Kiss Me Kate is book six in The English Brothers series by Katy Regnery. This is such a unique story of two star-crossed teenagers, deeply in love but torn apart by their feuding families, only to reunite twelve years later and try to unravel the secrets that have been kept hidden all these years.

Kathryn Grey English, or Kate, was fifteen years old and was spending spring break with her cousins, the English family, when she first met Etienne. The week was a magical time of firsts for Kate and Etienne. They vowed their love would survive the distance between them once their time together ended and they made plans for their futures, a life they planned to share. But a series of unfortunate events and two families with anger and grudges between them tore them apart.

 photo 160014101_zpsxr9okmhz.jpg

Etienne Rousseau had come from France as a young boy so as he learned to adjust to life in America, he kept to himself, giving the impression that he was a brooding bad boy type. The night he first met Kate, when their hands touched, he knew she was different than any other girl he had ever met, that she was special.

“He felt something. It slammed into him like a freight train-like destiny, like grace-and even at fifteen-stupid-years old, Etienne knew it mattered.”

 photo ec3cae230ab548947d1c90a9e74713da_zpsourexglz.jpg

Now its twelve years later. Etienne has just gotten out of a bad five year relationship and is thrilled to be free. Kate is working as a lawyer for her cousins’ business, English & Co. Her cousins have entered into a very lucrative deal with Etienne and his brother’s company and Kate is needed to work as lead lawyer. This will force her to face Etienne for the first time since they parted twelve years ago. Both Etienne and Kate have never gotten over each other but both also harbor deep hurt thinking the other abandoned them. Can they face each other as adults and accomplish their business objectives? Or will their hearts get in the way?

“Did he want her? Like air or water. Could he have her? Absolutely not.”

 photo 13076707_zpspqtifgid.gif

As they are forced to travel to New Orleans to hammer out the legalities of the business deal, they are also given the opportunity to finally hash out what really happened twelve years ago and to admit the feelings between them that have remained strong after all these years. Their separation was the product of two families that hated each other and did all they could to keep them apart. I loved that each time a new piece of information was unveiled, Kate always looked deeper, never taking anything at face value. Perhaps it is the lawyer in her but if her cousins had only possessed the same ability all those years ago, then maybe none of the reasons they were kept apart would have been an issue.

This was such a wonderful book and as you get to know Kate and Etienne, you get to know them both as the adults they are now and also as fifteen year olds falling in love for the first time as we switch back and forth between then and now. So much happened, so much mis-information, that tore them apart. But true love found it’s way back as they are brought back together and given another chance at happiness.

“His Kate. His love. His heart. His first. His only.”

'Tis better to have loved and lost: Than never to have loved at all.
...It is even better to find your lost love again and remember all the reasons you fell so hard the first time.
"Can you fall in love with someone when you're fifteen and pick up years later?" she whispered.

"I hope so," he said softly, his lips moving against her skin. "Let's find out."
Yet another gorgeous Romance from Katy Regnery...

I'll admit I was a little worried when I started this book. We had five beautiful books in this series which told how each and every English Brother found love. All of the brothers were wildly different, but they had several things in common:

When they fall in love, they do it deeply,
They're each committed to the English Family,
The Brothers are protective, and honorable,

And they HATE Étienne Rousseau for breaking their cousin's heart when they were teenagers...

It was so incredibly easy get on board with the English brothers in defending the lovely young Kate against the philandering asshole Étienne. We had five whole novels to learn how to despise him.

It took Katy Regnery only one book to make us realize that we shouldn't have judged him so harshly...

Somewhere inside Étienne was the fifteen-year-old who'd loved her more than he'd ever loved anyone else, before or since.
Oh man... I had all of the feels with this book and it absolutely warmed my heart to watch this story unfold.

I think it really speaks to the talent of Katy Regnery that she could make me fall in love with a character I'd thoroughly disliked before starting the book.

It turns out that there was so much more of Kate and Étienne's teenage tryst than even the English brothers knew...

There was a definite Romeo & Juliet theme spinning throughout the story - The English Family and the Rousseaus have a long standing hatred of each other... Granted, it's a very polite hatred now that everyone has grown up and joined their parents in the ranks of Philadelphia's wealthy elite... But make no mistake, fists flew, blood fell, and the old grudges persist.

Kate English
...you never really got over your first, she thought bitterly. Especially when you move back to the city where it all happened.
Kate is the treasured cousin of the English Brothers and the only female in a generation of boys. Her parents were overbearing, and she was surrounded by cousins who both adored her and wanted to protect her from heartache.

That protective nature never really let up, even as Kate grew into a woman. Now she's practicing law at the English & Co. firm. She's an independent woman... even if she is on the verge of becoming a cat lady who silently stalks her ex-boyfriend on Facebook...

At the tender young age of fifteen, Kate was visiting her cousins over spring break. That was when she fell fast and hard for the gorgeous french neighbor boy, Étienne Rousseau. When Kate went back to New York, she left behind her virginity and all the precious memories of young love...

We know quite a bit of her story as told through her cousins' POVs in the previous books... Rumors swirled about Étienne and "Easy English" - Fights broke out, revenge was had, lives were changed, and Kate English was kept in the dark about all of it.

Kate never saw or heard from Étienne again. All those beautiful memories turned sour and crippled her self-confidence.

Twelve years later, Kate is back in Philadelphia and working for English & Co. which is trying to broker a huge deal with the Rousseau Trust. As legal council for the company, Kate must liaise with her counterpoint at Rousseau Trust... Which just happens to be the one and only Étienne Rousseau.

Several of the English brothers step in to block the deal and thereby prevent fragile cousin Kate from dealing with this specter from her past, but Kate won't hear any of it. This deal is too big for the company to back out of because of a teenage romance gone bad. Besides, she can't pass up the opportunity to lay eyes on Étienne after all this time.

Étienne Rousseau
His throbbing heart should have signaled danger, because falling can hurt and he wasn't just falling, he was slipping, sliding, plunging, and tumbling. He was hurtling headlong toward Kate English with every breath he drew, with every sweet word she spoke.
The boy who Kate fell in love with has grown into an even more amazing man. He retained his quiet nature, he still paints, and the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore.

Étienne is not the man that everyone seems to think he is. Until this point in his life, he didn't particularly care about the false rumors which followed him everywhere. He knew the truth, to hell with everyone else. And yet, it is suddenly very important that Kate knows he is not the man that rumors have made him out to be.

Kate and Étienne discover the combination of events which separated them when they were so young. In order to move forward with their lives, they must face the old heartache head-on.

Throughout this story, Katy Regnery incorporated flashbacks flawlessly - it was like watching these two characters fall in love twice.

This has been such a lovely series and I'm positively thrilled to know that there will be spinoffs for several other families who grew up on Blueberry Lane! *sigh*

I enjoyed this sweet, second chance romance! The author did a wonderful job of making me fall in love with Ettiene even though he has been portrayed as an a-hole for most of the series!!!

This series continues to be a feel good romance with lovable characters!!

Let's call a spade a spade...this was a risky story to write.

I heard from so many of you who "hated" Etienne and couldn't believe that I'd chosen him to be Kate's "hero." I had three drafts of this story going at one point...I admit it, I got worried a couple of times.

But from the beginning I had the story outlined in my head: first love, star-crossed lovers, loss, second chances, forever. It just took me a little while to get it right.

I desperately hope I've gotten it right for all of you, my beloved readers. You'll have to let me know.

Don't forget that the Winslow Brothers are coming Spring/Summer 2015! You will NOT want to miss the hot, hot, hot brothers of Jessica Winslow (whom you all met in Anyone But Alex).

I also promise that at least one English Brother (or cousin!) will make an appearance in each Winslow book...and they'll all be at Alex and Jessica's wedding, which takes place in book #3, Crazy About Cameron. So Kiss Me Kate is definitely not the end of the English. I promise.

Happy reading.
Happy everything.

I didn't want to read this book. Well because of the Hero in the book. The first time I heard that Kate would be paired up with Etienne 'Ten' Rousseau. What no, he is the biggest douche canoe in the history of douche canoes in Ms. Regnery's books. I also thought that Ms. Regnery was slightly bonkers to go through with this so I said nope to reading it but then it turned up as a steal deal and I caved. Forgot about it on my kindle, found it again and took the plunge and read it.

My verdict.

4 Romeo & Juliet (but thankfully nobody dies at the end) Stars.

Kate English the only girl cousin the English Brothers has always been protected by them or by her parents. While visiting her cousins in Philly at the age of 15 years old she meets Etienne. They have a magical week where they get to know one another and fall in love. But something goes very wrong.....

Fast forward to the here and now 12 years later.

How I wanted to hate Ten, I really wanted to but the author not only made me like him but I fell in love with him. He wasn’t the villain but most certainly drew the short straw when it came to a lot of things.

They say you never forget your first love. And neither of them forgot one another but fate helps them along the way.

There has always been a slight rivalry (okay a major rivalry between the English's and the Rousseau's but what happened to Kate didn't make it much better. Which led to a lot of bad blood but things are about to change.

The English's and the Rousseau's get together for a business deal. The lawyers working on the deal that takes place in New Orleans, yep Kate and Ten. They have a rocky start but they get to know one another again as grownups. The secrets and lies come out but they work through it all.

To begin I received an ARC in a contest from the author and I have waited so long for Ten and Kate that I started reading the second I got it and could not put it down.

I have read this whole series and while you could read this story without the back history, I think it will mean more if you read all the books in series.

Kate is the only girl in the family of English's. She is the cousin to Stratton, Alex, Barrett, Fitz and Weston and they love her and respect her a lot. But she is a woman so they want to take care of her. Kate wants to stand on her own feet.

Over the years the our hero Etienne/Ten and his brothers have been competing with the English brothers in business and in romance and they all believe that when Kate and Ten were 15 he did her wrong and since then they have hated Ten with a passion.

So this story is a little bit of a modern Romeo and Juliet. But that all changes when the English brothers decide to get into business with Ten's family and Ten and Kate are both corporate attorneys. Ten and Kate have not spent anytime together in 12 years and they finally do and in a great way.

They hash out their past and its a very murky past, which I am not spoiling even a little here.

In other books the author made Ten evil, she made you want to hate Ten and in this book she open Ten's heart up and dissects what you thought was bad about Ten and turns it around and I loved him.

As to Kate, she grows a lot. Her Englishness really comes thru. She stands up for herself and she takes no prisoners and I really loved it. I was cheering for Kate.

I loved how the author showed us what happened 12 years before and interweaved that with what was happening currently in the story. I also loved seeing all the characters I have loved find their happiness. The book ends in such a great way that I just couldn't stop smiling.

There were so many great moments in this story which I won't spoil for you, but this is a great Romeo and Juliet romance with a little hate to love and second chance romance.

I totally loved it and I LOVE Etienne, he is a true romantic.

3 to 3.5 stars. Etienne (Ten) and Kate. Loosely inspired by Romeo and Juliet, I suppose. They fell in love at age 15, but were cruelly separated by their families, also by some miscommunications. Years later when they met again, they realised that each other was still 'The One'.

It's not my fav trope, but it was still a nice love story. It did jump back and forth in time, which I didn't love. And Ten's voice as a fifteen-year-old was strangely mature. How many fifteen-year-olds say things like: 'people ascribe a personality to you if you don't assert one'? (Hang on, how many adults say that? LOL.) Or use terms like 'convenient euphemism'? Right....... Um yeah, no fifteen-year-olds of my acquaintance.

It was irritating, but didn't kill the story. But overall it wasn't as well done as my fav of this series, JC and Lib's story - Ten's brother and Kate's best friend. Still, I enjoyed the reread.

'Kiss Me Kate' is the Shining Star of this Great Series!! A Definite Must Read!

Oh my gosh! I loved this series and I was sure it could get no better than than the previous five books but there was something about this that just pulled on my emotions because all I have heard throughout the series is how horrible Etienne (Ten) Rousseau was and is. This book was fantastic and a perfect completion to a great series. This can be read as a stand alone but is so much better to read the books in order. You will get a greater understanding of the characters and their relationships with each other.

Kate English is the cousin of the fab five English Brothers and the only girl in the family. The brothers are very protective of Kate as well as her uncle and father. It seems they have gone to such extremes to 'protect' her and the result of that over-protection and keeping her in the dark about certain things ended up altering the course of her life and leaving her heart shattered and her self image and confidence in tatters. Of course they didn't do it on purpose...they all thought they were protecting her from heartache and pain when in fact they almost caused her to self destruct. Well-meaning but oh so wrong of them. It proves what I have always believed. Some young people can truly fall in love, a lasting love, at a young age. It is not an everyday occurrence but it is possible.

When Kate was fifteen years old she went to stay with her cousins for a week while her parents went out of town and during that week she met, fell in love with, and gave her virginity to Etienne (Ten) Rousseau, the arch enemy of the English brothers. She has never been able to get him from underneath her skin and out of her heart, no matter all the terrible things her cousins said he did.

Since Stratton English has decided to abandon the career path his family has chosen for him and work for the DA's office English & Co is in need of another legal eagle and they want to keep it all in the family. Cousin Kate is offered the position and accepts. But when Barrett decides to jump in bed with their rivals, the Rousseaus, on a business deal that will make both families a lot of money, Kate and Etienne are thrown together again after twelve years of no contact. Sparks fly, YES, but it is so much more than that. We get to know Etienne Rousseau and we learn some very important facts about this young man. I won't go into detail but let me just say that he has been gravely misunderstood, wrongly judged, and many injustices have been unfairly served upon him.

For me, this was a book that I couldn't bear to put down and as much as I enjoyed all of the English brothers, there was something extra special about 'Kiss Me Kate.' I highly recommend this read and am anxiously awaiting the new crossover series.

5+ STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have come to expect a certain level of sophistication and quality from Katy's books. There is this overall tone she sets with her writing and there are feelings I have come to love and yearn for when I get my hands on one of her books.
Well, KMK was no exception. In fact it exceeded my expectations and set the bar higher!

Only having had a glimpse of Kate from the previous books I was excited to learn her story and get to know this vivacious woman who was not fully living because of her unrequited love and broken heart. And I must admit that going in I was very skeptical about how Katy was going to make me love, much less like, Étienne (Ten). But as we all know, 'things aren't always as they seem' and by just a few short chapters in I was Team Ten!

The lovely writing, as always, was a breath of fresh air but this story, Kate's story, was so much more emotional for me. It really pulled at my heartstrings and had me delirious with excitement for Kate and Ten's second chance at happiness. I really loved getting to see the past and the present from both of our "star-crossed lovers" and learning how they not only feel for one another but how they felt all those years ago. Seeing their rekindling was beautiful and I was even teary-eyed with happiness at their love.

I am sad to have this series come to an end but I very much look forward to the new series Katy has in store for her readers.

Thank you Katy for a truly lovely journey.

I truly believe there is a piece of Shakespeare in the heart of Katy Regnery. With this latest offering of 'Kiss me Kate' she manages to capture 2 souls on a journey in the most complicated and romantic trip ever. As i was reading this book i was transported into Kate English and Etienne Rousseau's emotional rollorcoaster and it is one thrilling ride. I had opinions of both leading characters before i started reading but from the first chapter i got so engrossed into their lives my opinions started to change.
This story is gripping from the start and Regnery has outdone herself merging past with future story lines. Her writing is outstanding and really is one of her best so far. she manages to bring the reader on an incredible romantic albeit complicated journey showing true love has no bounds. This book is a must read and once you enter the English Household you wont want to leave.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

It's another hit from Katy Regnery. I went in to this book thinking that there was no way I could find anything about Etienne I would like or even love. I was wrong and I am woman enough to admit it.

The Rousseau's are the enemies of the English family. Not only is there bad blood between the brothers but Etienne hurt their cousin Kate. That is enough to say they want nothing to do with them. Kate is back in Philly and she's the attorney for the business, now Barrett has gotten in to bed (business wise) with the Rousseau's. All of the brothers are pissed at Barrett, they know what Etienne did to Kate, they actually know more than she does. Kate has always been curious about what happened, she even friended his sister on Face Book so she could catch slivers of information about him. The last time Etienne and Kate were together they had agreed to write to each other. Nothing ever came of it though. Kate decides to put on her big girl panties and tell the brothers to do the deal, it's just business and she could handle it. She hopes.

Etienne is finally back to work after he was in a car accident. On the first day back his brother tells him that they have a new deal they are working on. When he finds out its with the English brothers and Kate is their new counsel, he's pissed and also intrigued. He's never forgotten his time with Kate and he's always wondered why she never contacted him like she said she would.

Gah, I mean seriously these two just go together. They fit. I can't even with how proud I was of them both. They could of beat around the bush and not try to find out what happened all those years ago but they dove in and figured out went on behind their backs. So much time was lost for them and when they get to the root of the issues they're faced with it is soon determined that no matter what time has passed they want to be together. It was very lovely to see their past. Showing how their love stood the time. I am so sad that this is the end of the English brothers but I am so so glad to know that I get more from Katy with more series. I love the way this author writes. She can weave a tale and I for one will be lined up waiting for the next bit she weaves. Check out all of her work, its awesome and leave her love in the form of a review!

This touching reunited lovers romance is the story of Kate and Etienne. A whirlwind teenage love affair ended in hurt and despair when their families intervened without their knowledge, leaving them both with memories and broken hearts. Now 12 years later, their families' companies have planned a business merger and Kate and Etienne must deal with each other as legal counsels - will putting this deal together also mend their broken hearts?

I loved this story! All of Katy Regnery's previous English Brother's series books have been delightful romantic and sexy stories and I had big expectations for this one which were handily delivered. Told in both Etienne and Kate's points of view and including flashbacks of their meeting and falling in love as teenagers, it's a combination of sweet, tender and sexy as they both can't hide the fact now as adults that they still have feelings for each other. The emotion is spot on, detailing that teenage first love feeling so well. I really enjoyed Kate's character as she tries to hide her heart from Etienne fearing it will be broken yet again. She's now a strong, accomplished businesswoman willing to put aside her personal feelings for a business deal that she knows is the right decision for the company. But she can't deny the chemistry between them, and it explodes even from their first look at each other again, years later. Etienne too is an engaging character, dealing with a reputation that has been wrongly assumed by many but never bothering to fix it, figuring that his true friends will know the type of man he is. He has a playboy reputation but in reality has never gotten over Kate. As they start to unravel what actually happened to break them up as teenagers, it becomes impossible to put the book down! I stayed up to the wee hours to finish this story, and I warn other readers to be prepared - once you start it you'll be hooked! 5 stars for an enchanting star crossed lovers tale with a satisfying happy ending.

5 stars for Kiss Me Kate!

Kiss Me Kate is a story of first love, first heartache, and having a second chance at love. Author Katy Regnery is an amazing writer so it came as no surprise that I loved everything about this book!

In Kiss Me Kate Etienne Rousseau and Kate English meet as teenagers and have a summer love affair. When Kate returns to her home they promise to continue their romance. But a misunderstanding and rivalry between their families destroy their chances of love. With no other choice but to move on, years go by until Kate and Etienne are finally reunited for a business deal. But their painful past stands in the way of the deal and for them to move forward. Author Katy Regnery took the classic Romeo and Juliet and gave them a modern day voice through Kate and Etienne. Instead of the tragic ending in the classic tale, Kiss Me Kate has characters who fight for their chance to be together.

With all of Katy Regnery’s books it is the characters that I fall in love with. Kate is beautiful, intelligent and caring. But with Etienne the author does the impossible by making a hated character from previous books into one of my favorite book boyfriends of this series. In Seduced by Stratton (The English Brothers #4) Etienne was introduced as the womanizing, unfaithful boyfriend. But we learn that not everything is as it seems and Etienne was hurt just as much as Kate was from their breakup. As you learn more of their past you can’t help but cheer for them to have a happily ever after ending.

Kate and Etienne story was the most romantic of The English Brothers series. There are some sexy and steamy scenes but what touched me most was the intense chemistry between the characters. The passion between Kate and Etienne was clear from the flashbacks and also from their present day conversations. I loved that Kate and Etienne cared enough for each other to talk about the past instead of just jumping in to bed. Their heartfelt confessions to each other were swoon worthy and written beautifully that it brought me to tears.

Kiss Me Kate is the 15th book I’ve read and reviewed from Katy Regnery and it lived up to my expectations. Katy Regnery has perfected her writing of creating short and quick stories that are filled with the same amount of intrigue and emotion of full length novels. The English Brothers series are only 200 pages long but I am happily satisfied but at the same time I would love more! I am sad that this is the final book for the series but I can’t wait to read for the spin-off series, The Winslow Brothers!

Kiss Me Kate and The English Brothers series is a must read for all romance fans!

5++ STARS!

As I swipe my finger across my iPad to turn to the last page of Kiss Me Kate, the final installment in Katy Regnery's English Brothers series, I breathe out a long sigh full of contentment for this absolutely spectacular and fabulous addition to this outstanding series. When Etienne and Kate were first introduced to us in the earlier stories, we were given such a completely different vision of their relationship and what had transpired between them. As I headed into the pages of Kiss Me Kate, my mind wondered how the author was going to change my perception of Etienne, but she change it she did. As the saying goes, there are always two sides to every story, and Ms. Regnery has certainly proven that here.

There is such an amazing love and connection between Etienne and Kate which begins when they are both 15. Despite the multitude of misunderstandings threaded throughout their past, the magnetic pull of their souls remains as does the connection of their hearts despite the interference and involvement of their families (in true Romeo and Juliet fashion) of which neither of them were aware. Throughout the pages of this wondrous story, Ms. Regnery leads us through their lives intertwining both past and present occurrences taking us through their journey towards finally arriving at the truth. In spite of the appearances on the surface, I love the way both Etienne and Kate (with their attorney minds) question what they have been told choosing not to accept things at face value which ultimately leads them to the truth and back into each other's arms where they have always belonged.

Although I never thought it would be possible having read this entire series from the beginning, Katy Regnery has spectacularly outdone herself with Kiss Me Kate. I have enjoyed being part of the English families’ lives and throughout this exceptional series they have embedded themselves into my heart. I do feel a sadness now having to say goodbye with the turn of the final page, but am anxiously awaiting her new series of the families in Haverford. I look forward with hope of glimpses back to all of the wonderful characters from the English Brothers to see where their lives have taken them as well as meeting new characters and "falling" for them just as I know I will.

Each of the novels in Katy Regnery's English Brothers' series can be read as a standalone. But believe me when I say that once you read one of them, you will want to read them all as this is a journey your heart will be drawn to and you will love every single minute of it!

Well you did it Katy. You made me cry. And that's one hell of a way to close out the English Brothers series.

Second chance romance is a personal favorite of mine, so Kiss Me Kate already had that going for it when I started reading. Add to that a cast of characters I've already had come to feel like family, and a heart-wrenching tale of love discovered, lost, and then found again...well, I was primed for the tears.

We'd gotten a few glimpses of Kate and Etienne in the other English books, but now we were able to really go in-depth with their characters. For me, Kate was totally relatable and it was really easy for me to identify with her. Etienne...after reading the other books in the series, you expect him to be...well, nothing like he really turns out to be.

As their story slowly unfolds, we get to know them both as teenagers-a bit idealistic and hopeful, thinking love will conquer all-while going thru them coming back together as adults. They slowly piece together everything that happened between the time they first meet and their current situation, and as the story develops, we find out not everything was as it seemed for either of them, and their journey of discovery all these years later is filled with the emotion of first love as well as first love rediscovered. The comparison in the book to Romeo and Juliet is particularly apt for Kate and Etienne.

With writing that keeps you fully immersed in their story, and information doled out slowly and deliberately while we put all the pieces of their puzzle together-you've got a tale that will have you swooning over Etienne, rooting for him and Kate, and probably breaking out your own pack of tissues when he whispers, "Kiss Me, Kate". Yes, even those of you who weren't happy about him being the one for Kate...you'll see.

"I'm sure," she whispered. "I love you. I choose you." *sigh*

Ending the English Brothers series with a wonderful story that will touch your heart, Kiss Me Kate is a 5-star read for me, and cements the English Brothers series on my top recommendations list. Recommended for 18+ for anyone who is a romance fan.

Thank you Katy-for making me cry, and for providing a copy of the book for an honest review. I'm really looking forward to the companion series, The Winslow Brothers!

To start this review off I first need to point out that I totally called it that Etienne would end up being my favorite guy of the whole series...I was SO right! (I still love you Barrett and Weston!)
Yes, he came off as a complete jerk in Seduced by Stratton and I could totally see why everyone would hate on him, but see I knew something that some of you might not have. I knew that if anyone could redeem him after that it would be Katy. She has a gift of writing these characters that are so unbelievably authentic that I feel like I know them in real life. Sure, they are always handsome or beautiful, smart and wealthy, sophisticated and driven but they are also flawed and naive, sometimes blinded by their own beliefs and/or prejudices. They're as real as fictional characters can be and I fall in love with them every single time.
While this is still an English Brothers novel, it belongs to their cousin Kate and through the telling of her story we get to see an opposing view of Barrett, Fitz, Alex, Stratton and Weston. While we read and fell in love with them before, this time we get to see how it was possible that not everyone shared that love of them. In a strange turn of events I found myself angry with the English brothers and wanting to give them the what-for. That's what I mean about Katy's writing though. Just when you think you have everyone figured out she goes and switches it all up on you and you have to rethink everything. This story made me realize how important it is that you get the whole story before you jump to conclusions because, sometimes, things aren't exactly what they seem.
This story really did end up being my favorite (stop me if you've heard me say that before) and honestly I think it's the first one that actually had me in tears. I cried for Kate and her broken heart. I cried for Ten and the reputation he had to deal with on top of his broken heart. This story broke me down and then built me right back up again.
Once again Katy has written a beautiful romance, told the way a true romance should be. I'm sad knowing that this series is over but happy to know that I can expect plenty more where this came from in the talented mind of Katy Regnery.

"Even all these years later, she was Kate and he was Etienne - and once upon a time, he had loved her madly."

Read that quote and tell me you feel nothing and I'd wager you have no soul.

This book is stunning! Seriously, it's perfection.
I have no idea how Katy did it but she took a character I didn't care about (Kate) and a character I kinda despised (Etienne) and made them my favourite characters in this entire series by the end of the second chapter!
I'm finding it really hard to write my thoughts on this book without being too gushy and ridiculous. I keep writing and deleting, because in all honesty, the book made me feel gushy and ridiculous! The entire book felt like falling in love. It made me smile, it made me laugh, it made me want to kick-ass and take names of those who stood between my precious Kate and Etienne. I was warm and tingly and completely content and happy. It was a wonderful few hours of blissed out, loved up happiness watching the two of them come together... A real modern day Romeo and Juliet without all the death and abject stupidity.

I loved how the point of view shifted between Kate and Etienne so you got a complete picture of what was going on. I LOVED - oh my god, how I loved - the flashback scenes to when they were teenagers and falling in love for the first time. That really made the story for me, those scenes were the story's heart and they so easily conjured memories of teenage love and heartbreak, it was hard not to feel like it was my love and my heartbreak.

Katy Regnery cast a spell over me long ago with her wonderful writing and heart-warming stories but this book was just above the rest for me. Beautiful.

P.S. It is book 6 in a series but it can be read as a standalone.

I LOVED IT! ! I could not put it down. I thought Etienne was a jerk in the previous English books but fell in love with him in this one.

I love how the story goes back and fourth from present day to when Kate and Etienne were 15 and falling in love for the first time. You need to know their history to understand how they got to where they are today. Their love story is like a modern day romeo and Juliet.

At 15, Etienne seems mature for his age. He and Kate just click and understand each other. Etienne is misunderstood from an early age and does not have any close friends that he can "talk to" until he meets Kate. I love how he speaks in french and says romantic things to Kate.

Kate is a curvy size 16 which I love. Etienne loves her curves and booty and makes sure she knows how beautiful she is even tho she does not always see it for herself.

When they learn the truth about their past and what lead them to where they are today, they work to get the romance back they once shared and get their families to see and understand that their love is real and true. They basically let their family's know the truth about what really happened 12 years earlier and tell them they need to accept it and deal if they love them.

This book was such a great love story and I hated to see it end. I hope to read more about the English's. Maybe the English's part 2. lol

That may have been my Favorite English Brothers book in this whole amazing series.. Katy's writing once again flawless, some of her lines took my breath away.

"Until forever," Etienne whispered tracing the outline of her lips with one fingertip, before pulling her back into his arms and claiming them with his once again."

I want to start out by saying, how I was so incredibly wrong about Etienne..I totally had him pegged as a no good, cheating - womanizer..He was the enemy. I was definitely Team English. However this book completely made me do a 180 with my judgement on Etienne. He maybe the most loving, loyal, down right amazing man EVER!! I can not believe I am saying it.. I LOVE TEN!!! OMG the way he quoted Romeo and Juliet..swoon...

Kate, she is smart, kind, loving..Sometime I felt she needed to believe more in herself. But she was lovely. I loved how she loved fierce, and forgave quickly. But to Katy's credit she developed Kate wonderfully.

This really is a Romeo and Juliet story. Two young star cross lovers torn apart by family and miss communication. I enjoyed every bit of this book and I am really sad to see this series come to a close...This book was so romantic, such a fantastic 2nd chance love story.. I can not stop smiling...

Top book for 2015!

Kiss Me Kate by Katy Regnery is another hit! I have to admit - I love Katy’s books already – So I was prepared to enjoy this one... That doesn’t even begin to cover this. I was also prepared to not like Etienne – ohhh so very wrong...

Kiss Me Kate goes back and forth in time between Ten and Kate. Ten and Kate are 15 in the early remembrances and 30 something in the present day story. In the past for one week, they were free to be together. Now in the present, there are so many skeletons, family members and old hurts in the way. (BTW – Family does not always know what is best!) I found all those factors wrapped up into a poignant love story that I read in one night’s time even with everything else I was expected to accomplish. There might have been tears involved also. Just Saying.

Kiss Me Kate is the best of Katy Regnery. Her writing style is engaging, but her ability to draw out characters and situations is just captivating. I am so glad I found her books and look forward to many, many more in the future!!!

I received this ARC book from the author and am thrilled to give it an honest review. Kiss Me Kate is the 6th book following the stories of the English brothers, but this one is about their cousin Kate. It is by far my favorite one of all. You must read it, especially if you have read thee other books. You catch up on ongoing details of the English brothers.
Kate and Etienne's romance is told in this story so sweetly. The innocence of 15 year old first love, first everything. Very surprising details about their 15 year old love revealed from both sides. Etienne's love for Kate..... DREAMY! They lost each other and them found each other again in the most heartbreaking, emotional, innocent, and loving way. I can't wait for the next book to give me more on all the English brothers and their loves, but especially KATE AND ETIENNE!!!

If you've read Seduced by Stratton, you're probably wondering, "how on Earth could Katy ever redeem Etienne?" Well, I can assure you that she's done just that. Convincingly.

Yes, Etienne is a flawed man but he's definitely not the cold hearted monster he'd been painted as. I found him (and the strong-minded Kate) easy to connect to and they did come close to replacing Fitz and Daisy as my favourite English couple... close but not quite! They're so well suited for each other and so much in love that you can't resist caring for them and mark my words, you will be cheering them on before the inevitable confrontation with her family.

Katy, thank you for giving us such a beautiful ending to a perfect series!

Let me start off by saying that I discovered Katy Regnery about six months ago, and she has very quickly become one of my favorite authors. By the time you finish one of her books, you feel as if you not only know, but understand her characters. She tells a great story. I will be reading anything she writes.
Now... About Kiss ME KATE--- You meet Etienne early on in the English Brother books, and you won't like him very much. But when you really get to know him in Kiss Me Kate, your not only gonna like him, your gonna LOVE him. And Kate is just as love able. She is smart, successful, and a size 16. The only female in a world of alpha males. This is a true love story. Katy Regnery did it again. 5 stars all the way with this book.

Katy's stories just keep getting better and better. I could not put this book down. We first met Etienne in Seduced by Stratton, oh how I hated him. Really Katy, you wanted me to read a whole story on him.

I am now a changed girl after reading Kate and Etienne story. A modern day Romeo and Juliet. I too, am in love with Etienne. I really enjoyed how the story was told in past and present day, blended so well.

Loved the ending of the book, a great wrap to the end of the series. I will so miss the English brothers. I received this book from the author for an honest review.

The sexy Frenchman

I have now read all the book in the English brothers series and has found this book to be the 1 that captured me.
Each English has a love story that is unique and can only see this with reading all.
What I would recommend is to leave this book last as this is the best and it shows how the relationships have developed over time.
Brilliant read
Looking forward to reading the Winslow Series

I really enjoyed this sweet, second chance romance!! The author did a wonderful job of making me fall in love with Éttienne even though he has been portrayed as a major jerk for most of the series! I also really enjoyed seeing his side of the story and watching the journey that both Kate and Éttienne took to find out what went wrong in the first place. I loved how Kate wound up standing up to her cousins, even though Éttienne's showdown with his mother was rather anti-climatic. All things considered, this was a good ending to the English Brothers chapter of Blueberry Lane.

A little history is in order…

In Seduced By Stratton we are introduced to a wickedly handsome Frenchman named Etienne Rousseau who happened to be on-again-off-again with Stratton’s neighbor, Amy. Amy and Etienne had a dramatic love affair that included screaming, crying, fighting, breaking up, making up and Amy ending up spending nights on Stratton’s couch…but never in his arms. We’re led to believe that Etienne is nothing but a scoundrel - a dirty, rotten, cheating scoundrel that also broke Kate English’s heart twelve years prior and garnered the burning hatred of all the English Brothers. But as Regnery reminds us on page one… “Things aren’t always as they seem”

As the only female English, Kate English (cousin to the fabulous English Brothers) finds herself in an extremely difficult position. As legal counsel for English business, it is her job to assist the sale of a business in New Orleans. A piece of a business owned by the Rousseau family, as in Etienne Rousseau who broke her heart into a million pieces when she was just 15 years old. Kate wants to be seen as an equal to her male cousins, but is also wary of what seeing Etienne again after all these years will do to her wounded heart.

Etienne, on the other hand, is relishing his newfound freedom. He’s anxious to get back to the business in and out of the office until his brother J.C. throws him a curveball – as legal counsel he’s going to have to work with Kate English. The girl who stole his heart 12 years ago and never returned it.

Secrets. Lies. Untold heartbreak. Devastating missed chances. Can Kate and Etienne come to grips with their past and move forward? Is there a future for the star-crossed lovers who once promised each other forever?

“Can you fall in love with someone when you’re fifteen and pick up where you left off twelve years later?” she whispered.

Within seconds of starting the book I was laughing out loud. I immediately took a liking to Kate English as she did what all of us have done at one point – looked for dirt on an ex. That’s what’s so great about Rengery’s work – there is always a character the reader can relate to. Like really, really relate to. So much so that you often forget you’re reading a story, and reading about someone’s real life. She has a way of pulling you into a story so quickly, you forget what time it is…what day it is…what planet you’re on.

While all of Regnery’s books have thrown me for a loop in one way or another, this one pulled out all the stops for me. I went into the book HATING Etienne…or who I THOUGHT Etienne was. I was mad for Kate who’d been treated so poorly wanted her to extract sweet revenge at once. But then…we meet Etienne, really meet him, and we begin to pull back the lies and secrets and deceit that surrounded the end of their love affair. Etienne had been just as crushed as Kate just as much as Kate had been crushed by him, and I too found myself falling for him… “A protective hero, a compassionate savior, a stone hard, hot, demanding, brooding sexpot of a man.”

And Kate…well, Kate English is just like every single one of us. She’s not perfect. She’s had her heart broken. She longs for a time when things were simpler, when one boy loved one girl and nothing else mattered. I cheered for her when she stood up to her cousin’s and decided to work with Etienne. I cried with her when she started to learn the truth. I got butterflies with her when Etienne took her hand for the first time…again…and I wished and hoped and pleaded that things would work out for the two star-crossed lovers.
Once again…Regnery gave me #AllTheFeels

This is an A+, five star, must read romance for the end of winter. Not only do we get to read about a female English, we are taken on a journey through a modern day Romeo and Juliet as we watch an English and a Rousseau fall back together.
“My only love sprung from my only hate.” – Romeo & Juliet
