Jett
I don’t talk about my past, and I don’t fall for straight guys.

Finding out that my college boyfriend is cheating on me isn’t the way I planned to start the fall semester. My distraction? A friendly competition with my rowing teammates, the Sutton U Crew, vs the hockey team. Until I’m faced with Ethan Walker, a cocky forward and notorious frat boy. The guy’s a smug player—in every sense of the word. I thought he was straight, but everywhere I go, there he is. I’m fast, but he’s relentless.
And I have no idea what I’m going to do when he catches me.

Ethan
I’m not catching feelings for anyone, never mind a guy.

College is all about good times, flirty games, and of course, hockey. Until I meet Jett, a rower who never met a competition he couldn’t beat. Something about his smart mouth and sad eyes sets me off like nothing else. I can’t stop thinking about what it would be like to kiss him, but since when am I into guys? Every time we’re near each other, though, the pull between us gets more intense. It’s not that I want Jett; I need to own him.
And once I catch him? I’m not letting go.

Catch is a bi awakening MM sports romance that contains cheating, but not between MC's.

A MM Sports romance in College with a Hockey Player x Rower, Opposites attract, banter & snark, Bi-awakening, (low-key cute) obsession, First times, from "benefits" to love 🥰, an asshole ex 😤 & a found family of friends whom I love!
This is the spin-off of "Bar Down" hockey series, these 2 had the tension there too, so I'd been excited for this! Loved Ethan & Jett. I actually focused on this while my family was watching TV in same room, that's a feat. Great start to series!

I'd seen "Heated Rivalry" show's 1st 2eps along same days & had an epiphany. MM sport romances have changed with people. Earlier, being in love with a teammate, rival (or *gasp* coach) had caused so much angst in books. These days, in mostly, it doesn't cause THAT many issues & is seen as any other workplace relationship. The growth & acceptance is beautiful.

🏒Ethan is the hockey player. E's easy-going, cocky, loyal, friendly & honest. He's got ADHD & does hookups only, not looking for love after the trauma that are his parents & their divorce. But E never expected Jett 😉.
🛶Jett is the rower. J's a genius jock, methodical (science major perks 😁), (over-)thinker. I loved how he snarks back & teases E too 😁. He's anxious & cautious due to asshole, cheating ex & the loss he'd suffered 🥺.

One falls fast, other falls hard...
E+J's bickering's fun! It's a surprise how fast E's obsession grows for J - poor guys' confused 😂. I loved E's possessive, protectiveness! J's out as gay & I liked how E realises he's Bi, it's easy (But why now & why him 😆!). It's funny how E proves J wrong that he's in fact, not messing up 😉.

Just Friends with Benefits? How about we add feelings *wink*?
J's E's new fixation haha. I loved that eventually, obsession's both-sided 😍. E+J's chemistry's freaking fire, so hot. Thrill of getting caught? 🔥 Anal play? 🥵 YES. I thought they'd vers ngl, from how they were 😅 but its ok.

I loved how their friends were basically cheering them on 😂. The sport & events were fun. I'd never seen rowing, so that was cool! The ex is so psychopathic, I knew he's trouble 😤. I'm glad they took right action against him in time!! We got to see E+J as couple for last few chapters which made me so happy. They're adorable 🥹❤️. Cute ending!

Easy, fun and sweet read. A little bit of hurt, but overall it’s really a no-brainer. Give me a possessive MC and it’s almost a guaranteed win for me 😅

I received an ARC for an honest review.
I am unsure about my thoughts on this book. I really liked the other books in this series- and was excited for this read!
I enjoyed some aspects of this book. I really liked Jett, and I liked how the author included a sport that was different from others we receive in hockey romances. But Ethan’s character felt a little underwhelming for me, I didn’t really feel like we knew much about Ethan.
I also felt like the dynamic between the two characters felt a little insta-love, which if you like that would totally be a vibe. I just don’t love that in books!
Overall, a light read- and I would read the next book in the series.

Enemies to lovers ✨

Catch is a well written sports romance with a central rowing theme, it's the first book in the Sutton U Crew series.
I love good enemies to lovers stories, and this one delivers in spades. The dynamic between the two main characters, Ethan and Jett, immediately grabbed my attention. Ethan, a loud and boisterous hockey player, constantly gets in people's faces, while Jett, an adorable rower, is a much softer and gentler character. They are constantly antagonising one another, a rivalry so intense that when Ethan’s friends lose a football bet against Jett’s team, they all have their heads shaved and a result!
Their 'enemies' games, however, gradually evolve into something more. Despite the initial friction, the connection between the two guys is incredibly hot, and the development of their deeper feelings never feel forced.
I really enjoyed all the characters in the story, they kept me invested in both the main couple's journey and that of their friends. Ava’s ability to balance Ethan and Jett's emotional depth is particularly well done. She also expertly handles the wonderful found family aspect, seamlessly blending characters from the rowing and hockey teams, which adds a rich layer to the story.
I could have swooned when the two finally confessed their love. It wasn't a surprise, it was obvious to everyone except Jett and Ethan themselves, (who really are in denial). They are so perfect together and deeply protective of the other. I love how Ava conveys this connection and describes the natural progression of their relationship.
If you like competitive, snarky banter and a slow burn, you are likely to enjoy Catch. The story is engaging and well written, successfully connecting you to its characters and their journey.

I received an ARC of this story, which in no way influenced my opinion.

i liked both of them so much!

ethan coming to terms that he can 100% love jett was so silent even though his friends kept talking about it, i was shocked and thinking he was just going to string him along but good to see that he knew better!

jett was so sweet, i loved everything about him, no notes!

ethan should’ve cussed his dad out more if i’m being honest because why am i even having this conversation with you?? i’m your son, the child, you’re the parent you know what you’re doing! if therapy doesn’t fix their family, the siblings are better off going no contact!

I liked how this story was spread out even if we didn’t get all the details but i liked how there small time skips and not everything happening one day after the next!

Oh I really enjoyed this. We got sweet, spice and swoon! I totally was all in right from the start, the tension between our MCs was fun and competitive- the drama with Jett’s evil ex played a part in the storyline but didn’t take over which I really appreciated. I loved the friends and how everyone really saw what was going on and enabled and encouraged the MCs to explore their connection more. All in all a realllly enjoyable read that had a bit of everything that makes a college sports romance a good time without any annoying bits that sometimes get thrown in. I really hope the author continues this series and gives other crew boys their HEAs as well

Hockey meets Rowing! Sparks fly! This is a fun continuation of the Sutton U series and bridges the previous hockey series with a new group of college men destined to find their guys! I really enjoyed watching the rivalry, the posturing and also the bi awakening as Ethan falls for Jett! This was a fast paced read with great banter and just enough angst as Jett starts to recover from his past hurts with Ethan's help.

I can't wait to see where the series takes us and hope to continue to see pop ins from previous Sutton U couples.

The first half of this book was great. 5-Stars. I loved both of these characters and the sexual tension was off the charts. Ethan fell first and fell hard and that's one of my favorite tropes. I also loved that they each played different sports and got to share those with each other. Jett getting to step out on to the ice and Ethan learning to row were some of my favorite parts.

But, once they get together, the story just sort of fizzled out for me. Gone was the tension and banter that brought them together. It became all about the sex and moved from being character-driven to story-driven and I started to lose interest. I probably skimmed the last 30% of the book.

I'm not sure if I'll continue on with this series or not. I loved Rule Breaker and Play Maker was really good too, but this was middle of the road. While this had a ton of tropes that I love, there just wasn't a strong enough story to hold it all together. I did really love the rowing though. It was nice to read about a different sport other than the usual suspects.

This might be my new favourite story by Ava Olsen!
It’s teasing, banter and tension! I’m here for it 😍

The connection and chemistry between the characters was just amazing! And the confidence Ethan shows in finding himself attracted to a guy, fits him very well.

Jeff is just the sweetest, I loved him.

Great pacing, very well written and perfect ending 😍

I really enjoyed this. It was slightly predicable in some aspects, like Jett's ex but the writing was really good at bringing all those feelings out. Jett and Ethan were great together and I would not have minded an epilogue 5, even 10 years ahead as it was hard to let them go.

After reading Heart Taker, I was really excited to get Ethan’s story and learn more about him. I really enjoyed this. Ethan and Jett were fun, the tension between them and their banter was great. I loved the found family with Jett and his friends and Ethan and his friends. I’m excited to see where this series is going to go!

Straight hockey boy + queer rower, a bit of friendly-ish competition, an evil ex that just won’t quit, and heaps of banter - I inhaled this 😍

I'm definitely looking forward to more in this series because I could not put this down. Ethan has swagger for days so it really shouldn't be any surprise that he takes his bi awakening in stride. Going so far as public sex near his teammates because he just doesn't care if he gets caught, he needs Jett NOW. It was scrumptious. Full of want and lust and romance. Everything I want from a book like this.

Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review.
I’ve got to say, I was pretty much hooked from the first chapter of this book. There is something very special about Ethan and Jett.
Jett had just walked in and found his boyfriend cheating on him with a woman and this was the final straw he walked out His ex tried to follow but Jett was having none of it. He had a friendly soccer game to get to where the rowers were taking on the hockey players so the crew against the cougars. And Ethan, who is a cougar just rubs him up the wrong way he’s always trying to get a rise out of Jett. But something is different today Ethan can scene something is wrong with Jett and he gets all protective of him which totally confuses Ethan and the feelings he’s having towards Jett. He’s never looked at a man before but it doesn’t scare him off. When Jetts ex comes to the game and starts kicking off, Ethan is there with both teams to support Jett. Before the game Jett and Ethan had come up with a forfeit for the losing team and that would be to buzz cut their hair off. And thankfully for Jett the crew won the game and he was looking forward to taking off Ethan‘s hair. But something changed And it isn’t long before these two are egging each other on and one kiss changes everything.
That’s all I’m gonna say there is a lot going on in this book. the friendships between the cougars and the crew. It isn’t long before both teams have got a special bond being there supporting each other through their Competitions. Ethan and Jett say at the beginning that it’s just friends with benefits but that changes quickly. You see a totally different side of Ethan when he is involved with Jett these two have a passion that is just electric they can’t keep their hands off one another but it’s just friends with benefits but what happens when feelings get involved. I smiled throughout most of this book and getting to the end, I can’t wipe the smile off my face. There’s something magical about Ethan and jet and I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Jett and Ethan are fire and gasoline but in the best way. They have a competitive rivalry and always making bets and trying to win. But being competitive is all they have in common right? Well they're about to find out whether they're ready or not.

Jett has just caught his boyfriend cheating on him and is devastated even if he was always have doubts about them before he caught him in the act. He's rightfully angry and hurt but his ex isn't done with him. He corners him and Ethan unexpectedly steps in to tell the ex off. Neither know why but Ethan, the straight hockey player with the playboy reputation, feels a protectivness over Jett and it has nothing to do with the way he can't seem to stop checking Jett out and trying to rile him up. He's never felt this way about a guy before but the competitive rower just does it for him. Jett doesn't believe Ethan's attraction but Ethan is prepared to show him how much he wants him and though Jett doesn't really want to date again after his stupid manipulative ex but he doesn't have to worry because Ethan doesn't plan to ever have a relationship and is more than fine with casual plus their chemistry is undeniable so Jett goes for it. What they don't expect or want to admit is that maybe it never was just about sex even from the beginning. Both men are in denial but when they're constantly together, because they want to not because they have to, sleep over at each other places, talk about deep things and share so many intimate moments they can't deny that there's something there that can be even more beautiful if only they can put their insecurities and fears to rest. Both men are all in and they're an explosion of lust, trust, understanding, the most delicious form of possession and true love. They were scorching and filthy and I loved every second. But besides the spice they had some pretty raw moments that made me swoon and tear up. The affection they show each other and their banter and the way they show up for each other is beautiful. Ethan may have had to chase a bit but Jett let himself be caught and showed that he'd be there to catch Ethan if he fell too. What a wonderful start to a much anticipated series

‘Just Friends’ with benefits

Jett is not having the best day. He’s just discovered his boyfriend with his pants down and he’s not in the mood to play the ‘friendly’ soccer match between his college rowing team and the college hockey team. Unfortunately, his hair is literally on the line (a bets a bet) so even though it’s the worst day ever he sucks it up and plays the game. It also means he has to come face to face with Ethan. His least favourite hockey player and all around loud and proud f boy.

Ethan is a love em and leave em kind of guy. He doesn’t do relationships, he does fun. Playing hockey is fun. Hanging with his teammates is fun. Annoying Jett is also fun. He just doesn’t really understand why he finds it fun or why he suddenly can’t stop looking at Jett and messaging him and seeking him out repeatedly once he learns about Jetts relationship breakdown. (I have a few ideas 😂🤣).

It’s just a bit of harmless fun right? Ethan’s looking to expand his horizons and Jett deserves something easy and passionate after his last disastrous relationship. There’s this unmistakable chemistry between them and really the only thing to do is explore it. They can remain friends all the while. It doesn’t have to mean anything! Right!? 😂🤣

Oh Ethan. You sweet summer child. This dudes ability to lie to himself and avoid any and all feelings was top notch, next level. Jett was just the sweetest dude ever and deserved having someone be utterly obsessed with him and his Lycra rowing outfit 🤣. They both have some decisions to make, some stuff to get through and watching them slowly but surely fall for each other was delicious, like sinking into a hot bath.

Why not give this a crack if you’re in the mood for sugar, spice and everything nice ? There’s also hockey games, Lycra outfits, chaps, cowboy boots, hooking up in public because they just can’t keep their hands to themselves and and ex boyfriend who doesn’t understand the word no to wet your whistle. Check triggers as usual and enjoy.

“No matter what, if I stumble—when I stumble—I know you’ll catch me,” he whispers. “And I’ll catch you.” “Because that’s what our love is.” Ethan smiles against my lips. “Sugar, I couldn’t have said it better myself.”

This book sums up this book and it also catches ( pun intended ) the essence of the relationship between Ethan and Jett.

I've read a lot of "friends to friends with benefits to lovers" but this one had something special. Idk exactly how to explain it, but I swear there was something.

Jett is very skittish in the beginning and he tries to resist the growing attraction that is building between him and Ethan ( and after what he's been through I don't blame him ), but Ean is persistent, and tbh even if he doesn't understand why or what is happening in the beginning he was honest from day one.

I think Ethan' perseverance and brutal honesty was what gave this book that something extra. He was never pushy, he always respected Jett, and always made sure he is comfortable and he feels safe around him. Due to this way of his of always making sure Jeff is taken care of Jeff felt safe enough to let go and accept him and what he was feeling for Ean.

I love how this is a jock × needy jock situation, and we not only got to have the hockey jock Ethan show us his athlete life, but we also got the nerdy jock Jeff and his rowing. This is a new sport for me ( in books ) and I loved it. I also loved how well they understood each other, showed up for each other, cheered for each other and overall tried to make the others sport and passion part of their lives.

There is no miscommunication and no 3rd act break-up, only two people who needed some time to come to terms with their feelings ( while they were together ) and accept them.

The friend group is also phenomenal, and the soccer game is also a fun way to start this whole journey. We also got to see the couples from the Bar down series ( haven't read it yet but I plan to do it soon ) for whoever read that one and wants more of the guys.

I can't wait to see what's next.

Jett and Ethan you have my heart. 5✨️

AMAZING READ!!! I loved It! 😍🫶🏼

In this book there is everything I love: College, Hockey, bisexual awakenings and first times 💞
The reading is light, a book written very well. I loved both main characters, especially Ethan.
The story begins Jeff's boyfriend who cheats him with a GIRL.
Jeff breaks up with him and blocks him everywhere but the ex doesn’t give up and asks for a second chance... aggressively.
Ethan is a hockey player and Jeff can't stand him, but Ethan will be the one to defend him from his ex.

Recommended if you love slow burn, enemies to lovers, hockey players and stories with low angst.

I received an arc copy from GRR for my honest review.

5⭐

5++ stars

This is book one in the author’s new Sutton U series and features sort of an enemies to lovers romance between a hockey player and a member of the rowing team.

This was such an awesome book! Although there was a fair bit of tension in the very beginning with Jett (the rower), being cheated on by his boyfriend and he seemed to enjoy taking it out on hockey playing (and supposedly straight) Ethan, it wasn’t overly dramatic. I did kinda think Jett was a little prickly at first, especially when Ethan was trying get to know him but after his then ex showed himself and humiliated Jett in front of everyone, you could completely understand why he was trying so hard to act unbothered.

I absolutely LOVED how Ethan, though he’d always considered himself to be straight, was totally in from the very start. He never hesitated or had second thoughts about a relationship with Jett… well mostly. Not about BEING with Jett anyway. He was more than happy to have a FWB thing and didn’t care who knew, he was just reluctant to let feelings become involved due to an ugly divorce between his parents but eventually, he couldn’t hide it anymore and I was so there for it!

There was a little bit of drama brought on by the cheating ex but that was the extent of anything less than perfection—there was no angst and no third act breakup—just a sweet and spicy good read. My only complaint is that it ended in an HFN instead of an HEA which I’m not really fond of, but it was so good otherwise that I couldn’t bring myself to get too worked up about it. Definitely couldn’t rate it down! It deserves every one of these 5 stars, plus some! Check it out for yourself, I think you’ll fall in love with Ethan and Jett just like I did!

I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.

When Jett finds out his boyfriend is cheating on him, he is beyond furious and very much done with the guy. Good thing he can take out his anger during the soccer game his crew team is playing against the hockey team. But that also means facing Ethan. The cocky hockey player who pushes Jett’s buttons constantly. Ethan is known around campus as a player off the ice too and isn’t shy about the fact that he doesn’t do relationships. But even Jett has to admit that when his ex arrives at the soccer game to cause trouble, Ethan protecting Jett really shows that there is more to him. Ethan loves poking Jett and verbally sparring with him. But Ethan is also realizing something else. He is very attracted to Jett and that’s a first for him. He’s never been into guys before but everything about Jett hits him and makes him obsessed. The pull between them is stronger than anything either has experienced before and when they give in to it? Minds are blown and everything they thought they knew about one another and themselves is thrown at the window. Both carry their emotional scars, but if they overcome them and let go of their fears, they may end up with something pretty amazing. Loved this story! Jett and Ethan were so much fun. Their banter and almost enemies to lovers vibes was a ton of fun. Their chemistry was off the charts and you just wanted them both to give into it! And as soon as they did? Wow! I loved how both of them were able to open up to one another so easily once they actually let part of their inner walls down. They balanced one another so much. I loved watching them fall in love. A great story in this universe and I can’t wait for more!

MY OPINION: I was excited to start a new series by Ava Olsen. I had read other books by the author, and getting started with book one was perfect. I wasn’t disappointed for sure, because I loved the book. If the rest of the titles in this series are as good, this will be a must-read series.

There is a hockey player, but I think the primary sports focus will be the rowing team. I might have missed it, but I wasn’t sure who the next book could be about, which I liked. The other characters supported the main story.

These two start as rivals, not exactly enemies. Jett is a rower, Ethan is a hockey player, and their two worlds aren’t typically intertwined, but with the help of an already existing couple and two teams wanting to prove something, they form a friend group with both teams. It’s a great dynamic that is carried throughout the book.

The couple is so well written, and I liked both men. Jett is finding himself attracted to a man and leans into it. Not afraid of the realization and chases what he desires. Ethan is coming out of a breakup, and a little fun could be good.

Both men catch feelings even though they know better, both men fight it, and this turns into a slow burn, with a crazy stalker ex, and a goodly amount of sports. The whole book falls together beautifully. I couldn’t help but love Jett and his enthusiasm. The entire book was wonderful to read, even though their hearts took a minute to recognize love, their bodies had no such issue. The chemistry between them is fire, and they certainly take every opportunity to explore.

This book was a win for me. I recommend it as a good read, where you want to see what happens, there is a tiny bit of drama, but it ends with a lovely HEA.

What an absolutely amazing story, the íntense feelings that Jett and Ethan had for each other was scørchingly høt and so well written you literally felt every tøuch, yëarníng and emotion between them.

I loved how Ethan, an outspoken, funny, hyper, frät/f*ck boy, becomes enthralled by Jett and how he didn’t fight his feeling towards him. Ethan just went with the pull and never really questioned himself suddenly being āttracted to a mäle. Ok he had major hängups over the words “bøyfriend”, “relätionshíp” and “cømmitment” thanks to his híghly-cønflicting and vėrbälly āggrėssive dívorced parents, however their mägnetic connection couldn’t be denied!

Jett was brùisėd after his mänipúlative Ex, so couldn’t get his head around Ethan’s sudden attention. He also felt a strong pull towards him, however with Ethan’s f*ck boy rëputātion with “wømen only” and his särcastìc nature, Jett didn’t want any part of it. Nonetheless Ethan soon chārmed him and the pull took over!

Oh Wowzers when Jett and Ethan eventually collided, after both fighting the need to tøüch, the need to kíșs, it was ssssoooo dämė høt!!! 🔥 The hëat never wained, it just grew into årdėnt love for each other.

This story writing was very compelling and captivating, the pace was perfect, and the characters (main and side) are well developed and very lovable, I definitely need more. 🥰

This book is set in the same universe than Bar Down and while it's technically not related, you have plenty of characters popping up so reading Bar Down is recommended.

I like that the book is also about a more unknown sport - rowing. I normally have not a lot of patience for college boy books but the author writes them in a way that shows that they are so much more than the stereotype jocks.

It's a frenemies-to-lovers with a healthy case of bi-awakening thrown in.

Jett can't really stand Ethan, his larger than life personality, the partyboy of the campus - it all annoys him. A friendly football (soccer) match with a hairy bet and the fact that they friends have coupled up and are now spending more time together leads to the start of a friendship.

Ethan is a lot more than his image shows, hurt by parents whose toxic love is spreading into their children, he just doesn't believe in happy ever after. He is happy with his life and doesn't need the complication of Jett causing a bi-awakening. Saying that, he wholehearty embraces it and convinces Jett to teach him.

I love how Ethan is unapologetic about his sex life, he is honest, doesn't pretend or makes empty promises. While I know these are young adults college boys, the constant jumping into bed or other encounters did get a bit much.

There is definitely chemistry between these two, they are good together and I love how Ethan takes Jett seriously, cares about him and shows that he means as much as a friend than as a friend with benefits.
It's lovely to see how their attractions grows into feelings and how Ethan is so clueless about it.

I hope we see more of Jett's rowing team in future books.

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

awww this was a cute, lightweight, bi-awakening romance featuring two endearing college jocks and their entertaining lust-to-ily journey, complete with proper jokey meddling from both their teammates and crew! We love teasing friends who insightfully catch the love connection before the MCs get it together!

***There's also a vile af ex here as well so please mind your triggers, loves!***

It took a while for me to get into the narrative tbh, as I'd found the dudebro-fkboi tone rough in the beginning. And ofc the animosity between Ethan and Jett was the kind of ott theatrics that peter out within a chapter and a half. But I went with it and rolled my eyes fondly whenever because young blood.

Ethan and Jett eventually stopped fighting their attraction for each other, and wow did their sexy times ever burn a hole through my kindle! Suffice it to say I got very into their chemistry and by that time I was really digging "sugar" as a term of endearment! Ethan was a lovable rascal with heart melting energy, and Jett was properly swept away by his charm, his protectiveness, and his prowess ;p

I loved the aspects of both competitive rowing and the high-octane hockey games that added sporty texture to athletes in lust and love! And I loved that the span of teammates were all engaging and playful, and that they were a substantial part of the story.

Overall, this was an enjoyable college romance in a series that's headed for the NHL next! Finn's at NHL training camp in Rookie Attraction and I'm very excited for the pro-level hockey loving to come! Can't wait!

Catch is exactly the kind of MM sports romance I love—equal parts rivalry, tension, and heart. From the moment Jett and Ethan collide, the chemistry is impossible to ignore. What starts as snark, stubbornness, and a whole lot of misreading each other quickly turns into something deeper, and I was hooked from page one.

Jett is instantly likeable: smart, sharp, and quietly hurting after the betrayal he’s just walked away from. His mix of resilience and vulnerability made me root for him straight away. Ethan, meanwhile, is the sort of character who shouldn’t work for me—loud, cocky, and forever causing trouble—but he completely won me over. His bi-awakening feels genuine and messy in the best way, and watching him get knocked sideways by his feelings for Jett was brilliant.

The rivalry between the Sutton U Crew team and the hockey boys brings so much energy to the story, and the competitive edge between Ethan and Jett is electric. Their back-and-forth is funny, flirtatious, and charged with something they’re both trying (and failing) to ignore. When things finally shift from enemies to something much sweeter, the payoff feels incredibly natural.

I also loved the supporting cast, friends, teammates, and the general chaos of uni life. The found family vibe runs strong, and the banter across both teams adds warmth and humour throughout. The emotional moments land just as well as the playful ones, and the romance builds at exactly the right pace.
I received a free arc copy and this is my honest review

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved these two characters. Jett and Ethan were great and very entertaining. I loved their banter back and forth throughout the story. There is a lot of teasing between the two of them though it is definitely more lighthearted on Ethan's part. Jett doesn't exactly seem to care for Ethan and Ethan is determined to get Jett to like him. Jett walks in on his boyfriend cheating on him and it does not start off the semester well for him as he ends things but as a distraction and outlet he has a soccer game/competition with his rowing teammates against the hockey team. I enjoyed seeing these two banter back and forth and watching Ethan start to realize his attraction to Jett. The flirting was great and was so natural for Ethan and he just went with it as he worked on figuring out his attraction to Jett. Ethan is persistent but in a good way since so much of it is done in a teasing manner. I also loved getting to see his protective and caring side as he had Jett's back and let him know that the way his ex had treated him wasn't right. Things start off explosive as the chemistry between them continues to grow but it is all supposed to be just for fun, nothing serious, a friends with benefits kind of situation. But it's pretty obvious from the start that it was always more than that. I loved Ethan's possessiveness and while it was very different for him, he didn't hide that he was feeling that way and how he was possessive was HOT. I was engaged with this one from beginning to end and truly adored the story. It was an easy read and I am super excited for the next one!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I'm a sucker for athlete romances, and Ethan and Jett's was such a blast! Their grumpy rivalry was entertaining at the start, and it quickly morphed into steamy attraction that propelled the rest of the story forward. Jett was moving on from a nasty ex, Ethan was in the midst of a sexual awakening, and something kept drawing the two of them together even when they didn't have the words to describe it. I was effortlessly engaged with their dialogue, and I enjoyed meeting their teammates and seeing how they all teased and joked around with each other. Ethan was persistent about pursuing Jett but never crossed the line into being pushy or overbearing. Jett put up a token amount of resistance, convinced Ethan was looking to hook up and run, but ended up folding under his charm. The two of them together were HOT, and I especially enjoyed seeing them let down their walls and realize they genuinely liked hanging out together. Between Ethan's hockey games, Jett's regattas, and the college athletic championship, there was plenty going on to keep things interesting outside of their relationship as well. Both Ethan and Jett had some reservations about the big L word, and that's where the last section of the book spent most of its time. I thought the pacing and emotional growth of their relationship felt nicely balanced, and when the two of them did confess their feelings my heart was soaring high.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
