This collection of over sixty articles and essays about Sir Edward Elgar, published to mark the 75th anniversary of The Elgar Society, is well worth reading. The Society had previously published some of the chapters in its Journal. I took the book in easy stages and this is a convenient method, given the range of contributions. In logical groups, some are just a few pages of personal reflection; others are more substantial, academic pieces. The stand-outs for me are the essays by Scott Dickinson, Tasmin Little, Stewart Mcilwham, Janet Baker, John Bridcut, and Kevin Mitchell. But all are informative and worth reading.
