My only question at the moment is why is this one going to be 688 pages?? I'm 55% way through book 1 and also wondering why it's 502 pages. Don't get me wrong, it IS amusing, but why are these so long????

This series is just so much fun and the sequel really stepped it up a notch from the first book. Everything that was good in Dating was amplified in Honeymooning.

We got to see the side characters sooo much more, they really made the whole book so enjoyable. I am obsessed with Sebastian. The humor was fine-tuned and I was laughing out loud nearly every page. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat, there was so much action, travel and increased magic at every turn. I was also theorizing like crazy. The author drops little hints nearly every page and I’m not sure if I’m delusional and making things up, or if all my theories are going to come true.

I did think the first book was too long but this one felt very justified in its length with how much was going on and the faster pace. If you enjoyed the first book, you will love this one.

Thank you to Scarlett Press for an advanced copy.

Still gave me all the Assistant To The Villain vibes, it is a touch long though. I think 100 pages less would have been ideal.

The storyline of Kaz and the Shadow King was a really interesting twist and I liked the character development, including the introduction of the Scone Lord.

Overall a good book, and I’ll be reading the next one when it comes out for sure!

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Scarlett Press, and Tiffany Hunt for the eARC, all opinions are my own!

The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) is everything I could want in a sequel. Kazimir and Arabella Blackrose are now in their honeymoon phase even if everything isn’t coming up roses. We get a brand new campaign with the same Dark Lord and Dark Lady, only… better, I think. Kaz is still delightfully villainous, Arabella is still carving out her place in the world, and there is no shortage of touch them and pay the ultimate price energy, world domination plotting, dark humor, hilarious banter, chaos, conquest, and sizzling spice. Add in assassination attempts, "preventive custody," the occasional world altering magical event, and a cosmic evil Shadow King with a penchant for world domination that may or may not be possessing Kaz, and you've got a story that is sometimes ridiculous but always utterly delightful. And if that doesn't convince you to read this, well... I don't know what to tell you. It should. It really, really should.

The plot is interesting and engaging. It did take a minute to really get going, but honestly, I was perfectly happy spending more time with these characters. They're just a lot of fun. There are plenty of new adventures, elaborate schemes, and a good battle or two, but we also get answers and more information about people and events that were teased in the first book. We dive right back into the thick of things with the characters I either love or loathe, while a handful of new faces keep things fresh. And of course, no proper villain story would be complete without some dramatic villain monologues. They're surprisingly helpful for filling in the gaps, even if they lean a little more toward telling than showing at times. I also appreciated that the world building expanded without ever weighing the story down. It complemented everything rather than taking over. And I have to say, the God Spire was a curiosity indeed and I mean that in the best way. We even get quick visits to places like Azroth's Claw, Valmont, and Meridian Isle. What more could you want in a world?

There is also some emotional weight here, which I loved. Kaz's emotional intelligence is absolutely abysmal, but somehow that just made me want to hug him even more. Villains need love too. Am I right? And a Dark Lord who is more obsessed with having his wife by his side than the armies at his back? Yes, please. Arabella absolutely came into her own in this book too. Watching her embrace the power, the chaos, and her healing and dominion magic beside Kaz was glorious. I loved her “aggressive compassion,” and I loved seeing her become who she was meant to be.

Beyond all the chaos and humor, there were some touching moments woven into the story. The idea that power shared is power multiplied really stuck with me, and I loved the reminder that loving someone means guarding their blind spots while they fight their own demons.

As much as Kaz and Arabella carry this story, they aren't alone. Vex, Griffin, and Thorne add so much depth, and I am always here for found family vibes with a villainous twist. Then Tiffany Hunt throws Sebastian into the mix. A scone baking, virtuous, noble flower lord somehow surrounded by this wonderfully dysfunctional crew? Absolute found family gold.

And that ending...

Ummm... say what now?

You're really going to leave me hanging with that cliffhanger?

Villainous.

4.5 stars because of the minor emotional damage and a couple of microscopic flows, but I'll absolutely be first in line for the next book.

Book Review: The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) by Tiffany Hunt

Tiffany Hunt's greatest strength is her dialogue. Kazimir and Arabella's banter is consistently entertaining, and their chemistry develops through wit as much as attraction. I went into this without having read the first book, and it still worked well as a standalone, with enough context provided to follow the relationships and stakes without feeling lost. The premise itself is refreshingly original, placing the Dark Lord at the center of the story rather than casting him as the villain to be defeated. Watching the pair navigate political alliances, reluctant attraction, and the burden of an ancient magical heirloom made for an engaging and surprisingly charming read.

The plot is more eventful than it initially appears, steadily escalating from political maneuvering into personal and historical conflict. What begins as a relatively contained dynamic between Kazimir and Arabella quickly expands into broader kingdom-level stakes involving the Heirloom, shifting alliances, and the resurfacing of long-buried truths about both of their families. A key turning point comes with the revelation that Kazimir's mother killed Arabella's mother, reframing their relationship in a much more personal and painful way and forcing both characters to reconcile love, loyalty, and inherited violence at the same time. Alongside this, Kazimir's obligations to the mysterious Alchemist interrupt his own plans for conquest, pulling him into a series of increasingly chaotic detours that include kidnappings, assassination attempts, and a steadily unraveling political situation that neither of them can fully control.

While the premise feels inventive, the fantasy worldbuilding relies on many familiar romantasy conventions. Shadow magic, life magic, truth-sense, ancient artifacts, and a hero carrying an almost operatic amount of emotional baggage all make appearances. None of these elements detracted enough to lessen my enjoyment, but I did find myself wishing the magical framework had been as distinctive as the central concept. The originality of the novel lies less in its magic system than in its character dynamics and playful voice.

Ultimately, this is a book that succeeds because of its execution rather than its novelty. Hunt's sharp dialogue and memorable characters elevate a story built from recognizable genre conventions, and the romance remains engaging from beginning to end. I came away far more invested in Kazimir and Arabella's relationship than I expected, and despite occasionally rolling my eyes at a few familiar tropes, I had a difficult time putting this one down.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. This is my honest and voluntary review.

The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) by Tiffany Hunt is the 2nd book in the Guides to Villainy and Love series.

I was only through the first chapter and I was ALREADY cackling on every single page. Yes, chapter ONE... and I knew immediately that this second book of the series was going to be just as hilarious as the first. (Spoiler: it absolutely is.)

Arabella does not let Kazimir get away with a single ounce of his BS, and that's exactly what makes their dynamic so much fun. When these two go toe to toe, she gives just as good as she gets, every single time. No simpering, no eye-rolling-while-secretly-swooning heroine here — she matches him blow for blow (figuratively speaking, of course), and honestly? It's glorious.

And the pacing! Tiffany Hunt is an absolute master at this. Tension, light comedic beats, intimacy, rapid-fire banter, and pure desperation are all measured out with absolute precision — and just when you think you've caught your breath, she punctuates it all with another moment that has you laughing out loud (that would be me, repeatedly, embarrassing myself in public).

Some of my favorite chaos highlights so far are the "inappropriately chatty" set of black roses that had me almost choking on my tea.

Then there was this absolute gem of a line, which might be the most dire sentence ever uttered in romantasy history: "We're going on our honeymoon. Prepare accordingly."

The names for things again are a delight, and we have more cool place names! The Shattered Sea, Godspire, the Lawless Expanse, Azroth's Claw, and more.

But nothing prepared me for the pickled (both literally and figuratively) cornhole game. I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be the single funniest thing I have ever read in my entire life. I stopped reading, went back, and read that scene three times before I let myself continue the book. THREE TIMES. It was just. That. Funny.

"The real question… is whether we're aiming for the holes, or if the holes are aiming for us."

I rset my case.

Now, yes, some genuinely dire, dangerous, and heartbreaking stuff happens in this book too (because Tiffany Hunt is just as skilled at the dark and desperate moments as she is at the comedy), but I can't say more than that because SPOILERS.

So if you'll excuse me, I have to go find that cornhole scene and read it all over again.

Note: This is an ARC review.

Because that's what you did when you loved someone. You stood over their body on a battlefield and commanded an undead monstrosity while your dragon ate your enemies. - The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning

Words cannot genuinely express how much I loved this book. It's not often anymore that I find myself bursting out laughing, but this book did just that. From the first book, I fell in love with Kazimir, Arabella, and the rest of their ragtag villainous crew. That love just kept growing more and more in the second book.

One of the things that I stated I LOVED about Arabella in the first book was that she continued on her path in being a villain, she didn't just fight against Kazimir to turn him into a good person. This woman is a genuine badass. She not only stayed in her villainous ways through this book, but she also still had compassion and kindness when it was deserving. She absolutely gave Kazimir a run for his money, and often kept him in check when he needed it. She is quite literally the perfect wife for the villain.

Kazimir was just epic in this one. He still keeps the crown for top villain husband for me, and I doubt that will change anytime soon. You'll just have to read it to really understand why!

I stated above, but I absolutely love their ragtag group. This is the most found family that I have ever read about, and I am slightly disappointed they're not real (also obviously glad for obvious reasons). Griffin, Thorne, Vex, Kazimir, Arabella, and one of the best inclusions ever - Sebastian -, really are just such a great family. All of them have their weird quirks, but it's amazing how much they love and protect each other - even if they'd never say that. One of the best moments is definitely when we see them playing cornhole. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard at a book as I did then.

Tiffany Hunt is still an absolute MASTER at making things comedic while still holding true to the slightly darker aspects of the novel. The pacing was perfect, and I once again found myself very sad that the book was already over with.

I will ABSOLUTELY be reading the next book, whenever it comes out. Thank you to the wonderful author and netgalley for the ARC of this book. I quite literally cried when I received news about being accepted.

I shall now leave you with this quote:
"Flying. Dying. Someone please stop me from crying." -The Dark Lord's Guide...

Review No Spoilers: Kazimir and Arabella embark on a honeymoon where the only thing more dangerous than their enemies are their growing feelings for each other in this deliciously wicked and riotously funny second book in the Guides to Villainy and Love romantasy series that’s Assistant to the Villain meets Dreadful.

Step Four: Take her on a honeymoon.

The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) by Tiffany Hunt was my most anticipated read of 2026. The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating (and Other War Crimes) was my favorite book of 2025. From the very first moment I picked it up, I was all in. Tiffany Hunt has a writing style all her own, filled with wit, sarcasm, delightfully misfit characters, clever, high-stakes plots, and just the right amount of spice to fuel the fire.

Kazimir is villainy in every sense of the word. Broody, murderous, brutal, and completely without hesitation or regret. He rules with an iron fist...except when it comes to his wife, the beautiful and spicy Arabella.

Arabella is equal parts patient and determined. She rules her husband, but not in the way you might think. She is the calm to his storm. She is everything he needs, even when he doesn't realize it himself. She somehow turns his pitch-black soul into a medium gray. And he smiles whenever she's around.

Something he never did before. Dark Lords don't smile. This one does whenever Arabella is near.

Together they embark on a long-awaited honeymoon...kind of. It's really more of a scouting mission disguised as a honeymoon. The apocalypse is coming, and they have to figure out how to stop it before King Auremar and the Shadow King grow too powerful.

Kazimir, Arabella, Vex, Thorne, Griffin, Nyx, and, of course, the Scone Lord are the found family you always wanted. I would absolutely pack up and move to Skyspire. I hear they're hiring, and the accommodations are...well, let's just say at least there are the scones. I hear they're fabulous.
I've read more than 150 books so far this year.

This is, hands down, my favorite. I knew it would be.

I don't think I breathed once during Chapter 65. I'm still charged from the intensity of the moment that will live in my head forever. The visualization was so vivid. So intense. So...climactic.

Now I'm already counting down the days until the next installment. Maybe The Dark Lord's Guide to Parenting?

Thank you so very much to Tiffany Hunt and Scarlett Press for the ARC.

⚔️👹 ARC REVIEW | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First things first—thank you to Tiffany Hunt, Scarlett Press, and NetGalley for the eARC! 💜 The Dark Lord’s Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) releases September 8, and trust me… you’re going to want this on your TBR. Who knew a honeymoon could involve attempted world domination, dragons, demonic curses, family drama, and surprisingly life-changing pastries? Because apparently that’s what happens when your favorite morally questionable power couple goes on vacation. Kazimir and Arabella remain one of my all-time favorite fantasy couples. Their chemistry is absolute chaos, their banter deserves its own award, and every interaction had me grinning like an idiot. They somehow manage to be terrifying, hilarious, and ridiculously sweet all at once. What I adore most about this series is that it constantly walks the line between laugh-out-loud absurdity and genuine emotional depth. One minute I’m cackling over evil plots and villain meetings, and the next I’m completely invested in two beautifully scarred people discovering that opening your heart might be scarier than facing an ancient evil. And can we talk about Tiffany Hunt’s world-building? She somehow convinced my brain that dragons, cursed bloodlines, dark magic, baked goods, and villainous domestic bliss naturally belong together—and now I refuse to accept otherwise. If your fantasy preferences include villains you accidentally root for, dragons, morally gray romance, found family, heroic chaos, baked goods with suspiciously important plot relevance, and a “we’re definitely the bad guys” couple who are somehow the most lovable people in the book, then this series was literally written for you. Five stars. No notes. Evil has never looked this adorable, and honestly? I hope these two continue committing crimes together forever. 🖤🐉⚔️ #BookTok #FantasyBooks #Romantasy #ARCReview #NetGalley #TiffanyHunt #ScarlettPress #TheDarkLordsGuideToHoneymooning #MorallyGray #FantasyRomance

This was a great second book in the series. The things I loved in the first book appear here as well: a morally grey MMC AND FMC who embrace their villainous side together while protecting the ones they love; fun banter; found family; dysfunctional birth families; not to mention magical people, places, animals, and things. In this book, Arabella increases in her confidence, magic, and control of the heirloom, while Kaz deals with his past trauma and learns that how he feels for his wife doesn’t make him weaker as a villain. Arabella accepts who Kaz is, even when he isn’t sharing things that are critical to their fight for control of the realm. And, Kaz accepts who Arabella is (most of the time) -someone who can protect herself, someone who can kill those who wrong her or those she cares for, while still being the women who will frustrate him to no end by filling his home with heroes, children, and chaos.

Besides the banter between Arabella and Kaz, the side character development in this book was one of the highlights. We don’t fully deep dive into Thorne, Vex, and Griffin from their own POVs, but we get glimpses into their backstories and personalities. Sebastian, as an addition, gave us another hero who has the same end goal of surviving and fighting against Auremar, but whose morals and approach are different from Arabella’s. His softer personality as a baking, plant-wielding hero, who desires peace serves as a contrast to Arabella’s darker, shadow and light-wielding personality. I loved watching him develop during the story.

Overall rating 4.5/5 ⭐️
I did find this book a bit long, for me it really picked up momentum around the 55/60% mark, but it took a bit of time to get there.

There is that saying that the sequel is never as good as the original.

That saying does not apply here.

I loved The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating (and Other War Crimes). It was one of my favorite reads of the year. I was convinced this sequel would be good, but surely it couldn't live up to the first book.

Wrong.

Wrong.

Wrong.

I think this book might actually be even better.

The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) picks up right where the first book leaves off, and we get to explore what it really means for Arabella and Kazimir to not only possess the heirloom, but to now be bound together.

This book took so many unexpected turns, and I want to talk about them so badly. But even the smallest hint would ruin the experience, so I'm keeping my mouth shut.

Just know that, as expected, Arabella continues to turn Kazimir's world completely upside down.

And then there's Griffin.

Utter chaos.

Like the first book, the humor is woven throughout the story, making it such a fun read even when the plot takes darker, more serious turns. I found myself laughing one minute and completely invested in the high-stakes moments the next.

I also love how Tiffany Hunt writes her characters. No one feels like they're there just to fill space. Every character has a purpose. Every character has secrets... well, maybe not Griffin.

The interactions between everyone are just as entertaining as the plot itself, and the banter is one of my favorite parts of the series.

Funny, entertaining, twisty, and completely addictive.

If you love villains, magic, chaos, and a healthy dose of humor, you need this series in your life.

Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for the next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

Standalone/Series: Book 2 in the Guides to Villainy and Love series (must be read in order)
Format: E-book
Genre: Romantasy, Fantasy Romance, Humorous Fantasy
POV: First person, dual POV
Slow Burn/Insta Love: Established relationship
Spice Level: 3/5 – Moderately spicy, open door
Tropes:
Villain gets the girl
Married couple
Shadow magic/Shaddow Daddy/Shaddow Mommy?
Morally gray MMC
Found family
Touch them and die
No third-act breakup

I really enjoyed returning to this world and these characters. The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning picks up after The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating, and I definitely recommend reading the first book before starting this one.
One of my favorite things about this series is how well it balances humor with genuinely high stakes. It has the charm and banter of a comedic fantasy, with plenty of ridiculous moments, but the plot still feels serious and the stakes remain high throughout.
Kaz continues to be exactly the kind of morally gray, over-the-top villain I love reading about, and I really enjoyed seeing his relationship with Arabella grow now that they're married. Their chemistry, banter, and complete willingness to cause chaos together make them such a fun couple to follow.
One thing I especially appreciate is that this series avoids the dreaded third-act breakup. Instead of relying on unnecessary relationship drama, the conflict comes from the external plot, which I personally prefer.
Based on the ending, I'm guessing the series will continue, but it isn't an unbearable cliffhanger. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where Kaz and Arabella's story goes next.

This. Was. Incredible.

These two books are 6 star reads for me.

The humor is as on-point as ever. From "floor-based strategy meetings" to pretty much anything having to do with Griffen, this motley crew of characters is as enchanting and enthralling as book one, and there is honestly a reason to laugh on essentially every page.

But that isn't to say there isn't emotional stakes, here, and in fact (looking at you, chapter 52) someone was clearly cutting onions nearby during several scenes. We learn more about Kaz's terrible childhood and young adulthood, and Arabella absolutely comes fully into her own.

Ah, Kaz and Arabella.

They are PERFECT. Utterly made for each other, and it reminds me SOOOO much of Gomez/Morticia Addams. A couple obsessed with each other, and each of them knowing and accepting the other like no one else ever could. The spice is hot, and their banter unmatched.

If I'm reaching for anything critical to say, I'd maybe put out there tha there is a miscommunication trope in the middle which annoyed me, because if they'd just sat down and talked like adults, it could have been fixed, but thankfully, it doesn't last too long, and the plot is plotting while this is happening, so it wasn't dragging anything down.

And this is a minor issue at most. Everything else about this book is incredible and wonderful, and I will be re-reading book 1 and this one repeatedly. Although I don't think book 3 has been announced yet, that ending and several dangling plot threads strongly suggest this isn't the end of the road for our intrepid villain and villainess.

And I for one cannot wait!!!

Continuing where the previous book left off, Dark Lord Kazimir Blackrose and his Dark Lady Arabella are back. With the power of their marriage and the heirloom, Kaz is preparing to finally conquer Solandris. But things may not be that simple. When the Alchemist calls in a debt, the two take on the challenge. But they are keeping secrets from each other: Arabella tries to recover her stolen memories while Kaz battles with whispers in his mind. Will they trust each other past the honeymoon phase? And can they finally say those three little words?

This second in the series continues to shine with the banter and incredible found family, now with the addition of the lovable Sebastian (the Scone Lord!). The whole crew is so much fun to see back in Skyspire! The witty dialogue and spice were all great to see carried over from the prior book.

For me, I wish this was a bit shorter (this was about 150 pages longer than the first). While parts kept me engaged, a failure to communicate mid-way through felt just too long. Once the final act started though, I was fully back in. And I cannot wait for the next in the series (that cliffhanger!).

This romance fantasy features:
🖤 Dark Lord and Lady
🖤 Secrets
🖤 Marriage of convenience that has turned into real
🖤 Found family
🖤 Ancient Evil
🖤 No third act breakup
🖤 Past trauma and healing
🖤 Working on that trust and communication

3.5 ⭐️ We’re back with Arabella and Kazimir and their aspirations to conquer a rival kingdom. Before they can enact their plans they are summoned to repay a debt. The things they learn will forever change their world and they have to work against the clock to stop an ancient evil being.

I loved the first book in the series, but unfortunately this one fell a bit short for me. Kazimir and Arabella hold back so much from each other throughout the whole book, and I just wish they would have communicated. Their keeping secrets lead to disastrous consequences by the end of the book.

What I loved so much about the first book was Arabella and Kazimir working together. In this book they are separated for a big chunk of it. They’re at their best when working as a pair, and I really wish they had been doing so in this story. The book ends on a cliffhanger, not in regards to their relationship, but with the ongoing story. I can see why the author made the choices she did in the story, because it sets up the next book.

The best parts of the story is the found family aspect, and the side characters that surround Arabella and Kazimir. I loved the addition of Sebastian, and his stress baking. I appreciated that Kazimir grew in his feelings, and became an even better Dark Lord. I definitely plan on reading the next book in the series! I want to thank Scarlett Press and NetGalley for the copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to leave a review.

This was a fun follow up to one of my favorite books from earlier this year. Although there are some major action scenes later in the book, for the most part this is a slower pace and more introspective than book 1. Kaz is dealing with the aftermath of the Heirloom’s activation awakening the Shadow King’s remnant in his mind. Kaz’s control slips more and more, resulting in several fights with Arabella, which fractures their united front against the evils they face. Their lack of communication throughout the book (with Arabella equally guilty of withholding information, thinking it’s sparing Kaz) causes a good amount of the tension here, though several new external threats emerge against them. There are some major cliffhangers here, and lots of drama, so there is a lot left for book 3 to resolve.

I liked the addition of Sebastian, a childhood friend of Arabella’s with a heroic bloodline who was being hunted by King Auremar. Arabella struggles with her lack of memories due to her father’s use of mages to manipulate her mind, and she realizes that she’s missing large sections of her history with Sebastian. Although Sebastian clearly has some secrets he’s hiding, having him serve as a foil to make Kaz jealous was a fun twist.

The whole supporting cast is also great and adds comedic relief—and many cute moments, as well. Nyx (Arabella’s dragon) is my favorite here, though Vex also steps up as a friend and confidante to both Kaz and Arabella.

My only slight critique is that this dragged a bit in the middle. I wouldn’t want to cut any plot points, but Kaz and Arabella’s back and forth with not really communicating, and with Kaz constantly fighting the Shadow King in his mind alone, made it feel a bit repetitive. Still loved the story, but it perhaps could have cut out 50 pages and been stronger for it.

Thank you to Scarlett Press and Edelweiss+ for providing an ARC for review!

The Dark Lord’s Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) — Tiffany Hunt (⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.5 stars)

Kazimir and Arabella are back, and while trying to continue their goal to conquer Solandris, some side quests must take place, leading the two to take their honeymoon….with some underlings, and prisoners. Arabella is still working to gain her memories and Kazimir is not only battling his enemies, he’s got an internal fight happening as well. The two must work together to keep their dark reign protected.

Coming back into the Dark Lord’s world, was a fun trip. I laughed multiple times at the ridiculousness of Kaz with all his underlings. He truly represents a villain who wants to destroy but also is willing to collect all the misfit toys around him. It’s chaotic and ridiculous, but entertaining as hell. The side characters with their sass, disasters, and ability to 100% be themselves is a fun addition.

Throughout this, my biggest challenge was the length. There were times the story dragged. Many times I was left feeling like I had to finish vs being so engrossed in the story you can’t stop reading. At times it feels like bringing the humor was more important than moving the story forward. All that said, I still greatly enjoyed it and am ready for whatever is next for the Dark Lord and his ridiculous kingdom.

Liked: Banter, Entertaining, Humor, Side characters, Strong characters, Villain
Disliked: Pacing, Too long
Would I recommend? Maybe
Who it's for: Those who have read book one, enjoy a humorous tale, and a relatable villain.

🌶🌶

I love this series. I personally wouldn't call it a dark romantasy, though there is plenty of blood and killing going on. The lust, intrigue, and banter between Kaz and Arabella give it an almost rom com feel to it- they both just also happen to have incredible magical powers.

Guide to Honeymooning picks up right after Guide to Dating. Except the attraction and instalust between Kaz and Arabella, while still smoldering is now much deeper and love is there though both are too afraid to say the 3 words. I also love we get a lot more of the backstory and their childhoods from both of them. It explains their adult characters so well.

Once again this series has a break neck speed where there is never really a lull. Kaz and Arabella are constantly being dragged from one disaster to the next while trying to save the world but also be the Dark Lord and Lady- Arabella continues to embrace her dark side. There are a few chapters that I honestly would have cut out just because it was a longer book and some of it didn't really add to the plot.

There is a small cliffhanger ending.

Tropes-
- Touch him/ her and die
- Afraid to show feelings
- Rings that connect them
- A not so baby dragon pet
- So much banter
- Past trauma and healing
- Same found family dynamic as book 1

Thank you to the author, NetGalley and Scarlett Press for the eARC!!!

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I absolutely LOVE this book and this series!!! The writing is so joyful! This will put anyone in a great mood. It’s funny, clever, sexy, flirty, dangerously addictive. It is the type of book you will want to sit and read straight through in one day because it is so fun and well-written. The characters jump off the page, and the diolague had me cackling the entire book! It felt like I was watching the comedy unfold; it was so vivid and real (well as real as a dark lord and lady navigating their honeymoon stage of their relationship)

The characters are hilarious and very likable. This is one of the best found families I’ve ever read. I love how they all fit together and complement each other but all have very distinct and unique personalities.

The dialogue and banter is SO good I feel like I’m in the room w the characters, laughing at their quips and can see their facial expressions.

I fucking LOVE the chapter titles!!! They make me lol EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The Doom Scroll!! Omg I love it! Then this “it’s brilliant. Though I wonder if you’ve considered adding a happiness index as a counter balance?” 😂😂

Also VEX!! 🥹 laying it down and making Kaz realize his feelings. I love this book so much and I can’t wait to (hopefully) get another book in this series!

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this ahead of release!

Love this series! I love Kaz and Arabella and the whole cast of side characters. I loved how the author tied up certain threads but left so many more dangling for the next book.

So. Many. Threads.

Honestly, so much happened in this book it’s hard to keep track of it all. At one point approximately 50% through, I glanced down at my kindle and realized I was actually only 13% through 😳 I could hardly believe that much had happened and I was still just starting to get into it.

I didn’t love the non-communication between Kaz and Arabella. So much could have been saved had they just opened up with each other about the thing both of them knew.

I loved the addition of Sebastian, and I loved Griffin’s hero worship and bumbling. The secrets the Shadow King mentioned about Vex and Griffin are nagging at me and I really want to know more about them both. I also really need to know what’s going on with Sebastian and his morning glories. And, of course, that ending! Of course Kaz is going to get himself into something that only Arabella could save him from, and of course he chooses to do it when she’s not there!

I can’t wait to read the next book, but I’ll probably have to go back and reread both the first two books at that time so I can remember all the threads and everything else that happened.

I want more Kazimir and Arabella, stat! Thank you to Tiffany Hunt, Scarlett Press, NetGalley and Edelweiss for the opportunity to read an early review copy. I had unintentionally put off picking up The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating (and Other War Crimes) and the ARC approval for The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) made me prioritize reading TDLGTD(AOWC) on KU.

If you've been craving a series that hits like Assistant to the Villain - a Villain who is down bad for the FMC and a super strong FMC that not only puts the Villain in their place but at time dominates them - pick up The Dark Lord's Guide series immediately. The Found Family, the power struggles, the YEARNING, the sarcastic sass, the inner turmoil (& monologue!), childhood trauma, actual growth, The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning (and Other Acts of Tyranny) has it all.

I will say that the ending is RUDE. Every time I thought the story was wrapped up, there was a continuation. The actual ending.... speechless...and then I have to wait for the next book? Insolent in the absolute best way. I also wouldn't complain for an off shoot series to Sebastian or Vex, how about Vex's Guide to keeping The Dark Lord & Lady from Blowing up the World (Among other Professional Duties)? Or even Sebastian's Guide to Baking and Botany (While Fighting Rhymes)?

Overall rating; 4.25 out of 5 stars

Thank you to the publisher, Netgalley, and the author for this advanced reader's copy.
I was really excited for this book but found myself struggling through more than half of it.
Book 2 opens right after book 1, so we're right back into the action.
I'm not sure what it was about this that was so hard. I hated the CHOSEN miscommunication trope that occurred, though it did resolve itself at the end. Kaz and Arabella spent almost half this book at odds and for something so silly that could have been resolved in a few lines of dialogue. Kaz had his frustrating moments for sure, but Sebastian was the shining star of this book. He rounded out the cast of characters beautifully and added a lot of depth to this book BUT I feel like there are a lot of secrets still hidden about him and Vex.
Even Arabella had some moments where I wanted to reach through the book and strangle her. The plot dragged halfway through, and I found myself skimming pages and pages of dialogue.
Even after the main climax, the book continued on far too long. It did end on a cliffhanger, though I'd expected it.
Overall, there were parts of this where I was holding my breath and cheering---and others where I had to force myself to continue. I loved the first book, but this one was just fine.
I will likely continue, if only to see how it all ends.

First, thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this as an ARC. This title will release on September 8, 2026, and you can pre-order it like I did, from wherever you buy your books.

While I enjoyed this book, At 688 pages, I found it to be unnecessarily too long. I found some of the geographic travel/further world building to be absolutely unnecessary and not important to the story. In my opinion, the book would have been just fine without the extra chapters during the trip to the God Spire to see the alchemist. Not every book needs to be super long to convey a point, sometimes being more succinct is the way to go, but that is just personal preference.

What I did love was the developing love story between Kaz and Arabella and the fact that throughout the events of the book, they come to realize what love truly is and what it means to love someone. I love that they were able to work through what happened to them as children and come out stronger.

"Love was about guarding someone's blind spots while they fought their demons."

Other highlights for me included eyeball golf and the addition of corn hole with organs, Nyx, the snark and the titles of the chapters. One great thing about Tiffany Hunt, is that her minor characters stand out and stick with you just like the major characters do.

ARC REVIEW:
I received an advance copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

The Dark Lord's Guide to Honeymooning was everything I wanted from a sequel and MORE! Another easy 5 stars! The banter between Kaz and Arabella? Somehow even better than book one. Their chemistry is unmatched, the tension surrounding the L word had me kicking my feet, and Kaz being completely obsessed with his wife will never get old. Protective, possessive, devoted... this man is DELICIOUS!! I also loved the side characters in this one. Poor Griffin had me laughing more times than I can count, and watching Kaz get annoyed whenever Arabella bonded with his crew was hilarious. Speaking of the crew…Sebastian. Listen, I LIKE Sebastian. I do. But something feels suspicious. Between the plant whispering, the secretive vibes, Kaz noticing things, and Arabella suddenly remembering feelings and that forgotten kiss from her past... I have questions because something is definitely brewing there. The magic system and overall plot really opened up in this book, and I'm so invested in where everything is headed. And then there's THAT ENDING… Excuse me?! Who was that? What was that? Was it who I think it was?! UGHHHH the waiting game is excruciating painful Mrs. Tiffany Hunttttt!

A big thank you to Scarlett Press, Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for the eARC!

I loved getting back into this world. This sequel captures all the momentum of the first book and just completely runs with it, keeping me hooked from the very first page.

It was so much fun watching Kazimir and Arabella work together and dive into their signature banter. You really get to see them find their groove, both as an unstoppable couple and as individuals. The side characters are just as fantastic. They amplify the leads perfectly without ever distracting from the main story.

The humor in this book is so good. Just like the first installment, it strikes the perfect balance ranging from sharp dark humor to witty sexual humor, making you laugh out loud without even realizing it. The plot itself is incredibly engaging and kept me reading late into the night.

As I was getting closer to the end, I kept wondering if we'd get even more of this world, and there is definitely plenty of space left for a third book. Now to wait for the announcement for the third installment.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Tiffany Hunt, Scarlett Press, and NetGalley for giving me an e-ARC to read ahead of publishing.
