Loved this story - Sweet heat and laughter - Absolute Perfection.
I was able to read the story in a single sitting, and by the time I finished, my face hurt from grinning so much. I even laughed out loud more than once!
This is a light-hearted and sinfully HOT read - perfect for those who like a little D/s in their romances. It wasn't angsty, there were no untouchable, impossible characters - No squillionaires with dark pasts... No virgins being tempted into a life of BDSM...
Yes we were treated to some deliciously kinky scenes, but we also had believable characters and laugh out loud humor. The dialogue between the two main characters really made this a 5-Star read for me.
Dawn
She's a short, curvy, foul-mouthed modern woman working toward a career as an architect... Who enjoys blowing off steam with a good spanking.
A wonderfully bratty sub - she likes to earn her punishments by pushing her Dom's buttons. She talks back and has a spine of steel. Luckily, she's also a total pain slut, because Gabriel loves bringing difficult subs to heel.
Gabriel
He brought a new life to the typical "Dom who has sworn off relationships" character - he knows he falls fast and hard. To protect his heart from getting involved in another disastrous relationships, he keeps his kinks at the club...
The POV was split about equally between Dawn and Gabriel. They're tempting each other into something bigger than a physical relationship, even though both characters are wary of opening themselves to another.
The chemistry between these two was fabulous. When Dawn and Gabriel finally came together it was melt-your-Kindle hot!

Make Me was definitely steamy enough but I felt that there was little connective tissue between the actual story and the steam. I never felt any established trust or connection between the characters so their sceneing together did not feel true. I felt the strong lust between them, but I didn't get a good sense of why their feelings developed so quickly when they didn't know anything about each other. My neutral feelings are perhaps because I'm biased after reading so many books in the genre where the characters feel right today in their kink. I just didn't feel it in this one.

SO love me some kindle freebies. My 2.5 rating is reflective of the cookie cutter story line. Main character Gabriel runs a BDSM club and becomes Dawn's superhero in a isn't-it-fate kind of moment. She swoons, wants him. He resists. Makes comparisons to his ex. She vows to make him see her differently.
This probably could have ended up a 3 but I have real issues with bratty female characters. They're overplayed and cliched.

This is a reasonably fun, short read. Cate Bellerose is good at snappy, playful dialogue - this is her main strength as a writer, in my opinion. She's also good at describing sex in a fairly inventive manner.
On the negative side, the motivations in this story are paper-thin. Neither Dawn nor Gabriel, the two main characters, comes across as particularly interesting. Other than the fact they find each other hot, we're never given any compelling reason they're so attracted to each other. The only character with a hint of complexity about her is Gabriel's vampy and manipulative ex, Viv.
There's also a certain irritating lack of attention to detail in this story. For instance, in one scene, Dawn runs away from Gabriel's nameless BDSM club wearing only a borrowed coat and a baggy dress, also not hers. She takes a cab home, and the entire time this was happening, through to the cab pulling away after it drops her in front of her apartment building, all I could think was, "She has no purse, no money, no credit cards, nothing but that borrowed dress and overcoat - how does she pay for the cab?"
This is a short, breezy, lightweight, competent, time waster of a book for fans of the genre. Pleasant enough - nothing too special.

Another great BDSM romance
This was the second book I have read and love from this author. I did buy the rest of the books in the series since I will re read them a lot.
Overview. Dawn was having a bad week. Her boss has been hard on her and parking issues at her place have not been good. She is cursing the two cars that have her blocked in when Gabe comes up and offers help. The biggest shock is when Dawn is at his BDSM club and he notices her bad behavior. Gabe steps in and offers her Dom another form of punishment for Dawn being a brat. Dawn pushes Gabe to his limits but he wins. Gabe offers to do another scene with her later. Gabe finds that he can't say no to her and her brattiness. But when Gabes ex girlfriend Vivian comes back, Dawn feels like she can't compete. Even though Gabe only has eyes with Dawn. His dark master skills crave Dawn.

This is a bit like a beginning point for a story that needs more story added around this to make it a really good story... There are are lady with an architect job that doesn't make an appearance afterward the first chapter... The Dom who gets her car out when its boxed in and she needs to go to work. Then she has a burglar and Gabriel is her first call and savior. He scene together 2 times a Theo's why the club his ex tries to break em up and they are together .... It kinda felt like the 6 character should have been expanded. Its a good story just very short and sweet.

I liked the beginning and how the plot was set up but I didn't like how it progressed. After an intense, public scene, the hero leaves the (naked!) heroine alone to get her some clothes. Hero's ex walks up and tells her that they got back together and heroine freaks and leaves. Hero flips out and punishes *heroine*??? Idk dude, you're the one who left your sub alone after a scene. It was just so unnecessarily dramatic

I really enjoyed this quick read about Gabriel and Dawn's connection through BDSM. Dawn was more of a brat than a sub but it made for a fun read. Gabe is a decent dom and neighbor. Their quick connection and good match to scene with fit just right with this quick to read sexy story.

Mixed Feelings
I have mixed feelings about this short story. It moves quickly which isn’t a problem for me as I love a bit of instant love but for me it’s the bdsm. I love bdsm stories and have read a lot but the scenes were nothing but beatings. Yes she handled it and he didn’t go too far but there needed to be more than just hitting to embrace the true nature of bdsm. Glad I read it on KU and I returned it as soon as I’d read it.

It was ok, I wished for more
The book was finished quite quickly. I like the storyline, and I could be wrong, but it feels like the storyline between them is done and dusted, and now we're going to hear about Liv. However, it was a very short relationship, so I think that it could have been explored more. Perhaps Liv being the jealous ex creating hassle for them? Etc.

Very short quick read but I like the characters so far and even tho it seems to have moved really really quickly I’m interested to see what happens in the next book as no relationship is ever that easy…so I’m expecting more to happen there.

Fun read and thoroughly grabs you from the beginning. Absolutely enveloping scenes made it hard to pause to go to bed, but I’m a good girl so I did, lol. It was the start to a series and I’m grabbing the next book right now.

I think I might have been hasty in giving all the books in series three stars, thus I have revised my rating to four stars. I thought every one of these books was interesting and offered a good story with good sex scenes. I think my hasty decision to give this only three stars was because these books are a little short. Anyway, read this if BDSM Romance is your preferred genre, as it certainly is mine.

Review for Make Me by Cate Bellerose
Make Me by Cate Bellerose is an erotic BDSM romance. I’ve read a ton of BDSM books and it’s extremely rare that I find one that is not only sexy, but funny too. The writing style has a great flow to it, I never felt there was a lull or that the author was just adding things to add them. She took full advantage of every word in this novella, building the scenes in a way that you were THERE.
I love Dawn. She’s no wilting flower and I respect that in a submissive character. So often the sub is written as a pushover who questions what she is doing internally ad nauseam … drives me batty. Dawn, she knows what she wants. What she needs. She owns it. FINALLY! And she’s hilarious to boot. I mean laugh out loud hilarious.

Perfect erotica romance!
I have only been reading erotica for a month or two, but I've already seen that many of the books basically adhere to a formula. Not this book! Make Me is part of a scintillating, hot bdsm series by Cate Bellarose. I could only find 3 books by this author, and they were so great that I downloaded and read them immediately after finding the first. This book is so sizzling that it's unreal and on top of that, really really humorous., believe it or not. I found myself gasping at the very hot scenes and lmao at the same time, a very odd but fabulous condition to be in! I can definitely say I will miss these people now that I'm finished reading all three of these books.
