Alex says he wants me in his life, but he treats me like a glorified accessory. Then there is Greyson. Well, that little puppy dog is going to learn very quickly that this woman has claws. There is something about his cheeky smile and warm presence that captivates me, but if he strays too close, he's going to get scratched. I'll forget about him soon enough. Women like me take what we're given. We don't get happy endings.
Forget gymnastics. I should become a surgeon. The heart is a useless organ anyway.

Pussycat is the deliciously dark finale of the Love and Madness trilogy. Harlow has descended into madness, Scarlett has fallen for a murderer, but what will become of Katherine Kyle? In Pussycat, you get to find out. The aspiring gymnast has spent the majority of her adult life being paraded around as arm candy to Strathbrook's elite, but a chance encounter with a handsome stranger might change all that. With a sarcastic attitude and a dry sense of humor, all she's known is how to push people away. Will Greyson Richards, a humble man with a not so humble package, be the one to finally tame this Kitty Kat?

This is a 4.25 for me. This book was not just about a new couple but also the conclusion of the series wrapping up storylines from books 1&2 and what a way to close out the series. So, the 1st half is from the POV of Greyson and Kat establishing their story and connection while the 2nd half has more POVS about 3 more I think to close out the storylines. I think I preferred the 2nd half of the book simply because I loved seeing all the characters from the other books and interacting with them again. Especially Ace and Harlow who are the Joker/Harley Quinn couple and I just love their unhinged behavior especially ACE and how he would burn down the world for Harlow and also sit back and watch her madness at work. I think the storylines were closed out well for the series and I enjoyed it as a whole.
Now for the 1st half of the book like I mentioned this was focused on Kat and Greyson and I really liked their black cat and golden retriever energy. Now while they may be different in personalities, they have a lot of similarities at least in their struggles, so they also really made sense as a couple and I think they also had great chemistry. I mean I really enjoyed how even though it was a relatively new relationship they were all in and willing to do anything for the other and I mean anything. I am always down for ride or die characters.
Overall, I enjoyed Kat and Greyson's story, and I loved the how all the loose ends were handled. Those last couple chapters were really good. I do want to mention that if anyone is concerned with all the POVs the author did a really great job keeping them straight that they didn't get confusing and really added to the story. I have also enjoyed the author's interpretation of the batman universe to give it a fun new take.

This book is about Kat who really needs to stop dating narcissist, especially the most recent one Alex who thinks because he pays her bills, he can control her and treat her as an accessory and not a person. She was willing to suffer through it while putting herself through college because her gymnast scholarship is not to cover everything but then she met Greyson who was so sweet and persistent that he got under her skin like a little puppy dog. But even with his warm personality he needs to remember that women like her don't get happy endings and he would be better off staying away before he ends up getting scratched. Instead, women like her just take what their given and keep their hearts locked up because we aren't the ones who end up with happy endings. But with all the chaos that their friends are bringing their way they might end being what the other one needs to get through it to where they have no choice but to give their hearts to one another.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Loved this series! Greyson is so sweet in comparison to the other characters but it is evened out nicely throughout the book. Kit, Harlow and Scarlett show how they over came numerous struggles and battle together with their men. Definitely suggest you check it out if you like dark romance. Please check triggers before reading. Thank you for letting read your Arc Amara❤️
How fun! I think this was my favorite of the trilogy! Kat and Greysons love story was softer than the last two, but Amara still made it a wild ride in the best way! I devoured this book in one day. What a wonderful ending to the trilogy, great work Amara and thank you for the advanced copy!
This story takes place during the events of the previous books in the series, so it starts with just Kat and Greyson’s story and POVs, and then once the timelines join up again, Harlow and the other characters’ POVs get reintroduced when they reappear in the story. I loved that it was structured this way because it gave us time to really get to know Kat and Greyson and establish that relationship and storyline before looping back and bringing everyone else in! It also helped to explain why her friends had all been kind of MIA in her life until the point that they reappeared.
I’ve not read many books with more than 2 POVs, but it was easier than I thought to switch between them all and keep track because they’re all clearly their own characters and were quite distinguishable from the way they were written and how interacted with the other characters.
Pussycat felt different to the other books in the series on account of how sweet Greyson is, but the story meshed well with the previous books. He’s just the sweetest, softest soul, which I loved in contrast to the rest of the characters in this series! I loved how caring he was with Kat, even when she doesn’t want it at the beginning.
During the fight scene near the end of the book, I really liked that you genuinely couldn’t tell who was on who’s side, and that despite the 3 girls and their partners mostly being friends, Kat and Greyson were going up against everyone else. I’m so glad that we got to go back in time and experience Harlow’s POV to explain everything that had happened leading up to the fight. The reference to Miss Vixen with Scarlett experimenting with a paralytic drug was so clever to tie it back to that story!!
Without giving any spoilers, there are events that happen in the book that some people may find predictable or repetitive, but I thought it fit so well with the absolutely chaotic nature of the series and the characters. I also think that because it’s such a wacky dark romance and the characters are borderline psychotic, the plot twists work so well for the storyline! It was definitely not as gruesome as I expected and focused more on the twisted nature of the plot, which I appreciated because I don’t typically enjoy the more gory aspects of dark romances.
The ending felt quite refreshing for such a twisted dark romance, because it went back to “normal” and we saw Kat and Greyson happily living their lives. And the little sprinkling of spice at the end was perfect!!
I love the references and little glimpses we get into the retellings and how the characters relate to the original stories, whilst still being their own people and still being “normal” citizens with jobs and fully fledged backgrounds! And whilst they are loose retellings, they’re still original storylines and feel fresh!
I would definitely recommend reading them all back to back for the best reading experience!! It was so fun to read Pussycat whilst messaging Amara / N. J. the whole way through with my thoughts (most of which were about Greyson being the softest boy)!!
First of all - do not read this book unless you’ve read the first two books in the series (Babydoll and Miss Vixen) - they are all connected and together tell one cohesive story.
Of all three couples, Greyson was by far the sweetest character - he was such a golden retriever and I loved him so much. Kat was, fittingly, a black cat character - this was a Catwoman retelling after all!
That said - these books made me realize how little I actually know about the Batman/DC universe (sorry, I’ve always been more into Marvel 🫣). At one point, my husband asked about my current read, and I was telling him about this book/series - I mentioned that they were Batman villain retellings and the MMC in this one was Grayson and I had no idea who that was in relation to comic book characters… he informed me that Robin’s real name was Dick Grayson. Whoops! Now I know…
Despite not knowing all of the comic book lore this series is based on, I still really enjoyed these (and book three was my favourite one). Kat and Grayson had such a great bond, although I was yelling at my kindle a few times because they just needed to talk to each other! They both had lots of trauma, leading to them both being a bit emotionally stunted when it came to communication. Sigh.
I enjoyed how the first half of this book focused entirely on Kat and Grayson, building their relationship before really intertwining it with the couples from the first two books (and also including some chapters from their POVs)… I think this book included seven different POVs in total? It’s not a storytelling method I enjoy all the time (too many different people telling the story can become a bit confusing), but when done properly it’s very effective.
If you’re interested in this series, definitely check those trigger warnings! This is a dark romance with murders and morally grey characters and descriptive sex scenes.
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of this one!
We’ve finally reached the conclusion of the Love and Madness trilogy, and what an ending it was. Pussycat is a Catwoman retelling that shifts the focus to Katherine and Greyson — characters we’ve met before but finally get to see take center stage.
Katherine is a tough cookie, her walls built high from past trauma, convinced she isn’t worthy of love. Then along comes Greyson, with his own troubled past but the softest golden retriever energy. He’s kind, caring, and would burn the world down for Katherine without hesitation. These two aren’t as unhinged as the other couple in the series — they just want peace, comfort, and a life away from the chaos — but of course, chaos finds them anyway.
They’re thrown into impossible situations and manipulated by the absolutely vile Bryce. And let me just say… his ending? So satisfying.
We also get some Ace and Harlow moments midway through the book, and I didn’t realize how much I missed those two. Their chaotic, vicious energy is unmatched, and I loved continuing their story alongside this new romance.
Every couple in this trilogy has brought something different, dark, and addictive to the table. It was an epic conclusion… and I’m honestly not ready to say goodbye to this world yet.

I really enjoyed Pussycat by Amara Rose. From the very first page, there’s this electric tension that instantly pulls you in and keeps you completely hooked. It has that addictive quality where you tell yourself “just one more chapter” and suddenly you’re halfway through the book.
Even though each book in the series follows a different couple, all three stories intertwine beautifully and come together to create one cohesive and compelling overall story. I loved how naturally everything connects — it makes the world feel bigger and more immersive.
The pacing is strong, the tension is perfectly balanced, and the chemistry keeps the pages turning. Overall, this was such a fun and engaging read, and I genuinely enjoyed the entire journey. Definitely a series I’d recommend if you love spicy romance with depth and strong character dynamics.
Kat and Greyson are my favorite out of this series, Kat is a fighter till the end and Greyson and the sweetest boyfriend to her and Bryce got what he deserved. This story keeps you guessing till the end.
I waited to read the full series to write my review. Overall a good read. I enjoyed how each of the series brought back each couple. These are each a quick read with an unhinged MMC and FMCs that held their own.
The final book in the Love and Madness Trilogy, out on 14th February 2026. This final chapter in the L&M trilogy was by far the best of the 3. Still gruesome and fun, but a more gentler love story between Kat and Greyson. Both are messed up, and have a history they want to forget, but as fate brings them together, they try to not allow their growing feelings for each other cause any obstacles. Or so was the plan. A whirlwind of surprises and shock, this book had me gripped all the way through, and, for my soppy old heart, giving me the happy endings I was so hoping for. Thankyou Amara for allowing me to arc read this book, for all your hard work, and for your gloriously twisted mind.
