When boutique owner Livvy Kent accepts an invitation to wealthy newcomers the Harrises' elaborate Thanksgiving dinner, she never imagines the evening will end with murder. As Gordon Harris collapses after reading a threatening message hidden in a ceramic turkey drumstick, Livvy and her trusty beagle Gravy find themselves at the center of Giblet Grove's most shocking crime. With suspicion falling on Gordon's wife Isabella, Livvy's instincts tell her there's more to this perfectly planned murder than meets the eye.
As Livvy begins asking questions around town, she uncovers a web of secrets involving lakefront property deals, small-town rivalries, and hidden connections among Giblet Grove's most prominent citizens. Each dinner guest had reasons to resent Gordon's aggressive business tactics, but who hated him enough to orchestrate such an elaborate murder? When evidence mysteriously appears at the historic Jenkins boathouse and Livvy's apartment is broken into, it becomes clear someone is determined to stop her investigation—permanently.
With help from the new sheriff Riley Cooper, her loyal beagle Gravy, and an unlikely alliance of friends, Livvy races to uncover the truth before the killer strikes again. In this delightful cozy mystery filled with twists, turns, and plenty of small-town charm, Livvy must sort through gravy-thick deceptions and determine who's telling the truth before she becomes the next victim on the murderer's Thanksgiving menu.
I definitely enjoyed this mystery featuring boutique owner Livvy Kent. The death of a developer with plans to sell out the town was complex and compelling. I enjoyed the characters as they interacted and how developed they were. Kudos. Enjoying this Thanksgiving series immensely.
