Shane Purdy is a college graduate with a Bachelors in Computer Science. At a young age he became fascinated with Fantasy books after reading the Wereworld series by Curtis Jobling, which led to a love of reading that continues to this day.

When he was younger you could almost always find him with a book in his hand (when he wasn’t busy with Band activities that is). As he got older, he started reading online webnovels as well. In June of 2021, after reading thousands of books, he decided to take the plunge and write a book of his own, starting with his first series, Dungeon from the Void.

He writes both high and low progression fantasy novels of varying genres, including Dungeon Core, LitRPG, Cultivation, Sci-Fi and more.

He does not use any sort of social media for his books other than Reddit, he has no Facebook pages, and his Facebook account is private and not public. Therefore if anyone finds public Facebook or other social media accounts outside of Reddit or Discord claiming to be him, they are fake.

A good story but light on RPG elements

A good book, a pretty good series. The issue I am having with the story is that it’s light on RPG elements. You don’t know where the characters stats are applied because she has very few of them. No health bars, no mana bars, she has no individual agency you don’t know what she achieves as her levels go up. The other issue is, why does she go hunting for loot when she can’t use any of it, that’s part of the main joys of the RPG genre, for the main character to use the loot that he or she receives. Like the story, but these few elements bother me and keep me from giving the book 5 stars.

Amazing Series So Far

So far I've read the following Shaun Purdy series.

1. Rise of Winter Wolf
2. Wolf of Blood Moon
3. Reapers Resurgence
4. Plan to check out The Undying Magician next.

Lets face it he write amazing works of art that leaves one lost in his imagination for hours on end. So far I'm loving Reapers Resurgence and looking forward to the next book in the series.

I was pleasantly surprised by this installment. I went into this expecting Alexia to blow by everyone else, but it was nice to see her struggle. I appreciate OP characters as much as the next guy, but after a while, there’s no suspense. Glad to see this one, while still pretty much fight scenes throughout most of the book, which I personally like, I felt there were more stakes and obstacles to overcome for the character.

This story is just a bunch of happenstance. No real threads, just whatever is needed whenever it is needed. I also think the author is paid for every use of the word 'quantum'.
