Only to collide with a man who’s running from the entire world.
The day of my wedding I find my fiancé half-dressed behind an oversized potted plant, committing himself to one of my bridesmaids.
So I run…
Halfway across the world to an off-the-grid retreat my best friend swears will save me.
Sun. Sea. Meditation.
And absolutely no lying men.
Until I meet one of the instructors.
A man who goes by Woody, and spends his days hidden away in a shack, carving driftwood sculptures like he’s trying to forget the world exists.
He has the strength to crush me, and looks at me like he’s scared he might.
But beneath the armour is a man concealing scars and fighting an internal battle.
He might think he’s a lost cause.
But you’re only lost until someone finds you.
The sensible thing would be to walk away.
Instead, when he warns me to keep my distance, I move closer.
When he tells me he’s not safe, my blood burns hotter.
And as I dig closer to the secret he’s desperate to protect…
He growls my name like I belong to him.
I want to see the real him.
The good. The bad. The broken.
But when I discover the truth about who he is, and what he did, I realize…
Trusting him is the biggest risk I’ll ever take.
(Perfect for readers who love steamy, emotional, slow-burn romances, featuring a runaway bride, a guarded grumpy hero, forced proximity, one bed, big secrets, sizzling tension, enemies to lovers, found family, and a happily ever after that puts your heart back together after tearing it apart.)
Y’ALLLLLLLLLLL! This was the perfect ending and wrap up to the Beaufort Billionaire series!!
While it’s bittersweet that the series is over, everything came together seamless and as it should.
I absolutely loved our MCs!! They started as an enemies-adjacent vacation fling but little did they know that they were absolutely made for one another. I loved how they both could sympathize with the other about feeling like they had to run away from their problems and never feeling like they were enough for their families, whether due to fact or miscommunication.
He was my absolutely favorite MC in this series, which is definitely saying something with all the wonderful MCs. His broody loner persona and him attempting to chase away anyone who got too close was especially heart-wrenching when we found out everything lurking in his mind and history. My baby was a tough one to get through to, but an easy one to love.
In typical Elle fashion, the spice was incredible and plentiful. Seriously, so many moments from this book are living in my mind rent free 😉
I loved how the mystery throughout the series came together and made things from earlier books just make sense! And that’s all you’re getting from me because your girl doesn’t do spoilers!!
Thank you Elle Nicoll for the eARC! The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.
Such an interesting way to end the series! Finally learning what happened before Book 1 was both heartbreaking and satisfying. It was so difficult to see everything Slade went through and to understand what he believed he had done. The weight of that burden shaped him into someone hardened by guilt, yet beneath it all he remained such a tender soul. And the way he was with her? It had me completely giddy.
Wonderful story about a son who was left to find for himself or that's what he has always believed. No one knowing the truth behind an unfortunate accident and questions never answered. A Young woman who is searching for answers herself meets a man who is considered himself a ghost. How two strangers meet, find a connection, lead them to their families. Answers to come, when all were thought lost. Absolutely beautiful story ❤️.
So glad we finally got Slade’s story. This was the perfect way to end the series. Jude has one night to fulfill her darkest desires and get over her cheating ex fiancé. What she gets is the surprise of a lifetime. In the light of day, she learns her mystery man is not who she thought he was, yet he still lights her entire world on fire 🔥
From there, everything spirals. Banter, sniping, jealousy, rudeness, and that electric pull between them. Jude decides Woody is worth the risk, and unraveling the mystery of who he is leads to joy, sorrow, fulfillment, heartache, and ultimately, love. Woody is complex and guarded, carrying so much pain, while Jude brings warmth and determination that slowly shows him he might not be as lost as he believes ❤️🔥
Their connection was everything. Watching the layers of their story unfold felt raw, emotional, and deeply satisfying. Elle creates characters who feel real, flawed, and incredibly easy to root for. The Risk Taker gives the answers we have been waiting for while delivering a romance filled with healing, trust, secrets, and heart. Another fantastic addition to the Beaufort family and a beautiful close to their world.
🎧 Narration by Madison Mitts and Theodore Zephyr brings every emotion to life. Their performances make this such an easy, immersive listen.

💭I can’t believe "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿" is the last book in the 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, and what an incredible series this has been - definitely one of my favorites!
The story follows Jude, who decides to escape New York after discovering her fiancé cheating on her on their wedding day. She travels to a tropical retreat in South Africa where she meets a grouchy instructor who ends up turning her world upside down, quite literally, as he makes her see stars if you know what I mean. 🤭 However, he is keeping many secrets that will eventually be revealed and could potentially hurt their chances to be together. I won't spoil them for you! You need to listen to this audiobook, and I highly recommend reading the entire series because it is fantastic!
The duet narration, featuring 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝘁𝘀 and 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗭𝗲𝗽𝗵𝘆𝗿, adds a special touch, bringing these characters to life. If you're looking for a romance filled with steamy scenes, drama, and tension, this one is a must-listen!
This is such a hard review to write because I don’t want to tell you anything at all that might spoil this book! Read the first three in the series and then go into this one blind without reading any reviews if you can, it’s totally worth it! There’s been a tragic story running through the Beaufort family and we’ve seen the impact on not just each family member but also their wider circle. Now we finally find out the truth. What actually happened on that boat? Who was there? Who knew what? What has happened since?
I had so many theories but none were correct! Elle blew me away with this one and I absolutely loved how she wrapped it all up, along with us getting to see a glimpse into the future of the Beauforts too.
Jude and Woody were perfect for each other- what starts off purely physical very soon becomes a deep, meaningful and beautiful connection that takes them both by surprise with its strength. And that strength is what drives the rest of the story forward.
10/10, no notes! Thank you so much Elle for this ARC and for a wonderful ending to this series.
The Risk Taker by Elle Nicoll was exactly what I needed. Seeing the full story made every page worthwhile, and I enjoyed every moment. Elle Nicoll consistently delivers quality. Her writing draws you in immediately, with characters that feel genuine. Jude and Woody were perfectly matched, and following their journey made this book stand out. Their chemistry, growth, and love story kept me engaged from beginning to end. If you’ve been planning to read this, don’t wait; it’s a heartfelt, touching, and memorable story that I highly recommend.
I stumbled upon this series a couple of years ago and with each new book I wanted to know more. I read book three thinking that was the end. A few days later a teaser for a fourth book popped up in my feed. I thoroughly enjoyed this series as all the secrets and twists unfurled themselves. The epilogue was a nice finish as well!
Hot book. Will re-read! Especially loved the cliff jumping scene on audiobook! My favorite of the series so far!! Loved Woody and Jude's story. Great finish to the series. Definitely worth a re-read!
First things first: yes, technically this can be read as a standalone... but PLEASE don't. Read the entire series first. I promise you it makes this book a hundred times more emotional, and every reveal hits so much harder when you've lived through the Beaufort family's journey from the beginning.
This wasn't just Slade and Jude's story it was the ending to a family we've all grown attached to, and Elle absolutely delivered.
Let's talk about Slade... or should I say Cowboy. 🤠😭
This man was a ghost. Closed off, carrying the weight of the past, and convinced he had to shoulder everything alone. Watching him slowly tear down those walls and fight through everything he'd been carrying absolutely wrecked me. His growth throughout this book was incredible.
And Jude? I LOVED her.
My heart broke for everything she'd been through, but she never stopped fighting for herself. The moment she hit him with "Back the fuck up."?! ICONIC. 👏 She wasn't intimidated by him, she challenged him every step of the way, and that's exactly what Slade needed.
The chemistry between these two was absolutely electric from the very beginning. What starts as a physical relationship slowly turns into something so much deeper, and every chapter had me rooting harder and harder for them.
Also... the spice?! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Let's just say... Elle did not hold back. 😮💨
But what completely blew me away was the mystery that's been woven through this entire series. What really happened on that boat? Who was there? Who knew the truth?
I had SO many theories... and I was wrong about every single one of them. That reveal completely caught me off guard, and I loved every second of it. Elle tied everything together so perfectly while giving us one last glimpse into the Beaufort family, and it honestly felt like saying goodbye to friends.
If you've been waiting to finish this series, go in as blind as possible. Don't read reviews. Don't spoil yourself. Just trust the process because the payoff is absolutely worth it.
"The Risk Taker" is the perfect ending to the Beaufort Billionaires series. It wraps up every unanswered question that readers have had from the previous installments. While I love to say that I was surprised by the identity of one of the main characters in this book, I cannot because I suspected all along that this would be about this character. Even though my suspicions were correct, it did not lessen the enjoyment of the read for me.
After finding her fiance screwing one her bridesmaids and friends behind a bush the day before her wedding, Jude takes off when her friend Mal to a retreat in South Africa. Her family and friends think that she developed cold feet and Jude is not yet ready to reveal the embarrassing betrayal. Her friend has the idea that she should screw Declan, one of the instructors from the retreat in order to get over her grief. He is known for his prowess.
When Jude enters Declan's room she tells him not to speak; so, no words are spoken. She hadn't counted on enjoying the best sex she has ever experienced in her life. However, when Mal asks about it and she shares that Declan has piercing on his member, she is informed that this is not true because Mal saw his member and there was nothing there. After this revelation, Jude is stunned and dismayed when she realizes she had sex with Declan's brooding friend, Woody.
As Jude and Woody try to find a way to deal with their growing attraction to each other, they decide to be friends with benefits. Yet, Jude begins to suspect that Woody is not man he presents himself to be and that he may be related to one of the richest and most influential families i n the world. This puts her on a mission to determine the truth. The question is, does the truth truly set you free?
Of the four books in the series, I can say that I enjoyed this installment the best. The plot was more complex and there was so much more uncertainty amongst the characters. It had me sitting at the edge of my seat on multiple occasions and left me wanting more of the Beaufort family. Now this is what you call a "Goodread."
I don't even know how to put into words how much I loved this book. I have been waiting for The Risk Taker for what feels like forever, and somehow it still exceeded every expectation I had. I absolutely devoured it and could not put it down. Every chance I had, I was reading because I just had to know what happened next.
Elle Nicoll has created one of my all-time favorite romance series, and this book was the perfect reminder of why she's one of my favorite authors. Her storytelling just keeps getting better and better. The way she weaves together romance, family drama, secrets, humor, and emotional moments is incredible, and every book leaves me even more invested in this world.
Jude and Woody were everything. Jude catching her fiancé cheating with her bridesmaid moments before walking down the aisle immediately had me invested, and I loved watching her escape to South Africa in search of a fresh start. Enter Woody—the grumpy, reclusive billionaire who's hiding away from the world. Their first meeting had me laughing, and the accidental hookup that follows? Absolutely iconic. Their chemistry was instant, but watching their relationship slowly grow into something so much deeper was my favorite part of the book.
The tension between them was delicious, the banter was so much fun, and the spice absolutely delivered. But beyond the romance, I loved the character growth. Both Jude and Woody had so much healing to do, and watching them slowly let each other in made their love story feel earned and incredibly satisfying.
One of my favorite things about this entire series has been the family dynamics, the twists, and all the secrets that continue to unravel. Every book adds another layer to this world, and I loved seeing everything continue to come together here.
Elle has a way of writing characters that feel so real that by the end, it feels like you're saying goodbye to friends. Finishing this series was bittersweet because I truly didn't want it to end.
An easy five stars. One of my favorite books of the year, one of my favorite series ever, and another reminder that Elle Nicoll never misses. I cannot wait to see what she writes next.
The Risk Taker by Elle Nicoll is a deeply satisfying, emotional, and perfect conclusion to the Beaufort Billionaire series, brilliantly tying together the underlying family mysteries that have kept readers hooked from book one.
The story follows Jude, who flees to an off-the-grid retreat to escape her cheating ex-fiancé on what was supposed to be her wedding day, only to collide with a mysterious, broody retreat instructor who goes by Woody. What begins as an enemies-adjacent vacation fling and an unforgettable one-night stand quickly spirals into intense banter, jealousy, and an electric pull as Jude realizes the man hiding away in a driftwood-carving shack is not who she thought he was.
As Jude digs closer to the secrets Woody is desperate to protect, she discovers a complex, guarded man carrying immense pain, a haunting history, and the belief that he is a lost cause. In return, Jude brings a fierce warmth and determination that slowly dismantles his walls, showing him he is not as broken as he thinks.
Both characters deeply relate to feeling like they are running away from their problems and never measuring up to their families, making their journey of healing, trust, and vulnerability raw and deeply touching. In typical Elle Nicoll fashion, the romance is packed with incredible, plentiful spice and profound emotional growth that makes previous series secrets finally click into place.
While the book can be read as a standalone, experiencing the series from the beginning provides the full scope of how the family's story comes together, breaking and healing your heart within the very same pages.
The entire immersive experience is brought to life by the fantastic narration of Madison Mitts and Theodore Zephyr, making this a memorable and must-read finale.
This entire series was probably one of the best I've read in a while. Elle Nicoll never disappoints with her stories. The Risk Taker follows the journey of Jude (FMC) and an unknown MMC that will steel her heart in a time where she is the most vulnerable. Having to run away from her wedding after finding out her fiancé was cheating on her with her best friend, she flies with another close friend to escape and to recalibrate herself before going back to the mess she left behind. There she meets a gentleman who she has crazy passionate chemistry but also has his own demons to conquer.
I must say that I loved the FMC in this book and probably the entire series. I love how she doesn't back down and she speaks her mind no matter what. She is fierce and demanding to what she wants. Who doesn't want to be like that? Our MMC is almost as stubborn as her. He has his own issues and yet the moment he meets Jude; he is done for. He loves how strong and courageous she is. These characters not only find each other in a time where they need each other, but they come to conquer so much more. They are healing from their traumas and past. It is not only a love story but an ending to so much hurt held for years, and the storm is finally subsiding and the sun is setting towards the horizon.
Overall, ADD IMMEDIATELY. This author in itself is an automatic buy because you just know her books will consume you. The narration of this story also includes the voices of Theo and Maddie. They voiced every book in this series and yet their voices seemed very distinct to every character. They were made to voice them all. I give you both a standing ovation for your hard work and dedication to our beloved characters. Thank you!!!!
What an incredible ending to such a special series! If you have read the previous books, you will already know that this is the story we have all been waiting for, and Elle Nicholl absolutely delivered. I read around 80% of this in one day because I genuinely could not put it down!
I love everything Elle, from the very first book, I became completely invested in the characters and their lives. It honestly felt like I was right there beside them, experiencing every emotion, heartbreak and happy moment along the way.
The Risk Taker was everything I wanted it to be and more. The main characters were relatable, loveable and so easy to root for. Their journey was full of emotion, healing, forgiveness and family, and I felt every single moment of it.
I also loved seeing familiar characters appear throughout the story. Fans of Elle’s other books will definitely appreciate those little moments! Every happy ending is deserved, but this one felt particularly special after everything these characters have been through.
I am honestly so sad that this series is over because I am nowhere near ready to let these characters go. I really hope we get little glimpses of them in future books! This was a beautiful, emotional and completely satisfying finale that exceeded every expectation I had.
You can read this as a standalone, but I would 100% recommend starting with The Matchmaker and reading the entire series. You will not regret it! A huge 5 Star read and an absolute must for anyone who loves contemporary romance, billionaires, emotion and plenty of spice!

Billionaire in Hiding Hidden Identity Grumpy MMC Runaway Bride Forced Proximity Secrets and Scandals
The long awaited conclusion to the Beaufort Billionaires series does not disappoint! On the day of her wedding, Jude discovers her fiancee in a compromising position and heads to South Africa with her BFF Mel for a three week stay to get herself together before she faces her family. Mel convinces her to work out some of her tension with Declan, one of the employees at the resort, but after a passion-filled pitch-black night she won't forget, she realizes that it wasn't with Declan, but instead with Woody, a grumpy, broody coworker of Declan's and the man who seems to rile her up like no one else. Thus begins the journey to our HEA.
Since I don't want to spoil anything, I can't really write much more, but there are so many cool things about this story. The chemistry between Woody and Jude is electric and once they get beyond hating each other, the intensity of their feelings is amazing. Both have to confront people from their pasts and they find that things aren't always as they seem.
This mistaken identity to lovers story is the perfect weekend read if you are ready to have your heart broken and then put back together by our couple and the Beaufort family. The Risk Taker can be read as a standalone, but you will get a lot more out of it if you have read the rest of the Beaufort Billionaire series which tells the story of the family's tragic past and contains the HEAs of the surviving members of the family. If you haven't read them, you will still enjoy this story, but the lows won't hurt quite as much and the highs won't feel quite as good as if you've invested your time with this family.
One night, to fulfill all her darkest desires to get over her cheating ex-fiancé, was all Jude planned. What she got was the surprise of a lifetime. In the light of day, Jude learns her mystery man wasn't who she thought he was, yet he lights her world on fire. Everything spirals from there. Banter, sniping, jealousy, and outright rudeness fill the hours until Jude decides Woody is worth the risk. After that night, unraveling the mystery of who Woody is led to joy, sorrow, fulfillment, heartache, and ultimately, love. Sultry South African nights, dimly lit huts, sneaking around, and learning certain pertinent facts about each other all added to the allure of creating lasting memories. When Jude's time in paradise ends, she must return to New York City, leaving her newfound love behind. Will Woody have the courage to follow, or are the ill-fated lovers doomed to live on two separate continents, pining for a resolution to their conundrum?
Masterfully written, The Risk Taker truly is the perfect installment to close out this series and solve all the mysteries of the Beaufort family. South Africa sets the stage for their greatest devastation, New York City is the home for their growth, and a return to South Africa is their rebirth. No member of the family was left out, and you will be reintroduced to each character from the previous books with updates.
The Risk Taker was thrilling, heart-pounding, sweet, sexy, tearful, endearing, with a fairy-tale ending. Get ready to fall in love with Woody, the man of mystery.
✨BOOK REVIEW✨ The Risk Taker by Elle Nicoll ✨Summary✨ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ HEA: Yes POV: Dual Tropes: Fast Burn, Dislike to Lovers, Vacation Fling, Hidden Identity, Pierced MMC, Secret Billionaire
On Jude’s wedding day, she catches her fiancé cheating with her bridesmaid and best friend. Heartbroken, she escapes to South Africa for a two week getaway with her best friend. On her very first day she meets Woody, a grumpy, reclusive resort employee, and the two immediately start trading insults. But after a night that begins with a case of mistaken identity, their relationship quickly becomes something more. As Jude gets to know him, she discovers Woody isn’t really Woody at all. He’s Slade Beaufort, a billionaire heir the world believes is dead. Slade has his reasons for disappearing, convinced his family is better off without him, but Jude makes him question everything. Maybe it’s finally time to face his past…especially if he wants a future with her.
I was so excited for this book, and it absolutely did not disappoint! Ever since we get a small inkling at the end of book 1 of the series that Slade might still be alive, I’ve been dying to know what really happened. His story completely lived up to the hype. The reason he stayed away was heartbreaking, and once he let Jude in, the way he loved, protected, and absolutely worshipped her was everything I wanted. He’s grumpy with literally everyone else, but so soft when it comes to her. I loved Jude too. After everything she went through, she refused to let anyone tell her how she should handle her fiancé’s betrayal, and I loved how strong she was throughout the story.
This book was so hot. The spice starts early and keeps coming throughout the story, and the chemistry between Slade and Jude was off the charts. Let’s just say Slade fully earned those four peppers…broken bed anyone?
I’ll admit I was nervous going into this one. I absolutely loved book 1, but books 2 and 3 didn’t quite reach the same level for me, so my expectations were tempered. I didn’t need to worry though because this was the perfect ending to the series. It completely recaptured everything I loved about the first book and was absolutely worth the wait.
I was so excited for this book and the conclusion to the Beaufort Billionaires series. I skimmed the synopsis before reading the book, but was not prepared for this book and the twists! It had me staying up way to late to finish, but was worth it.
The 4th book starts with glimpse of a wedding that takes place in the 1st book. You don't know who is watching the wedding and you don't know why they're watching. It was a sad point of view that had you feeling for the character.
You meet Jude, who was about to be married, but catches her fiance cheating on her minutes before they're to walk down the aisle. After calling off the wedding, Jude and her best friend travel to a retreat location for 3 weeks, to decompress, relax and decide what Jude wants to do when she gets home.
You meet Woody, a secretive activities guy at the retreat center. He does odd jobs for money, keeps to himself, and you know he's a sweet guy but something's brewing under the surface.
Jude and Woody have an enemies to insta-lust kinda relationship. Starts off abrasive but then they make the most of their 3 weeks together before Jude goes home and Woody moves on (for a short bit!)
I won't give any spoilers, but I enjoyed this book. There were a few characters I felt could've had a deeper development, such as Jude's best friend and her dad. Jude's ex-fiance was a pain in the butt but I don't feel like he got the hate he deserved from Jude's parents.
Elle always has great easy reads with interesting plots. I recommend reading this whole series, and then reading her others!
Potential spoilers for those who haven’t read book one!
Elle Nicoll never disappoints! And what an ending to this amazing series The Risk Taker was! After the way book three ending I couldn’t wait to see what had happened to Slade based on the small cliffhanger we were left on… and omg when I tell you reading this book I laughed, I cried, I screamed and I swooned I’m telling no fibs! This read is like being on a rollercoaster in the best way. Jude was so easy to love immediately, she’s kind, genuine, a hard worker, and someone who is just looking to make the people she loves proud. And in hopes of making her father proud she almost makes the biggest mistake of her life… but that fleeting mistake led her to someone with the potential to be her future. Slade starts off as a grumpy, but protective alpha-hole who doesn’t really seem to care for to many people. He’s got a good reason for keeping everyone at arms length though. That is until Jude crashes his carefully crafted life. And if you think you love Jude and Slade individually… together they are OMG! Chemistry just flies right off the page and the spice will keep you just as hooked as the swoon-worthy moments will. Overall this is the perfect read for someone looking for amazing characters, couples who stand by each other through thick and thin, hilarious banter, plenty of spice, and just amazing writing that’s all topped off with an amazing happily ever after!
If you have read the previous books you will know this is the book we have all been waiting for and Elle does not disappoint. This book was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t stop reading and listening to it. I needed and wanted answers and this book gives them to us! Let’s start with Jude as we meet her first, after discovering her husband to be doing something he shouldn’t be doing with her bridesmaid before she is about to walk down the aisle, Jude and her bestie Mel go to SA for a girls trip retreat to get over the bitter betrayal. There she meets Declan and Woody! When a case of mistaken identity puts Jude and Woody together - sparks fly and the chemistry is off the charts. BUT Woody isn’t Woody! We all know who Woody is and OMG I was screaming in excitement when Jude makes him say it. We have our twin brother Beaufort back and his story broke my heart. I loved being back with the Beaufort’s again, this was the book we all didn’t know we needed and it was worth the wait. I highly recommend reading this series in order so you understand everything before digging into this book. Theodore and Madison did an amazing job (again - they do all main characters for the series) at bringing Slade and Jude to life. Thank you so much to Elle and her team for this eARC and ALC in exchange for my honest review
I absolutely love Elle Nicoll’s writing and I’ve been so invested in the Beaufort family, so finally getting the missing answers I’d been waiting for was everything I hoped it would be and delivered in such an amazing way.
It was so easy to fall in love with ‘Woody’ and Jude. Their story is emotional, heartfelt and beautifully written and I loved watching them navigate everything life had thrown at them. ‘Cowboy’ and Jude were exactly what each other needed to heal and their journey had me completely invested from beginning to end.
Woody is such a complex character, hiding behind his walls and carrying so much pain, while Jude brings a warmth and determination that slowly helps him see that perhaps he isn’t as lost as he believes. Their connection was everything and I loved seeing the layers of their story unfold.
Elle has once again created characters that feel real, flawed and incredibly easy to root for. The Risk Taker gave me the answers I’d been waiting for, while also delivering an emotional romance filled with healing, trust, secrets and plenty of heart.
Another fantastic addition to the Beaufort family and I honestly didn’t want this story to end. If you love emotional romances, complex characters and a story that pulls you in and makes you care deeply about the people at its heart, I highly recommend The Risk Taker.
I do not think there will be a series that will ever top The Beaufort series for me! I love everything Elle writes but this series is something special. From book one you are drawn in and for me it felt like I was right there experiencing all their emotions with them.
I highly recommend you read this series in order to fully understand The Beauforts.
It’s really difficult to write a review without spoiling it for those that haven’t read. I went into this final instalment with many theories and I was not disappointed at all!
Jude and Woody were always meant to be, they needed and found each other at the right time. They help each other and have an undeniable connection.
As Elle has said, the Beauforts needed answers and when they finally start to get them, I was so emotional. Elle has written this book in a way that makes you feel each and everyone of theirs as they try to understand.
Every HEA is deserved but this more than any! I love how other characters pop up and you will know what I mean if you have read Elles other books.
It’s sad to be leaving their world but it’s been an epic way to leave them all… oh and the spice, yeah Elle delivered on that too! 🥵🔥🌶️
Sweet baby cheeses!! This book in fact this whole series is legit one of the best I have read.
Now my problem. I want to tell you all about this book I want to yell about how good it is, How the story is sooo amazing and the smut OMG the smut is smutting in this one and its soooooo HOT!
But I don’t want to tell you about the amazing characters their struggles and how they find each other and pull each other out of the darkness and into the light. How they cross continents to be with each other no matter the cost.
This book needs to be read as part of the Beaufort Billionaires series! You seriously need to read this series the 4 books that make this up are all so very very worth it.
If you read these books, you will completely understand why this review is probably one of the hardest, I have had to write. This book is the full stop the end of the road and reveals the mystery that has been finely woven throughout all the other books.
I read this book with my heart in my throat and tears pouring down my cheeks. This book made me feel all the feels and what a ride!
If you take anything from any of my ramblings about books, please add this to your TBR and give it a go.
Five stars are nowhere near enough for this book. Ms. Nicoll has left the best for last with The Risk Taker. I was not ready for the angst and the emotions that ran through me. I finally have all the answers to all the questions that were rolling around in my head as I read the three books that came before this one. Although I needed the answers, I am heartbroken that this series has come to an end. From the beginning, Ms. Nicoll gives us two MCs who know how to push one another's buttons. Being enemies right from the start, after one night of heated passion, things take a turn. Jude, looking for herself and starting over, and Woody, the man who is a mystery to her, have more in common than you would think. She pushes him with questions as to why he is in South Africa, and he pushes her to give in a little. They could relate and sympathize with one another but it was the connection that emerged as they spent time together that melted my heart. There is so much more I want to tell you, but I do not believe in giving spoilers. Just know that: 1. this story will have your emotions all over the place, 2. you might at times yell at both Jude and Woody, and 3. it is impossible to put down, so make sure you have time to read it from cover to cover.
Fabulous ending with everything wrapped up perfectly
After three books where the steam was plentiful and the love was forever, this one surpasses them all. Woody and Jude's story was completely unputdownable. You need to read this series in order, for the best experience, and try not to read any spoilers if possible. A book for each of the Beaufort Family and a mystery for us to solve. Building on that mystery, as each family member falls in love while still grieving, this is the ending we've all been waiting for and it definitely didn't disappoint. I'm not going to give anything away but I have to tell you that this is my second favourite of Elle's books, and that's high praise indeed. Rachel and Tanner from Discovering Mr. X (Elle's second book) have long held my heart and, though there have been a few contenders for the top spot, no one has yet overtaken them. The silver medal is now firmly in the hands of Woody and Jude and I can't see that changing. Elle is the only MF author that I read now and I can't see that changing either. Her writing is always engaging, her characters very human and flawed, her world-building a masterclass in plotting and planning, her imagination reaching new heights with each book. Long may she continue in the same vein.
Wow, what a beautiful conclusion to this series. Spade Beaufort
Wow! What a beautiful conclusion to this series. Slade Beaufort should be dead, they buried him 3 years ago, they've grieved for him, they've missed him massively but what will happen if that's not the case? What if Slade misreads a message from his family that results in him staying hidden? Jude is getting married, to a surgeon, she believes she loves him, her Dad certainly does!! Then minutes before she's due to walk down the isle she catches him and her friend doing more with their lips and hands than they should be. She storms out and leaves the country. A holiday in South Africa sounds perfect. During the holiday she meets a guy, woody. He carves driftwood in his spare time as well as working at the retreat. They both have issues they need to deal with but Woodys are huge and Judes not sure he will ever open up to her. The time comes to head home, Jude needs to see Woody one more time but when she gets to where where his boat was moored, he's gone, sailed away! Once again Jude feels let down, will she ever find happiness? Will Woody find himself before it's too late?
Brilliant, I loved this book, the whole series was amazing.
Wow! What a mind-blowing finale for this series, exceeded all my expectations, and I have to say that this book blew my mind. The way Elle's mind works never ceases to amaze me; that's why she is one of my favorite authors ever!
This is the end of an era; saying goodbye to the Beauforts was bittersweet. This family will always have a special place in my heart.
This book was filled with banter and tension, and the spice was out of this world hot; the chemistry between these two is unbelievable and just meant to be. The way they helped each other heal, the way Jude fought for him, it was just a masterpiece. Any theories I had went down the drain; the queen of plot twists did it again.
The narrators were a show apart; @theo_and_madi are phenomenal; the way they capture the essence of the characters is breathtaking, and I will never get enough!
This book is about forgiveness, healing, and family, but it's so much more; it's a life lesson.
What a beautiful end. I absolutely love it, and I can't wait to see what Elle comes up with next!
If you didn't read this series, run to KU and download it NOW! You will thank me later!
This is the fourth and final book in the Beaufort Billionaires series and is quite the finale. I do recommend reading this with the other 3 to appreciate it better, but it is not required. I really don’t know how to review this book because I don’t want to give away any spoilers. You want to go in blind to this one and just expect one heck of a story.
𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑵𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔: Woody & Jude Yardley 𝑺𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: Cape Town & New York
Jude discovers her fiance and her bridesmaid having an affair the day of their wedding and she leaves him. She meets an instructor, Woody in Cape Town and they have a wild vacation fling but when it appears things are getting more serious, we see one of them pulling away. Woody has a lot of secrets, and even his secrets have secrets. As always, Elle has the most beautiful pacing of her stories with the most heart wrenching third act breakup but then fixes everything to give them the perfect HEA.
The audio was duet narration by Theodore and Madison and they really brought all the emotions to their performance. This was such an easy to listen audio that will just consume you in this world that Elle has created.
