heat, character driven, paranormal romance the will have you swooning and sweating.

I was lucky enough to read an early copy of Prince of Lust, and with a little tweaking and final editing think this will easily be a 5 star on many reader’s list.

This story follows the story of a young woman, Vale, who has spent her childhood sheltered and abused by her cult leading, religious parents. Her only reprieve is her summer’s spent in Georgia with her grandfather. The summer before she turns 19, she knows will be different. She’s an adult now. Vale just wasn’t expecting just how quickly and thoroughly she’d shed her innocence this summer.

Oliver is lust and temptation personified. Literally. And he’s just moved in next door.

Admittedly, I went into this expecting spice - I mean, the title kind of hints there may be a little. I was not expecting how absolutely adorable our little (not at all) Prince of Lust, Oliver is. This man/monster, take your pick (I’ll have both, please) was equally heart-melting and panty dropping. The dynamic and banter between him and Vale is top notch.

Vale is such a strong FMC already. We’ve been given tidbits of her past and how she’s had to learn to protect herself from the people who are suppose to love her. Despite being made small, she burns and refuses to be snuffed out. She knows when to fight, and does. I’m not even sure she recognizes herself by the last pages.

The writing is raw and beautiful - much like the book’s characters. If you’re looking for a plot and some love along with your smut, this is a book you want to read. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for our sweet duo.

Favourite quotes:

“That’s exactly what it is, he’s breathing me in, taking part of my soul with him, into him, stealing it away.”

“Monsters aren’t scary, love is.”

“Hold on to me. Squeeze me to your body and don’t let me go. Don’t ever let me go.”

“I think we’re about to do something that’ll either change the entire world or completely change us.”

Well, well… what a hot debut 🥵
I found this book accidentally (or maybe not) and was completely fooled by the innocent cover... But if you look at the title again… it tells you exactly what to expect ❤️‍🔥

This is a book for those moments when you need someone to simply be there, to see through you, to hold you together and not let you fall (except for falling in love… that’s unavoidable)...

I was actually surprised by how good of a mix it is. It’s dark and deep, yet balanced with humor, teasing and something very human and real. Intense. Emotionally rich. Sensual. Intimate. It’s heavy, but at the same time playful and very hungry.

I enjoyed the writing and the pacing, the worldbuilding is easy to get lost in (in all the best ways). But what I loved most were the characters and the slowly unfolding history of their pasts, this world, and its magic. The story breathes.

The MMC… Oliver... With his big, beautiful… ego and everything else… (it’s getting quite tight on my book boyfriend list, but for a man like him, there will always be space) 🔥🥵
And the FMC, Vale. A young woman swept away by the mere sight of Oliver. With him, everything is new for her, becoming a quiet exploration and a discovery of her own.

What a bond between them! The push and pull, the tension, the vulnerability. This is one of those examples of what looks like love at first sight, the kind that changes not only the future but the whole world. Like two trembling magnets that either go mad staying apart or finally collide and shake everything around them ☄️

This book is truly spicy, from subtle moments to very big ones... 🌶🤭

By the final pages, I had the feeling that this was only the beginning, an introduction to a world just starting to unfold. And the mystery still lingers, making the wait for the next book… hard... 😭

Where to start with a review of this spellbinding book by the very lovely and talented Dame Rho!
The heart of this tale is Oliver and Vale’s love story. He’s a 2000 year old incubus/vampire hybrid (excuse me soooo hot!) and she’s the innocent girl next door, (though maybe not as innocent as she seems!)
They are drawn to each other through an unstoppable mutual red hot desire, but how could things possibly work out between them?
Despite their differences, they both are tortured souls in their own way, and share troubled pasts. It is very satisfying to see them both find redemption in each other and through their fated, mystical love. The book fluctuates between tender romance and searing hot spice, keeping you on your toes and urging you to turn another page.
Rho’s writing is spot on and really immerses you in the characters emotions - obsession, lust, love, fear, doubt, hunger, pain, joy, everything is dialled up to 11 through the eyes of these characters in a way that will take your breath away.
On top of that, the humour scattered throughout is thoroughly enjoyable and keeps things fresh and not too heavy.
Don’t miss out on this epic spicy paranormal romance that will have you staying up past your bed time to find out what Oliver is packing in those joggers!

Vale undergoes an awakening of the highest order and thank the heavens that Oliver/Ashmodai was there with her through it all. This is one of the best cosmic foreplay books I’ve ever read. We should all be so blessed to get to experience this in our lifetimes. Alas, this book will have to sustain me until I reach the other side. Seriously satisfying. Cannot wait until book 2 comes out later this year, because if this epilogue is any indication of what’s coming, hold onto your britches!!!! Whew 😅

Prince of Lust is such an unexpected book. Yes, it’s spicy. Very spicy. Yes, it’s got the usual paranormal elements (vampire/lilu/demon). Yes, there’s romance. But there’s also so much more.

To begin with, there’s Vale the FMC. Sweet, innocent, and never really interested in boys, unlike her best friend Kat. Raised by a religious zealot for a father and a mother who just goes along with it, to say her upbringing was horrible is an understatement. Her only respite comes from her summer visits to her grandfather’s house. And this is where our story begins and Vale’s transformation takes place.

Enter Oliver, our MMC. Smoking hot, worldly, seductive. He’s every girl’s wet dream come to life. But Oliver isn’t just a hot guy. Nooo, he’s a lilu in disguise. A tortured soul who can only exist by feeding off the sexual energy of others. A guy who sleeps his way around town and then some.

Technically, this should make him unlikable. But it doesn’t. Rho has a way of writing her characters in such a way that makes them so likable. Relatable. You end up cheering for them where your mind says you should be hating them.

Oliver, despite, or because of his succubus nature, draws you in and makes you fall in love with him. He’s tortured. He hates who he was forced to become. He’s lost. He’s drifting through life alone. Never connecting. Never truly feeling.

Neither Vale nor Oliver are ready for each other. And that’s why their connection is so combustible. It burns like a wildfire and pulls you in, scorching you with its intensity and leaving you panting in the aftermath.

And yet… in the end, it was the love that left me feeling warm and fuzzy. Yes, I enjoyed the spice. Yes, I enjoyed the suspense - will they / won’t they? But the love… Oomph. When Oliver and Vale finally get it together… Swoon. It left me crying, laughing, cheering.

I loved this book. I loved Rho’s writing style and I absolutely can’t wait to see what comes next.
