Grumpy Sunshine - Enemies-To-Lovers - Bad Boy Rockstar RomanceThe last man I should be fake-engaged to is Rio Wilder— Big Bro’s best friend, a “bad boy” Rockstar, and reason teenage crushes should come with warning labels.

So now we’re sharing a Vegas suite, posing for cameras, and trading snark like it’s foreplay.
Our fake smiles look great on TV…yet behind closed doors, the chemistry is getting way too real.
And if Rio Wilder keeps looking at me like that?
This fake engagement might become the most real—and most reckless—yes of my life.

Rio has taken things too far and is in need of a major overhaul of his image for his band to get a record deal. Then when Steven, the guitarist and Rio’s best friend, mentions his sister Maddie to help out she finds herself on her way to Vegas. Maddie has had a crush on Rio since she was a kid plus she needs some big money for a surgery for her dog, Snorty. Snorty steals the show and this author did a great job making this possible.
To say there were misunderstandings is an understatement for Rio and Maddie no thanks to Maddie’s ex-fiancé. When Maddie needs someone immediately to help with Snorty, it’s Rio she calls and he responds immediately. I loved the connection between these two and it was a fairy tale come to life for Maddie. I had a great time reading this book and so glad the little family got their HEA.
Rio is the ridiculously handsome frontman of the band—and Maddie’s brother’s best friend. Maddie has had a crush on Rio since she was thirteen. Now? She seriously can’t stand him. Thanks to his outrageous behavior both in public and behind closed doors, Rio has put the band’s career in jeopardy. The guys are furious, the sponsor is threatening to walk, and damage control is in full effect. To save the band’s image, the manager spins a story for the sponsor: Rio simply celebrated a little too hard after getting engaged. And the lucky fiancée? That would be Maddie—courtesy of the lead guitarist, Steven… her older brother. I’m only ten chapters in, but I can already see the train wreck coming—and I absolutely cannot look away. Maddie agrees to go along with her brother’s plan, but she’s not doing it for the band or Rio. She’s doing it for Snorty, her tiny French bulldog who completely steals the show. Honestly, Snorty might be my favorite character. I love that Rio has these sudden, completely unjustified moments of jealousy—out of nowhere—for someone who supposedly has no feelings for Maddie. Sure, Rio. Sure. Maddie, however, is painfully naïve. There were more than a few moments where I wanted to reach through the pages and give her a good shake. Rio, on the other hand, is a character I genuinely enjoyed. He’s sensitive, talented, and intelligent—and let’s be honest, not every rockstar went to Harvard. A smart, good-looking man? Always sexy. That said, while these two have known each other since Maddie was a kid, their romantic development felt rushed. They spend very little meaningful time together, and I never fully felt the emotional connection between them. On top of that, there are several loose ends by the end of the book. What exactly was the rockstar’s big secret? I’m still not entirely sure. Overall, it’s a good story with a happy ending, but it left me a bit disappointed. I’m giving this book three stars ⭐⭐⭐ and sincerely hope book two is about Keith.
Rio Wilder is a rock star. His manager is Prince Michael. His drummer is Keith James and his best friend and lead guitarist is Steven Smith. His mother died recently, and Rio has started drinking before shows to numb the pain. After a wild night on stage, the guys confront him and tell him he needs to get back on track.
To save their big Las Vegas show, his manager lied and told the sponsor that Rio drank too much champagne before the show celebrating his engagement. The problem is Rio does not have a fiancé. Steven thinks his younger sister, Maddie would be perfect to play Rio’s fiancé.
Maddie teaches autistic children at a school on the Lower East Side. Principal Walker tells Maddie that unofficially her program is being canceled at the end of the school year. Her autistic students will be bussed to a larger facility. It is part of the new administration budget cuts. Principal Walker wanted to give Maddie a heads up so she could start looking for a new job.
Maddie has had a crush on Rio for years. However, something happened four years ago between them and now she wants nothing more to do with him. Maddie agrees to go to Las Vegas to play Rio’s fiancé because she can use the money for her dog’s operation. Snorty, her French bulldog, is wheezing badly. Also, Joseph W. King will be in the same hotel at a work retreat. He left her at the altar two months ago. His best friend got him drunk the day before the wedding and convinced Joseph that he could do better than a school teacher.
I knew this would be interesting. I wanted to find out what happened between Maddie and Rio four years ago. I also wanted to find out how Maddie’s ex fiancé would react to her being with Rio. Another good story.

OK fake relationship romance. Maddie is a teacher of autistic children and needs financet for the survival of her school. Rio is a badly behaved rockstar who needs to improve his image and gain new sponsorship & a record deal. His band manager pays Maddie to pose as his fiance and improve his image. I liked that the two have history and Maddie goes some way to taming the ‘wildman’ that Rio has become. Despite her best intentions, her ex turns up and threatens to throw a spanner in the works. This is a reasonably enjoyable read, but I did find Rio annoyingly narcissistic and juvenile throughout, although he does come good in the end. Maddie is a very sweet and likeable character and a bit of a victim of the men in her life. An ok read with a decent HEA.
Rio Wilder finally went too far. The band is on the brink of success, and his drunken antics may have ruined their chances. He needs a fake engagement to the perfect girl to prove he has reformed. Enter Maddie – his best friend’s little sister. The only problem is she hates him. She wouldn’t agree if she didn’t need the money for Snorty, the cutest dog in the world. Cue the drama, angst, spice, and romance for the ultimate HEA.
The closing line of the book is one of my all-time favorites. I’d tell you what it is, but I don’t want to give away the HEA ending. I received an advance copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Maddie is asked to help boost Rio's image so they get signed to a record label. I'm glad they finally clear up an old misunderstanding. However her ex causes problems that almost cost everyone. When things come down to the wire, Rio helps Maddie and the truth about the latest misconceptions comes out clearing the air. What was fake becomes real as Maddie and Rio fall in love. I liked how Snorty steals the show and saves the day in a way. Everything works out for the band and for Maddie's kids at school.
Rio and Maddie have a past. Now she is going to help him so that his band can get signed. They are in a fake relationship but her ex causes issues. Rio and Maddie slowly become real and fall for each other.
I loved the chemistry between Rio and Maddie. Their story is another great one from this talented author. I look forward to more.

Another good one by Sass Green. My favorite genre...Rockstar. I wish that it were longer I enjoyed reading it so. The idea was not an original one, one a good one no the less. Read this book you will not be disappointed. Thank you BookSprout for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a fun, quick read. I love that the author puts the cutest puppies in her stories. Rio and Maddie were a great couple, but I felt the romance was rushed and would have liked the story to be longer with more detail. All in all, this is an awesome story. This book is Rio and Maddie's story. Rio, the rockstar needs an image adjustment. His best friend/band mates sister, a special education teacher it seems is just the ticket to improve it.
I liked this book very much especially Snorty Maddie's dog.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed this book. First, I appreciate the mention of the autism community in the story. I have a daughter that is autistic and it brings about the important topic of special attention for these kids. It had a good plot with some tension and drama. Rio and Maddie had nice banter and chemistry. The spice fit the story nicely. Overall, it was a solid read that I would recommend!
I really enjoyed reading this story. I loved the characters so much, and the storyline was very entertaining. I couldn't put it down. Y'all are gonna love it too. Happy reading.
