In the heart of Christmas Village, a picture-perfect Christmas town glowing with twinkle lights and cinnamon-scented charm, Charlotte Crandall is settling into her new life as the owner of a cozy gift shop that's brimming with cheer. But when a local turns up dead at the beginning of the holiday season, Charlotte’s peaceful days take a chilling turn. With the help of her friends, Debbie and Lila, along with her boyfriend, Jake, who owns a snowy Christmas tree farm, she must unwrap a tangle of secrets before another victim ends up under the mistletoe. Between cocoa dates, carols, and clues, Charlotte learns that even in a Christmas town, danger can hide behind every wreath.
I really enjoyed the first three books of this series last Christmas season, so I was happy for its return this year. I love the camaraderie Charlotte, Jake, Lila and Debbie have among themselves. Even before Charlotte and Jake were an item, the four would discuss cases and interview suspects. But this time poor Jake was on the suspect chopping block, and Charlotte wasn’t about to let him go down for something he didn’t do. Loved how the killer was caught at the end!
Love this series. Of course there is a murder. Francine is found on Jake's farm . He is Charlotte's boyfriend and she is the amateur sleuth along with some of her friends. See how they get into it and help solve the mystery much to the dismay of Detective Hayes. Charlotte owns the Christmas Shop. When the murderer was revealed I wouldn't have guessed. A VERY GOOD COZY MYSTERY. A new one comes out 12/18, can't wait.
I love her seasonal cozies. This one is still a somewhat new series, so I don't have the same relationship with these characters as I do with others, but I am already enjoying this world and am looking forward to more!
