National bestselling author De’nesha Diamond burst onto the scene as the co-author of the gritty Desperate Hoodwives tales. The Essence magazine recommended series has taken the street-lit game by storm and paved a brand new path for the edgy Memphis native. Understanding that there is a fine line between glorifying thug life and telling it like it is, De’nesha Diamond spins cautionary tales inspired by personal experience and the heartbreaking stories that make our nightly news. In the end, she aims to deliver hope, even if sometimes there are no rides in the golden sunset.
This book just didn't work for me. I loved the previous books in this series; however, this book just threw me off. I feel as though she gave the characters a completely different personality...and not for the good either. I'm still debating on whether I will be reading the finale
I am a little disappointed in this book. First disappointment is because there is going to be anothter book and I have no idea as to why because the majority of the main characters have all been killed. No LaShelle, no momma peaches, no Qiana, I mean really; while I didn't like LaShelle, she was a big piece of the story line. I also don't like the way Ta'Shara just jumped from being a total whimp to this now murderous, don't take no crap, doing drugs character overnight. So I guess we are just to believe she is as ruthless as her sister... I have no clue what Diesel's angle is and what he wants with Cleo (so not relevant to the story line.. Python and Fat Ace still don't know they are brothers and appears to never going to find out and now come to find out that Lt.Fowler is just another dirty cop.. Oh and I have to mention this book ends the exact same way the last book ended with Lucifer being attacked by Shariffa and we're left yet again wondering the fate of Lucifer and her baby... Will I read Queen Divas when it come outs, yes, and that is only because I have read all the others and I need to see how this ends; NOT because I am really looking forward to it...

3.5 stars. One of my favorite series but this book was my least favorite of them all. I know the author is trying to bring closure to the series but it all felt rushed. It was as if the author was trying to force it.No surprises and not many twists. The book started out a little slow and then BAM all the action happens all at once an then its over. It will be interesting to see what happens in the last book.
I diversified my reading this summer. This book was major violent. It is based in Memphis. King Isaac just got out of jail. His daughter works for the police. Ta'Shara committed a crazy act of revenge. She saved Lucifer who she had beef with. Diesel is a boss. I don't need to read part two though.
The great news is Ding Dong the witch is dead.. No No No Im going to hav to hav a talk with Miss Diamond she leaves a sista hangin I jus knew this series was about to end, but great news is MORE DIVAS Dang this series is a BANGER
I think this series gets better and better with each book. I laughed & even cried at some points during this one. Found myself cheering at the end. Wow.... Just wow! Bring on Queen Divas!
I'M SO GLAD THAT LESHELLE AIN'T GONNA BE A PROBLEM FOR HER SISTER TASHARA & THAT PROFIT GOT HIS REVENGE, GIVEN IN THE EARLIER BOOKS, LESHELLE HAD PUMPED A FULLCLIP INTO THE FRAME OF OUR BOY PROFIT TRYING TO KILL HIM! I gotta say: I didn't care very much for TaShara in this book. So, she suppose to be all about that GANG GANG & drug use while getting touchy-feeling with some chicks in the clique just to prove a point that she thinks she's over Profit, who put up with her crap much better than most of us would have had we'd been in that predicament! I'm upset that Diesel killed his own aunt Momma Peaches & let Python believe that Mason did it. I hope that Willow and her & Mason's little bambino will pull through after Shariffa & her crew came through on an ambush move. TaShara got caught up in it & got herself paralyzed taking a few strays to her own torso. I didn't understand the whole purpose of her playing with fire when she knew good & frigging well that if she set the crib on fire, her crippled ass couldn't do anything to save herself let alone anyone else! Willow is a strong woman, having given birth in the woods, upon escaping being kidnapped by Python & his crew. Speaking of which, that car scene where Willow was in labor & Python & his boy who was driving didn't know what to do & seemingly in fear for what would occur was humorous! That being said, I hope she will pull through. Something tells me that she will do just that! Even though KING ISAAC finally had gotten released from behind the walls AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS WIFE MAMA PEACHES, JUST IN TIME TO TRY TO GET WITH SOME YOUNG Hood Chicks (& hopefully MEET & MAKE AMENDS WITH HIS NEPHEW/SON MASON/FAT ACE)This book felt like it was missing something. King Isaac appears to be making amends (or at least in roads to it) with at least ONE of his KIDS: his cop daughter Hydiah. I hope TaShara comes to her senses & stop the feeling sorry for herself bull crap and get with her man Profit. Something tells me, having read the last two books of the series years ago, I HAVE A GOOD FEELING EVERYTHING WILL INDEED WORK OUT FOR PROFIT & TASHARA!
KARMA is so real isn’t it! In this book, that that is all that comes to mind. The series is coming to an end and there can only be one on top. I literally cried in this book because I loved Mama Peaches. I really thought with her changing her life around….Isaac coming home and leaving the streets that there was going to be love & happiness in the air. Ta’Shara went straight psycho…but I have to be honest and say that La’Shelle got exactly what she had coming to her. I didn’t pay too much attention to Ta’Shara because she got on my nerves at times but I was doing cartwheels when she saved herself when she saved my second favorite character Willow…so she gets points for that! I was very sad when Python kidnapped Willow….but of course the most feared and fierce of the women do what she do….survive the worst! Can’t wait to see how things turn out for the finale!!! D.D. – I hope you are working writing us a new series….don’t leave us hanging for too long!
This book was great just like the one before it! Momma Peaches is dead! But what is crazy is who killed her! You gotta read to find out! Profit does something to break Ta'Shara's heart. LeShelle gets killed and who does it will shock you. The new police captain loses her husband and job temporarily but finds out some news. You gotta read this book cause it is sooo much good drama! The saga continues and I am on to the final book!
I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook then follow book. Well written, yet there were some parts not that easy to follow like Ta'shara no more love emotions after what she did.
Wow! King Davis ended better than I thought that it would. All the things that I thought wouldn’t happen did happen. I am now on the last book of the series.

The fifth installment of the Diva series, King Divas brings more drama and even more bloodshed. Captain Hawkins find herself on the other side of the law, but not by choice. King Isaac is home to reclaim his throne…to some folks dismay! One thing's for sure …the streets of Memphis will never be the same again!
This 5 star series should be read by all lovers of Urban Fiction. You will not be disappointed!!!!!
De'nesha Diamond can do no wrong in my eyes. I know that's an alter ego for an author that writes other books under her real name. This series, (which is sadly coming to an end soon) has a little of everything. This book is no different. I have become attached to the characters. Especially Ta'Shara, Profit and, Cleo. I kept hoping Ta'shara would snap out of it while reading. Not take Profit back per se. Just, not go down this horrible road she's on. There were a few character deaths that I didn't see coming (Le'Shelle and Peaches. Plus, newcomer Drake). Totally surprised me. But, it's necessary. One of my biggest pet peeves is a neat bow at the end of a book. My only (small) problems were a few typos. Or lack of editing. There was a scene where Cleo was talking to Diesel. I'm pretty sure there was something missing in the sentence. Same thing in another part where the author put Le'Shelle's name. I'm sure it was supposed to be Ta'shara's. De'Nesha Diamond has done her roller coaster read again. I can't wait until the next one.

TBH, King Divas was my least favorite book. I guess I'm used to the riff raff of the Memphis streets that has been brought to us in the other books that I was expecting the same thing. This book mostly focused on Hydeya, and Cleo which, in my opinion, are 2 background characters. I actually thought this was the end of the series and I hate to admit it but I can't see another great story line for Queen Divas. I, of course will read it because I feel a sense of obligation. Nonetheless, Denesha has always created fire. Please don't let the Diva series end with a simmer.
I read Hustlin' Divas first, and then skipped to this one. Evidently, I missed alot in the books bewtween!!!! Miss De'nesha does NOT disappoint!!! My only issue was that there were many "main" characters, and a few times I had to stop and think WHO was telling which part!!! I enjoyed this and would give it 3 1/2----but I may come back and UP that, after I read the middle set of the series. Great, authentically written.......I felt as tho I was there in the shadows..........watching............ #whew!!
OMG, is the first thing that comes to mind as I read the last sentence of this book. There are 3 things I want to share. 1) these ladies are kick ass & have no problems killing folks. 2) there are a host of characters and it's hard to remember who is in what team. I had to keep back tracking to figure it out. 3) it kept going and going and going. I didn't it would ever end. Even though the marks aren't high I plan to read the last installment if this series when it is released.
Ta'Shara finally adapts to life she been dealt. And oh boys she adapt. She might even be borderline psycho. While Leshelle is overomed by the life she chose to accept.
Cleo jumps out of the pan (Kalief) and into the fire (with Diesel). Diesel is just dirty-momma peaches, really.
Some secrets come to light and some people pay the cost. Can't for Queen Divas to reveal the rest.
First things first a little disappointed that there wasn't a whole lot of sex scenes. I always look forward to reading the extremely explicit love scenes. Unfortunately, there were a of deaths to a few of the main characters. That was pretty disappointing, but all in all it was still a good book. I do like the fact that the writer brought out more about Ta'shara and her being a lot more bold heartless. Of course there will be another book because in the end there were some unanswered questions.
OMG!!! This book was so good!!! I enjoyed every minute of it!!! Just like the rest of this series!!! It's really hard not to put spoilers in this review!!! So to sum it up this series is superb! De'nesha Diamond is such a talented author!!! She's the new queen of urban lit!!! Awesome job! I read her books & listen to them... Love it! Can't wait for Queen Divas!! I never want this series to end!!! Ever!!!
