The art was fantastic — easily the highlight — but the story didn’t have the humor or heart the previous issues delivered. Still fine overall, just not as strong for me this time.

Huh? So the entire premise of this issue is teenage Trinity hunting down her second corgi, only for it to coincidentally be in the same time period in Gotham where she found the first corgi. And she finds it pretty quickly, except not finding it gives her the chance to hang out and go on patrol and talk through the night with Jason as Robin. It’s fun at times as they go from punching mad hatter, to penguin, to calender man, to kite man, to scarecrow and so on. But it also leaves me asking…why? What is the overall point to all of this? The story try’s to show us all these emotionally “sappy” moments between two people that could never be, but it really doesn’t come across that way and any genuine moments are constantly interrupted by absurdity and for two people that have barely known each other for a few hours it rips me right back to that question…why? None of it feels impactful, none of it leaves me wanting for more between these two, it’s a little bit of good press seeing Jason’s emotionally intelligent side and not just portrayed as some angry kid pushing against the machine until the day he finally dies and comes back with a vengeance or whatever and I would like to see Jason develop a lot more of this back in the present day. But still, what was the point of any of this? Are they just setting the ground work for a present day relationship that was born in the past? I highly doubt it, for starters Trinity hasn’t dated Dick so DC writers would dare have Jason date her, lol. Also all the timelines are screwy with this character anyway you look at it, it’s just so off putting all together, idk.

I just don't get it. The main Wonder Woman book currently is downright terrible, with plenty of out-of-character moments for Wonder Woman, but this book remains delightfully fun and endearing. And both are written by Tom King, like I said, I don't get it. This single issue of Trinity made her more relatable than any of her depictions in the main title of Wonder Woman. The relationship she had with Jason Todd really affected her, to the point that she didn't want to go back to being alone again. That final moment in this issue was just so well written. Seriously, where is that logical character writing in the main book? Not only was the character writing on point, but this issue also was really damn funny. The fight between Robin and Scarecrow especially, where Trinity burst out laughing every time at the "Boy Wonder" nickname. It's just so infectious, the joy this comic exudes.

Sweet and funny. I burst out laughing at Mad Hatter. And again with Scarecrow. But poor Lizzie. Love that can never be is worse than unrequited love. And she knows what's going to happen, so it's even more heartbreaking. Also, Super Corgi is such a good boy!

Incredibly sweet, heartwarming, and touching. King nails it with this one. I am so sad that the next issue is the last. Ortega's facial expressions drive home the emotions from humor to sorrow.

A sweet story reminiscent of old romance comics and more or less a YA book. Not a comic type I typically read but done very well!
