Downtown Dallas shimmers with festive lights as Gray and Ivy celebrate their first Christmas as husband and wife. But three months into marriage, they’re discovering that love takes more than promises—it takes patience, humility, and grace.
As they navigate their first disagreement and the challenge of blending family traditions into one new story, the joy of the season feels harder to hold onto. Yet in the middle of miscommunication, laughter, and lessons learned, they’ll find that God’s love is big enough to hold them together.
A Season to Hold is a clean, faith-filled Christian Christmas romance filled with heartfelt emotion, marriage growing pains, and tender holiday moments. Perfect for readers who love newlywed stories, protective and patient heroes, cozy holiday vibes, and love that points straight to Jesus. A heartwarming story of faith, forgiveness, and finding joy in every season of love.
I love married couple’s stories! This was a super sweet novella. It was a lot of fun getting more of Gray & Ivy! I especially loved the honesty of newlywed life. They are navigating their new life together and learning how to live with one another and their different personality types. There is a whole lot of Jesus in this one which I loved! It also made me super excited for Harper & Micah’s story!!
Quote ✨ “These Christmas lights just highlight it all, every bit of the beauty God wove into you.”
Content ⚠️ No foul language Implied intimacy/ fade to black between married couple Some innuendos
This novella is super cute. In the authors note at the beginning, she recommends reading book 1 before diving into this novella. I did not read book 1 yet, but was still able to enjoy this novella. I think you’d have a better knowledge of the characters and you’d get to see how Ivy and Gray got to be together by reading book 1!
Even so, I enjoyed it. Ivy and Grays character’s are sweet and they are truly trying to figure out this newly married thing and navigate it around the big holiday season.
Micah was my favorite character.
The faith elements are sweet. I could have done without the fade to black/implied sex scenes.
This was a cute novella! 🥰 I loved returning to Ivy and Gray’s world! This didn’t feel rushed, like novellas usually do. It gave me all of the Christmas feels and more! I can’t wait for Harper and Micah’s book!
Can I give it more than 5 stars?? This story (Gray and Ivy) is my absolute favorite read of 2025. This Christmas novella was the perfect bonus. I cannot wait for more from Amber Nicole. So glad I discovered her and fell into this world she has created. I thought Christian romance had to be cheesy until I read Dare to Hold. So good. I wish I could make everyone read this story.
Amber, I think that might have been the sweetest novella I’ve ever read. Dripping with Jesus & all the Christmas spirit. I love married romance stories & this one definitely hit the mark!
Summary: Ivy & Gray navigate their first Christmas and first disagreements as a married couple:
Review: I really loved getting to read about Gray and Ivy as a married couple now. Even though they found themselves in some tough moments, it was nice to see how aware they still were of each other and almost immediately try to fix whatever problems arose. I especially enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere of this novella, it was a perfect choice for an addition to their story. Like with Dare to Hold, I enjoyed Amber’s writing style and the pacing was perfect. Sometimes with novellas they feel way too rushed for me, but this one was exactly right. This was a fun read and I can’t wait for Harper & Micah’s book!!!
I absolutely loved Dare to Hold and when I saw that Amber was coming out with a Christmas novella I was so excited!! I love the continuation of their story and how they are trying to build their life early in marriage. They’re not perfect but they both look to God to help them learn to love their spouse in the way they need and to follow His example of love.
You would be doing yourself a disservice by skipping this book! If you’re interested, see the author’s website to purchase!!
This Christmas novella is the **perfect** follow-up to a book I was not ready to end: Dare to Hold, which was one of my favorite books this year and Amber is definitely one of my favorite newly discovered authors.
❤️ The newly married vibes. Spot on. Hilarious and laugh out loud funny.
💚 The kitchen shenanigans.
❤️ The friends who feel like family.
💚 The Christmas decorating. 🎄🤣🎉
Thank you Amber for a copy of your book. This is my genuine review.
Absolutely the sweetest novella! I love seeing the continuation of Gray and Ivy’s love story and their friendships with Harper, Olivia and Micah. This was just the perfect novella for Christmas. I laughed at Ivy’s crazy over the top Christmas decorating and preparing for the holiday and cried in the sweetest moments between Gray & Ivy’s marriage. I’m not married but if I was I’d want a Gray.
The cuteness continues! Lots of grinning again, and more chuckling this time. Again a very sweet and relatable story. Real people and actual real, relatable struggles. Like, yup I remember that early part of marriage!
Again loved the faith being so front and center. I need more books like that!
Perfect for lovers of Gray and Ivy’s story from Dare to Hold! Fun, faith-filled, and full of love! A perfect Novella to tide readers over until Harper’s story!
I loved this so much. I missed Ivy and Gray. It was so sweet and fun. Seeing them early in their marriage, doing their first Christmas together was beautiful.
