This was a super fun read. It was much more serious than the first volume and we learned a lot of different terms and the different purposes of each hound. The art was super nice and it was fun seeing the different characters interact.
I will say there is always room for improvement, and while the writing was better than the first, there were still a few things I would change. I also loved the new characters in the beginning, but I was sad we didn't get to see what happened with them. I hope we get to see more of them in the new volume.
I was hooked from beginning to end and seeing the details in the art was probably my favorite part. I also loved seeing the growth within the group and watching them help each other out. Jabari has a lot of issues and he can also be irritating and stubborn at times, but he is also super sweet and always keeps others in mind.
The mini episodes are always fun and enjoyable and I also really loved the addition of the art and sketches of what they wanted the characters to look like. The detail and the work they put into this series is showing. The CQC (Cory's Question Corner) was a GREAT addition and I look forward to seeing more in the future. As always, I can't wait to read the next one!
Not too shabby, the fight scenes were strong and the art style is clean and transitions well. I think the interactions Definatly took a back step, being replaced with pure action with it times taking over. It does feel at the moment that they’ve thrown in more characters before I’ve even fully connected with the original team. However hopefully in the next volume this will be covered and each character has their own unique connections with Jabari
This one was even better than the first one! The opening to this volume was sick. I could definitely see this being an anime! Although Imma need them to cool it on the "ice down" or "numlock" catchphrases. At times the dialogue can be cringe and forced instead of cheesy in that anime way. Like I get they're trying to build a world with new lingo but the characters don't have to jam it in every time they talk.
I like the expansion of the story and its core mysteries. The character cast is also very interesting and I like how they are obviously inspired by tropes but they also subvert them! Especially Jabari and his outlook on being a hound as a screwed up death sentence and not a cool super power. Once again, excited to see where the story goes as the volumes continue!
I enjoyed Volume 1, but Volume 2 was a major step forward for the series. The artwork showed a remarkable upgrade, the writing felt stronger, and the action sequences were engaging. The story’s pacing has also improved, making the volume even more immersive. I recommend this series to anyone interested in horror and action. I’m excited for future releases and will be following this series closely
Honestly, I wasn’t quite sure how to feel during the first vol but this was a step up. I really liked the development with the power system and the suit mechanics around it. The action was great overall but I do feel that some of the new characters could’ve been developed more.
Read this manga in 3 days. Fire 🔥 read. At the end I was laughing at the fact that people are asking Cory to put Berleezy twerking as an Easter egg in the anime.
Way more epic than vol 1. Loved getting a better understanding of tuning, a glimpse of other hounds and their potential, and finding out what Jabari's "I'm gonna be hokage" dream is.
