Liam is the second book in The Calhoun Brothers series. In my opinion this series is best read in order. This is Liam, who thinks he is human and Theo an omega whlf shifters story. The blurb gives you a great idea of what to expect from the story. I loved returning to Minerva Howe’s Dragon Veil Universe even though the dragons have passed through the veil. It's great to see more of the wolf pack and the Calhoun brothers who were left behind. I read this story in one night because I was so caught up in the story. I loved seeing these two come together and build a relationship. I really can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

It was really nice. I'm glad Minerva didn't let go of the shifters in the mountain when the dragons left because they certainly hold place for good stories, and this one is proof of that. I'm really enjoying seeing the brothers make a life in the werewolf pack and the old dragon den

As the second installment of the Calhoun Brothers (which is in the Dragon Veil world), this book is a delightful addition that brings readers back to the abandoned Rocky Mountain dragons' homestead. The place comes full circle as it once more becomes a sanctuary for those hiding from the hardships of the world.
Theo is a loving man who has lost his pack after a cruel attack. He has his friend's baby to care for and nowhere to be safe until he stumbles upon an empty homestead high in the mountains. Not one to scorn divine providence, he moves in and makes it a home for himself and little Gael. While he is not used to fending for himself, Theo has the wherewithal to keep growing and adapting in order to survive his new circumstances. He very much could have been trapped in a pity party or scared stiff from all the tragedy, but he chose to rise above and keep moving forward instead. Despite starving conditions, he stays steadfast in his dream that his Alpha will come. He is the kind of character you would want caring for those you love.
Liam, on the other hand, has a secure life. His business is solid, he loves his brothers, and his life is predictable. But that is part of the problem, it is too predictable. And the top of the mountain is calling to him. He doesn't know why, but it is. He is also a man in denial of his were heritage. . . and even if his wolf bit him on the butt he wouldn't have acknowledged it for so much of the book. Even though his brother Rory is a wolf shifter, Liam just does not want to admit he is anything more than human.
The relationship between the MCs is so tender and sweet. The support one another as they each work through their problems. They both love Gael as if the little one was their own flesh and blood. There is gentleness when it needed and strength when called for. Hopefully this small family makes many appearances in future books in the series.
While reading the books prior in the world of Dragon Veil is not 100% needed, it will help the story and setting make sense much faster. Reading Rory's book first is highly recommended.

This is the second book in the Calhoun Brothers series and part of the Dragon Veil Universe. This book is not a standalone read. It really should be read in order. This is the story of Liam and Theo. Liam is the brother who finds things. That is his talent. He also firmly believes that he is human. Even if his one brother developed into a werewolf. Liam is plain, old, ordinary human. He also has a driving need to go up the mountain. Something up there needs him and is calling to him. Theo is an omega wolf shifter. He escaped hunters with his friend's baby. He found shelter in a dragon's home at the top of the mountain. Unfortunately he and the baby are close to starving to death when Liam and his brother come upon them. This is their story. The book is very well written and easy to read. I received a complimentary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved how Theo knew instantly that Liam was an alpha wolf shifter and kept the knowledge to himself to support Liam. Though the ability to communicate mentally was a big clue towards fated mates. I really enjoyed this book. I sat down and read from cover to cover in one sitting. I loved returning to Minerva Howe’s Dragon Veil Universe. I look forward to the next book by this author.

"Liam" is the second book in Minerva Howe's The Calhoun Brothers series. The Calhoun's run the trading post that the dragons used before they crossed the Veil as well as the werewolves and supes who live away from human cities . Liam's talent is finding things and the mountain is calling him to come find. At the start of spring, he and his brother travel up the mountain on ATVs. They find a fortress that should've disappeared with the dragons, and an omega with baby starving to death. Theo, an omega wolf, along with a friend's baby escaped from hunters who destroyed their pack. He and baby Gael made it to the fortress to wait for the alpha who he dreamed of to come.
Liam is a good man, but a little whiny. A case of "He doeth protest too much" in regards to his obvious were side. Theo enabled him a bit with his denial, which was a bit annoying. And the other alphas were pretty much useless, just watching. Although their "Hello, you're communicating telepathically with Theo" was falling on unwilling ears.
I hope that Liam, Theo and their babies don't just cameo in the next few stories. They have such a tender, caring relationship. Not to spoil any plot arcs, the old dragon den played a part in this tale, and probably in the next few.

It was great getting to learn more about Liam and his interesting calling, especially since it led to Theo’s mysterious arrival. I really enjoy the characters in this pack, and I would’ve loved even more time with them, particularly Liam and Rory as Liam tried to understand what was happening in his body and what it all meant.
One thing I always appreciate about this series is the kids. They bring such natural joy to the story, and little Gael was an adorable addition. On the flip side, it was difficult at times to tell who was speaking in the dialogue. Also, while the italics usually helped, there were a few instances where it wasn’t clear whether someone was speaking out loud or just silently in their heads.
There were also quite a few characters introduced at once, and it took me a bit to keep everyone straight, especially when Brant suddenly started being called Ben. Still, I love that these pack families keep expanding, and I’m excited to learn more about them. Ryan is getting antsy so I’m getting happy for him to find his mate. A couple of Liam and Ryan’s other brothers were mentioned too, so I’m hoping we’ll eventually get answers about them and why these Calhoun brothers aren’t just ordinary humans.

This series connects to several others, so there are plenty of characters who make cameos, but there is no trouble reading the tale as just part of the ‘Calhoun Brothers’ series, which started with “Rory”. I look forward to reading about others in the pack finding their mates and having more of the mysteries explained.

When he finally decides to go whether they approve or not, he will find the home is occupied by Theo and baby Gael. Hiding there from hunters, they are malnourished and in need of help. This will lead Liam to find out that, like his brother Rory, he too is a wolf shifter with a mate, Theo. Taking Theo and the baby back down to Loyal and Niall’s pack will have both the baby and Theo thriving in the care of the pack. But bigger things are coming for Theo and Liam and it will take Liam by surprise. They will find themselves taking over the dragon’s home and soon, Liam will find he has a pack of his own. His happily ever after will come with the arrival of his brother Ryan, his new pack and the baby daughter he and Theo are blessed with!

What he discovers surprised everyone. Theo ran when his pack was destroyed. It was just him and a small baby, Gael, that he saved. When he found an old homestead, he thought he had found home. Then Liam shows up just in time to prevent them from dying due to the lack of food.
Minerva Howe is a talented storyteller who loves to pen a story that leaves the main characters happy but with questions, lots of questions. Liam and his brothers did not think they were wolves as such they did not expect to have mates or becomes alphas and/or omegas. However, life finds a way. The old dragon home was perfect for Liam and his small but growing family. A wonderful story filled with love, cuddles, and beautiful babies, it is sure to leave you with a smile.

This is the second of the Calhoun series and my favorite in quite a while from the extended Dragon Veil universe. After Rory’s sudden surprising reveal as a wolf shifter, older brother Liam finds himself called up the mountain to… something or someone. When he finally arrives, he’s amazed to discover the reappearance of the old dragon homestead, but a starving omega wolf named Theo and his adoptive son Gael. From there things move incredibly fast as Liam rolls with learning Theo is his mate, that he’s a wolf himself, and an alpha one at that before volunteering to take over and protect the homestead. I like how the old place is coming back into the world with more than a touch of mystery about the circumstances and conditions involved. Liam and Theo are so sweet together and Liam’s steadiness makes him perfect to step up as the newest pack’s alpha. I have to wonder what more Niall knows about the goings on that he’s not saying. Fortunately we have more Calhoun brothers with probable stories to let us find out.

We get a little slice of the Dragon Veil magic in this entertaining book, along with detailed world building and a lot of cuddling and spice. Liam finally makes his way up the mountain in spring, after feeling a pull to go there for months. When he gets up there, he finds a starving Theo (an omega wolf) with his previous pack mate's baby, Gael, hiding in the former dragon's house. They have been waiting for him, but Liam can't understand how he can be Theo's mate if he's not a wolf. It takes a while for his latent wolf to come out, but Theo is very patient. I like the part where Liam first shifts into a wolf, it's cute.
It really intrigued me that the dragon house magically came back for a new pack of wolves to live in. I would definitely live there if I could, especially with the indoor private hot springs! Also, it's a trademark of this author's books that the side characters are as lovable as the MCs. You will want to read it all in one sitting, if you are anything like me.

This is book two in the author’s Calhoun Brothers series and features Liam, a new werewolf shifter and Theo, the omega he’d felt calling to him for months and who had just appeared in the dragon’s old home in the mountains, starving, afraid and caring for a baby.
All of the Calhoun brothers we’ve met so far have been so sweet. Like Rory (from the book bearing the same name), Liam was a sweet, helpful man, one who had never dreamed he could ever be anything other than pure human until coming across his mate and finding there was more to himself than he’d ever imagined.
I loved both Liam and Theo. Both guys were genuinely sweet and, along with the young baby Theo had rescued, made such a precious family and a great addition to the pack. As with Rory, there was a bit of a mystery regarding the white wolves from Theo’s old pack but I’m looking forward to learning more about them as well as getting to know Ryan, another of the Calhoun siblings, better. 4.25 stars

Liam feels strongly pulled towards the mountains. His brothers convince him that he's imagining it, and to wait until spring to check things out. Liam and wolfpack friend Keegan are surprised to see that the dwelling that the dragons inhabited has returned. Still feeling the pull, Liam enters and finds an emaciated omega werewolf and an equally weak baby.
Theo was on the run from werewolf hunters, and took refuge in the dragons' former compound. He's relieved to see his fated mate, Liam, has found him, and collapses--too weak to remain conscious.

Liam is being drawn to the abandoned castle of the dragons, and he just can't ignore it; it's like a beacon. Once there he discovers an omega wolf carrying a baby. Theo is his name and he's protecting himself and this baby from those who killed his pack. Thus begins the second book of this Calhoun Brothers series. This is a charming story of attraction, protection, defending against evil, establishing a pack on the dragon mountain and Liam, basically, discovering that like his brother Rory, he is a wolf. What about the remaining brothers? One has to wait for more of this series to discover the answer. Ms. Howe will leave any reader with a pondering mind. This is my voluntary review for the ARC I was given.

I love these visits back to the Dragon Veil universe. The Calhoun brothers have always been interesting characters and I love that we're getting to see their stories. Liam finally decided that he was going to follow the feeling that had been nagging at him for ages and went back to where the dragons lived whether people wanted him to or not. I'm glad he did because the sweetness between between him and poor Theo was perfect. I did feel a bit for Liam and his conviction that he wasn't a wolf - he definitely needed to rethink that when he found Theo. That kind of mental shift is hard but I liked that he had Theo and his brothers to help him through it. I'm really looking forward to seeing more from these guys!

Liam felt called to explore the mountains where the dragon's place used to be before they passed through the veil. He was drawn to see what was calling to him and finally insisted that he go, which turned out to be just what Theo, whose pack was devastated and those who survived scattered, and Gael, the baby of his friend, needed. They were up there sheltering in what was left of the dragon's keep and severely malnourished. Something about Theo, an omega wolf, called to Liam and Theo recognized Liam as his mate/alpha. Liam does not think so as he does not think he is a wolf. Turns out he is wrong and not only is Theo his mate, he is a wolf. I am looking forward to more of the Calhoun brothers' stories.

New beginnings! Liam has felt driven to go up to the dragon lair, but everyone told him not to. When he finally can no longer fight the compulsion, he finds Theo and baby Gael emaciated and near death. Liam feels the pull and automatically becomes their protector. Lots of questions, what happened to the dragons; what brought Theo to the mountain; what do his new compulsions mean to Liam? Great story, lots of questions, a few answers and new adventures opening up. Delightful characters, new mystery on what's going on in the world on this side of the Veil. Liam, is amazing and Theo is a rock star. Excellent story, great start of a new series, fun fantastic characters and looking forward to their stories. Nice cover art! Well done! I know I have said this before but it bears repeating. I love this author’s Dragon Veil Universe series in its entirety. I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that the wolf pack left behind and the Calhoun brothers are getting their stories told too. Liam is the older dependable Calhoun brother, so it makes perfect sense he would be given a brand new pack and a sweet mate to make a safe haven up high on the old dragon compound. Theo is his perfect match. Such a lovely read!!! I admit that I inhaled this story in one sitting. I can’t wait to see what is next up for this mountain pack in their changing world.

I am so happy to be back in the Dragon Veil Universe. The dragons may have crossed the veil but there is still a lot going on back in the Uinta mountains. Here we have the story of Liam, one of the Calhoun brothers, and his mate, Theo, who arrives on the mountain not a moment too late. The story arc from previous books continues and we also get to enjoy the company of other members of the mountain community that we have met before. I for one am eagerly awaiting the continuation of this series and heartily recommend the entire Dragon Veil Universe to everyone who loves a good shifter series with an overreaching arc.

I'm so glad that the rest of the Calhoun brothers are finding their mates. For whatever reason, Liam's wolf is latent and I wish/hope we find out why that is. Poor Theo, is on the run for his life with a baby named Gael. Gael's parents were killed by the hunters and Theo has done everything he can to keep him safe. He comes across the Dragon's home up on the mountain, which had previously disappeared when the dragons crossed the veil. I think it felt that it was needed so that is why it came back. Just my opinion, nothing says it one way or the other. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

The Calhoun have been a big part of this world from the beginning, I’m so glad they are starting to get their own stories, Liam and Theo are absolutely adorable together and the way Minerva brought the dragons homestead back into the fold as a way for Liam to become the Alpha he truly is was so wonderful. I loved that we got to learn more about Ryan and can’t wait for him to find his mate and get his happy ending.
Minerva has done such a wonderful job of intertwining these series but still making sure the main couple take the spotlight and get the happiness they deserve. I’m looking forward to what she brings us next. ❤️😁

Liam and Theo story was interesting with a bit of mystery, magic and a new couple that finds its happiness.
I liked how Liam embraced his wolf side, how attentive and protective he’s with his new family, and how he took responsibility of the new members of his fledging pack.
I loved their moments together and the bonding time, as well as how they adapted to their new lifestyle.
I loved the birthing scene, and all the help that was provided during it.
I liked the story and I’m looking forward to the next couple.

I love that the author created a universe where we have dragons, wolves, and humans who thought they were humam, but who turn out to be just a bit more. Liam knew something was calling him to the old dragon house, but he did not expect it to completely turn his life around. Finding Theo and realizing he was not quite as human as he thought was a huge surprise. But soon their life is moving forward and the home that was the dragons is now once again a home filled with family and friends. I feel like we will be seeing a Ryan story soon and I am ready.

The Dragonveil Universe saga continues in this book where Liam finally makes it up the mountain to where the dragons used to live. His need finally outweighs his manners and he arrives to discover an omega wolf and a young baby on the edge of starvation. Of course, there are a lot of questions to be answered, mainly whether or not the Calhouns are actually wolves. Liam gets over it quickly, though, and they build a sweet family with other wolves escaping bad situations. I love this world and eat these books up like candy as soon as one arrives!

I love this authors books; be it about dragons or wolves. This one features Liam Calhoun, who he and his brothers run the trading post. For the last 6 months he has been needing to go up to the top of the mountain and someone or something was calling to him. When he goes up, he meets Theo and baby Gael. Theo has been on the run with his friends baby for a while and Liam brings him down to safety. This is the start of the story with how Liam learnt that he was an alpha and that Theo was his mate. I loved this book and here is hoping that Ryan is next.

Oh Liam. He truly owns my heart. This was such a fantastic book. I am so glad the author decided to stay in the mountains even though the dragons left. The storyline is going to suck you into the book. I could not put the book down. There was just something so special about Liam. I loved the way the main characters interacted with each other. They had such a beautiful connection between the two of them I am really enjoying this series I honestly really enjoy the author I don't think they've put out a book that I haven't read yet I really do recommend you give her a try

For months Liam has heard a calling to go explore the top of the mountain where the dragons used to live. Everyone was trying to stop him, but this time he wasn’t taking no for an answer. So Keegan finally agrees to take him up as far as he can on the four wheeler. When they arrive they find a starving omega and an infant. They take them to Loyal's pack half way down the mountain. This is the beginning for an adventure and change for Liam. This universe is so much fun to read and how the different books link together but are totally unique.

Book 2 and the mystery of the lost wolves is getting more and more intriguing. Along with the Calhoun brothers finding their wolf when experiencing the pull of their fated mate, this was really a good romance. A lot of sweetness and togetherness. I was glad Liam finally was able to find his own and his home. Not too angsty...ridiculously sweet and romantic...no violent encounters so just togetherness and family bonding. Lovely...I can't wait to read book 3.

I really enjoyed this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I was completely hooked to this book from the very beginning when Liam found Theo and the baby, and my heart broke for them and what they'd been through. I loved them both; liked the dynamic between them and the way their relationship developed. They were really sweet together and formed such a strong connection. I really liked the supporting characters as well.
A sweet hurt/comfort romance. 4 stars
