You’re Embarrassing Yourself was such a funny, smart, and genuinely enjoyable read. It actually made me laugh out loud several times, which doesn’t happen that often with books. It is incredibly and weirdly relatable. As a bi-national, bisexual woman also trying to navigate her twenties and trying to understand her place in this universe, so many of Akhavan’s observations about identity, relationships, family, and figuring yourself out really resonated with me. She writes about awkwardness, relationships and vulnerability with so much humour and honesty that even the more personal moments feel warm rather than heavy. It’s like having a talk with your big sister.

Very funny, beautifully written, and refreshingly relatable. I loved it.
