Four years have passed since Victoria Bredehorst was killed by an abusive husband, her soul transported back in time to Ancient Egypt and into the body of Mayati, wife of Khaemhat, Priest of Osiris. The powerful Khaemhat, knowing that Mayati has been somehow transformed, opens himself up to the possibility of love, hoping this time to find a woman he can take completely into his heart without reservation. Victoria, traumatized from her violent past, begins to experience love for the first time, sharing her bed and her life with the passionate man who thinks of himself as her husband. Then fate steps in once again when a neighbor is killed and Mayati is framed for the murder. As the mystery unravels and Victoria fights to prove her innocence, she discovers that Mayati's life was filled with secrets-secrets dangerous enough to inspire revenge and motivate someone to murder. Will Victoria successfully unlock the key to the past in time to save her new-found future?
As a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya a few years back I traveled quite a bit and now I just wish I was. A lot of the places I've written about I've been to, a lot of them I haven't. Rafting on the Nile in Uganda, living in a Montana ghost town, Puerto Rican beaches, African safaris, Mayan ruins, European youth hostels, the Black Hills of South Dakota all fill my scrapbooks. Now a daughter takes up most of those pages, but I still travel in my head every time I write. I currently live in the Pacific Northwest and look forward to filling many more pages.
