There’s a fine line between love and hate And they were about to cross it. My name is Samantha Ross and this is my life. I existed in a world that few know. Rundown trailers and crime-ridden streets were my home. Drugs and alcohol were the norm and happiness was the exception. I lived from day to day never knowing if I would have a roof over my head or food in my stomach. My life sucked. It took from me and gave nothing back. But there was one certainty in my life. A black smudge on my window of hell. Cole Walker. He was a criminal. A thief. He brought hell and damnation with him wherever he went. He hurt and destroyed. He took and gave nothing in return. He was heartache and despair wrapped up in a perfect gorgeous package. Fast cars and fast women were his hobbies. His vices. But he had many. I was one of them. I was his addiction and his craving. His enemy on this earth. I feared him. I hated him. I loved him even more. He would either be my destruction or my salvation… Maybe even both.

Cole Walker, you can be my new Travis Maddox.

Every once in a while I stumble upon books that have exactly what I need - epic love story, bad boys, fast cars, true connection between main characters, just enough drama and angst and this amazing feeling that fills my heart after I finished reading. Sweet Destruction was perfect.
Don't even let me start with how hot all scenes in the car were. (Yeah, I have thing for a boys driving fast cars!)

description

***Story***

Page Weaver plays the safe card when it comes to this - you have a three kids living in a bad neighborhood, dealing with things they shouldn't, parents who are so messed up that they can't even take care for themselves, let alone their kids. A lot of rage, drug abuse, bad choices. Overprotective brother and a good girl (I said "good" not "naive"). Best friend who will do anything to protect them. Perfect recipe for melodrama, right? This book could easily turn out to be a big miss - not everyone can write story like this - but it walks on that fine line. Maybe a little bit over the top at the times, maybe a little bit like a fairy tale - non of those spoiling how amazing it is in the end.

***Cole Walker***

description

Yes, he is a mess. Yes, he makes a lot bad decisions. Bad boy? Damn yes. But when it comes to the things that are important and people he loves? He's the kind of a guy you'd love to have by your side. There were few things that really bothered me, like his . On the other hand, he is not a douchebag who treats a girl like a dirt. I absolutely adored his interaction with Sam. There is no insta-love, they know each other their whole lives. He is one person other than her brother that will do everything to protect her. And he does just that.

***Samantha Ross***

description

I don't have much patience for whiny, naive female characters that are so popular in new adult novels. Thank you God, Sam was not one of them. She is a good girl, but still very aware of the world she lives in and people surrounding her. She feels attracted to Walker, but she doesn't let him boss her around. Biggest plus for me - she does not act stupid when she needs to be smart.

***In the end...***

Dear Paige Weaver,

Please write Bent's story! Please.....
Thank you! <3

I really enjoyed this but I have to say, I'm betting a lot of people are divided.

Cole Walker is an alcoholic, ex car stealing sex addict who hates with a passion his best friends sister Sam. The three of them met when he saved her ten year old self from a dirty cop paedo, who also happened to be fucking her drugged out mum. The three of them lived in a trailer park, with the two boys taking care of young Sam.

When a misunderstanding takes place after Walker is sent to Juvie, him and Sam end up the best of enemies.

The first half of the book is them fighting both eachother, and the intense attraction they both feel. I would describe this book as new adult, and whilst I enjoyed it, I can see why you might get bored/annoyed with the back and forth between him thinking he's not good enough, to hating her, to making out with her.

Also, these two constantly referred to their assess (arses) as bottoms.....I mean come on, are they 5?

In summary, it kept me entertained and there was plenty of steam. If Paige Weaver decides to write a book for Bentley, I'd definitely read it.

...Actually it's 4,5 stars for me...

Oh, God!!! That was surprisingly good!!!
It was so damn hot!!! Screwed but amazingly hot!!!

Whoa!!! It rocked my world....

This book was having a bit of everything....
Ghettos, illegal street races, illegal stuff generally, prison, gangs...
Addictions, drinking and high parents, fightings, much hatress
and in the middle of all that was three fucked up children...
Two boys and a girl...
And that kids was been raised up in pain and confussion...
But i will stand only at the two of them.
A boy and a girl....

Cole Walker: Oh man!!! This is the name of lust, trouble and seduction! And above them all... Destruction!
This guy is capable of anything and he fears nothing except one thing...
The only thing that lead him to the path of the destruction!!!!

Samantha Ross: She's good and innocent. She knows how to fight and stand up to her feet and she's so dangerously... sweet!
She has a lot of problems but the biggest of them is...him!
He is her worst enemy and the only man that make her heart throb loudly.
It's so hard to resist him...

When these two guys meet each other???
Bang!!! We have a totally...
!SWEET DESTRUCTION!

They thought that hate ruled their heart for so many years
and now they are confused about the feelings that tearing them apart.
It's pure lust or something else???
Something much difficult to recognise and accept it???

Cole thinks himself incapable for love, he thinks that his heart and soul are black and that he has nothing good to offer to anybody, especially to her...

"I'm staying because you're in my blood, Sam, and i can't get rid of you. I've tried but i'm addicted. I've been addicted for years,
i just couldn't admit it... I want you and i hate it. So get out of my head, Sam, and get out of my heart."

From the other hand, Sam always felt something strong for Cole but she mixed it for hate.
She was afraid of his power on her and she was determined not to aloud him to get inside her heart...

"I had let him touch me. Put his fingers near me.
But more importanly, i had let my heart open just a fraction,
letting the man i thought i hated in.
That might have been the sturidest thing i had ever done..."

And after all that, i have to reffair to Bent... He was awesome!!!
But we needed a little more of him...

Really guys, i reccomend you that book, especially if you are from those that liked "Fast and the Furious" movies!!!

I liked that story so much!!!! Yeah!!!

Cole Walker or better known as just "Walker"......

Is a badass!!!!!! That's right I said it badass!!!!

He is protective of 3 things Samantha "Sam," Bentley and himself! They all grew up in the slums...with parental figures who could careless about anyone but themselves. Sam and Bentley are siblings and they meet Walker when they are preteens and it's ON from there!

Samantha "Sam" is determined to overcome the future that precedes her....

If that means hating Walker then so be it because she refuses to get stuck in this life!!!

But does she REALLY HATE HIM?

Hummmmmmm......

What female with a vagina could hate that man.....good lord!!! I'm sucker for a bad boy so let me recap the reason's why!!!!!

*Drop dead gorgeous
*Badass
*Fighter
*Illegal street car racer
*Devil doesn't care attitude
*Loyal to those he loves
*Player....that's right a ladies man
*6'5
*Filthy mouth

Ok I'm done because by asterisk #4 or #5 I would be putty in his hands!!!!

YUP!!!! She wants to hate but it's a delusion she needs to overcome!!! Does she overcome it?

Well I don't know....read it and FIND OUT!!!

Walker has been connected in other reviews as being the new "Travis Maddox" I will say that his filthy mouth is way better than Travis' but damn I read Travis first so he holds my heart:). But good LAWD I LOVED everything that came out of Walker's mouth!!!

Moving on....this is a QUICK QUICK read because once you start it's difficult to stop. It moves fast with a lot of dialogue...which I LOVE!!

So ending this if you liked Beautiful Disaster I think you would enjoy this book:)

I REALLY like this book.
I loved that it was so real.

I mean yes we all love our bikers and billionairs and ex-army men etc.

But you know what? not everyone is rich, and not every girl that is dirt poor is going to find a rich guy to make it all better.

This book was about 2 poor people, trying to do the best they could in the world they lived in.

Sam is a hmm I wouldn't say emo or goth. More a pin up style type of chick.
She works in a diner and looks after her junkie Mom.

Walker works in construction.
and Drinks.. a lot...

They live 2 trailers down from each other most of their lives.
That was when Cole Walker wasn't boosting cars or serving time in Juvie.

They used to be close. As Cole was Sam's brothers, Bentley's best friend.
But something happened years ago.
Something that turned that friendship to hate.
there was no coming back from that.

Until Bentley gets in trouble.
Trouble that threatens Sam and he asks Cole to look out for her.

........................

I'm gunna leave it there so you get the gist of it and want to find out what/how/who/when of the book yourself.

As started before I love how real it was. I have never read a Paige Weaver book before. Her writing style had me hooked and feeling from the first page. I love when a book is written in joint POV.
I just love knowing that they are both thinking at an event of time.
Cole tried to be badass... but he just wasn't. I mean yes he had a temper.
However when you saw things from his POV you were like aaawww that was sweet!

The reason that there is 4 stars instead of 5.. for me it was the "climax" I still have questions about what went down and didn't really get the answers I wanted. Maybe she left it open for a book 2. Or maybe that's just the way it was and I'm being a fussy bitch.

Either way I saw yes, do give this a book when you want. Real. Raw and Romance! Ok so I lied.. there isn't REALLY any romance. Just a super hot and bossy ex con who doesn't really have a romantic bone in his body, but has great intentions!

Samantha has grown up under the constant watch of her older brother Bentley, and his best friend, Cole. As children, the three are inseparable until Samantha betrays Cole in a moment of fear, forever altering the course of his life and the dynamics of their relationship. A bitter rivalry between the two ensues over the course of their teenage years and into young adulthood. Yet, despite the animosity on the surface, both of them harbor love for the other that neither of them are willing to acknowledge. Eventually, they are unable to fight the inevitable.

Samantha seemed pretty ungrateful of Cole and that irked me. He was constantly defending her, despite their rivalry, placing her safety above his own. Not only did she lack appreciation, she had the nerve to put him down!

Cole had his issues as well. Drinking, promiscuity, violence, you name it. He was a bad boy through and through.

I enjoyed this story, but it was just good...not great. It was a nice, easy read that was entertaining, but lacked that extra something that takes a story to the next level. In all fairness, I've just finished some outstanding books recently, so the bar was set kind of high.

3.5 Stars rounded up.

This was surely not a fluffy and light read..

The theme and the setting were depressing and sad since both MCs grew up in trailers, in a very bad neighborhood and constantly surrounded by drugs and alcohol.. But in the end it wasn't too depressing or dark..

So Samantha aka Sam lives with her big brother Bentley and their piece of crap mother together in a trailer. Cole Walker is living with his dad next door. Cole is also the best friend of Sam's brother since childhood.

Since their neighborhood wasn't the best, both boys got involved in criminal things very early. Of course they didn't steal for fun.. Most of the time they stole to survive because their parents absolutely didn't care about them.

The three of them went through a lot in their childhoods and some of the events caused that Sam and Cole became enemies. But as we all know

The first 50% were really a back and forth between the MCs. Both of them claimed to hate each other but they also fantasized about each other. And of course Cole believed that he wasn't good enough for Sam anyway.

They needed quit some time to sort their feelings out.
I enjoyed the 2nd half a lot more.. Things got thrilling and also hot.. Really loved the twist in the end.. And it just leaves me with one question..
Will Bentley get his own book?

Please?

3.5 - Destructing Stars-

Samantha Ross has one enemy in this world and its her brother Bentley's BFF, Cole Walker.

hate photo tumblr_lx309uGyIX1r23tzz_zpsab8c4310.gif

She has had a love hate relationship with him for quite some time. She secretly wants him though. Bentley has given the strict hands off to any person touching Sam, including Walker, leaving Sam's precious virginity still in tact.

They have all hung out together since they were kids considering they come from a shitty background. Cole's dad was a drunk after his mom passed, Sam and Bent's mom is a drugged out slutbag.

Anyways, things have happened over the years to make them both have an equal dislike for each other.

move on photo 5kai_zps26cbb962.gif

Sam is hell bent on not winding up like her mom so she tries to stay away from Walker.

But you know she can only hold out for so long.

SEX photo tumblr_mvmrdyDV4F1s9qkbuo1_500_zps2b0dc2c6.gif

But then we have the dirty cop and bad guy Pam Man who wants to mess up things for everyone.

Can Walker save Sam yet again or will it cost him?

My Final Thoughts
Overall this one was ok but I felt I needed a little more since the first part I was a little bored. They went to a ton of parties and constantly talked about how much they hated each other. The ending was somewhat rushed and we needed more relationship development. It was like I hate you/let's have sex/ now I love you.

This book was really good!

I loved Sam. She was so brave, and smart and good, considering the environment and circumstances she grew up in. And I loved Ben!

I loved Cole the most, of course! *giggles like a fool* I just love, love bad boys! Can't help myself!

“I had seen what love could do to a man and it wasn’t pretty. My father was a perfect example. He was dead inside, had been since my mom died. Love did that to him. It created and destroyed. It was nothing but destruction wrapped up in a pretty little package, waiting to explode in someone’s face. It made monsters out of men and turned burning hearts cold.”

That's Cole. He doesn't want to allow himself to love, so he pretends to hate instead.

“I needed to be able to reassure myself that the hate still lived between us. That it still simmered and sparked, keeping us apart. Because if it didn’t all bets were off.”

And once the bets were off... Wow!

This:

turns into this:

And goes on and on and on, mixed with angst and some serious action toward the end.

I think Paige Weaver managed to make her book feel raw, gritty, dark and real (oh, and sexy) while playing with elements of fairytale (dark and twisted fairytale to be precise) as well as (unfortunately) throwing some far-fetched moments here and there. There was some repetitiveness (hence the slow down in the storyline around the middle), but all together, it worked well for me.

Love, loved it!

This was one hell of a ride ...
Dark and a little depressed story ...
But I like it a lot ...
Walter and Samantha ... they lived a poor life, they parents have neglected them ... they had to grow up fast ... stealing and
addiction were their daily life ...
Friends as a kids, then hate/love relationship ...

"And I did hate her. I hated the way she made me feel. How she smelled, how she walked, how she smiled with her eyes. I hated that I would do anything for her."

It took them too long to acknowledge their feelings ...

I was happy for them at the end, they deserved a better life and happiness ...

"Something had filled my heart that I had never experienced before... It was happiness. For the first time in my life, I was happy."

This one caused me a lot of mini headaches, I mean seriously! It was like watching two 6 year olds fighting over a toy throughout the whole book.

I'm scared my eyes will get stuck in the midst of an eye roll! The drama I mean come the eff on, already!

So one day in Trailer Park, Cole(hero) saves Sam (heroine) from getting assaulted by her mommy's pimp. That build the foundation of the three musketeers. Cole and Sam's brother Brent are bff's, Sam is in her own stuck up world not liking Sam too much even though she had no reasons to be a bish towards him at all. Hate is also a very strong word. So this is how the 3 trailer trash kids communicated:

Everytime Sam got in trouble, Cole ran in on his white horse and either helped or saved her.

Sam is an ungreatful bish that doesn't deserve sh*t!

5 BIG STARS!
(but if I could give more stars,I would)

This was one hard and dark book!
It was one huge rollercoaster of emotions, from crazy rage, possessive lust, true frendship, fast cars, blood, fighting and epic love...and I loved every page of it!
This book have right amount of everything that makes good book real good!
Lovable characters, real kind of emotions and most important, that somethin' somethin' that get my panties soaking wet while reading it...

description

This is a story about two broken people. Bad boy Cole Walker and Samantha 'Sam' Ross. They know each other almost whole of their lives and had tough life in trailer park, but in the end they survied!
They have messed up parents who drink themseles into oblivion, and last on their mind is children who had to learned how to take care fore themselves.

description

First and most important thing in this book is hero/bad boy on steroids Cole freakin' Walker!
See,I can't really explain how, but he's just my ideal boyfriend!
I just love them when they are hard, sexy, possessive as hell, protecttive of what's his and when they fight for girl with everything they have!
Cole loved Sam as long as he remember...and he's ready to fight for her, even go to jail, just so she can be safe.
I told you, so...perfect!

description

I loved their intense love-hate ralationship, and most important- there's no insta love!!! Thank God for small favors!
There were parts where Sam was anoying and I wanted to slap her cuz she was acting like kid, doing on her own...but in the end I loved how them work together.

3 stars

I feel like an ass for giving it only three stars. I know a lot of the reviews said great things and it makes me wonder if I read the same book.
It was an okay read I guess, just didn't find anything spectacular. The problem wasn't the story as much as the characters. Sam and Walker hate each other. The reason? Sam sent Walker to jail. Then, after he gets out, he's mean to Sam and she's blaming him for the bad things in her life. Honestly, the reasons didn't seem valid to me. Walker saved Sam from being raped and has been helping her older brother since they were kids. He provided and took care of her when no one else would. I don't see what's to hate here.
Of course, Walker isn't a saint either. He's a drunk, thief, man-whore, ex-convict, you name it. He's what most would say the typical "alpha male." I didn't see him like that, at all. I thought he was annoyingly arrogant and a lot stupid.
But because this is a romance there has to be some sugar somewhere. Here is where I skipped some of it. One minute Sam and walker would say "I hate you" and the next they're making out. It sounds better than it really was. There was no emotion into it, only lust and even that wasn't great. I thought eventually they'd change and finally have some real romance. It never happened. At the end of the last chapter, they both said I love you and that was that. It felt so rushed out, I wondered if the author was trying to finish quickly. The Epilogue wasn't wasn't any better, short and nothing special. A big let down.
In all, it wasn't a bad story and if you can warmed up to the characters then you'd probably enjoy the story more than I did.

4 road rash stars

Sam Ross, and her brother Bentley, had grown up in desolation. With an absent father and a multi addicted mother, it was them against their cruel world.

When Bent teamed up with a best friend, Cole Walker, Sam found it difficult not to blame him for the trouble and life he slowly lured Bent into.

Walker was the archetypal bad boy, with overbearing presence and bottomless dark eyes. His irritation with Sam had been apparent from their initial meeting. But there's a thin line surrounding their strong, negative emotions between each other, and we watch that line get severely twanged.

My first read from this author, this was a tough, gritty read, but filled with that eternal light at the end. I loved Cole and his brash, passionate ways. Sam was a street wise, trailer urchin, who had managed to become the tough beauty her past belied.

I thought the alternating POV's between Sam and Walker greatly enhanced my connection to these characters, my only criticism being that I would have liked Bent to have a go!

Ladies, ecco a voi Cole Walker . . .

Ooooh baby, you rock ;)

Reggetevi forte, perché su GR ho notato che ho scritto sei stati durante la lettura, e ho scoperto che la maggior parte sono quotes! So, enjoy ♥

«Attenta, tesoro. Io mordo».

«Ti voglio, Sam. Voglio possederti. Consumarti. Voglio mettermi in ginocchio e supplicarti per tutto. E voglio scoparti. Dio, se voglio scoparti. Invece devo continuare a odiarti».

«Ti voglio fuori da questa casa e fuori dal tuo letto. Non sai cosa cazzo mi stai facendo. Sto combattendo contro il bisogno di abbassarti quei micro shorts e prenderti in questo preciso istante, cazzo. proprio qui, sul maledettissimo pavimento».

VOGLIO RILEGGERLO!

*2.5 STARS*

My thoughts during reading:

At 20% - Okay, this is not so bad actually. I like the flashbacks and the fact that the author introduced us with the reason why they (Sam and Walker) hate each other.
50-70% - (After they got together) This book has no plot! Now all they do is have sex.
Last 15% - The big twist, resolution and HEA.
Epilogue – CHEESY!

So, I really liked the beginning, there’s nothing better that a good love/hate banter, but it went downhill for me after MCs got together because it went to cheesyland. Middle part of the book is quite weaker and I don’t like the fact that everything is resolved in the last 15%. Too much, too fast, I’d say. Furthermore, why did the author have to romanticize male MC (Walker)?
Proof:
“Hurt her and I’ll kill you.”

“If I hurt her, Bent, I’ll hand you the damn weapon because I don’t want to live knowing I hurt her.”

Oh get real! Can it get more cheesy than that?
Oh yes it can, because they start talking about kids very soon.
Whoa! I say, hold on – kids! Sometimes, you just want to read a sick love story and there's nothing wrong with that. This book is wrong selling it as good. (If that makes any sense.)

In conclusion, despite my ranting, this was not all bad, and if you can accept this as a piece of escapist writing that it is, you might enjoy it.

There is a thin line between love and hate.
...and this book is all about it:

-You're so damn hot!
- Aghhh, I hate your ghuts!
- I love you!
- I don't want to see you!
- You're the pretiest girl ever.
- You are monster!
- You're sex on the stick!
- Go get a help for your drinking and rage issues.
- I wanna fuck you six ways till sunday.
- Do you know that I hate you?
- I want to marry you and have your children...
- I love him, I hate him, love, hate, love...

Oh, for God's sake, make up your mind!

This book destroyed me and there wasn`t anything sweet about it!

What kept me reading... it was Walker he is one of the most intense heroes I ever read. Lately I am lucky and get a lot of these guys so he didn`t disappoint.

What I absolutely hated in this book is the slow pace in the beginning and by beginning I mean the first 60%. There was too many inner monologues and too little dialogues. I am sorry but after the 40% mark I started skipping and I absolutely NEVER skip through a book. Sweet destruction popped my skipping thru a book cherry.
description
Great book title though! And the cover... I love roses! So I started skipping so much that when the interesting part came I had to tell my thumb to stop because there was something that I wanted to read. And yes things get better. This book was building too much the story in the first half but the second was getting better and better by the page.

As I was saying Walker was demanding my attention and he didn`t allow me to leave the book. Crazy, right?
description
The story is about 3 kids on the wrong side of the track so to speak. I also think that I`ve never read a book with both main characters having abusive homes and that got to me because in other cases there is hope represented in the character from the good part of the town. Here there wasn`t hope just misery, fear and no dreams. And I really hate it when I get why the characters are the way they are.

" Bad things happen to good people. Life`s not a comedy or about two people dancing in the rain. It`s raw and gritty and dirty. That`s why I like horror movies. Because sometimes the monsters are real."

The main characters are hating each other and they don`t know any better but they are so in love. You see they don`t know the meaning of love they know how to hate, what to do to survive how to hide and how to run but not how to love. It`s really twisted because the abuse in Walker life came from the great love of his father. Walker`s mother dies of cancer and after that his father can`t recover and checks out...his coping is drowning in a bottle and that never ends well. Thru the years Walker does everything in his power to protect Sam. No that`s not love... he is incapable of it, remember!

This isn't your usual fall for brothers best friend fairy tale it's rough, gritty and a great love/hate story

Samantha Ross and her brother Bentley are brought up in a rough neighbourhood, with a junkie mum and absent father. At the age of 10 she meets the bad boy that becomes her bothers best friend and the man that will change her life forever. The only problem is that they hate each other.

Cole Walker is broken, wild and the ultimate bad boy. He has a record as long as your arm and buries his troubles in the bottom of a bottle. Walker has a fierce need to protect the only girl who ever made him feel, but is it love or hate that runs through his veins when it come to Samantha Ross.

This story really kept me hooked in and is a first for me from this author, there were times when I wanted to scream at Walker to get his act together and stop playing the fool, Sam loved him regardless of his Faults and flaws, but without the drama there wouldn't be a story would there!!

I'm really hoping we get a story from Bentley as he was a great supporting character.

I looove the cover and the blurb sounds great!!!

5 Monster Stars

So this is me when I got the new Paige Weaver ARC

This is me while I was reading it

Yes....Assaulted. That was me. I was assaulted by this book. It takes you down. Sucks you in. Makes you care. And afraid. And feeling like you have been in a Monster Dodge Ball Game. Beat up. Battered. Worn out in the best way.

Samantha has not had the best of life. At All. Her mother is a druggie who has left Sam and her brother, Bentley to fend for themselves for most of their life. They have been hungry, scared, and dirty far more than they care to remember. Now Samantha is 19. She is still hungry and scared a lot of the time. She still must keep her wits about her. Her home is not a safe place to be.

Walker and I were both lost, roaming this godforsaken world with nothing but each other and Bentley. Neither of us was capable of love...we were going nowhere.

Cole Walker grew up down the street from Sam and Bent. He also grew up in without a loving family. His mom died devastating his father. He learned at an early age that love can destroy a person.

We weren't good together and we weren't good apart. Two wrongs didn't make a right and we were both wrong for each other.

Cole and Bent did what they had to do to survive. They would have done almost anything illegal or immoral to protect Samantha.

My point is I'm still the monster you once accused me of being.

Cole wants Samantha but knows he is not good enough for her. But where is she going to meet anyone to take her away from the broken down trailer she calls home? There are many bad influences. Some much worse than others.

The story takes you on a ride. One that you willingly go on. Hiding your eyes behind your fingers. There are dirty cops, gang fights, rainy nights, stolen cars, moms who OD, and the super sexy Cole. Cole who drinks, smokes, cusses, steals, and screws too much. And oh how you love him. Like seriously love him.

I'm staying because you're in my blood, Sam, and I can't get rid of you. I've tried but I'm addicted. I've been addicted for years.

I loved both of Paige Weaver's previous books. They were good and very different from what was out there. This one takes it to the next level. I was highlighting at least once every other page. You will want more Sam, Cole and Bent. I really hope we get more of Bent.

You will love this gritty, realistic book that challenges what you will do for love. For safety. To protect those you love. Even those you love to hate.

Sweet Destruction tells the story of Samantha Ross and Cole Walker.

Cole Walker did remind me of Paul Walker from Fast and Furious.

He drag races and is an all around bad guy and is best friends with Sam's older brother Bent (who I really like)

They all live in a trailer park. Walker with his drunken father, his mother died years before from cancer and Sam and Bent live in another trailer with their drug/alcohol addicted mother. There father left them to move to Mexico. Don't know why.

So for most of the story and a few flashbacks in the beginning Sam and Walker hate each other. Kind of for no reason but has miscommunication and is mostly for someone to blame.

You can see how the hate kind of turns to interest then love.

Though around the 70% mark I skimmed. I just wanted it to be over. Not that it wasn't good but I was done with it.

There was conflict with Sam's mom's past boyfriend who is a cop and Bent.

But I didn't really care and the one thing that bothered me was in the epilogue it said that her mom cleaned herself up and was going to rehab because she hit "rock bottom".

I don't believe that because I'm pretty sure through out the book and previous to that she has hit rock bottom. But hey I've never been in a situation like that so how would I know?

So, I leave you with this.

I couldn't stay interested in this one. It was walking that fine line between enough misery to keep you interested and just plain miserable, and at 59% just plain miserable was holding strong.

And Walker . . . I get that you think you aren't good enough for Sam. I got it the first time, I got it the second and third times, and the multitude of other times . . . got it then too--FYI.

4 - 4.5 STARS

Bad things happen to good people. Life’s not a comedy or about two people dancing in the rain. It’s raw and gritty and dirty.

This author, new to me, impressed me in a good way with this fantastic book. From the storyline to the writing, this book was such a great read. A dark, gritty read, Sweet Destruction is a story about loss, survival and love. Is a story about two people who don’t know what it is like to love and be loved. The setting of the story is maybe a disturbing one, but very helpful for a better understanding of the story and characters.

description

Everything changed for Samantha Ross (Sam) when her father abandons his family, Sam , her brother Bentley and their mother. In order to cope her mother started drinking and taking pills, soon caring only for drugs , alcohol and sex. Forced to grow up before their time in a dangerous neighborhood, surrounded by alcohol, drugs , poverty and corruption Sam and Bentley had a hard life, but Sam’s life is about to change when Cole Walker moves down the street.

The boy would be my destruction and my savior. He would challenge me. Keep me sane and drive me crazy. He would destroy me and save me.

After his mother dies, Cole Walker is forced to lose his other parent, but in a different way. His father can’t get over his wife death and becomes a mean, violent drunk. When he is 11 years old, Cole moves with his father in a trailer near Sam’s. From the moment when Cole helps Sam in a situation, he becomes friends with both Sam and Bentley. Everything changed when Sam is 13 and Cole 15, something that turns their friendship to hate, until Bentley gets in trouble.
Now Sam is 19 and Cole 21. They hate each other. But There’s a fine line between love and hate and they were about to cross it.

description

Sometimes the plot is the most important, interesting in a book. Here is not the case, because the characters are everything in this story. I was amazed by characters development. The author did a fantastic job not only with the MC, but the side characters too.

Sam is a fantastic heroine. She becomes very mature from an early age, she is a smart girl and she knows how things are and works in the ghetto. She knows what her mother became and that’s way she’s still a virgin at 19. She will do anything not to become like her mother. She is determined to become someone but now she is forced by circumstances to work in a dinner to provide for her family. With a “I don’t give a shit personality” she’s a wise girl dating Lucas, a boy who is save for her. She hates Cole Walker and what he is, what he became, but is not a hate, “hate”.

I hated him. I really did. (…)When I was around Walker, I felt hate so deep I wanted to scream.

Even if he had seen the inside of juvie more than once, making jail his second home, Cole Walker is a hero in every way that matters in this story. Growing up without a loving mother and a disinterested, abusive father wasn’t easy. He is pressured to become a adult when he is only a child and he does anything to survive in a world where murder, gangs and drug dealings are the norm. He is drown to Sam from an early age and he does anything to give her a better life. He steals , fights and for her he is capable to murder anybody who hurts her. He knows two things - what he is and became and that he hates Samantha Ross.

And I did hate her. I hated the way she made me feel. How she smelled, how she walked, how she smiled with her eyes. I hated that I would do anything for her…

Cole wants Samantha for him, he has a weakness for her, he crave her. He is an addict and his addiction is Sam. He had seen what love can do, what destructive can be and he can’t be Sam destruction. He wants for her to hate him and he feeds the hate. He thinks he doesn’t need her because she is the only one who can make him feel.

Sam was the one I seemed consumed by. The one I wanted but couldn’t have.

He tries to stay away from her, he knows he is not good enough for her, but he wants her too much.

description

I want you, Sam. I want to own you. Consume you. I want to drop to my knees and beg you for everything. And I want to fuck you. God, do I want to fuck you. But, I have to go on hating you instead.

Sam knows Cole is trouble...

It didn’t matter if my body and heart screamed that we belonged together; my mind said to stay away from him.

...but like Cole she surrenders

Walker was still destruction in a perfect package. But that destruction had just turned sweeter.

From the moment I’ve read the blurb I was intrigued… a story with a line between love and hate, a criminal hero, a beautiful addiction… I was captivated from the first chapter by the fluid and flawless writing and readers will get a real picture of the crime ridden streets.

The premise and the plot line in this story are absolutely intriguing. I really like how things work out in the end. The first half of the book fallows the main characters past, they relationship as enemies and the second their relation as lovers. I liked the glimpses of past, they helped a lot to understand the actual relation between MC.

The main characters are so good developed in this story. They are fantastic!
Sam is such a great heroine. I admire her a lot, her strength, her determination, her love for her brother and even for her mother. Cole is a bad boy, but a sweet one. His love for Sam is beautiful, amazing. I love how determined is to protect Sam for everything ugly in life.
Love the dynamic, the connection between main characters. The sex scenes are hot and their love in the end was intense and consuming.
I love the alternating POV and I think was necessarily and interesting to get into both Sam and Cole minds.

There’s an epilogue, too, to tell how things work out. And they work out so good for Sam and Cole.

With some turns and a great twist in the end, Sweet Seduction is a fantastic read.

In their dark depths, I could see him. Not the monster. Not the beast. Not the little kid that had been lost. Just Cole Walker. - Sam

Something had filled my heart that I had never experienced before.(…) It was happiness. For the first time in my life, I was happy. - Cole

Sweet destruction was a solid read. There really wasn't anything sweet about it for the first half of the book. The author goes into great detail about the life that Sam, her brother Bentley and his best friend Walker were dealt. It was so terrible and unbelievable that any child should have to experience what the three of them did.

There is a lot of back and forth between the MC's, Sam and Walker for a good part of the book. Sam's brother is very protective of her as he plays the role of guardian with the help of Walker. Sam and Walker hate one another or so we are meant to believe... At about the 50% mark, things change for Walker and Sam and the story really takes off from there. I really enjoyed the book, the writing was amazing and descriptive and I was able to really get a feel for how the MC's lived. I was depressed for part of this book, but I'm glad to say that by the end of the book my mood changed! Sam is a survivor and I love her and Walker together, but I must also say that Bentley was a favorite of mine! There was some serious steam in the latter part of this book and it had it's share of angsty moments as well. This is definitely a must read!

I'm not having much luck in picking books lately because this one was a disappointment! It was less than 400 pages but seemed to drag on forever. I'd read for awhile, then take a break, then (sigh...) give it another go. A huge portion of the story seemed to be made up of Samantha and Cole thinking about how much they hated each other. I mean really, I only have to read about it a few times before I get it! If the author had pared down all the "I hate him/I hate her!" parts it probably would have knocked off 100 pages, which would have been a good thing. Another 50 pages could have been shaved off if we hadn't had to keep reading about how horrible Cole thought he was, how he didn't deserve Sam, how he couldn't offer her anything, how he HATED her but HATED the thought of her with anyone else and how she deserved someone better, blah blah blah. Yes, it's true that the delete key can be your FRIEND!!!
There was a story buried in between the love/hate fest but there wasn't a whole lot to it. It was enough to keep me reading but I did spend a lot of time checking the percentage completed at the bottom of my screen.
