Raised by the devil in a world of darkness, I learned early that love is a dangerous convenience. I’ve dedicated my life to my brothers, to the bratva. I am my pakhan’s right-hand man and confidant. In my world, loyalty is the only currency that matters. So when I learn that the FBI is looking into things best left alone, I volunteer to do my own undercover operation, seeking out and courting the daughter of the lead agent to gain access to the man himself. Mireille is everything I’m young, innocent, hopeful…trusting. The closer we get, the more I want to be worthy of that trust. My loyalties are quickly shifting, and I’m torn between my love for my family and the woman who’s stolen my cold, dead heart and breathed life into it. In the end, an unexpected betrayal has me fighting like hell to save both.

"You're the king to my queen, Dmitri Balshov." ~Mireille
When I started reading this story, I was expecting something else. I wondered if Alexei's brother would even come close to sweeping me away like the first book did. Unfortunately, Dmitri Balshov didn't quite meet that standard. Something was missing during the first half of this book.😨 A little over half tbh.
Hear me out. Or rather let me explain as you read.😏 You have a notorious Pakhan, that's Alexei btw, and his 3 brothers running a huge crime syndicate in New York City. Although, I question the guy in California. He might not be involved. That remains to be seen. Anyway. And when an FBI agent decides to make a play for the Balshov family, then things have to be taken care of, right? They're a target. Hence Dmitri's mission. But the story didn't unfold that way. There should have been time spent between him and his mark, a cat and mouse game laying the foundation as Dmitri spent time with. 21yr old college student and daughter of said FBI agent. Not *spoiler alert* them playing one chess game, he won, then reading: weeks passed as they got to know each other. Uhh. Now they're having their first date. This is the story telling rather than showing this forbidden attraction being built. As for Dmitri spying and asking questions about her father, none of that happened. There was nothing. Ever. And even then this cold man, Dmitri was emotionally cold for me, wanted one thing with his girl. You can take a guess what that was.😝
Mireille Turner was sweet but she came across as very naive and easy to be played with. Slight gaslighting. Dmitri was very sure of himself with her but I didn't get a man feeling something for a woman that was supposed to be someone who mattered to him. He got rough and controlling. When she threw her head back, from being turned on and she hit the wall, he laughed at her. That was... embarrassing and oh soooo awkward.😵💫😬 Later, she wanted him to meet her parents. Nope. Imagine if he had. Mireille just seemed to want to have him as her boyfriend. When shady dealings go on with her Father, Mireille saw a certain person but didn't recognize that individual days later? It made no sense. And when Mireille tells her parents about Dima, Dimitri's nickname, her parents didn't ask anything about who their daughter was dating? He's older than her and her Dad didn't bother to ask questions.🤔
Is there a plot twist? Yes. But it's obvious. Now the action, which I liked, was already almost at the end. There was the long awaited emotions but I didn't believe in them, it was too little too late. She was obviously in love from the very first chess game. The story didn't flow easily. It lacked substance and connection. If you want domineering spice💋💋💋, it's here, but I wanted more than that. You want to know what Mireille was studying in college? Criminal justice.💼 The irony wasn't lost on me. But she chose to be complicit by.... I don't want to know.🙈😂😂 It's a made up story but it didn't work very well for me. I am looking forward to Viktor's book. If you want to read this one, I hope you enjoy it. The book cover is cool. Happy reading.*•>§<•*🖤🖤🖤

Dmitri Balshov, like all but one of his brothers, has joined his brother, Alexei, in the family business of crime. The youngest brother, Mikhail, lives in California and owns a record label. Although he'd never betray his family, he wants nothing to do with the family business. After the death of their father, Alexei became the pakhan, or head of this branch of the Bratva: the Russian Mafia.
The FBI is beginning a new investigation into the Balshov family. Their father had mental issues and made lots of messes and enemies before he died. XSpecial Agent Bill Turner is leading the investigation. Alexei has him investigated and finds he has a clean record; in fact, it's almost too clean. He also has a daughter, Mireille, who will also need to be investigated. Dmitri takes one look at her photo; he's instantly intrigued by her and says he'll check her out.
Mireille, like her father, has a squeaky clean record. She's twenty-one years old, a junior in college studying criminology. Her father is a decorated FBI agent who has inspired her choice of her major. She's very predictable; her daily schedule rarely varies. She plays chess in the park every afternoon. She's never lost a match until she played a game with Dmitri. Now there's a believable reason for him to see her daily. Although he'd pursue her even if they weren't investigating her father, she's that intriguing to him.
Mireille is stunned! She's never lost a match in the park. Now weeks later, he's asked her for a date. As she's getting ready, she's flustered. After all, this is her first real date—at least one that mattered. He's the first man to ever listen to her when she speaks and remember what she's said.
She wants him to meet her parents, but he delays doing that. Her father has no idea who she's dating. She's never told him Dmitri's last name, and she refers to him by his family's nickname for him, Dima.
She's having lunch with her parents when her father excuses himself to take a phone call. She follows him outside and sees him exchanging items with a man. This must be an informant. Her father didn't spot her, but the other man did. There’s something about the informant, and then she notices a tattoo on his hand. She doesn't know it, but the informant knows immediately who she is. He will kidnap her later...

A game of chess. A dangerous man. A forbidden love.
Mireille never imagined that the captivating man she met at the park would turn her world upside down. Dmitri is dark, intense, and burdened by a past he’s hiding. Their connection is electric, drawing her in despite all the warning signs. He’s the man of her dreams… and her worst nightmare.
What starts as a game becomes an obsession. Dmitri’s loyalty to his family forces him into a dangerous game of deception, but the more he gets to know Mireille, the harder it is to ignore how she makes him feel. Torn between duty and desire, Dmitri’s heart, once hardened by violence, opens to a love that could destroy them both.
When Mireille uncovers the truth, everything changes. The man she’s fallen for has been lying to her, and the consequences of his betrayal hit harder than she imagined. As trust shatters, they must decide if their love is worth the destruction it could bring. The stakes have never been higher, and neither is ready to walk away.
Mireille starts as a trusting woman, but as she falls for Dmitri, she learns painful truths about betrayal and love. Dmitri hides behind a cold exterior, but over time, he’s consumed by feelings for her, challenging his loyalty to his family. Their relationship evolves from casual encounters to a passionate bond, marked by guilt, desire, and the struggle between family loyalty and personal desire.
A hot, instalove, age gap Bratva romance filled with tension, obsession, and a love that could tear them apart. It’s about loyalty, betrayal, and the struggle between duty and desire in a world where innocence is lost and moral compromises are inevitable. Their love, built on lies and trust, threatens to destroy them both, but in the end, it’s about choosing what you want, even when redemption seems impossible and the risks are deadly.
The Elevator Pitch: A dangerous man, bound by loyalty to a violent world, is drawn into an all-consuming love with a woman who has no idea of the darkness that surrounds him. As their connection deepens, the lines between duty and desire blur, threatening to destroy everything they’ve built. In a battle between love, betrayal, and power, neither is prepared for the cost of choosing each other.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Bratva’s Temptation by Cassi Hart is everything I love about a dark Bratva romance—dangerous, emotional, and impossible to put down. From the very first chapter, Dmitri pulls you into his brutal world where loyalty to the bratva is everything and weakness can get you killed. Watching a man raised in darkness slowly fall for someone as pure and hopeful as Mireille was absolutely captivating. Their connection starts as manipulation but quickly grows into something deeper, and seeing Dmitri struggle between duty and love made this story incredibly compelling.
Mireille’s innocence and optimism were the perfect contrast to Dmitri’s hardened exterior. She believes in love and goodness, even when the world around her proves otherwise. The tension between them builds beautifully, especially once Dmitri realizes the woman he was supposed to use has become the one person he would burn the world down to protect.
I also loved the glimpses of the wider world Cassi Hart has created. Seeing familiar characters like Cass and getting a little more time with Mireille’s sister Daisy and her husband Forest—who had their own drama in a previous book—made the story feel even richer and more connected. Those small moments with side characters really add depth to the series.
With betrayal, danger, intense chemistry, and a hero fighting his own demons, this book delivers everything fans of morally gray Bratva heroes want. If you love dark romance with protective antiheroes and strong emotional stakes, this is definitely a must-read. I cannot wait to continue the series.

The Bratva’s Temptation by Cassi Hart is an exhilarating addition to the Villains of New York series, blending romance and suspense in a world ruled by loyalty and danger. The story follows Dmitri, a complex character whose devotion to his Bratva brothers is challenged when he’s sent on an undercover mission that leads him to Mireille, the innocent and hopeful daughter of an FBI agent. Their whirlwind romance brings out the softer side of Dmitri, creating a compelling dynamic as he struggles between his allegiance to his family and his growing feelings for Mireille.
Mireille’s first year of college is turned upside down when she meets Dmitri, an enigmatic and charismatic man whose mysterious past adds tension and excitement to their relationship. The chemistry between the two characters is unmistakable, and the stakes are high as secrets threaten to tear them apart. With authentic emotions, vivid characters, and a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this book is impossible to put down.
The Villains of New York series stands out for its morally gray heroes and passionate, unforgettable romances. Each book can be enjoyed on its own, but together they create a rich tapestry of stories. Cassi Hart’s writing is captivating and immersive, making The Bratva’s Temptation a highly recommended read for fans of high-heat, suspenseful romance.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. The FBI is investigating the Bratva NY chapter, Alexei learns of their investigation, so he sends his best to get close to the source. Dmitri sexy as all get out right-hand man to the pakhan, loyal to a fault, volunteers to get close to the agents daughter who is investigating them, he isn’t a man you want on your radar, he is dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day, and he didn’t count on getting know his daughter would change his path. Mireille is the daughter of an FBI agent first year in college romantic, believes in love and dreams of meeting the man of her dreams one day but not anytime soon but little did she know that day was sooner than she thought when she meets the sexy older guy. The magnetic pull is instant despite him being twice her age or him fighting the pull because he doesn’t believe in love considers it a weakness but the moment he meets her he knows she belongs to him but can he get in get the information he is looking for, is she anything like her father, what
Alexei Balshov informs his brothers that the FBI now have their family business on the radar again. Solution? Date the daughter of the FBI agent to find out what he knows, and use her as leverage. Dmitri is chosen for the job.
He meets Mireille in a park, after watching her decimate man after man at chess. Then he takes his turn. She’s surprised that he beats her, and now she’s curious about him. Contact made. Now it’s time to grow the relationship so he can get close to her father.
It’s clear that he’s going to fall in love with her, and that’s definitely going to create some stumbling blocks down the line.
Mireille is by no means an idiot; she’s studying law, looking to practice criminal defense. But when she meets Dmitri, she can’t help but feel that she’s found the man she wants to be with forever, especially after their steamy dates.
Of course the truth comes out, when Mireille overhears a conversation between Dmitri and his brothers. But getting to the resolution of it all is not a clear path. It all works out in the end, but it’s not an easy journey for Dmitri and Mireille.
If you enjoy possessive men who still want to honor and support their women, and male main characters who fall into the gray areas, you’ll love this book.

The Bratva's Temptation by Cassi Hart is the second title in the Villains Of New York series. The the plot of this bratva, age gap, instalove romance and the blend of danger, protectiveness, desire, and drama had me hooked quickly. Dmitri Balshov, younger brother to Alexei the new Pakhan of the bratva, volunteers to gather intel on the daughter of the FBI agent circling the family to open an investigation. Dmitri is intrigued by Mireille's photo and after meeting her in person is captivated. What was supposed to be a job fast becomes something much more and potentially dangerous for his family and Mireille. Mireille, younger, intelligent but inexperienced, is caught up in Dmitri's charisma and dominance and feelings grow despite a nagging hesitance that something is amiss. Circumstances bring danger and secrets into the light with things coming to a head. The storyline was well paced following the development of Dmitri and Mireille's relationship and the steam and spice kept me turning the pages to see how their HEA comes about.

*The Bratva’s Temptation* is the second book in the *Villains of New York* series. When Alexei learns that the FBI is gathering evidence against the family, Dmitri volunteers to get close to Mireille, the FBI’s daughter, to extract information about her father. The only problem with this plan is that Dmitri never expected to feel such a strong need to protect and possess Mireille; he realizes she is meant to be his.
Mireille feels an instant connection with Dmitri, which leads to some very spicy, intense moments filled with flirtation between them. Will Mireille be able to love the real Dmitri when she discovers who his family is? Or will Dmitri choose love over loyalty to his family?
Once again, Hart has crafted complex emotional characters that you can’t help but fall in love with, along with elements of danger, suspense, and betrayal that will hook you and leave you wanting more.

The Bratva's Temptation is book two in the Villains of New York series by Cassi Hart and focuses on the journey from lies and deceit to an HEA for mc's Dmitri and Mirielle.
What starts as getting to know Mirielle for information on her FBI father turns into something unexpected and so much more for Dmitri. He's fallen for the enemy's daughter, just as Mirielle's fallen for him, but she's unaware of who he really is, his motives behind getting to know her. Once the truth is revealed, will the all-consuming love they share be enough to overcome the deceit, or will Dmitri lose Mirielle for good?
This was incredibly well-written and such a gripping page-turner. And let me tell you, the spice was perfection. Absolute chef's kiss! Not that I'm surprised in the least on all accounts, considering Cassi Hart wrote this gem. This is one novel you'll regret not reading. It's that remarkable!
Yet another amazing read from Cassi Hart. I just love this series. This book is full of action and suspense, danger and romance. And I couldn’t get enough of it. This installment follows Dmitri, a hardened man devoted to his Bratva brethren, and Mireille, the innocent daughter of an FBI agent. Dmitri truly struggles in his conviction and dedication to the Bratva and his intense feelings for Mireille. The chemistry between these two is insane. And the connection is one that can’t be denied. Their relationship is threatened from multiple sides, and it had me on the edge of my seat to find out what happens with it. The way the author wraps up the book is honestly just perfection. This book grabs your attention from the very start and it keeps it until long after the last line is read.
This one pulled me in right away and did not let go. Dmitri is the perfect morally gray hero, loyal to his Bratva family but completely undone by the one woman he never meant to fall for. I loved the undercover angle and the tension that builds as his feelings for Mireille grow stronger while his secrets get heavier. Their chemistry feels intense but still emotional, and Mireille’s innocence and hope balance Dmitri’s darkness in such a satisfying way. The stakes stay high without overshadowing the romance, and the protective instincts are everything. If you enjoy mafia romance with a conflicted hero, real emotional depth, and a hard fought happily ever after, this is such an addictive read.

I am really enjoying the Villains of New York Series by Cassi Hart but Mireille and Dimitri's story is my favorite. Dimitri's task was to get close to Mireille, the daughter of an FBI agent investigating their family and find out everything he can. Developing feelings was not in his plans but the moment he laid eyes on the beautiful law student and expert chess player. Mireille is shocked by Dimitri's interest but she is definitely falling for the charming older man who surprises her at every turn. Dimitri knows his loyalty belongs with the family but he wants Mireille with an intensity he's never felt before. Just when he decides she belongs with him, Mireille learns the truth. Definitely recommend!
This was a quick and entertaining mafia romance, but it didn’t completely pull me in. The premise was interesting, and I liked the dynamic between Dimitri and Sophia, especially the way their connection starts through her cooking.
That said, the story felt a bit rushed at times. The relationship develops very quickly, and I would have loved more buildup and deeper character development. Some scenes felt a little too convenient, which made the plot less intense than it could have been.
Overall, it’s an easy, fast read with a nice mix of romance and danger, but it didn’t leave a huge impression on me. Still enjoyable if you’re looking for a short mafia romance.

This was the second in the series and Dmitri and Mireille's book. It was well on its way to four stars at least and then the timeline jumps and missing parts happened. That messes with the flow of the story.
It starts off with Dmitri volunteering to find something on Mireille's father. Instead, he falls for her. Alexei is more human in this book. There's a betrayal but it's seen coming and tied up too neatly. There's a crooked agent but no one's sure who has him on the take. There're spice and a strong female character that was hurt by time jumps and missing parts. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was another fun addition to the series but it starts off in a shady way. Dmitri is sent on a mission to get to know Mireille, an FBI agent's daughter, to see how they can control him. However, Dmitri didn't expect to be as attracted to the college student as he was. Mireille is super smart and is shocked at how well she connects to the mysterious Dmitri. The chemistry between them was fire hot but he's got secrets that you just know have to come out... Be prepared for a wild reading ride that works through action, danger, emotions and steamy romance in this high stakes read. Good fun!
This is book two in the author’s Villains of New York and, after reading the Lords of New York, I wouldn’t have guessed that I could love another series more (of course I thought the same thing about her other series too) but there’s just something about a villainous MMC that’s completely lacking in any of the softer emotions that can so easily be brought to their knees by a little innocent slip of a girl that just totally does me in! If that does it for you too, you have GOT to read this book to see firsthand how Mireille wraps Dmitri around her little finger! 4.5 stars

Dimitri is loyal to the Bratva and when he’s tasked with getting information on the FBI agent who is investigating them, he’s all in. He needs to get close to the agent, and his daughter will be the perfect cover. His plan is to seduce Mireille to get close to her father, but he didn’t expect to care for her so much. How will she react when she finds out the truth? Will she forgive him or want him out of her life forever?
This was a good read with suspense, danger and thrill. A sweet HEA and conclusion wraps up the story nicely.

As usual Cassie Hart writes with humor and depth.
The Bratva's Temptation continues the Villians of New York Series which focuses on Dimitri, the younger brother of the Pakhan of the New York Russian Bratva who is asked to romance Mireille who is the beloved daughter of the lead FBI Special Agent, Bill Turner. Dimitri agrees to find out information about the investigation into his family and Bratva through Mireille but does not expect for them to fall for each other. This intriguing romance has well developed characters, secrets, danger, a question of loyalties, twists, danger, and steamy attraction.

Dmitri is sent to get to know Mireille and get information on her dad any way possible. He just didn't know that this woman would change his whole life. There was something about her that made him want her and want to protect her and make her his in every single way. Mireille loved everything about Dmitri and was so happy to have him in her life. She just never knew how much things would change for her. This is a must read. The way this story developed and keeps you on the edge of your seat as to what is going to happen. This is a must read!!
Dmitri felt something for Mireille as soon as he saw her, yet he agreed to use her, I felt for her as she was being swept away and did not know what was really going on. There were a few places where I would have liked a little bit more clarity/information, but I did like them together and I believed that he was feeling different about things and was trying to find a way to get what he wanted and what his family wanted.

This was a really good story. Dimitri was shed to get close to Mireille so his brother could find it what was going on with the FBI. She was none the wiser. They were both immediately connected to one another. The and turnes in this had me turning the pages like no other. She was so sweet and I didn’t like that Dimitri was using her. Granted, he fell for her but he still wasn’t being honest with her. I feel like she walked into a relationship that started off as a lie. But the betrayals and lies, the steam and everything made this a really good book.
