Another stellar novel by one of my favorites, London Clarke. This time, I actually cried in a few places while reading it. Giving nothing away, I’ve had experience with a close family member on a main topic in this novel. London has a way of digging beneath the surface and educating her audience, as well as keeping them enthralled in “what’s going to happen next”. I love that she imbues her characters with real-world flaws – sometimes heartfelt, often times, gritty. Real life isn’t all romance and pretty packages. We all have scars. The fact that she can make her characters still likeable speaks volumes about her talent. Eden and Drew made a fantastic duo, I love stories set in places I’ve visited (the Carolina’s, Beaufort), and I’m proud to have been a member of London’s ARC team.
