Jade Bennett can handle corporate backstabbing and hostile takeovers. A bakery held together by prayer and expired permits, a reindeer farmer with trust issues and a vindictive town inspector with a mysterious grudge? Not so much.
When her aunt's beloved Sugar Pine Sweets faces foreclosure, Jade returns to Frost Pine Ridge armed with an MBA and zero idea how to fix a commercial oven. Her only ally is Leo Carter—her high school almost-romance who now raises reindeer and is convinced she'll leave the moment things get hard.
Between learning to bake her great-grandmother's legendary recipes, navigating small-town politics, and trying not to fall for a man who rescues her from electrical disasters while protecting his heart, Jade discovers that saving the bakery means saving herself. And maybe—if she can prove she's staying—saving a chance at love with the quiet, stubborn man next door.
Because sometimes the sweetest recipe isn't in any cookbook. It's coming home, fighting for what matters, and learning that the people who challenge you the most might be exactly who you need.
A heartwarming small-town Christmas romance about second chances, found family, and discovering that home isn't where you ran from—it's where you choose to stay.
Sweet Christmas Comeback begins the Frost Pine Ridge series with a delightfully fun and comfy Christmas tale of a woman who went out into the big, bad world after high school/college to follow her dream… and got chewed up and dumped out, only to come home to help her aunt at the family bakery. A bakery that might not be the refuge Jade thought it would be; it’s more like a sad, old building that needs a lot of tender, loving care and a lot of money to bring it back into its glory days.
With a woman who has held a family grudge for generations breathing down their necks, Jade and Aunt Mabel have a very short time to whip the bakery into shape… or sell it and walk away. And a high school friend, who might have been more if he hadn’t been so shy and tongue-tied around Jade back then. Definitely sparks an interest for them both in seeing what their future might hold. Second chances might be a possibility… if they can get beyond one major assumption, and repair what was broken, not only in the bakery building, but in relationships as well.
Jade and Leo’s romance is full of laughter, history, and misunderstandings. He’s convinced she won’t stay, so he’s reluctant to completely give his heart away. She’s determined to start fresh back home, and her first priority is to get the family bakery up to code and functional. The feelings she has for Leo might grow into something amazing, but only if trust between them is a two-way street. I adored Leo’s reindeer (and the cover shows them off perfectly), who each have their own unique personality. Sweet Christmas Comeback by Meredith Summers is an enjoyable, emotional, and, yes, small-town cozy Christmas celebration. It’s well-written, engaging, and realistic, even down to the town gossip and the petty memory of family feuds. I had fun and will happily continue on with this series.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Warm, inviting, one more chapter, one more, one more, one more!
After reading a couple of so-so books, this was a true breath of fresh air. Well written, immediately enveloping me into the story. The Christmassy vibe was perfectly done. A comforting read where you just know your heart will be warmed. It has all of the elements of a good Christmas romance. That coziness that comes from the small-town setting, and having the bakery added to that. The historical society stirring up trouble. And at the heart of it all a man and a woman falling in love. But of course it’s not all smooth sailing! I connected with Jade right away. Dual POV, which I always love in a romance novel. And yes, I liked Leo too, although there was one thing… but you’ll have to read for yourself! It’s worth the read, I can assure you!
This is a must-read, feel good, Christmas story. It’s about second chances, redemption, and reaching out.
Jade returns to Frost Pine Ridge to help her aunt with the family bakery. Things do not go as expected. I liked that the characters had flaws they needed to work through. The town is your typical small town with everyone getting involved for or against you. I enjoyed it and plan to put it on my revolving Christmas re-read list.
I was given an advanced readers copy and these are my own opinions.
Sweet Christmas Comeback by Meredith Summers is such a wonderful small town Christmas romance that I absolutely LOVED!
I love the Bakery and the Historical Society and all their issues LOL. I really enjoyed the dual point of views of Jade and Leo.
Second chance romance is my favorite trope and that with a Christmas romance, this is a must read! The characters were well fleshed out, flawed and well written.
The setting of Frost Pine Ridge is perfect. Small town vibes, second chance romance and Christmas.
This beautiful story will definitely put you in the holiday cheer. There is so much I enjoyed about this book like a community coming together for a good old fashioned Christmas, cookies, hot cocoa, and love. Fantastic characters and that magical time of year. Enjoy.
This book is a must-read for the Christmas holidays. It has all of the good feelings of a remembered past and a hopeful future. The characters are all people that you would like to know better. The setting of a small town Christmas is perfect. I highly recommend this book!
A great Christmas story. It has all the cozy feels of cute reindeer, hot cocoa, and a small town community coming together. A rival bake off makes it even better. I recommend this book especially if you enjoy all things Christmas.
This story was interesting, Jade retuning home to help her mother, the bakery was failing, wiring was bad, ovens not working properly, but through it all, Jade was determined to help her mother. More to come, enjoy.
