Jonathan Chapel was just a scrawny kid living in a rough neighborhood, trying to keep his sisters safe and fed. When someone takes an unhealthy interest in one of those sisters, Jon is faced with a dilemma. When the local cops work hand in hand with the criminals, and regular folks must hide in terror from the gangs, Jon is forced to take matters into his own hands. This sets off an unlikely chain of events resulting in Jon being recruited into serving the very organization he was trying to fight. The offer is unspoken but join us or die. What follows is a baptism in fire, where only his quick reflexes and a superior intellect manage to keep Jon in the fight. Really well developed characters. Good story and not a ton of profanity. I see real parallels to what's really going on in today's American.
