Hunter Graves has survived the opening days of the Trial, bloodied, hardened, and marked by a new Exiled Tyrant. What began as a struggle for survival has turned into calculated evolution, each fight pushing him to grow faster, stronger, and colder than before. But the deeper he carves into this world, the clearer it becomes that something is wrong. The Trial isn’t following its rules.
When Hunter uncovers a ritual of flames and blood, the illusion of order shatters. Dungeons shift. Laws of the System twist. Someone, or something, is tampering with the foundations of the Multiverse itself. And as interference mounts, the Overlords begin to take notice, ancient beings eager to see the defiant mortal who refused their favor finally fall.
But Hunter doesn’t kneel. He doesn’t beg. He adapts. He kills. While overlords and monsters wager on his death, he sharpens his red mana and ascends beyond what even they expect. Every battle brings him closer to mastering what it means to be an Exiled Tyrant—and what that title truly costs.
Hunter isn’t here to obey the Overlords. He’s here to create a path for him in this new reality, and anyone who stands in his way.
My kingdom for an editor and proofreader! The story continues and it is interestint, but the numbers are bouncing all over the place. Things are contradictory from the first book, levels going up and down based on whatever is being felt at the time. Just..write out a timeline for this stuff and follow it, please!!! Once again, will continue th3 series due to the story but....it is hard to read sometimes.
I guess I'd better write a review for this one considering what I thought of book 1.
This one shows some glacial MC personality progress, and a few people start to realize that he may have a point. He has a point alright, but in book 1 he was laser-focused on "efficiency". My definition doesn't include being quite so masochistic and anti-social, but at least the anti-social bit I understand. Nothing really changes in this book, but glimmers of a bit of a personality begin to appear.
The overlords start weighing in on things, so I anticipate more of that in book 3. I also hope that he isn't needlessly obtuse with his pixie observer, as that is just tedious reading as he refuses all forms of help.
Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off. Tons of fighting, strategy and people trying to hold on to a broken system in their insane new reality. Hunter continues to kick butt and fake name while making everyone around him uncomfortable about it.
We're back to the Primal Hunter vibe. Story continues to be interesting though. The end of the story still lacks professionalism. Makes me uninterested in the next book. We'll see how I feel in a few weeks.
Lots of both grammar and statistics errors. Fewer than book 1, but still distracting. The last several percentage of the book is all highlighted like all of book 1, so, better, but still not great.
Need.more healing magic but besides that really awesome read I like the MC but his helper is annoying as he'll dunno why authors always put characters like that in books
I thought I would give this a try. I figured it couldn't get any worse than book one, I was wrong. A sociopath with no driving direction to lead a pointless story with an annoying sidekick that provides no real help.
Matter Destructor, book two of the series of the same name, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Ah, now the trope takes a 180 and the plot gets more complex and the stakes get higher. Great tension and story development.
